Great food. All staff very helpful. Will definately go again We were there with the McMillan group from Porthcawl with Gwyneth Poacher There was a guest singer John Rees and the atmosphere was amazing...with a little dancing

Had a takeaway usually fine but tonight just awful one of the curry's 5 pieces of meat the other swimming in grease same as the starter will never use again disgusting. And the starters swimming in grease

Attended an event there last evening and the staff were brilliant and attentive. It was a set three course meal and they provided a great selection of food. Our entire table agreed that the curries were definitely worth coming back for...my favourites were the lamb bhuna and the aloo gobi. Thanks to the entertainers too Ken and John - lovely to hear Welsh voices. I hope you try this place, they do takeaways to surrounding towns.

This restaurant closed in late 2018 but has now become Shaddesh Diner. The staff and management are trying very hard - mostly successfully. We have eaten at Shaddesh a couple of times since they opened around Christmas 2018 and have had very nice meals. Last night (24th) we had another pleasant experience and will be going back more often in the future as they get more established in Kenfig Hill.

Great quick takeaway. Very tasty with some free beers to top it off 😀! Would highly recommend!!!!!!

They forgot the main tasty thing😩 mint sauce. didn’t want call back because it’s only mint sauce but hopefully they will give me a free one next time because I paid 50p for that.

Food 15 minutes late (given an hour already to deliver), and missing chips. Usually good food here but an off night tonight.

My fav, had lots of food from The Bengal Lounge and it has always been excellent, highly recomended.

I opted for a delivery tonight to save getting kids ready etc. Food was 20 mins late and stone cold. Would not recommend this to anyone and will never even contemplate ordering here again. Omelet it is and perhaps I should have saved my cash and done that in the first place.

This was our first time ordering from the Bengal Lounge and it may be our last: Our delivery arrived AN HOUR early which was far from ideal, and our food was only average. The Katchuri dansak was very very sweet and the paneer jalfrezi was lacking in sauce and had floppy peppers and big chunks of crunchy onion (it was also a strange bright red colour). This place has a really good range of vegetarian dishes, which is why we gave it a try, but we were left underwhelmed. Note: I have given a score of 3 for restaurant service as I have to score this to leave a review, but we didn't visit the restaurant as we had a delivery.

Terrible half of food was missing when informed takeaway they wanted me to buy another curry and pay ANOTHER DELIVERY FEE to give me my food which was missing do not order from here second issue with this restauarant

Forgot to deliver the chips again

Normally the nicest Indian in the area unfortunately the curry we had last night was very watery and the sauce was tasteless. such a shame 🙁

Well.....This has to be the VERY worst Indian meal EVER. The curry I order arrived looking like a swamp - green & extremely tasteless! Shortly after this meal I had to visit the loo in a hurry. Was a little unsure if we should go here, but we decided to give it a go - BIG MISTAKE. I cannot stress enough how awful the food was & we will NEVER be tempted there again. Don’t make our mistake - STAY AWAY!

missing one rice dish. waited for it to be redelivered but couldn’t wait any longer as food was getting cold. rang restaurant a second time only to have the phone put down on me. manager did ring back and apologise said he would refund rice.

Food arrived late which we didn't mind about. However the Food, the chicken was tough and dry in both dishes, poppadoms were soggy and had no crunch and the pakora were dry meat and soggy batter. Not very happy with the food, spoke to just eat who rang the restaurant on our behalf and they refused to help. We used to be loyal customer had one bad meal before but thought would give benefit of the doubt and order again but can say we will not be ordering from here again.

Ordered at 7.20pm told arriving at 8pm. Turned up at 9.10pm. Food was cold. Breads were soggy. I called restaurant twice and given numerous excuses. Really disappointed. Wont be ordering again.

An excellent restaurant. I have eaten in & had take away delivered food. Absolutely no drop in the quality & authentic cuisine. Thoroughly recommend service inside is great too 5*.

Food has been consistently good here, if you can overlook appalling and rude service from the staff. I should have learned my lesson by now having had several unpleasant experiences here. We ordered a takeaway from this place on Saturday at precisely 7.39pm. We were told it would take between 45 mins to an hour to deliver which was absolutely fine. An hour and 15 minutes later we phoned to ask where our food was and the manager said the girl delivery driver was very slow. It only takes 10 minutes by car from Kenfig Hill to Porthcawl so we asked whether our food had actually left. We were assured it was on its way. Another half hour later we called back and we’re told the exact same thing. Eventually when the driver arrived at 10pm We asked what time she left the restaurant and she said she was out delivering orders locally all evening and that she had only been handed our order 10 minutes ago. Her spineless employers even had the cheek to give her mobile phone number out to customers that were getting irate. Poor girl doubt she will put up with that for long! I can put up with delays, these things happen sometimes when restaurants are busy, but what I will not tolerate is being treated like a complete idiot and lied to! Needless to say we will never order from this place again.

Extra credit to the delivery driver who returned to drop off food he’d forgotten

We ordered a takeaway. It was delivered 20mins late. One of the main dishes was missing. In retrospect thank goodness as there was not one of the 5 dishes that we ordered that was edible. The naans were stale as was the oil they’d cooked them in. Wish we’d looked at trip advisor reviews before ordering.

Have just been to the Bengal Lounge for a special birthday and I won’t be going back. The food is not really any worse than other places, no better either, but my lemon rice had huge chunks of lemon in it which included the rind. Yuk. I kept having to spit it out. The biggest problem was the temperature of the restaurant. We complained more than once about how freezing it was and all they said was they would shut the door. My legs had gone numb with cold and two of our party put their coats on. It’s a large restaurant but only two other couples in there on a Friday night? One of those couples had a small heater!!

lovely food as always, freshly cooked as it was still boiling when arrived. 20 minutes early with a friendly face, couldn't ask for more.

The food was half an hour late, so cold it was inedible, did not want to warm it as it was chicken and unsure whether it had already been warm, the phone call to the restaurant just proved they didn't care.

3 of us walked in seeking a meal deal that was on the front of the building .. 4 courses for £10.99 5:30-10:30 tuesdays only.. we walked in at around 9:20 and asked for a table and if it was possible to have the meal deal offer advertised.. there was only a group seated on one table.. only to be told they were closed and the meal deal has stopped .. so didn’t get a chance to eat and there was no sit down restaurant nearby leaving 3 of us very disappointed.. why advertise something if your not willing to provide it.. Poor!

the food was superb but the service far less so. when I originally ordered it said it would be here at 6.30, then when it was confirmed it said 6.45. that was fine but when it wasn’t here by 6.55 I checked the app and it said it was delivered! by 7.05 I called the restaurant and was given a list of reasons “there was an accident”, “it’s chocka”, and was told it would be there “in the next few minutes.... 5-10 minutes” it eventually got here at 7.20.

Well, what an absolute shambles. Was looking forward to a spectacular meal, however I am completely dissatisfied. Order was missing my onion bhajis, one of the rice orders was also wrong. I phoned the restaurant, they said they'd send them straight out, waited, and....nothing! Phoned again, and apparently they are "on their way". Guess time will only tell, right?

Did not trrn up at all. What a waste of time. Accept my order and then send me an email at half 11 at night saying it can and will not be furfilled. Utterly useless

Rang up about 8pm on Friday to ask for a table and lucky for us there was one. Exceptional service. Always down to the smallest detail. Makes us feel special.The meal was delicious as always. So much to chose from. Highly recommended. I have never had a bad meal here.

Plenty of food but chips and pompdons pre cooked a little stale salad well lettuce and a few strands of peppers no cuc or toms really not happy wont have food there again

had quite a few takeaways from here now with mixed quality. can be very good at times but mostly very poor. recent takeaway was dreadful, very bland and dry. It does seem that the more orders you place the worse the quality gets, almost like they take your custom for granted. so wont be ordering from here again. Warning I have been repeatedly overcharged so always double check how much they are charging you. will not be ordering from her again

Service and delivery were fine but probably one of the most tasteless, slap-dash meals I've had.

Disappointed, always order from here, absolutely love the fresh cooked food. Tonight the korma was watery and tasted unusual, onion bhaji were overcooked, and stuffed parathas were split open, so everything fell out. Such a shame, as the food is usually lovely.

Took an hour and a half to arrive and was cold when arrived. Also looked as if the main had spilled and only half sauce was left.

Working in Porthcawl and since there was nothing available closer I had to venture to the Bengal Lounge. Quite a small meal was ordered, samosas and paneer shashlik with a naan.The restaurant is very welcoming with a free car park. Samosas quite nice. Nothing special but nice all the same. Came with a nice yoghurt dip as well as what seemed like pickled onions. Shashlik was very nice. Had a great Tandoori flavour. Although the accompanying naan was on the small side it was still quite nice.All in all a nice meal.

The delivery arrived on time however the driver was a bit rude. The food was cold and the curry really "dry"...all meat and veg not much sauce. This said, it tasted really fresh and meat was tender.
