Worst take away meal we’ve ever had from an Indian. Had a Makhani and a Mowgli. The food was very watery and absolutely tasteless. Even the pineapple ring had no taste. We’ve had this experience there before but decided to give it another try. Most of my husband’s food went in the bin.

Our meal was the blandest we’d ever had from a Bangladeshi restaurant. The food seemed devoid of spice! Although the owner and staff are very nice and the venue is pleasant, it just wasn’t a good eating experience for us, although this seems to contradict other reviews. Perhaps it was an off night. We certainly weren’t asked if we’d like medium, spicy or not spicy. We like to support local places but I’m afraid we won’t go again.

Called for a takeaway and really enjoyed the food. In the area for a short break and decided on a curry. Don't be put off by the exterior as kerb side appeal is slightly lacking. Food was excellent. Probably up there with the best we've had and we're from West Yorkshire where curry, and perhaps weed are the staple diet so we should know!!!

We haven't been to this restaurant since before Covid as we are not local to the area. We visited last night and the food was as good as it ever was, we have never had a bad meal here. The staff are friendly and very attentive and the service and food was excellent. The restaurant itself was quieter than it used to be and wonder if its to do with recovering from the Covid situation. We are back in the area in May and can't wait to visit again

Stayed in the town overnight and treated ourselves to a takeout…. What a treat !!! Really tasty food, made fresh and just to the spice level I ordered on my main meal… highlights for us were the Chicken Tikka naan and the Garlic Chilli main…. We normally eat here with 4/6 of us but these are crazy times and our eating buddies are locked down. It's a great shame that the linen /flowers and candles are missing at the moment and hopefully these touches will be back soon. Our starters were delicious ,home made bhajis and prawn puree, served with a crisp salad/mango chutney. My main dupiaza which was always one of my favourites so decided to try it again accompanied with lemon rice (Robbie obliges us with this off the menu rice) delicious. My partners pathia was also very good ,served with a smile. The only problem with BS is the slow service, especially with the increased takeaways at the moment. It's not a problem for us to chill and have a drink while we wait .The wine is always good and very reasonable. Another lovely dinner ,thanks Robbie .

We ate in the restaurant and it was absolutely superb food. Couldn’t fault the taste, quality or portion size. Service was a little slow due to it being a very busy Friday night but Robbie was kind and apologetic, offering us each a complimentary alcoholic drink to make up for it. Would highly recommend!

Ate again at the Bengal Spices early Saturday evening. Quite busy as large party in and as always, plenty of takeaways. Great atmosphere - crisp white linen tableclothes and napkins - low lighting and everywhere very clean. Party of four adults. We all had starters - 2 had the salmon tandoori, husband had shami kebab with omellete on top and i had the chicken chatt - all tasted fabulous - served with small side salad. Mains we had a few curries and big sis and I had the Sizzling chicken shasklik - tasted awesome and comes sizzling ans smoking on a platter with onions and peppers.- tastes amazing. We share a tandoori rooti bread - fabulous. Wine decent prices under £20 a bottle. We finished our meal with cheesecake. Service always with a smile - as Robby and his team always look after us - granted there is soemtimes a wait - but we dont mind and the food here is always worth waiting for. We were shown to our table on arrival and drinks order taken, the drinks came within a few minutes. We were impressed with the menu as there were quite a few dishes we had never heard of - makes a welcome change. The poppadums and chutney tray were excellent. Main meals did not disappoint. Chicken Lawajabb? was wonderful, my husband had Jalfreezi anbd always complains 'not hot enough'. Not this time. All the food was very flavoursome and served hot. Wishy we lived nearer

Saturday night. They were able to fit 7 lads in no problem. We ordered some beers and waited to be served 45 mins popadoms showed there face! The starter was 1 hour and 40 minutes and the main 2 hours 10. As a few were drinking it felt as though we were being milked for more drinks which are very expensive.(realised a bit late) the main was below par. Over all found it expensive and slow. We were then over charged as the bloke on the reception was not ticking what was being paid of our bill. Wont return in a hurry neither will my friends!

We ate here on Bank Holiday weekend and at Friday night 7.30 we seemed to be the only ones in the restaurant! The service was good, and the food was lovely. I asked for a slight variation on my curry, a mild dish to be made slightly more spicy, which they did a great job of! Me and my partner were left very satisfied... And not too bloated as we sometimes feel with other restaurants. Only decreased a star as I would have liked to have had a bit more meat chunks in the curry.... Was left with a lof of sauce by the end.

Our first visit to this restaurant and a good experience. A warm welcome from the owner, dining tables with crisp white linen and lagers while we looked at the menu. Food arrived after an acceptable interval and it was piping hot. The Roop Chanda Classic is a whole fish on the bone in a Bengali sauce - delicious. We also tried a vegetable Sagwala, a dish I have not seen before in a restaurant. This was also spot on. Our third dish was a Lamb Naga. This is an old favourite in many restaurants and it was definitely up to the mark. Recommended.

Family holiday in surrounding area, booked a table for 7:30 this evening. However we didn't actually get seated until after 8:30, I have never booked a table somewhere and still had to wait to actually be seated over an hour later. I felt like we were extras in a faulty towers sketch. Staff looked like they had a bit of a rough night which reflected in their service. I felt like we were being served by lurch from the Adams Family. After our starter we all needed new cutlery and the waiter seemed to just throw the cutlery at a person at the end of the table to pass up to others. We were then asked to pass plates down our table but, was told that the plates were hot after we had touched them. Once we actually got our food it was delicious but, not sure it was really worth the long wait. We were all pretty hungry and to begin eating just before 9 isn't acceptable when we booked the table for 7:30.

When we arrived at Bengal spices we were handed menus and as barely anyone was there we felt we would be fine however we ordered our meals at 8.15 shortly after we arrived so we waited quitely for our starters to come absolutely aweful it took 45 minutes to just get starters on a night which wasn't even busy. We then had to wait an extra half an hour to get our meals which were ok but we didn't enjoy them as after we had waited so long we didn't feel it was worth it. And to put the cherry on top of this calamity of an evening they then had the audacity to charge us £3.50 for tap water. Never going there again

A hard place to describe. The restaurant and food very good..............but don't have a takeaway!!!!We have actually eaten in the restaurant and enjoyed the meals.Three years ago we got a takeaway from them and it was awful. On Saturday 19th August we thought we would try another...........Once again it was awful. We ordered two different meals one with chicken and one with prawns. The amount of food colouring used was far too much ....both meals were bright red and there was hardly any chicken or prawns to be found. We left most of our meals. Returning the meals would have been futile because they could easily say we had eaten the prawns and chicken. It will be a long time if ever before we have another takeaway from them. The disparity of eating in and takeaway is unbelievable.

Small restaurant, Indian cuisine, clean and tidy. Menu over sized, reasonable quality but overpriced for the quantity. Restaurant could be warmer, portable heaters fail to maintain ambient temperature. Food needs to be served on hot plates also at an higher temperature, you can eat quickly or eat cool food. Nothing worse than cold curry. Also take away, but seating area not shut off just one large room. Every time door opens restaurant loses heat. Service not the best. Establishment appears to be part of larger concern which could explain the shortcomings.

Visited here with my partner, but didn't stay very long. We were greeted and seated straight away. We ordered with a man who's English was very broken, we didn't mind this as we were in an Indian restaurant. However, as he couldn't understand us he started getting very frustrated with us. We then came over with 2 Kobra and we had ordered 2 coke. He then threw them down on the table and started shouting in Indian at us. We stood up to leave and another man came over and told us to sit back down and he would serve us. By this point we were horrified that this was allowed to happen in the first place. Surely this man should not be dealing with PAYING CUSTOMERS!?!? As we were leaving we could here the 2 men shouting at each other in front of everyone else in the restaurant. We understand we didn't eat so don't know how good it could of been, however with a welcome like this we were going to stick around! Worse experience at an Indian ever!!!!

Myself and family went in the middle of the week. We were met at the door by a friendly face who greeted us.The food was excellent and hot when served.I ordered Nargis kebab for starter and a prawn Bhuna which were both full of flavor. I would recommend going at least once.

we just turned up for a quiet last minute decision meal. they have new options on the menu. we tried one each and a side with a nan plus poppadoms. wow this must be the best food i have tssted. we were both blown away by the experience. superb food superb service. instead of getting 2 takeaways why not eat in once and try the new dishes on the menu.they will take your breath away. will definately return with friends and family in near future.

We ate on a Saturday evening in April and eaten here many many times and the Bengal Spices remains our favourite Indian Restaurant. Its spotlessly clean - crisp white linen table cloths and napkins. We had not eaten here since November when the caravan season closed so really looked forward to our meal again here.New menus and a number of new dishes on menu and intend to give them a try this year.Chicken Shaslik still remains my favourite and so tasty ..their Indian home made breads are fantastic and Naan bread is amazing taste and not like other Naan breads we have tasted. The flavours they pack into their meals is second to none.Service is consistently high and nothing too much trouble for Robbie and his team.If you love Indian food, perfect service and great atmosphere - this is a "Must Try" restaurant.

Been twice, on Wednesdays, when they do their "banquet" night, i.e. a three course dinner for £10. Any starter, any main and any side dish. While some of the dishes were very good, like king prawn balti, other dishes were mediocre, like their tarka dahl, which had almost no spice at all. Their nan breads, of various kinds, are delicious. We were 10 people and the service was very slow. It took over 2 hours to get our main dish, meaning that although we arrived at 7 pm it was closer to 9:30 pm when we actually ate! Meanwhile, you are urged to consume more and more drinks. They serve Cobra beer, not the best lager, and it costs £4.20 a pint. They also have bottles of mineral water on the table, without asking, which cost £5 a bottle. This is obviously how they make up their money, as £10 for the meal would not earn them much. Be sure to ask for tap water! It's not bad, but neither is it great... just a typical Bangladeshi joint. The staff are very nice and it is popular and has a good reputation, so you probably won't be disappointed, so long as you are patient. But I won't be going again a hurry...

booked for 5 of us - we were the only ones sitting down when we arrived at 7.30pm. After 20 minutes we were asked if we wanted drinks. It took several attempts for the waiter to understand what "vodka and coke" meant. Another 20 minutes passed and still no drinks. We asked again, and the drinks were delivered. Only to be told they had no vodka......We ordered our food. And waited. And waited. And, well, waited.....At 8.45pm we asked what was happening, to be told "it won't be long".Nearly 9pm before it arrived. Two of us had ordered chicken biryani. We were served chicken tikka biryani, neither of us particularly liked tikka but, as we had already waited so long we took it. Two others were told they had run out of mushrooms so their chicken & mushroom balti was just chicken balti, and the mushroom pilau rice was now just pilau rice.We were given our tikka meals for free (neither of us enjoyed them) but the service was appalling. Cannot believe how bad it was after reading all the positive reviews!!!!!!!!!!!!

The options on the menu are amazing! We have never been to an Indian where they offered so many different meals. The food was beautiful, the lamb was cooked to perfection in the sagwala. However when given the dessert menu, we waited 15 minutes until the waiter came back to us (even though we were the only ones in the restaurant), so by then we were fed up and just wanted the bill. Apart from that hiccup, everything else was perfect.

Another fantastic Meal at the Bengal Spices and is our favorite Indian Restaurant. Food is tasty and good portions. Crisp white table cloths and great atmosphere. Tastes of various curries are fantastic and loose no taste if you take them home and freeze them - which we do. As we do not live in the area at the end of the caravan season we take 4 curries home to freeze and have through the Winter Months, as nothing comes close to the tastes they manage to get into their curries - just awesome... We have eaten in lots of Indian Restaurants and takeaways in Liverpool where we live but nothing even comes close to the Bengal Spices. Robbie and his team always make you feel very welcome and nothing too much trouble for them, their coffee is so good too and gthey also do a really good value Wednesday offer - not to be missed. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED RESTAURANT

What I mean is that this restaurant beside serving excellent food at reasonable costs, have lovely table cloths. Our family feel that when proprietors lay the table as they should then they want to offer the best to their customers. The two public houses in Llanymynech offer no such table 'manners' as we see them. So well done for the owner to make the entire meal a memorable one.

Myself and hubby decided to have our dinner here tonight. We have a takeaway from here on a regular basis, and we have never been disappointed. The food, from the poppadoms, starter, through to the main course was wonderful. All ingredients were really fresh, and the food was piping hit and so tasty. It has had a lick of paint, and the decor has been updated and also a new menu. I would recommend here everytime, and when family or friends come to visit we end up here 99 times out of 100. Top notch. Well done to everyone here.

We visited this Restaurant whilst visiting the area. We looked on Trip Advisor as we always do and it got good reviews. We were not disappointed. We eat a lot in Indian food from throughout the UK and we were surprised to find such a great venue in the middle of a small town on the outskirts of Wales. The atmosphere was friendly and the restaurant was quite busy, the staff were helpful and attentive. We were not in a hurry and wanted to have a few drinks at our table before we ordered our food but we did notice that one table were complaining of the time they were having to wait for their food. A lot of take away food was also being ordered. Our food came came out on time when we ordered and was delicious, we will definitely be going back when we are next in the area.

Does not look much from outside but inside it is very smart and stylishStaff very friendly and service excellent. The six course banquet on Wednesday evening my wife and I had was superb and what a bargain. It includes poppadum to start and dips ,any starter(big choice) any main(big varied choice and not only curries) any rice, any nan and any side dish.My wife and I love the Saag Panir(spinach and melted cheese) I had a delicious main dish called a Paranthia it was sweet and sour lamb and the lamb was soft and the taste of the sauce divine. Their naans are nice particularly the Peshwari .Drinks are a bit expensive but Cobra lager is nice and always is dear. However the bargain delicious food more than makes up for this

Notable that all the dishes were not too oily, spicy or salty, which can sometimes be the case from Indian/Bangladeshi restaurants.
