I went to Buddha Buddha for a special evening meal with my parents on our first full day of our holiday in Tenby after we read some very positive online reviews and recommendations. We booked a week in advance before going on holiday. The staff were not very warm or welcoming and didn’t seem to happy and they were not very approachable. The design of the restaurant isn’t the best, so we ended up being seated at a table in a dark, out of the way corner of the restaurant. Also, the decor in the restaurant isn’t very imaginative. Mum and I shared a bottle of Prosecco, and I also had a can of soft drink with my meal. We ordered poppadoms and a chutney tray to start with, and naan bread to go with our curry. The food was very tasty, however. Mum and I ordered a chicken jalfrezi and it came nice and spicy, as we all love spicy food. I also ordered a portion of chips with my curry as I don’t eat much rice, and they were good too. My Dad also enjoyed his food. They provide peppermints after the meal which is refreshing. However, the thing that really bothered us was that whilst we were eating and chatting, the staff kept looking over at our table every two minutes, non-verbally indicating that we should hurry up, or asking us whether we had finished yet. They didn’t actually say anything at all rude, or ask us whether we had finished, but it was just the way they kept looking over at us and that way they were passively chivvying us along, almost as if they wanted us to go in there, eat up, and go ASAP. So they wanted to get us fed and watered and out the door, a bit like fast food. Ironically, I’m visually impaired, so I didn’t pick up on those signals from the staff until they were pointed out to me later. The other thing which was a bit annoying was that right at the end of our meal, when we were paying the bill, the waiter said to us quietly, but slightly abruptly, cash only, please. I feel that they should have told us this at the beginning, because we weren’t to know that they don’t take cards, as this was our very first time here. We were only at Buddha Buddha for an hour, before we felt like it was clearly time to go. Normally, when dining out at an Indian restaurant, we are able to take our time and spend at least two hours there. Top tip: Make sure that you always carry plenty of cash when visiting Buddha Buddha. Especially if you are having a few drinks as well. I would not recommend this place because the staff made us feel quite uneasy and rushed, and despite the fact that we were polite to them and smiled pleasantly at them, the same as we would everywhere else we go whenever we go out, they never cracked a smile our way and their faces were quite stern at all times.

I don't know about the food but we were 4 friends and we just had to feel our stomach a little bit so we asked the person who was handling the customer. We asked him with a smile gesture that we want to order one veg Manchurian and one paneer tikka. All of sudden he literally said i am not gonna take your order because you are 4 and order is just 2 dishes so you have to order it 4 with so called attitude. The genuine request to the owner or who ever the person is responsible for that either train your staff how to communicate with the customer or either if you have that kind of policy how you gonna convince your customer to order for 4 people and for the people who are gonna visit i have read many comments if you see that Bangladeshi guy at that place just leave it otherwise he will gonna ruin your rest of day. I have to write it because he said either you order 4 or leave the place what the .. Is this who he is to tell me how much quantity that we want to order? Conclusion : for the new indian community or asian people don't go there and for foreigners guys you might get a little bit of taste in food but you will not get that love and warming welcome by staff and according to (indian) not any other Bangladesh or pakistani country warm welcome and greeting is the crucial thing to make tasty food dishes

Ordered 2 chicken biryani it was spot the chicken. The chef came to our table out of the blue so I said there was not much chicken . He said it was in small pieces. Still couldn't find much. He sent up 5 chunks of chicken to our table which did not taste like our dish. This with 1 potion of onion bahji 2 poppadoms and chutney tray 2 and a half pints of beer cost £50 not worth it

Omg seriously we booked a table for 8pm for 10 people finally got served half hour later, food rocked up at nearly 10 pm after only 3 waiters rushing about like Manuel, shouting in the kitchen and was all coming out mish mash and in dribs and drabs 😬,worst food I've ever had after the wait left feeling hungry after a £400 bill 🙄won't be back next year for the Rally 👋

The food was delicious. The food was prepared and customized as per our request. It's a small place. Make sure you carry cash with you as the card is not accepted here. The naan was freshly prepared, we tried the Coriander chilli naan and the garlic chilli naan. The paneer tikka starter was delicious, and had a decent amount of pieces. The dishes are slightly over priced as it's a tourist spot. But definitely worth visiting. You could ask the staff to give the wifi password and use the internet. The toilet is neat and clean. Too many doors to enter though. They provide mint after the meal which is refreshing.

The food was good not huge portions but enough to fill you up, priced around £13 per main dish and £3.95 for chutney tray. however the atmosphere has a lot to desire and the older waiter wasn't the most approachable and happy and also kept trying to take items off our table when we had not yet finished. On arrival we were asked if we would like poppadoms we requested 2 but then we're brought 3 along with a chutney tray which was not requested but was added to our bill, which is fine but some people may not want this. The waitor then asked twice to take the chutney tray reaching over my mother's food while she was eating to take it, I had to tell him twice that we hadn't finished with it especially as we were paying for it. Also they made you feel uneasy by hovering looking to see if you had finished to take items off your table as if they were in a rush to get you done and out the door. Although the food was nice I wouldn't return due to customer service being poor.

Average tasting food. Service was appalling - the Indian/Bangladeshi member of staff who took my order suggested that I should order all my food in one go and he will not take any repeat order this was at 8:00 pm ( so the kitchen wasn’t closing), forgot half my order. Kept up his grumpy face and no smile service throughout the evening. I can’t believe how such people get these jobs in a customer facing industry. Cash only, probably don’t want to pay the actual VAT. Avoid at all costs, plenty of decent restaurants around.

I should have had the buttered chicken which my partner had. Although chicken dry, it was tasty. I chose the Green Thai chicken - chicken dry and the sauce was like water with no taste at all. Sambles and naan bread were tasty. We were a large table and were scuttled out for an even bigger crowd.. Cash only. Very loud - Won't be back. I went with my two girls and although the service was good the food was disappointing and very expensive compared to any Indian Restaurant I have been to before (and I have to confess it is my guilty pleasure!). A can of diet coke is £2.95 and overall our bill which consisted of: 3 Poppadoms and Chutney Tray, 1 Chicken Tikka Massala (kids shared), 1 Buddha Buddha Curry, 1 Boiled Rice, 1 Chips and 1 Naan and 3 cokes was £60. Arrived for our booking at 8.30pm was a little shocked at first as our table wasn’t even set up even though it was prebooked. Disgusted at how rude the staff was towards us. We put in a drinks order and shortly after the staff began to shout at each other over who was going to take our order right infront of us. Once we’d put in the order we given our starters and were left waiting for two hours for our plates to be cleared and our food to come to us. We asked for a jug of water but were told to use our glasses that were used for other drinks as they had no glasses even though it wasn’t that busy. During this time we had asked multiple time how long the wait was and was told “two minutes” or “five minutes” but was left waiting for another 20 minutes. We then tried to cancel the order and pay for what we’d eaten to go and he would not allow us to leave and began to put our plates on our tables for us. After being given some dirty plates it was wiped with a tea towel that he carried around the back of his neck and given back to us instead of being cleaned or changed to a clean plate. We got the rice first which then went cold as the curry didn’t arrive until 5 minutes later. We then had our food and had to listen to all the staff shouting and arguing with each other very loudly. Once we’d eaten and went to pay the bill he was shocked when asked for the change. Overall it was not worth going to and I felt very disappointed with our experience and how everything was handled and how awful the service was and how long we had to wait for everything, we did not manage to leave until 11.30pm despite being there at 8.30 for our booking.

Took over an hour for the food to arrive, which actually was quite nice but the overall service from the two male staff was dreadful. They were miserable and rude. The female staff was lovely, attentive and engaging but this wasn't enough to make up for the other two. 1/2 pint of squash for my kids was ridiculously expensive and overall the food was expensive for what it was. I was on vacation at Tenby when I happened to visit this place for dinner. We were a group of 8 people and we had the most shocking experience of our lives here when we ate the food. There was no taste in the foods we ate (we took chicken tikka, biryani, chicken jalfrezzi, peshwari naan, veg Madras, egg rice, chicken korma). The only taste was either the foods were sweet (which it's not supposed to be) along with lots of coconut or it had too much red chili with no other taste. We do not usually waste food, but i am sorry to say we had to waste considerable portion that day as it could not be taken more. The chicken tikka was raw with red color on it only. The taste of egg rice and biryani was same, only difference was biryani had boiled chicken pieces and egg rice had some fried scrambled eggs. The biryani had no biryani essence at all, it was a portion of colored boiled rice. The restaurant claims to be indian Thai, but the taste of foods were no where close to Indian/thai. We had a discussion with the cook later regarding the quality but to our surprise he did not even accept it other than just to say I will be better. We feel that our food cheque of 137 pounds was a waste.

The WORST Indian food I have had in my life. If you love Indian food, pls do go here to waste your money. This is a small place run in a basement. Initially there was a wait of 1 hr when we reached. Lookng at that we assumed the food must be pretty good. The glasses for water were not washed properly. They had lipstick stains from previous customers. Out of the 8 dishes we ordered, chicken jalfrezi and Veg korma madras didnt have salt in it. The taste of the rices in egg fried rice and chicken biriyani were same. The chicken tikka was under cooked. The Buddha Buddha special curry was tasteless. Chicken korma was overloaded with coconut. When we complained of this pathetic food to the chef (who was not an Indian chef but was a bangladeshi cook and looked like he was drunk), he didnt even bother to acknowledge. Pathetic experience!!!

Enjoyed a fantastic takeaway meal on our first night in Tenby, meals were excellent quality, well prepared and plentiful. Best takeaway we've had away from home.

Excellent food and service considering they were very busy . Look out for the small entrance , there are around 20 steps down into the restaurant., not a problem as people were bringing push chairs down.

We had 4 different curries from there last weekend and they were awful . Watery curry sauce, all tasted the same very bland ,the meat was tough and flavourless. Avoid this if your a curry lover.

Wandered in on a busy Sunday night with no reservation and thought we'd give it a try. Tried the balti dishes with rice and determined they were probably the best Indian dishes we've ever eaten anywhere. Menu is deep with a lot of options, and if you're even a little bit in the mood for Indian food you need to stop here.

We ordered a Chicken Tikka, a Lamb Rogan Josh, plus many sides. It was cooked to perfection! Absolutely stunning flavours and very prompt with the order time. Wiped the floor with every other Indian we had ever had.
