The Grand Sultan in Neath Port Talbot

Been wanting to visit here for a while and finally managed to call in on a Sunday which happened to be a buffet. The food was beautiful especially for buffet food, everything was really fresh and full of flavour which tasted amazing. The place was spotless, and staff were very friendly and it had atmosphere… Looking forward to going back soon to taste the non buffet items

Have been to the sultan a few times and the food is always so nice will definitely be going back again. The staff are happy to help and have a good knowledge of the food on the menu

Have had many of meals from here both dining in and take away, can honestly say I haven't or won't ever go anywhere else. IT'S THE BEST FOOD EVER!!

Not for vegetarians. Went to the Sunday buffet for my birthday. They had one, bland veggie curry and that’s it. Pretty sure the onion bargees etc are cooked in meat juices as I was then sick for 2 days. Absolute joke, since Indian cuisine is traditionally all vegetarian. How hard would it be to leave the meat out of a couple of dishes?

One of the best restaurants we’ve been to! The flavors were bold and exciting, the portions were great, and the service was flawless. A must-visit for food lovers!

This. Is. The. Best. Indian. Ever. I walked into this restaurant and was instantly impressed with the interior and vibe the people are so kind as well , I ordered the best food and as soon I put it in my mouth my eyes flooded with tears and it was AMAZING it was as if I had literally entered heaven through food. I 100% recommend this place I love it. 10/10

A bit disappointed as I’ve always found this place to have really good food and service but then I read they only have a 1 star hygiene rating which has now made me dubious about going here .

Ordered food online , then cancelled straight away ( wrong restaurant , I live in England) No confirmation phone call. Rang back straight away ,company refused to cancel order saying they were too busy but agreed to refund later. rang back next day -no answer . E-mailed -no answer. Got through on third phone call 3 days later and was told that "it was my fault and chase it up with your bank boss" My point is I rang well within time to even prep order , I would have let this go( its only £35) But the managers final comment : " you can do what you like boss, you're not getting your money back" prompted me to leave a review. thanks. Welsh people think this is a 5 star curry, but for anyone with more sophistication than a paving slab it's really not that good. However the chips were excellent - I'd probably just go there regularly for a portion of chips. Price was reasonable

First time I went there last Sunday the 5th January 2025. What can I say, they have had a reward for a reason. It's literally beyond excellent, food, service, attention to detail. Everything

What can I say, can't fault anything.

Took my husband here last Friday 6th Dec for his 41st birthday. Our 2 teenage sons came too. We had a beautiful meal, starters, poppadoms dips and mains. Plus drinks. We couldn't fault the food. The only thing that I found awkward were the staff. They waited on us wonderfully but they bareley spoke or smiled. They need to relax alot more. Even when we were leaving we thanked them all near the entrance and noone acknowledged us. Relax guys, you do a great job but chill abit as I felt anxious everytime you approached us😁

You will not find a better restaurant to eat at in Swansea. One of the best meals I have had for a very long time. If you're looking for a Grand experience then this is absolutely the place for you. Come and check it out and you will not be disappointed ever. The boys were great not hovering not pushy. Just the right amount of attentiveness and the food was absolutely mouthwatering!

Have visited twice this month. First visit was very good. The house Thali was really good and great value. The second visit was not as good and the lamb was a little tough and I pulled a large hair out of my food. I did report it but was looked at like I had arrived from outer space. Can’t fault the service though and food on the whole is good. Slightly annoyed that all disabled parking spaces were full and not a badge in sight.

Called in for a takeaway and tried to preorder online but I was a little early so we parked in the car park and went in. I explained I couldn't order online and one of the waiters took my phone and took my order off it. He then gave me a card receipt. On getting home I found my main course was missing so contacted the. They checked their system and found the waiter hadn't put my meal on there. I then said that I would have to make do with no food and they said ok goodbye and hung up. This is the second time they have messed me about, the first time in the restaurant they thew my leftovers away even though I had requested to take them home. Poor service from what I thought previously was a very nice restaurant.

This was my first visit to The Grand Sultan, the food buffet was excellent, as was the service. My wife and I will definitely visit here again.

We went for the buffet and there was a good choice of spicy and non spicy food on offer. The food is always amazing here. The food awards are everywhere on show.

This is one of the best Indian Restaurants, the menu has alot of different dishes, plus all the usual. The food is delicious and reasonably priced.

Managed to be accommodated at short notice. We love this restaurant and again had another fantastic experience. Food was delicious and service warm and friendly. A firm favourite and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

Absolutely fabulous, sit down meal and takeaway. We've had dine in take out and delivery and never had a bad experience.

Come here with a group of 8 friends and no one had a bad word to say. Service was fantastic and the food was absolutely incredible. Everyone's dishes all looked different and had their very own unique taste and feel, which some times doesn't happen in other Indian restaurants, no one dish tasted the same. Loved the amount of selection on the starters also and again, all delicious. Will definitely be returning soon

Excellent food with very good service reasonably priced

Booked for 2.30 pm arrived on time no poppadoms,no onion bajis no chicken wings and no chicken in the tikka masala. Why bother offering a second sitting if your only offering scraps. Yes you topped up the few things I asked for extremely disappointed never to return or refer to potential customers 😕

Take away is excellent and always ready when collecting. Friendly staff. Bhajis are a bit disappointing though…very tasty but small and few in a portion for the price! Otherwise it would be perfect. Veggie options are the best we’ve had anywhere.

I visited on Saturday night with my Wife and Son for the first time Myself and my wife had the special Balti and my son a Vegetarian meal On the Sunday myself and my Wife were both ill, spent all day on the toilet and vomiting As this was the only common meal we had undoubtedly this was the problem I suspect either contaminated food or hygiene problem Monday today and still feeling the effects Will never go there again

The Grand sultan is hands down the best Indian Restaurant we have ever visited, from the Outstanding customer service and friendly staff, to the Absolutely Amazing food on offer. We go atleast once a week sometimes twice on some occasions. 5 Stars all round ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Terrible experience. On Friday 26th April myself and my family went for a meal at 6.30am. We placed our order for starters and mains. At around 7pm they came with our mains but we had not had had our starter ..... Due to this they took our main back and went to get out starter out. The starter was nice enough but when the main came it it was obvious it had been reheated as it was completely dried out. I complained as we did not eat the main We paid just under £32 for our starters and a bottle of wine. We paid in cash at the table. After leaving I then received a phonecall to say that he bill had not not been paid. I checked everything before leaving and even bought a glass of wine at the bar whilst we waited for our taxi (by cash). I find it unbelievable that this has happened and due to this would sadly never ever return.

Absolutely outstanding. We go to Indian restaurants white regularly and I must say this was by far the best I've been to, and that is saying something. We had to travel a bit further than usual for this one, but wow was it worth it. Everything from the chutney tray to the curries were something special. Staff were lovely and friendly. I had the chicken Naga first time for me to try this curry and I have found a firm new favourite Indian dish. I honestly can't wait to go back there again and have been recommending it to everyone and anyone who will listen. Don't think about it, just book it!

Top draw, can’t fault this place. As soon as me and my partner walked in we was greeted by a top gentleman called Jason, we was escorted to our table and we felt right at home. Maz took our order and was extremely helpful. Aamir couldn’t do enough for us. Our meal was absolutely delicious, couldn’t fault the 3 courses that we had and it was well worth the money. I can’t forget to mention the other gents working the floor and checkin up on us. Keep up the good work everyone. I highly recommend this place and I’ll be back again

Sunday buffet weI found the entire experience very disappointing only went because media hype suggesting that The Grand Sultan was the best in the country we ate on 25/02/2024 there was no atmosphere no background music and a poor selection of food that had been standing around for some time will we visit again No!and I question this Indian restaurant reviews in the press😟😟😟😟

First visit here. Food was the best Indian I've ever had. We will be returning.

Easily the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I made an order for collection and drove home to discover missing items in my order. I called the restaurant immediately to make them aware of the error and explained that the missing items were for my sister. The member of staff on the phone was so rude ‘well we can deliver them to you but will take half hour or just come and get them’ there was no apology for the mistake and inconvenience this caused me. I explained that I couldn’t wait and eat food in front of my sister and had no choice but to drive back to collect the items. I asked for a refund of £6 on the missing items to pay for the cost in petrol to drive back to the restaurant. The member of staff got defensive, and spoke to a member of his team and swore several times about me and my request. When I questioned the member of staff about the way he spoke about me, he never once apologised and ignorantly said ‘make a decision do you want the chips or not’. Unfortunately, this has completely changed my opinion on this restaurant and after years of eating here, I will never return.

I found this place delightful. the service was very nice some off the best i have ever had. the owner was very nice to me and his son was working that day with his cousin and they helped out a lot by getting my order and food. the drink choices were some of the best in the country. i wish i could com here every nigh and day for every meal. the ambience was very welcoming with the right music and smells. the food was cooked fast and perfectly. one of my favourite places in wales. would suggest to anyone- john smith

The food is nothing special. The restaurant has such a hype around it that you would expect something better than what you yourself could cook at home. Some of the dishes were bland. There are better Indian restaurants around. This one we won't go for again.

Grossly overrated. Decor is very old school and dated. Service is good. Food not so good, meat on starters and main was tough and tasted like it had been sitting around a while then reheated, food it self was very bland. Mediocre at best....

Fantastic service, beautiful food. First time coming here, was surprised how busy it was for mid January. We had a 7pm booking and on leaving there were still loads coming in. Shows how popular and good the place is. Cannot wait to return.

9 of our table tennis group went on a thursday night. Lovely curry and brilliant customer service. We look forward to going back March 2024. Thanks to all the staff at the Grand Sultan.

Unfortunately my main course went cold. They replaced it but it didn't have the same ingredients as first dish so ended up not eating it. Sides also went cold as served in China dishes and no hot plate provided. It was extremely busy.

We as a family visited the Sultan on Oct 25th for a 70th birthday treat for myself reaching this venerable age. Everything about the evening was absolutely spot on, the staff were attentive but not at all intrusive and the food was really good. All Ten meals were devoured with no waste returned to the kitchen. I would highly recommend the Sultan for any get together or just a quiet night out, x

The restaurant was very busy, very loud and the staff didn't seem to be able to cope. It took an hour between being seated a getting our food which was nothing special. Dissappinted.
