I can't fault this place. Stunning food, comfortable seating and friendly professional staff. The best curries for miles.

I have long been a lover of Indian meals and have visited many restaurants and takeaways, The Plaza from the day it opened in Neath over 25 years ago, is consistently the best.

Met with friends for an evening meal. Lovely food and friendly staff.

Have to say disappointment, I have been here numerous times but last night was poor. Clearly cutting back on the amount of chicken in the dish. The sauce was a sort of what looked like onion soup.my friend had a fish dish and it looked and tasted the same as my chicken dish.All of us have been to tbe loo in the night. Won’t be going again.We had a little discount and a word would be had with the chef.

Have used this Restaurant for many years. Firstly when my husband was alive and now I am taking my grandchildren there. We have never had a bad meal there and my grandchildren love it. The Staff are exceptional friendly and really helpful in helping us chose our meals. Prices are very reasonable, as is the wine. As far as I am concerned this is the best Indian Restaurant in the area.

This is a really nice Indian restaurant. The decor is smart, the background music subdued and the service is prompt and courteous. The food is superb - chicken dhansak with just the right balance of heat and sourness, naan bread still crisp after the bus ride home, rice light and fluffy, dhal not that sloppy soup texture you often get. I'm really pleased to have found this place, as decent restaurants are scarce in Neath.

Lovely place to eat food was very nice indeed

First time here and won't be the last. Service is exemplary. Food exquisite, my prawn poori was the best I've had for about 30 years. Husband's food was equally as good. It was great to hear people chatting to each and not having their heads in their phones. Top class.

Following the beer festival, I finished it off with a delightful Indian curry. The food was upto its usual excellent standard and reasonably priced. Would recommend.

The best Indian meal my wife and I have ever had and we have had quite a few. Absolutely excellent food, good and friendly service in nice surroundings. Would have no hesitation in returning.

Had a meal here tonight and drove in from carmarthenshire for a sit down meal as we have had a couple of takeaways as i work in Neath.10/10 guys fantastic food and service to match.

Always lovely food here, the staff are attentive and really welcoming! Huge naans and portions. It really is such a lovely business and always really helpful with explaining the different dishes. I've never left disappointed.

Still the best Indian restaurant in the Area, they have never let their high standards slip in all the years I have dined there.

Walked in and got cold stares. Instead of a greeting, the waiter just said 'Did you book?'. They hesitated a bit when they gave us a seat. So not a great start in customer friendly welcome. After being seated, there was a Sunday menu and we opted for normal menu to spend more. Here's my rundown: Starters were superb. Then we ordered sheek kebab & prawn puree. Main courses were dhansak tikka curry dishes and tikka shaslik, 2 flavoured rices, side orders, keema nan and chips. 2 large drinks - unfortunately the quality was like the might before, chips tasted a day old, my curry was average. The rice was slightly flavourless, but overall edible. This will be my only visit and will try the next restaurant. Very disappointing, but try it and give your own opinion.

They have always maintained their very hight standards, I’m a lover of Indian food and in my humble opinion this place will not be beaten.

Sadly this is a mixed review....whilst 2 of our party had good meals the rest didn't. My meal was sadly very bland it was almost as if the chef had forgotten to put any seasonings in it at all ... My partners wasn't much better....

A family of seven, we went at Plaza 7.30 pm on Sunday 01-01-2023, and a ponytail waiter received/served us with very professional and polite manners. We received our starters after 1 hour and 9 pm when we asked for our main, the owner of the restaurant, Mr. Anwar's, replayed to us so rude, lack of customer service and arrogant and the way he behaved to us that we can leave the place if we are not satisfied instead apologies and said to us that the main will still take times. So we paid him the starters and the drinks bill and left the place without having the main. What a horrible New Year's day we had at Plaza Indian restaurant, Neath......

Service here is spot on every single time, lovely staff & so helpful! Food is a+, highly recommend dining in and ordering the mixed grill..

Excellent food. Very helpful staff. The only minor problems I had to wait a while for my chips to arrive.

Usually dine in customers but had a take away tonight which was superb. This is a real gem of a place.

Went with my family to the Plaza last night. The food was amazing. I had the best chicken Jal Jala that I’ve ever tasted. I’m a massive curry lover and everyone’s meal was fab. It was good value for money which is important for many of us at the moment. Will be returning soon 🌶😊

We had a lovely meal, & the staff were great. The only downside, was a group of lads waiting for their takeaway - & they were SO noisy, my Husband & I couldn't chat because of the commotion. I think they should have been asked to reduce the noise. It was really off putting. Otherwise, a lovely meal.

Having not been here for a few years we thought we would try it again last night. Friendly staff a nice atmosphere and reasonably priced. Good menu selection. I had Chicken Nihari with Garlic rice and it was stunning. Nice big cold Cobra bottles too. Looking forward to going back, well worth a visit *****

Great service and this place has to be the cleanest Indian restaurant in South Wales, absolutely spotless and very light. The food is great and all of the various dishes we have tried are of the same excellent standard. The sweet chilli chicken has to be tried! Once visited you will keep coming back.

Absolutely love The Plaza, staff friendly and food beautiful. Usually visit once a month and managed to squeeze one more visit in before lockdown but plenty of takeaways since! Looking forward to doors opening again, my son is missing the Ferrero Rocher ice cream!

We have eaten here many times over many years and recently our visit was rewarded with a high standard of service, spotlessly clean linen good class cutlery,, and good quality food. Our meals were served all together with dish warmers at the tables ALL round Excellent. we shall definitely return to this restaurant soon again

went there with friends a couple of weeks ago...my chicken jalfrezi was incredible... the onion bajis were awesome,,,,service was fab...everybody enjoyed their meales....fab night out.

We have never failed to get good service and great food when visiting the Plaza. I am a bit fussy when it come to curry and I do like it hot. They will always amend a dish to suit my tastes. Can’t wait to go back.

I’ve been a regular of this Indian now for a long time and thought it was time again to put a very positive review. Every time we eat at the restaurant or they deliver they do not disappoint in my opinion the best Indian. Guys your regular garlic lover.

Ate with a colleague We had the xacutti and a jal chicken. Both very tasty. Also had a different side dish not seen elsewhere. Chillied green beans with garlic. This very good. Puri a bit greasy. Would definitely revisit and recommend to others.

Went here for a family meal, which is quite regular. Food was lovely even though it was very slow service.I was very disappointed that there were no baby changing facilities available. Even though there was space in the disabled toilet to add a station.Due to this issue, this place would not be a first choice for a family meal for some time.

This restaurant has a nice ambience, the staff are friendly and helpful, the food is good. The only criticism would be that the chutney trays that came with the poppadums were a little too small for 6 people. Maybe two trays should be considered for a group of 6 as we ran out before finishing the poppadums, and the onion bhajis were a bit overdone. Hence the 4 from 5, no other criticism.

I'm not usually given to repeat reviews but this place deserves it. 4 excellent meals, everyone more than satisfied. Well worth a visit, I am looking forward to my next trip.

Wasn’t happy with meal. Wouldn’t go here again. Firstly our meals were cold. Had to reheat. Popadoms were dry and soft. No crisp to them at all. Also got our order wrong. Takeaway cost us almost £30! What waste of money

This was a Monday night visit and there were four of us. The place itself is a decent size and you are not sat in someone else's lap, the tables are well-spaced. The food is excellent, I chose a well-spiced lamb dish (it began with a 'z', I'm going to have to start writing these down) and it was sublime. A great depth of flavour with a chilli hit at the end. The others had chicken dishes and said they were very good. Staff were very pleasant, attentive and chatty. When I went to pay I was surprised to see a large picture window in to the kitchen, this is a group that are proud and confident in what they do and it certainly shows in their cooking. I will be back soon, the Lamb dish almost blew my head off, and I want to taste it again!!

Myself and my partner visit the Plaza every couple of months. It’s a lovely restaurant and we thoroughly enjoy the food. The staff are always helpful. It’s a very relaxed atmosphere which is one of the main reasons why we enjoy. Food is wonderful and so is the service.

My wife and I decided to go out for a few drinks after a long hard week, and we meet our friends in Neath and we chatted and had a few drinks, we all then decided to call to the Plaza for a meal, we had dips for starters, and all have very tasty meals, everyone enjoyed their meals, the staff are very friendly, this is a very nice Indian restaurant. Food excellent.

We dined during the evening and opted for a light starter of chicken tikka and side salad ,for our mains we chose lamb pathia and chicken shashlick with salad ,very well cooked and tasted delicious......

Visited this place many times and food is always very tasty, followed by good service. Sunday is a good day to go as they do a set menu for £7.95 which is very good value for money.

Food is always good, and reception from staff excellent. Management always happy to recommend a dish that suits the customer. Delivery of food takeaway is fast and reliable. Would recommend this place for a romantic evening and for parties.

I’ve seen faster service on Southern Rail. We have been waiting for over an hour for our food and told it will take another 20 minutes because they are ‘busy’. Not even a suggestion of an apology. Unfortunately for us we have visited this restaurant several times and each time it has been the same. Awful service.

Un colega y yo fuimos por recomendación de un colega local de trabajo, y las críticas que habíamos visto en el restaurante era muy bueno, y teníamos muchas expectativas. Sin embargo, nos decepcionó y sentí que un par de restaurantes en y alrededor de Neath que teníamos anteriormente había proporcionado platos donde el sabor de la comida era muy superior a la plaza. Tanto yo como mi colega de trabajo pensamos que los platos que tenía eran demasiado confianza en el calor de los chiles y le faltaba la variación de sabores entra a través de los platos.

Went for a meal with my family and two friends (7). We ordered our food, drinks starters etc. Drinks and starters came. Had to wait a very long time for food however when it came it was absolutely outstanding food. Nicest curry I've had in a long time, just waited too long.

8 of us booked meal for 7.30. Arrived on ti e and were seated. Drinks order taken immediately but waiter requested £20 deposit which was given. Waited TWO HOURS for food!!! Admittedly it was busy as it was a Saturday night, however we felt this wait was unacceptable. When food came, one of the dishes was stone cold and immediately sent back. The hot replacement wasnt brought to us until we had finished our meal. The person whos food it wss had had shared everyone elses and didnt want the food by then. We asked on numerous times to speak to manager and he finally appeared once the restaurant had virtually emptied. He took the cold meal off the bill and a further 10%. However we realised today that they still had the £20 deposit. Have been here a number of times but will NEVER go again -COLD FOOD, DIRE SERVICE AND TAKING "DEPOSITS" - SHOCKING

5 of us visited tonight after a trip to the local theatre, staff were happy and friendly and delivered a lovely tasteful indian meal and experience!

Have been visiting probably around 3-4 times a year for the past 18 years for the sunday buffet.Good value with a few different curries & starters -a genuine help yourself eat as much as you like buffet

Love the curry here... I had the chicken karahi and my husband madras... really yummy! Although on a Friday evening it's a bit rushed and hectic, but I suppose that can be said of all Indians in a Friday night!

We went to the plaza for a family meal. To be honest this was our second choice because our first choice was closed. We were very glad afterwards as this is a lovely restaurant with lovely staff who were helpful. This restaurant is bright and airy and not what one would expect from an Indian restaurant. We all ordered different dishes and every one of them was top class. I ordered the mixed balti with keema rice. It was one of the best I've ever tasted. We all agreed that the food was very good indeed. Beautifully served. The prices are average and good value. Will we return? 'You bet'!

Ate here last night. Arrived at 7.50, our bottle of wine and chutney tray were served to us at 8pm, we then had to wait until 9.30 for our main meal. I cant comment on whether or not the meals were good because by the time they arrived I was so hungry I would have eaten anything!

Had a lovely meal here. We were quite early eating ( about 7pm) so apart from 1 other table the restaurant was empty. Staff very pleasant and chatty. Huge menu choice with dishes that I have not come a,cross before. Food was excellent and reasonably priced.

Visited this Indian on a Saturday evening with family, a table of 5. The overall service was so slow, even the drinks took ages to come. We waited 1 hour and a half for our mains which were lovely, however we had no apology at all off our Waiter for the wait, he was blunt, rude and didn't care. I asked for a free round of drinks due to the wait and the Waiters response was "Its an hour wait for food" and I said "Why didn't you tell us that when we came in then?" and his response was "We don't have to" - I asked to speak to his Manager who came over, the Waiter then denied saying the above to me and called me a Liar!! rudest Waiter I have encountered! The Manager was very apologetic and gave us a free round of drinks and money off our bill. They really need to employ some staff who care about customer service, won't be returning again which is a shame as the food was really good.

Went here whilst in the area on business and was the only one in the restaurant.The staff (unsurprisingly) were prompt and attentive, offering me suggestions from the menu.The curry was good, if not slightly oily and the Keema Nann was lovely.Bill was modest for what I'd had.I'd certainly consider returning and would recommend it to those in the area for a decent (not sensational) curry.

Went here with my family for my dads celebratory meal and they did not pay any attention to us at all. People who came after us got served before us and we have been waiting for 2 hours for our meal which still hasn't arrived, we then decided to leave and before we left they charged us £12.50 for papadoms which was meant to be free and NO ONE in the staff apologised for the delay or for the poor service!! I looked back before we left and found the staff grinning and smirking to themselves, rude and disrespectful!!!

The menu is excellent, with more items available than most Indian restaurants. Unfortunately the food quality suffered, we suspect that they actually have extensive range of sauces and the meat gets only a brief acquaintance with the sauce before serving. The result is the meat has no curry flavour. However cut your meat into small pieces, mop up the sauce and it's ok. Prices are good, service good. Don't expect too much.

Food was of a very good standard with a very good hygiene rating . The staff were very accommodating and a good experience over all . I would recommend this location .

Simply the best Indian in and around Neath. Service is not quick, as this is not fast food. Nor is it just meat or veg covered in sauce. Everything is freshly cooked and certainly worth the wait. I have never been disappointed with any meal at the Plaza, and I like to try something different each visit. One not to be missed!

A return visit to the Plaza after almost a year. Very pleased to find food, wine and service remain at a very high standard. There is a very wide range of choices, from standard Indian restaurant fare to some quirky Bangladeshi "spins". The great asset of the Plaza is when they describe a dish as "hot", it is hot AND tasty. Too often we find "hot" is quite bland across the UK or is achieved at expense of flavour. A good choice of very reasonably priced and quaffable reds is always on offer. This time we had naga balti lamb and chicken Sylhety. Perfect for those who like their food both spicy and tasty. The chicken Sylhety is especially noteworthy. We enjoyed our repeat visit and will visit again.

Been here few times & had really nice meals! But this visit was really disappointing! My food was really bland, I've had rezalla many times before so I knew what to expect! Awful meal! Did not taste like any rezalla I've had before! No spice at all! My daughter had garlic rice, she asked me to taste her rice, it tasted of raw garlic, I did complain & the waiter said he would take the rice off the bill which he did, but her whole meal was ruined! Waste of money!!

The Plaza is in Walking distance so we have eaten there often before, in the resteraunt and for take away meals.Today the service was so poor I will not be returning there again.This evening i booked a table for four and arrived on time 7pm, The waiter sat us by the door and asked if that was ok, my wiofe said no, she would prefer to be sat away form the door in the resteraunt, the waiter then said there was no other table available, so why ask in the first place?So we ordered drinks and our meal very quickly as we knew the menu.We had been waiting some time, about half an hour and finished our drinks before our starter was served.we ordered another round of drinks which were served promptly but we then had a further long wait . I was about to tell the waiter not to bother when they brought out the meal at 8:50, almost two hours since our arrival.The food was really very good, hot and tasty, but late. We had really lost patience and this affected our enjoyment of the meal.The mistake Plaza made was continuing to accept and serve take away orders while their resteraunt was full of customers paying a premium to eat in and NOT recieveing thier meals in good time. A couple on another table in fact asked for their meal to take away as they were sick of waiting for table service, they recieved thiers almost immediatly. four starters, two rounds of drinks only 3 alcholic, four mains,two sides and 2 naan bread, £98.67.

My wife and I arrived at the restaurant at 6.45pm, and luckily ordered our meal before 3 large parties arrived. Nevertheless, the wait for both our appetisers and main course was appalling, and I was on the verge of paying for our drinks and leaving when service began. It took 1 hr 20 mins for our main course to arrive. At one point we ordered extra drinks, which didn't arrive for 15 mins. The most annoying part was that the take away collection area seemed to be having a quick turnover, with much more activity than the restaurant.Incidentally,the food we ordered was very nice, but I would have been happy with a tesco meal deal by that time. Our visit was early on a Friday evening, so perhaps this slow service is only indicative at the weekend?

As the title - the takeaway service was appalling! Over an hour before the meal arrived (and no mention of the duration when they processed my payment!) and when we get it home the meal was not the quality I was expecting - full of water, and the rice was congealed)I intend trying to get my money back from my bank, and won't be returning for food!!No customer service whatsoever after they had my money!How many other had the same experience tonight??Managers attitude was disgusting, it was as if he had more than enough customers to have to worry about looking after the restaurants reputation - how to keep customers - not!!
