Bengal Bites in Neath Port Talbot

Late, cold, wrong, bad. Stone cold food delivered late. Ordered lamb got chicken even though lamb more expensive. Ordered korma and massala expected to me mild but was really spicy! Curry tasted like it was from a jar not cooked fresh. The bajis samosa and bread was freezing cold. Absolutely the worst Indian we've ever had. Won't order again ever. Abysmal

Probably the nicest tasting food we ever had , even the pompadoms were tasty .. 100 % gonna order from these again ! It pays to try different places like this was our new one , stunning food .. thank you

The korma was very watery also the kulcha naan had plastic burger cheese in it

Worst "indian" food I've ever had. The dishes were nowhere near what they would typically be, no taste, no spices. Poppadoms stale. Very small rice portions.

Food cold on arrival. Had to use the microwave, should've just gone to the supermarket and got a microwave curry, it would've been better. Quality poor and under cooked. Generic low quality food, worse than low quality canned curries. Wait time longer than desired, Over 60 minutes from ordering. Disappointed with the food as it was paid with gift card. Unfortunately won't be ordering from Bengal Bites again.

Curry was watery, rice was half full, half the chips were burned and tandoori chicken tasted weird. Won’t order from there again.

I never leave feedback but after ordering my food and then reading the reviews. I was dreading having my food after seeing all the negative comments. My food arrived on time, was warm and the curry’s were full of flavour. Really enjoyed our takeaway and will definitely be ordering again. Don’t be put off by the negative feedback.

Tried giving us a knock off cheap coke when we paid for a Coca Cola, missing a naan bread. Chips were ice cold and so was the rest of the food. Ridiculous.

Delicious food worth waiting for

All food was tasteless, the curry was watery. The kebab didn’t come with any mint sauce or salad. Worst meal I’ve had from Bengal

Ordered the poppadom starter with four different dips we were give two different flavours. Keema nan was tasteless and cold. Chicken chat was nice Both rices were really nice. Chicken madras was really good.

Wrong food orders. Hard uncooked chips. Stone cold food. Unable to get through to restaurant. Constantly engaged.

Korma was watery. Not enough rice on the plate. Really disappointing. We used to order from here a lot before and was lovely. We tried it again last night and food was not that nice. Won’t be ordering from here again. Spent nearly £25 for it to come back like that. Really not happy.

We order a chutney tray but the ones we ordered were substituted. We ordered lamb curries, but they sent chicken and still charged the same. When I rang to complain I was told we were given extra poppadums which we weren’t. The man then said they had tried to phone me to say they were not doing lamb, but I never received any missed call on my phone. I am very disappointed with the whole experience from them this week and I will definitely not order from them again and I want a full refund!

Beautiful curry but 4 poppadoms missing with order

The Food is great, Bengal Bites has always been great but on this occasion the delivery time wasn't and some of the Food arrived cold sadly. I'm trying to be fair because the food is nice from here.

Absolutely shocking meal and will never be returning. Chips were not fully cooked, onion bhajees were soggy and mushy and dripping with oil, chutney tray had most items missing. Large chips was very small. Very very disappointing and will definitely not be returning.

Well. We used to be regulars of Bengal Bites back in the day. Haven’t ordered from there in quite a while and today was a little disappointing. Had an update that the food was on the way, ahead of schedule - awesome we thought. But we waited… and waited… and knowing the drive there was plenty of time to have come to us twice, but still nothing. Although they did turn up in the given window. However, I can only assume that we were one of many deliveries by the driver. The naans were stone cold. The chips were fairly cold and bizarrely chewy. Like undercooked? The masala sauce was very, very salty and poppadom was soggy. All in all, disappointed - aside from they gave us an extra can of pop in error? Every cloud I guess.

Missing items from order some food was piping hot others like warm, waste of £30 in my eyes. In phone call to restaurant they asked me to put missing items in comments and have them foc next order. How can it be foc when I’ve already paid for them also what next order very presumptuous of them

They have drastically reduced the portion sizes, increased the prices and they no longer give complimentary poppadoms. Such a shame because it was our go to place.

Cold tiny nan bread! Half a bag of Luke warm chips ordered large, missing items on order too . Fair to say I won’t order here again;

absolutely disgusting delivery service and food not much better. 2 hr wait for delivery and even after 2 calls they couldn't tell me how long it would be. turned up eventually freezing cold and missing part of the order. which I had been promised would be delivered but another 40mins later and I'm still waiting!!! do yourselves a favour and if you want a good Indian don't order from here

Food was on time however cold. Both rice containers were half full, nann breads were half the size that you would usually expect and curry was quite watery with very little meat.

Will definitely be ordering from here again the food was amazing! Everything was really tasty we haven’t enjoyed a curry like that in a long time. Also delivery driver was lovely very polite and friendly. Highly recommend!!

Food was lovely but sadly we waited well over an hour to receive it. The restaurant is only 3 minutes down the road but it took over 20 mins from the time we received a text saying it was on its way.

Bhaji were dried and unedible chips were old.. donar meet dry

Food items missing (rice) ordered 2 large chips and there was barely a small portion between the 2 bags and half of them were over cocked and green ( old potatoes) food was Luke warm, 3 out of 4 popadoms delivered. 3rd time this has happened - not worth ringing the place as they just say “we will add it on next time” very disappointed and will be finding a new place.

Food was delivered 2 hours after ordering . They told me they put a free can of coke in with the other can of coke when I hadn't ordered a can of coke I had ordered a bottle that didn't arrive . Curry was like water . Used to love this takeaway but this is the 2nd time ordering and the food and service hasn't been up to standard . Food went in the bin ..

Was a bit late and when we rang they said it was due to car issues and apologises so no biggie. The food was beautiful and still hot. Would highly recommend!

Cancelled my order on 29/06/22 after paying, without explanation. Trapped £31.39 in a preauthorisation state that took 5 days to release back into my bank account. I will never use this restaurant again.

We waited an hour for delivery on a Wednesday evening, but... well... it's school holidays and all that, maybe they were busier than usual. Curry was hot and packed with meat, no complaints there, generous portions, tasty and well presented. Everything seemed good, as usual..... until we opened the onion bhajis. They were absolutely cremated, black & inedible, the bag they were in was as light as a feather as all the moisture had been cooked out of them - they resembled black, crunchy bits of charcoal, they hadn't even held together and should never have been sent out like that. We were so disappointed with this, they had to go straight in the bin. More disappointing really, was the attitude when we rang to complain. Whoever answered the phone really didn't want to know, just kept saying to ask for another one next time we come in. Not even an apology or an offer to send out a fresh portion (we live close enough for them to have done this) Assuming we ever *do* go back.... I'm not sure they would remember our call as they seemed so disinterested. Plenty of other restaurants to choose from in Skewen, thankfully.

Always delivers good hot and tasty food 5*

The keema naan wasn’t cooked right as it’s repeating on me. Barely any colour on the naans, and the chips were cold on arrival. Kebab meat was the only saving grace but after the keema naan I fear I’m gonna taste it twice.

First time to order, we had the mega meal B, OK but all tasted very similar, poppadoms were burnt and way too burny for me, garlic potatoes nice and loved the tandoori chicken starter and the mains that we had had tikka chicken which was lovely. Not sure if I would order again, if I did would have to be dry meals, because mine was swimming in water which puts, me off. Sorry, wanted to love it more. 😔

This is fast becoming our ‘go to Indian takeaway. My aunt used to live opposite and was a regular customer. Food is ALWAYS really tasty, high quality, generous portions and delivered within the specified time frame. In short we CANNOT fault it! Thank you Bengal Bites!

Great food but delayed again sadly

The food was lovely but the order was late with no apology, no message back when I enquired where the food was and missing one of the dips with the poppadoms ☹️

Poppadoms smashed to bits on arrival, taka shall like water, rice massively overcooked and the dhansak appeared to have diced frozen veg, the taste was insipid. Very, very disappointing.

Rice was not birani as tasteless Veg bhaji was more a casserole not fried at all no flour nothing like a normal bhaji The kebab was served in a naan bread i ordered pitta Meat was generous salad very sad served in a plastic bag with it no tomato one slice cucumber no cabbage no sauce this is not a kebab as you know one first order cost over £27 sadly will be last

Usually pick up food from here when I order but decided to have it delivered. They changed the delivery time twice which meant I was eating around 9pm. The food was about 45 mins late. Considering I’m within walking distance of the restaurant this wasn’t great. When the food finally arrived the main meal was delicious however the poppadoms we ordered along with the chutneys were burnt. They had an awful burnt oil taste to them which meant they were inedible, I it meant the chutneys also went to waste.

Messed up my order and was missing items

Don’t order from here, if they can’t find your house they will drive around for an hour whilst your food gets cold instead of calling for directions. And whoever answers the phone in the store will be apologetic but brain dead just like the driver.

A lot of crushed bone in the doner meat. Chicken in the madras was tough. And the sauce had a peculiar flavour to it!

Over 1hr late. When phoned to say we belived the order was incorrect due to a lid stating it had a chilli balti on it and not a chicken tikka balti the man laughed and said its the wrong lid. Food cold. Not happy with order of service.

Very poor service. Appreciate if order was late, but the order was missing TWO items on top. Not good enough unfortunately. Would not recommend.

The only good thing to say was the food was delivered on time. Apart from that was disappointed. The food was bland and luke-warm. Considering they gave an hour for delivery I thought it would have been cooked fresh and have been hot. We were also missing parts of the order that we had placed and when trying to ring to query this no-one was answering the phone. 100% will NOT be ordering from here again

3 hours and counting. Food HAS NOT ARRIVED and I've called to ask twice, both times saying it is on its way. Not acceptable, my partner is diabetic.

This is the first review I've ever had to leave on just eat because honestly the food was tasteless ,cold, and the worst Indian I have ever had. I ordered it at 7:50 and it arrived at 10.05pm. so if I was you I'd avoid this place like the plague I know I will be.

Have used this restaurant before with no problems food has always been very good untill today I ordered at 19:30 food arrived a 21:50 pomperdoms were soggy chips cold curry was ok but not piping hot very disappointed hopefully just a 1 off

Not all the order was included and I had to contact the restaurant to have the remaining items sent out again. To the time these arrived we had already eaten what had been delivered the first time. Good portions but just disappointing to have to ring back

Hi, not very impressed with the food that I had delivered tonight. I've ordered here a few times and the food has been great but tonight the curry was awful, chips were burnt and the rice taste like soap.

Food was 30/45 mater than my estimated time, had to ring as my bottle of pop was missing and I was asked “did I need it or could I go without” I said I’d like the bottle of pop as it had been paid for, still not yet received it. Wouldn’t recommend and wouldn’t use again.

Gutted about the Tikka kebab, expected it on nam but was on a tiny pitta bread 😢

Food was a little late but the delivery driver was apologetic. The mixed kebab was so dry it was basically inedible, no option to add sauce and the salad had a weird smell to it. The curry was nice and warm but the onion bhajis were like chewing rubber

Really disappointed with the overall experience this time. Aware that begal bites are usually late but this was ridiculous ordered at 6:15 arrived at 8:05. No communication from restaurant either tried to call but they kept putting the phone down. Would not recommend unless you want to wait nearly 2 hours with cold food.
