Fabian's Kitchen

Llangunllo, Powys
11/06/2019: Sudden decision to go out and chose Fabians and were not disappointed. Lovely tasty meals, delicious and good value. Great service and puddings to die for. Thank you Fabian.
01/06/2019: Used Fabians kitchen whilst on a short break, food was so good went back a second time. Highly recommend, plenty of choice, a must if you are looking for a thoroughly enjoyable and tasty meal.

Abduls Tandori Spice

Aberteifi/Cardigan-Teifi, Ceredigion
08/06/2019: Working away and with most of Cardigan apparently closed we sought out this restaurant tucked away by the river and with an adjacent public car park. They were very busy but found us a table almost immediately. Service was reasonably quick but as already stated it was very busy.
27/05/2019: Had a lovely takeaway meal from Abdul's while on a short break to Cardigan. All food was delicious and the portions were very generous. So tasty that we enjoyed every mouthful. The only disappointing aspect is that we live too far away to eat from here often - but will certainly call at Abdul' s if we come to Cardigan again.

Zeera Indian Restaurant and Takeaway

St. Mary, Powys
13/06/2019: We first went here, soon after it opened. Didn't like it at all, but thought that perhaps it was just having teething pains. Friends wanted to go last night, so we thought that we would give it a long overdue, second chance, especially after reading all the rave reviews.. Shouldn't have bothered. Food was bland, despite ordering it spicy. Served lukewarm and even the Chai Tea was cold. Portions skimpy and most certainly overpriced. Service mediocre at best. Indian food is one of favourite cuisnes and we have eaten it in many restaurants, including overseas ones and this has to be the worst Indian food we have had. VERY disappointing and we will certainly NOT be back.
11/06/2019: Superb food service suroundings & very good value for money. Would recomend to anyone who likes indian food

Lampeter, Ceredigion, >100£
17/05/2019: I stopped by Nehar tonight for the first time. the gentleman taking the order is really really nice, I didn't have to wait very long for the food at all and the food was delicious. I will stop by again for sure
16/05/2019: Ordered from here while we watched the football next door. Service was excellent and the food was outstanding. Definitely recommend.

The Palace

Llansantffraid, Powys
16/06/2019: We were here last night The location nearly put us off - glad it didn’t The interior was spotless and fresh A lovely meal freshly prepared and tasty Welcoming waiter Will certainly visit again
10/06/2019: We were staying nearby and there were not too many curry houses so we were pleased to find this restaurant. We had no expectations but were very happy with the choice and quality of the food. Good value good food.

Newtown East, Powys, >100£
15/06/2019: Had a lovely meal here with my Husband, welcomed by the lovely owner! Food is delicious and so well presented best in town in my opinion
18/05/2019: Ate here for the first time after walking past many times before while visiting Newtown. We were not disappointed. Wonderful food, clean restaurant throughout and interesting menu with different dishes to the norm. Service was very good and attentive, we had dishes recommended to us based upon our preferred tastes and they were perfect. Highly recommend.

Light of Asia

Aberystwyth Canol/Central, Ceredigion
16/06/2019: The food was good, but the service was a complete shambles. The staff just don't listen at all to the customers. My wife and daughter ordered starters as mains. I ordered a main course curry. We explained we wanted all the dishes to come together.
16/06/2019: The staff were quite welcoming and the atmosphere in the restaurant on a rainy mid week night was quite buzzy, so I was hoping for something better than the food which arrived.

the mirchi

Rhayader, Powys
28/05/2019: Our first visit was in early May when we ate in and had fabulous food, beautifully spiced and delicious. A few days ago we had a pre booked take away and I arrived toi collect it at the pre-appointed time. I had a very long wait, 30 mins (for which they apologised) and when i got the food home, which is a 5 minute drive the food was cold and oily. I don't have a microwave and we had £30 worth of food, 8 different dishes, so there was no way I could re-heat it myself. I only ate my naan bread and a bit of tepid dhaal, my husband ate his and said the flavours were good but it was spoiled by being cold. I think that probably it was ready on time and that despite checking in and paying for it I was overlooked. I think it was just waiting and going cold during the 30mins I sat in the lounge. Very disappointing. We are local accommodation providers and it has put me off recommending the Mirchi to guests. If only they had re-heated the food when they realised the mistake. The average rating is because the first visit was excellent and the second poor.
15/05/2019: As a Bulk standard Bangla Deshi restaurant this was poor. Service was fine but the food was fairly dire. The Menu was extensive which is always a worry. I went for a Tikka Masala to play safe but have to say it was too sweet and untasty. Compared to a takeaway meal at M & S or Waitrose it was second rate. Sadly Rhayader is a culinary disaster. Do not come here for the food however the Scenery is great.

Bengal Spices

Llandysilio, Powys
02/06/2019: Ate again the Bengal - party of 4.
24/04/2019: We ate here on Bank Holiday weekend and at Friday night 7.30 we seemed to be the only ones in the restaurant! The service was good, and the food was lovely. I asked for a slight variation on my curry, a mild dish to be made slightly more spicy, which they did a great job of! Me and my partner were left very satisfied... And not too bloated as we sometimes feel with other restaurants. Only decreased a star as I would have liked to have had a bit more meat chunks in the curry.... Was left with a lof of sauce by the end.

Shapla Tandoori

Lampeter, Ceredigion, >100£
11/06/2019: Over many years we always reckoned this restaurant as a second option to the one on the pier in Aberystwyth that closed several years ago. I’m disappointed mainly for my lovely friends from Scotland who joined us for a “good Indian curry”
09/06/2019: Visited this restaurant when we were renting a holiday cottage nearby. Food was delicious and staff friendly. Will definitely go again when in the area.

Llandrindod East/Llandrindod West, Powys
29/05/2019: Les locaux sont jolis et propres. Service très sympathique. Les serveurs sont agréables. Repas excellent et très bien servis. Merci
09/04/2019: Staying in a local campsite, we ordered a takeaway at the restaurant. It did not disappoint - everything ordered was delicious and the guy who served us was really friendly and helpful. We will definitely return, hopefully to eat a meal in the restaurant

Red Indigo

Crickhowell,Llangattock, Powys
09/06/2019: We ate here on a Saturday night after walking all day. Great service and very helpful staff ... good choice of specials although I would have like mine to be a bit spicier. It’s about a 10 minute walk from the town centre but worth the walk for a good meal.
31/05/2019: I absolutely love The Red Indigo. I like to sit in the lovely atmosphere of the restaurant . Staff are all lovely. I also often have a takeaway which is just as good.

Tiffin Indian Restaurant

Ynyscedwyn, Powys
29/05/2019: Had a takeaway. Staff very friendly and efficient. Prices very reasonable. Unfortunately the food was terrible. There was lots of it but it was tasteless. The worst curry I can remember. Really disappointing.
18/03/2019: Nice clean place, ordered starters and mains.all good but it was too much for us and we left about half of the food ( shame ) it was so good . Only a small place so book a table on a busy weekend

Welshpool Castle, Powys
31/05/2019: Went here after reading reviews on TA. Good choice on menu. Just had poppadoms and chutneys for starter and two main courses, 1 side dish and 1 rice and 1 naan bread. No alcoholic drinks just 2 halves of coke. Asked waiter to ask the chef to make one of the mains (a vegetable Madras) with a little less oil. Big mistake. When it arrived there was about an inch of oil covering the dish. Even the waiter said " still oily" smiled and walked off. It was greasy tasteless rubbish. Other dish was ok but nothing special. And the experience cost just under £40. Would not go again.
11/05/2019: Great menu. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the food is very tasty and good quality. You even get a free Tia Maria at the end of the meal if you are lucky! We have taken family and friends here on a number of occasions when they visit us, it is our go to Welshpool restaurant and has never disappointed. I am gluten free and the menu is well marked with allergens.

Red Indigo

Hay, Powys, 20-30£
15/06/2019: This is the fourth time we have eaten here, as we are relatively new to the area, and I have to say we have NEVER been disappointed. We are both foodies who love Asian food, and the dishes were fresh, full of flavour and arrived in timely fashion. The service was excellent, so friendly and attentive without ever being annoying. Love this place. We’ll be back!
12/06/2019: We are 3 Offa’s Dyke walkers who where looking for meal the night after the third leg of our journey, so it had to be a good meal to refuel the tanks and put energy back into our tired bodies.
