Brecon Tandoori in Powys

Had a fab time. Food was very tasty, fresh, hot and very well presented. Staff were fab as well. Will definitely make a return visit.

We ate here on a Friday night in September, needed to book as it quite busy. Fantastic food, friendly and attentive staff and reasonably priced. Thoroughly recommended and we’ll certainly book again when we next visit Brecon.

Excellent curry, ordered online and delivered to the door. Really impressed with this Indian takeaway, food really tasty and high quality, great choice after a busy day out walking.

Good quality food, good service. It was busy and we realised perhaps we should have booked but they managed to find us a table. Would happily return if we were local.

After 40+ years of eating Indian food, I would have to say without a doubt that this place comes in my top 5. We had only planned to have one meal out and we chose to eat here, and returned 2 nights later. The quality of the meat was excellent, large chicken pieces beautifully tandoored, and the lamb, melt in the mouth. Great to have a lovely Atlantic IPA on draft!! Definitely revisit if I am anywhere near in the future. Friendly staff also.

We went to Brecon Tandoori on Friday 12/7/24 and hadn’t booked. They accommodated the 4 of us and we are so glad they did. Wow the food was absolutely first class, best curry we have had in a very long time. The meat was tender, dishes were flavoursome and service was knowledgeable, attentive and just right in terms of feeling looked after - Hassan was great! What a find! Can’t recommend highly enough - if you get the chance go for it!!

Best Indian curry I have had in years, my wife and I do a lot of travelling and we love Indian food, what a gem excellent service and friendly staff.

Been fancying this Indian for a while, gave it a go, bit of hit and miss, food was very good if a bit different, starters bit on the small portion size, main meal served on a plate rather than in separate bowl's to help yourself, but food quality was very nice, side dishes also good quality, staff could have been a bit more organised and friendly, slow service but no big deal, what was a big deal the toilet facilities were poor, both gents and ladies hand dryers didn't work properly and no hand towels as a back up, bill was quite expensive in comparison to other restaurants in area, would we return, well ???

We were a group of 7. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. Really enjoyed, would definitely go back.

Ashamed to say that even though we are local and the restaurant has been open 18 months, this was the first time we have visited. So pleased we went - couldn't fault anything. The food was amazing the Tandoori Chicken was so tasty - lip smacking good! The Thawa Lamb was so tender and as spicy as my husband likes it (we did ask for it to be hot). The Keema Nan was light and fluffy. The young lad serving was really nice and so polite. The food came to the table promptly and hot and obviously fresh! The starters we had were fabulous too! Finally we have found an Asian restaurant close to home where we can really enjoy the food! We only went because I didn't feel like cooking but having grown up on Asian cooking - this restaurant did not disappoint and we will definitely be back! Thank you to all the staff, especially the young waiter.

Excellent authentic Bangladeshi food. Tastes like home food! Recommend the bengla naga. Dilshad and everyone else at the restaurant were amazing. Really great recommendation on the dishes too.

This was a family celebration. The food was excellent, beautifully cooked and presented and prepared quickly. Service was friendly and very efficient. Couldn't fault it at all. The English dish (cheese omelette) was substantial and excellent. We will be back

Went with my partner, mother-in-law (on her recommendation), and a friend. The service was lovely, very kind and attentive. The food was very tasty. For a main I had the Chicken Chettinad which I hadn't heard of and it was fab. Onion bhaji was great but the naan bread was incredible, like butter in the mouth. The ladies all had lamb and said it was perfectly cooked. Would 100% recommend.

Wow!!! Brecon tandoori is by far one of the best Indian foods I have ever tasted, I am really funny with my food being really spicy so I ordered a phal and asked for it as I wanted it and it came exactly how I wanted it, full marks to the chef, there food is 100% tasty aromatic spicy if wanted and the food was ready with in 30 minutes, a must try resturant . Thanks guys really enjoyed you're food .

After poppadum with nice mint sauce we ordered, as a starter, the Chef special. What a disappointment. Deep fried chicken nuggets, dry and tasteless. And than the waiter: it was our fault, we should have ordered something else. Are you kidding me??? That was for us the reason to leave this place. Unfriendly staff and a horrible Chef Special.

Excellent food with a vast number of choices. The portions are above average. Great value for money. Only criticism is they don’t serve coffee! Get a machine guys?

Holidaying in Sunnybank, Brecon, we ordered our food from the extensive menu. We had five different main dishes including Railway Station Beef Curry, Duck Tikka Masala, Murgi Rezalla, Chicken Moglai and Chicken Korma alongside rices, poppadom, dips, various sides and peshwari naan bread. We collected our food, although when we saw the beautiful restaurant, we wished we had booked a table. Beautifully prepared food, easily amongst the finest we have had. Highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you for the lovely friendly service.

Fantastic curry, the Naga Korai chicken was amazing. Lamb chop start spot on. Lovely staff as well. Definitely going back next time I’m in the area.

Pleasantly surprised, tasty food, good portions. We were lucky to go early evening, so lovely and quiet enjoying catch up with our Kiwi friends. So much to choose from, looking forward to our next visit. Too busy chatting and enjoying the meal to take photos.... next time...maybe

We love Indian food and have been to hundreds of restaurants all over the UK, but I would honestly say this is the best. This is our third visit and there has been no lessening of standards. It’s a good solid menu - we are pescatarian - so we can only comment on the seafood selection but it is always beautifully presented and tastes as good as it looks. Always freshly cooked, with good and friendly service. Highly commended. 5⭐️ without doubt.

Nicely decorated restaurant, smart and clean. Really good menu, the type where you have to narrow down your favourites. When the food arrived, it didn’t disappoint. Fresh fish perfectly seasoned and spiced accompaniments. Good atmosphere and friendly staff.

We ordered a takeaway meal from Brecon Tandoori and having eaten in many Tandoori restaurants across the UK, I can confidently say that this is one of the best restaurants I have come across. The food is beautifully prepared, well spiced and well presented. The attention to detail is superb and the quality of the food offering overall is excellent.
