The atmosphere and services i experience was tremendous. The service persons are really welcoming and helpful to choose your tasteful cuisine. The chef itself brings out his smile into the food which makes the experience even better.

The food and service was absolutely excellent. My first impression was that the restaurant was pristine clean. First time eating here. Staff ( Saiful & Mahi) allowed us to enjoy our meal at a leisurely pace, never felt hurried at all. Spent several hours enjoying really fresh food. Highly recommend, very impressed all round.

On our holiday and decided to go out for an Indian meal.Found Barhar after searching google for recommendations. The food was absolutely beautiful, authentic and tasty, with perfect size portions. Warm, welcoming and friendly atmosphere and our server Sifun was attentive without being overbearing. Overall, highly recommended!!

The chicken madras I had as a takeaway last night was as good as it gets. Been eating curries for 50+ years, and this was old school. Hope all my future curries are the same. Highly recommended.

Warm friendly beautifully decorated Indian restaurant with a very wide ranging menu, I ate vegetarian, Malai kofta and peshwari naan, with chaat for a starter, everything was well presented, and delicious - perfectly prepared. The best was the masala chai, authentically flavoured, highly recommend coming just for Chai!!

Garlic rice was full of onion chunks, so I'm not sure why? I didn't feel any garlic in the garlic rice. We ordered lamb but got chicken, which was annoying however they apologised but we didn't have time for swap as the food comes slow so we ate the chicken. The sauce itself was very tasty, and my husband really enjoyed his korma, which apparently was better than other places he tried.

Had a table for 6 on a Monday night for the 50% off deal. Food and service were great, fantastic value for money.

Here as a weekend get away and wanted a takeaway so decided to have Indian, one of my favourites but I always come away disappointed with the offerings. The same can not be said for here this is quite possibly the best Indian takeaway I’ve ever had absolutely delicious!! All piping hot and for 2 people that have several different curry’s between us they all tasted different the butter chicken was exceptional as was the nann breads. If we are ever passing by again we will definitely be back.

Have eaten here for the last couple of weeks. The £13.99 3 Course midweek offer is great value and the chicken tikka masala is delicious

Stopped here on a Monday with a work colleague. The service was excellent, the food was tasty and plentiful. Which considering we had the fixed menu for £13.99 was truly surprising. I had the chicken jalfrezi with pilau rice. There was so much, I couldn't eat it all. Having frequented a fair few Indian restaurants both in the UK and abroad, I would rate this one as being in the top 5..

Our servers were lovely, Sayfal and Tanjir, the food was really good and i would recommend dining here.

Ordered from Bahar a few months ago for a change, and was blown away with the quality...its now become our go-to Indian takeaway in Newtown. All the dishes are delicious, my personal favorites are the Butter Chicken, liberally topped with some kind of rich ghee mix, as well as the Pasanda & Makahni dishes. The starters are delicious, as are the rice, chips and other sides. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely curry, however seemed very quiet place

Returning here for the 4th or 5th time. I only wish i lived closer than Lincolnshre, Engjand or we’d be here weekly. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Our server, Saiful, was very helpful and efficient. We come here whenever in Wales which unfortunately isn’t as often as we’d like. Today. The did was as good as we remembered. So good that we have, once again, ordered a take-out so we can eat it again back home in lincolnshire. Thank you Bahar (& Saifur). See you next time we’re within an hours drive!

We live in Lincolnshire, England , so too far to come here on a regular basis. We discovered this delightful restaurant a few years ago and come whenever we’re in Wales. So after driving around Ireland for a couple of weeks we did the Dublin-Holyhead ferry and straight away thought of returning here. And tonight we have. The staff were as welcoming as before and the food was as delicious. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough. See you next time we’re in Wales!

We called in for something to eat and I must say the food and service was excellent the Bahar is definitely one of the best places to eat in Newtown and definitely the best Indian food and that's every time we have been.

The food was brilliant, very tasty. Though we did order cheese Naan and we had plain naan instead, but it will still very delicious. The two gentleman who greeted us were very friendly and attentive. Overall, best place to eat in Newtown.

Have been a loyal customer for many years. Tonight’s experience is ridiculous. Ordered at 6.45 to be delivered at 7.15. Arrived at 8.15, totally the wrong order with all the curry’s bashed about. A complete mess in the bag. Had to ring 29 times to get through to the restaurant. Currently waiting for the correct order. It is now 8.30. We won’t be using again.

dinner was lovely however I ordered 2 lamb rogan josh and what I received was 1 lamb rogan josh and 1 chicken rogan josh which I presume is cheaper than the lamb.

Absolutely appalling service. Was continually told it was on it's way but over an hour late. Much of the food was lukewarm. Spinach dish was vile.

Warm welcome and friendly attentive service from Bishal. Tasty dishes well spaced tables. Felt lighting could have been dimmed for an evening setting. Perhaps a table light or candle would transform the atmosphere. Overall a most enjoyable evening and experience, thank you!

Food was delivered to wrong address. Tried to contact restaurant for 20 minutes to explain I had put wrong address and no answer. Very unhappy had to then contact the restaurant again after knowing it had been delivered for them to say I have to wait for the delivery man to get back to restaurant to then go and collect it and deliver to correct address.
