Taj Indian Grill in Carmarthenshire

ordered a mixed grill everything was over cooked and hard to bite through and very chewy,chicken was overcooked and burnt in parts,there was hardly any meat in the 3 keema nans and the chips were over cooked and partially burnt

Curry was very tasty, chips were a little cold but overall good service.

I ordered through just eat! The chicken was stringy and squishy as if it was raw! It smelled awful too! Just eat wouldn't refund me saying it was the style of the restaurant even though the pictures I sent them clearly show the stringy pink chicken!! Never using just eat or ordering from here again!

Has to be the worst takeaway I have ever had. The tikka balti was inedible, chicken tikka was a strange texture and sauce was so salty. Prawns in the prawn cocktail were like rubber went straight in the bin. Order arrived quickly (within 15-20 min) which is was a bit worrying really. Standards have definitely dropped! £40 order only ate the chips and naan bread.

Chicken tikka tandoori was awful. The whole dish has gone on the bin. It was squishy and had a jelly layer on it.

The food was nice but not worth the one hour wait considering the order was small. The naan bread was lovely though. Disappointing delivery time is a real let down though.

Absolutely awful customer service order was three hours late.Phoned on the first occasion when it was an hour late told they had no driver informed me that I would have a free item as an apology. My husband phoned an hour later after several attempts to phone them for an update they finally replied saying that their chef had let them down.The food arrived with no free item nearly three hours late safe to say I will not be ordering with them again after many years of being a customer.

Lovely food , the service from the two waitresses was great but the food was slow coming out of the kitchen considering we were the only ones in there at that point . The price was also very very good value

Lovely place to come for Sunday Buffet. The staff are super friendly and they can’t do enough to assist you. Myself and my family have visited on many occasions and enjoyed every time.

Food excellent. Some new staff trying hard to get things right. This would have been a five star review, but unfortunately, the toilets could do with an upgrade or a good clean and decorating. Just a suggestion. For people eating in, the menus should be different from the ones you use for takeaway.

Do not order on their app or website!! They do not exist any more and have taken our money with apparently no way of getting it back. Avoid!

Will never use this Indian again. Have used for a few years when family visited, but never again and contemplating reporting to Environmental Health. A video was taken by my son as he pulled out a long black hair from the naan bread of his kebab meal as he started his meal. A very, very expensive evening, as there were five of us, ruined.

Last time will order. Ordered quite a few times before, but order not correct. Ordered extra mint sauce but only got one. Supposed to have a mint sauce with onion bhaji. Ordered veg Korma got chicken. (Wife is vegetarian). Changed plain Nan to kemma, got plain. Had mix ups before, so won’t be ordering online again.

Chicken Dhar Dhar - no chicken, no green chilli. Only potatoes in bland lentil sauce. Saag Gobi - received Aloo Gobi instead.

Food was delicious, chicken was succulent and hot. Arrived almost 30 minutes earlier than the estimated delivery time. Thoroughly enjoyed and was surprised with some little extras. Very happy.

Ordered Chicken tikka in 2 dishes and food arrived as Beef in both

alot of fat on the lamb, wrong rice, ordered keema got mushroom. arrived late and while quite cold on arrival still tasty.

After waiting a hour 15min Food was so disappointing!! And considering it was 20 plus minutes late it was cold so probably sat there waiting to be delivered!! onion bhaji was either over cooked or put back in to cook also the first time having a garlic nan that tasted shop bought and was cold!! I’m sorry the only thing ok out of my order was the popadoms nothing worse than being starving looking forward to your food and being this disappointed!! In the food bin it went GUTTED!!

That was by far some of the best food I’ve ever eaten. It was all piping hot, the flavours threw you off the chair and the quality was second to none. This was the kind of meal you talk about with your family for weeks after and say “we HAVE to get that food again, it was amazing”. It really was absolutely incredible, certainly the best food in the whole area. Only concern was it took over an hour to be delivered but honestly, after getting the food and trying it, it made sense. It’s THAT good!!

Chicken Muli was completely inedible! Curry had a large layer of oil on the top of it and had absolutely no taste at all. The curry had to be completely binned as it could not be eaten

naan was cold. chicken was tough. lamb kebabs were cold and not enjoyable. delivery driver was unhelpful and moody when we pointed out we were missing items in our order. it took a while but finally got missing items, in store staff were helpful. will not be ordering again.

Taj is our usual go to Indian as they have never let us down. taste wise but last night after waiting 2 hours for delivery the food tasted watered down. disappointed to say the least.

Delivery was an hour and a half late. My meal was good but my partner’s meal was burned. It’s a shame as overall it could have been amazing.

Food late and cold :( Delivery person went to walk away before we could answer the door -it took less than a minute to answer. Not impressed at all sadly!

Meat Rice and veg sauce was amazing, only thing I was disappointed with was the 2 portion of grilled meat was way over cooked and burnt, definitely not as good as previous ones I have had from yourselves.

The Chips & bombay potatoes were absolutely freezing..! The chips were like rubber. I am really unhappy as the bambay potatoes are not cheap.. i think there nearly £5 each..?

I went here to sit down without a booking at around 6pm just for myself. I was totally accommodated in all respects. I felt it quite sad really that no other sit-down diners were coming in, because of the experience I had, although they were doing a busy trade in takeaway orders. I had chicken pakora to start which were 5 very generous and very flavoured coated goujouns, with a nice thick-ish mint sauce accompaniment. Very satisfying and tasty. For main I had the Salmon Balti, with a garlic naan. The Balti came in this lovely quirky miniature bucket. Never having had salmon in an Indian restaurant before, it was a revelation. Very succulent and blended so well with the onions peppers and spices. The staff were lovely and attentive throughout, very pleasant with genuine smiles. It was really lovely to hear them using Welsh phrases with one takeaway customer, and the length of chit-chat they engaged in and encouraged. My only niggles - and they are minor - are one that the soundtrack playing was a bit loud and repetitive, of course on a busy night you wouldn't notice. And I do hope they have busy nights because it has such a welcoming friendly vibe. Two where I sat, the seat backing was broken and was readily giving way into the takeaway waiting area. Not a problem for me as a solo diner, but a party of four would have one unlucky person having to be conscious of that for the duration of their meal. Easy fix though.

We tried something different this time, the Dhansak Chicken and the Chicken Makhani. Both were very nice especially with the lemon rice and always love a garlic nan bread.

*** If this review is helpful, give it a like! *** I just had a 10 out of 10 meal and felt compelled to leave a positive review; it was THAT good... 1) The quality of the food is a lot better than a couple of years ago. The Tikka Masala Sause is dark, and rich, and full of flavour, without being too sweet. It's in the Goldilocks Zone "it's just right". The chicken quality is better too. Marinated perfectly, falls apart in the mouth, and not "tough" to chew, it's just perfect. 2) The customer service is exceptional, the dude somehow manages to remember my preferences, even when I had forgotten to mention them myself! I like a lot of coriander, and I had forgotten to mention that when placing my order because it's been a while since I last had an Indian. So when delivering my food, he told me he'd remembered, and included a little pot of coriander for me, even though I'd forgotten to mention it! ...How do you remember all this, with hundreds of customers?? Amazing service! 3) There's one item which they don't official do any more, as it's off the menu for not being very popular, but I really miss it. Perfect customer service, he's kind enough to make them especially for me, because he knows how much I like them!! I won't say what it is, because I don't want to create extra work for them, by people seeing it mentioned here, and then asking for them. But needless to say amazing service for going the extra mile for me. Other take aways will just say no, which is why I will NEVER buy from the "Cubic" one, near Specsavers. They ignore notes/requests, and after spending literally £3,467 across 24 months there, they have zero customer loyalty. But Taj really make the effort to look after the customer. 4) The food is extreamly fresh. It's no secret that most places will prepare food ahead of time, and there may be a lot of preservatives in fast food places. I'm hypersensitive to things like that, and it's especially noticeable from the one indian that everyone says is the best, the one not too far from Home Bargains. But Taj, I didn't get that weird taste. So whatever they're doing, it's the right thing! 5) I'm not bloated! I usually feel really groggy and bloated after any take away, especially Indian food. But, I'm totally fine, some how? And I ate a load! But I feel great. I was expecting to feel high blood pressure, and possibly pass out to sleep... But nah, I'm great... I don't feel like him struggling to hold my food down, I feel properly satisfied! 6) I'm diabetic, type 2. And I monitor my sugar levels with a FreeStyle Libre 2. It shows more than just the number representing my blood sugar levels, as they are right now. They also show a graph, representing how quickly my sugar levels rise and fall. Usually high sugar/fat stuff like Indian, Chinese, and worst of all Dominos, causes my sugar levels to rise VERY quikly, and that looks like a steep line on the graph. However, while I've been typing this, I can see a fairly shallow increase, meaning that the ingredients they use, are better quality than other restaurants that I can compare with. The food contains less sugar than the average Indian restaurant/take away. 7) Extremely fast delivery, a d it was delivered by the same helpful guy who took my order, and remembered all my preferences, and went out of his way to help improve my experience. 8) Food was still VERY hot, despite me taking ages to get ready because I had something I needed to sort out before settling down for food, (10 to 15 mins). Which means the food was BOILING upon arrival. So yeah.... Really happy.... I hope the quality remains consistent, and my next order is just as amazing...!

Ordered food for delivery came missing main course took ages to send another . Today I went to collect they said they had checked the order got home and main curry missing took an hour to send replacement , rest of food was ruined from waiting . Won’t be using them again

Got part order wrong. A madras instead of a makhani? Way too hot!!! Not what I wanted at all. Had to share the other meal. We usually have great service from here. No idea why it was wrong tonight! But not a happy person here!

Food is fantastic never let down by service or how polite every member of staff are. Even asked if they could make just a dairy free Korma, and they did and its beautiful.
