Great restaurant. About 10 of us from the motorbike club came here Saturday night as nowhere in Rhayader seems to be able to cope with a big table on a weekend evening. Vlad looked after us real well, made us feel vey welcome. The food came out pretty quick and was spot on. Everyone enjoyed the food and the ambiance - we had a great evening there. Highly recommended, both for a decent curry and especially for big groups.

Visited this resturant whilst staying in Rhayder and glad we did. It was quiet as it was midweek but there was a warm welcome. We enjoyed Masala Jumbo Prawns starters and a normal prawn cocktail. This was followed by Chicken Balti,Special mix Balti,Garlic and Honey Nan and Special Pilau Rice. There was plenty of meat in the dishes and the food tasted good. I would use agin when Im in the area. One further note is that the waiter was very attentive and really helpfull.

Despite some previous reviews we ordered takeaway from here. I have to say everything was faultless very flavoursome and hot when we collected it… would definitely recommend going here… I had a Chicken Dansak it was spot on. I used to work in a curry house for 4 years so I’d like the think I know my curry’s :) Also the Bhajis and Mint sauce were phenomenal!

We ordered a pick-up take away for 1800. It was ready at around 1815. We were 3 adults. Had one starter, three mains (all different), one rice, two garlic naans. All very good except the naans which were rubbery and not very garlicky. Too much food for us tbh. We would get another takeaway. Ordering on-line was easy. Extensive menu. I paid by credit card. The restaurant looked jaded to my quick look. It was empty so no atmosphere. The staff were lovely. There is a free public car park just around the corner.

Amazing food, incredible taste and flavour. The Behari kebab starter was absolutely delicious. The Modhu Minty Lamb is incredible, not hot but bursting with flavour, the lamb was so tender it just fell apart, the veg rice was lovely and the special naan was just that! Fantastic. Excellent waiter service, knew his stuff, tell him your tastes and he will advise accordingly as to what I would like etc. overall the eating experience was top notch, just wish they took card payments, cash only is a bit awkward for large bills. Good value for money though.

Tamarind chicken dish was amazing, the garlic honey naan was also special. Very nice meal, even had some leftover for work the next day.

Apprehensive re 1* rating but barmaid in local pub praised the good food so we gave it a go. No problems at all. Lovely food. Ample portions. Excellent service. Don't worry - it's delicious.

A completely new menu, with lots of the old ones too. There are far too many to name, so you'll just have to go and try the place out. Indian cuisine, as you'd expect from a well liked restaurant.

One look at the food hygiene rating and that, like most places to eat in Rhayader you can only pay with cash, this was a poor experience. As another reviewer said the chip shop wasn't much better so, if you want to eat in Rhayader, bring your own food.

My husband and I shared the most wonderful meal this evening in The Spice Hut. We had starters and main courses. It was all freshly cooked and extremely tasty. Our waiter was Vlad, he was attentive and charming. It was a pleasure talking with him. We will soon be back and can highly recommend this lovely restaurant.

Decided to go to the Spice Hut for our 30th Anniversary and so glad we did. The food was superb from starter of onion bhaji to vegetable bhuna and nan. The service was excellent and Vlad looked after us impeccably. Will definitely go again.

Arrived without a booking and was seated straight away. Mixed starter was plenty for 4 and great selection. The mains ordered were a great portion and full of flavour and good portion of meat. The Garlic and honey Nan was amazing .

Really good food, friendly staff, good fun. They do sell beers, wines etc. They only take cash. Lighting is very bright so take some light bulbs out and save on energy

We are staying in Rhayader we see the spice hut and decided to try its honestly cannot fault the place the food is amazing staff very attentive garlic rice the best I’ve had onion bhaji lovely and a prawn house special one of the best dishes I have had in a Indian of ever here again would defo return.

Me and a friend were away for a motorbike weekend and were staying overnight in Rhayader. We went and had a walk about rather than eating at hotel. We found the Spice Hut and thought we would try it. The place was very clean, and we had a warm welcome from Ash and his big smile was infectious. After discussing what we like we had two recommendations both dishes are dishes we had not tried before. When they arrived they were both delicious and there was more than we could finish. We later met the chef Mizan and thanked him. We will defiantly use again.

Great curry house. Pickle tray (especially their "red sauce") is soooo good. Nicest peshwari nan I've had in a long time and same can be said for their butter chicken(asked them to make it 2 chillis strength instead of 1 and it was perfect). Great staff and reasonably priced as well. Definitely be back next time we're in Rhayader.

Whilst the service was good the food was rather bland.Lacked seasoning and curries fairly runny. Edible but disappointing and had far better.

Very good meal and service. Onion bhaji and fish tikka and chicken saag balti. Ignore a misleading comment online saying they only serve soft drinks. However they do have an alcohol licence and so serve alcohol. Highly recommended.

Had the pleasure of dining here back in October 2021, Lamb Naga Curry. Without a doubt the best curry I have eaten to date, loads of flavour and heat, extremely generous with the amount of lamb, and perfectly cooked! If I can still remember how good a curry was almost a year on, it must be bloody good! 5*

Ordered a takeaway for 6 people. A 40 minute wait but when we saw how popular this place was we could understand. Busy in the resto & the takeaway. We had a variety of meals with a variety of heat options and every one of us was completely overwhelmed by how delicious each meal was. Faultless. The staff are friendly and attentive and we will definitely be eating from here again when we return. Top class.

Arrived around 6.30pm whilst still very hot our]tside. Ordered a glass of water and a drink each. Waited 15 mins, no water. Food arrived quickly, nice sized portions but not too much taste. Water finally arrived after asking for the 3rd time. Not busy as only one other table there. Pricey for what you get.

Really good meal tonight from Spice Hut! Friendly service, reasonably priced, and would certainly go back! Mushroom pilau and Chicken Tikka where the real highlights but all was really good! Will certainly be back! Thank you

Having been to this establishment numerous times before whilst visiting Rhayader, we were very disappointed with the meal we had on this occasion. Chicken tikka Masala slightly hot was very disappointing. Chicken was hard as though it had been nuked in the microwave and very sweet !! My Husband’s Lamb tikka Masala was very sweet also .. the Nan bread we had was terrible.. so we will be given this establishment a miss in future ..

Both of us couldn't fault our meal. Everything was fragrant & tasted absolutely lovely. Portions were large. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, they were very attentive. We will definitely be dining there again.

Poor service. 30 minutes waiting for the order to be taken. Not even acknowledged us and was chatting to other people. Left and got a "we're busy", no bye, no sorry, nothing.

I went to the restaurant a couple of times but the card machine was not working, I don't understand Restaurateurs that do not allow themselves a fighting chance by not affording customers as many payment channels as they can!

This is a gem of a place, really fresh tasty dishes, highly recommended.

I don’t like posting negative reviews. I went into this restaurant with low expectations but this was an even worse experience than what I had imagined. We were not given the table we wanted even though the restaurant was empty. Dine in customers are not given preference over the number of takeout orders… as a result we had to wait 1 hour 15 minutes for our food to arrive. The food was largely atrocious with no semblance of what authentic curry tastes like. I would not recommend this place to anybody. The place also advertises that the ‘card machine temporarily not working’. It appears that this is the ruse the restaurant has used since last year (see other reviews) clearly inconveniencing customers and only to save a small transaction fee on card payments. I hate leaving negative reviews but there was honestly nothing positive about our experience dining at this restaurant. Will never visit again.

Weekend away and ordered a takeaway, after ordering it said 40 minutes so after arriving at the correct time I then had to wait a further 25 minutes. Microwave style meals and oven chips.

Ordered online for collection and it said it would be ready in 40 minutes. Got there on time and had to wait another 30 minutes. No apology was given for the wait. Spent 96 quid and wasn't given any extras, not even a single poppadom. Got home to tuck into the most bland curry I've ever had. Most of the curries were creamy when they shouldn't have been. Also forgot the onion bhajis that I ordered. BLAND.

Worst curry I've ever had. Waited 1.5 hrs to get a microwave spec curry. Got 3 different types of curry all of which tasted the same. Just terrible and tasteless. Go elsewhere.

3 different types of curry. All the same from the same microwave. Co-op is cheaper with better customer service. Should not take 70 minutes to ping 9 Currys that all looked and taste the exact same. Should of gone Chinese.

Really nice food. Super friendly staff. We had the gourmet meal which was amazing. Warning though, make sure you're hungry as the portions are huge.

Amazing! Had a takeaway curry here last weekend on a holiday stay. I had the Chicken Pilli Pilli and it was very good. Would recommend.

As new years eve thought why not get take away. Had longer than expected wait, but Ash was extremely busy & kept apologising. Offered me a drink while I waited, then gave me a bottle of coke on the house! Top quality food and definitely worth the wait 10 out of 10

Exceptional. Having eaten Curries from Bombay to Bolton this is one of the best. First class service and really great food. I'll be back.

Really nice meal, one of the nicer indians we have had. Welcoming and friendly staff. Was just a shame there wasn't any deserts or hot drinks available for the end of the meal.

Staying in the local area for a week, thought we would have a break from cooking and try the local Indian. Terrible customer service on the phone, guy did not know the names of the dishes on the menu, has to get the chef out to take my order… fair enough he could of been new…. Nope that was a red flag…. Was told 30-40 minutes…. Turned up 45 mins…. Got told to wait 10mins…. Asked for some poppadoms as I had to wait 10 minutes even though I gave them extra time to prepare my food…. The best customer service response “ your food has been ready for 15 minutes we been keeping it warm” so why have I been asked to sit and wait for my food to go dry and horrible? Let’s just hope the food tastes better than the service Don’t know why any local would want to use this local takeaway.

Excellent food and service second to none!

We stayed in Rhayader for four nights and decided to have a curry on our last night.. We had a little wait for the food. But this isn't a problem as the food was excellent. Clearly it was freshly prepared and so was well worth the wait. I would even say it was the best Curry I have ever tasted. So much flavours. The service was good and polite. If we visit Rhayader again we will definitely be returning to the Spice Hut.

Chicken pili pili was outstanding. My wife had a Balti which was the best she'd had in long time. Only sell soft drinks so bring your own alcohol Very very friendly staff. Recommend

i normally only give positive reviews especially when things have been so tough for everyone .. I was told to steer clear of this place however i had visited this place before they moved and the service was great however since they moved my experience was awful for the following reasons ! Our party of 6 entered i was told to sit at a table and we would be seen straight away ! 40 minutes later we were seen however within those very long 40 minutes we observed nothing but complaints from sitting customers and take outs , this should have been a warning to us ! We waited 2 and half hours for the food after numerous complaints and broken promises of it will be 10 minutes ! At one point all you could hear was the chefs and waiters arguing it was like something from Gordon Ramsey's Knight mare kitchens . A real shame from what it was to what it is today .. they need more staff and stop making false promises . Shame .

Outstanding. I found this restaurant by accident and I'm so glad I did. The food and the service was excellent. Alin was front of house and what a lovely man he was. Very attentive and great fun. I was there with two friends who also had a great time. We all had the usual poppadoms and onions and chutney. Then we had onion bhajis. Which were crisp on the outside and soft in the middle. For main course I had chicken pasanda and lemon rice. My friend had coconut rice. We shared a peshwari nan. The restaurant doesn't have a liquor license. So bring your own beer/wine. They do have soft drinks. I just wish this restaurant wasn't 200 miles away from my home because I'd be going every week. It's well worth a visit. There's no car park, but there's a pay and display car park around the back.

Good service, Very Good meals, not expensive prices, very clean. Will definatley go again, an enjoyable evening.

Ordered on line which was extremely easy and was ready for collection in 1/2 an hour or so. Seem nice people. Polite. Had no problem with the food all really good. 1st time we've used them but will do again.

Great hospitality after visiting Wales, and limited for food places which cater for vegetarians or halal, these guys were a lifesaver for fresh, Halal delicious food! Warning ⚠ all of the fish and chip shops fry their chips with their meat!!!

Went for a meal tonight and ordered the chicken vindaloo, although the meal was nice it was not at all spicy, I like my curry’s hot and this was by no means hot! If you like your curry’s hot then this is not for you

Excellent. As good as it gets and I should know. Staff were good. I had takeaway and portion sizes were huge. In fact I put half back in fridge and had it for tea following day. Huge portions, great quality food, plenty of chicken. Will use again.

The food was delicious and fantastic, the staff extremely polite. Ordered a takeaway on line, very good and easy to do. The restaurant looked spotless and very clean and well laid out for social distancing. Would strongly recommend eating in or takeaway.
