Ray’S Indian Kitchen in Bridgend

The venue is in effect a takeaway with a restaurant as its secondary business. Lots of deleiveries and people milling around whilst you try and eat peacefully . The food was the worst I’ve ever tasted .The meat was so tough and chewy . The dishes with the popadoms were basically sauces from a bottle and I would avoid them at all costs . I would not recommend eating there . The staff were lovely . The place was clean . The food was dreadful sorry but true .

It wasn't good at all I ordered a hot curry and a mild curry, they were both the same mild tasteless curry sauce in both. No heating on, on one of the coldest nights this year. Such a shame, I had a cracking meal there a few months back.

Had 4 different curries which were all beautiful and generous. Minor quibble about too much oil on two but it was easily drained off. Currently the best curry in Maesteg 👍

the best ever I was here last night had the chicken tikka missala with boiled white rice popadoms the chutney tray and a pashwari nan bread. amazing food the staff were superb in helping with anything i wanted as i asked for my curry to be made very sweet creamy and thick sauce and it was without a doubt the best indian meal ive had in ages what i also liked was not only the mint sauce and mango chutney dips on the chutney tray but another 1 which was like sweet chilli with a bit of a kick to it but not over spiced enjoyed that one cant wait to return thx guys for a fab night.

Lovely place with Stunning food and lovely staff, we couldn't fault it, we have tried a few indian restaurants but this one is the best. We will definitely go back again soon.

When evdine in food and service excellent, however their takeaways are very different,they take an hour and it arrived cold,the driver must have been driving around different addresses, I phoned the restaurant as there was missing items no point in delivering the forgotten items as the rest of the delivery was cold ,won't give this restaurant any more of my money in the future .

Absolutely outstanding. Havent had an indian like that for a long time. Only 1 down side. No alcohol to be served but you can take your own.

Absolutely Great food . Fantastic service very friendly staff . Lovely and clean restaurant . Would definitely recommend . Only one complaint and that it wasn't warm in there even the waitress had her coat on not good when your sitting down eating , we did complain heating went on for about 15 mins then went back off again.

Usually have takeaway and never had problem. Went to restaurant for sit down meal. Clean, air conditioned and staff were superb, couldn't do enough for you. But the best thing was the food. Absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend rays.

Very enjoyable meal again, attentive and polite service. A napkin instead of a horrid paper serviette - wonderful. Will we visit again? Of course.

Love this resturant and take away especially ray and chef Ali but what is going on..... keep ordering mushroom bhaji only to get garlic mushroom and last twice the madras is milder than a korma really sad cause always was the best flavour around and a really great meal.

Ordered a Chicken Madras and it was a pathetic attempt, I like a Madras and can just about handle a standard vindaloo but I swear there was no heat in this at all. I’m not one who likes to sweat eating a curry but I like a little bit of spice this had nothing, it was on par with a Korma. Never tasted something so pointless in my life. Gutted this place used to be decent I’ll never go there again….

Dined here lotts of times, to be fair every time the food was good, staff polite, resterant nice and clean, prices for food and drink good, toilets clean. Would I go back 🤔 definitely yes

Butter chicken sauce was tastless and the chicken was a little dry so that was disappointing. Best part of the meal were the onion bhajis. They were top notch.

We ordered a take away costing £46 …. Came and the food was almost cold , the carrier bag was swimming in yellow oil , it stained everything so we had to heat up the food in the microwave … then we realised items were missing, we immediately called and was told by a uncaring woman that they were too busy to deliver the missing items …. We paid for these and we paid for delivery!!!! WHATS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!!!! No apology no refund , dreadful service and non existent customer service ….. NEVER AGAIN WILL THEY GET OUR CUSTOM …. Don’t loose money on cold food , and missing items

Very smart modern restaurant, spotlessly clean. All staff very attentive and extremely polite. Food was unbelievably stunning! 10/10 would highly recommend visiting!! Overall a fantastic indian cuisine experience 👏👏👏

Ordering online was easy, delivery fast within 30 mins, all good up until the food. Food was cold, sheek keebab was was disgusting, curry full of oil, chips cold and hard, rice no taste and delivery driver didn't even shut gate, dogs nearly escaped. Will never order from here again. Yuk a fi

I have ordered on numerous occasions and always been happy and enjoyed my meal. They will also change things on request and add ingredients. Nothing is any trouble at all

Ordered a takeaway online. Was not ready at specified time and was told it would be 5 minutes, despite not asking our name! Of the 3 staff inside, one wore a mask, the other had one under their chin and the 3rd did not have one at all. When the food arrived, we challenged the staff who were not wearing masks to be met with some really lame excuses, such as I was more than 6 feet away from you. On arrival home, the food was luke warm at best, despite being less than a 5 minute drive. Very poor all round

Ordered food for 7pm, food still hadn't arrived by 10pm... Nobody answers phone to chase up delivery. Absolutely awful

A lovely sit down meal again last night, would definitely recommend the bengal chicken. Will certainly return for another.

After a tough day in work we decided to try Rays take away service after a few months away. Always found sit down top notch but takeaway rather small portions. Tonight's was fab!! Good size portions and top quality meals. If this is a consistent standard we will be regulars 👍 Alan & Max, Neath Road

We went looking for the Momtaj which is no longer trading. It’s now Ray’s Indian Kitchen. We had a decent meal. Apart from their use of cheddar cheese rather than authentic Indian cheese as you expect. Otherwise food was tasty although nothing special. But we went during Covid.

Im Rating this place 2 stars, as the whole meal felt a bit rushed! It felt like they wanted you in & back out as soon as possible Although it wasn't exactly busy in there. One guy from the kitched started clearing plates from our table even though some of us hadn't finished eating! Being a vegetarian, I wasn't expecting a massive choice from the menu but thought there might be a bit more than one dish, a VEGETABLE BIRYANI that tasted quite bland. In the current situation concerning covid-19, we were shown to our table by a person not wearing a mask or visor. Didnt see any hand sanitizer for guests to use. The guy from the kitchen started of wearing a visor for serving our starters but slowly relaxed to not wearing it as the evening went on. When it came to payment, the 2 meter rule obviously didn't apply & again no mask. Damn shame as I was looking forward to eating here but can safely say I won't be back.

Went with friends ,table for six, sadly no beer on pump but Cobra Bottles great,cans of strongbow etc but not the same as on Tap. Anyway ordered starters after chutney tray which was great,then had main meals which we all enjoyed. Only trouble we could...

food never arrived after calling nearly 3 hours ago and didnt even give us a warning of it not turning up.

Just had my meal delivered it was hot on time and absolutely amazing. Very very tasty plenty of it ( have some left for lunch tomorrow) and excellent quality . Will be ordering again soon, about time we had a great Indian restaurant/ take away in the valley. Well done x

My wife and I had a great dining experience yesterday at Rays Sunday buffet. The food was great the Lamb curry was fantastic. Will definitely be back soon.

Poor, used to be great but since takeover, food took an hour and a half to deliver and food arrived cold. Food tasted awful. Shame as it used to be the only Indian restaurant I would order from.

Very poor showing. Ordered for delivery on a Saturday night which of course I understand is a busy one. Was told 1hr 15 mins, fair enough. 1hr 20 mins I phone in, they say the food is ready just waiting for a driver. 1hr 50, I phone asking if the food has been sitting there under a heat lamp for half hour, she said it wouldn't have been... so I said "it's cold then?" Lady on the phone said that "I'll see". The food came after two hours and although the sauces and sides were nice, the meat tasted poor and the chips were soggy. Decent portion sizes but the food was also barely even warm. Will not be coming back.

The service was very good from the time you stepped in the front door the starters was lovely and the main meal was excellent and the waiter keep us going with drinks what a lovely night will go again

Placed an order to be delivered thinking it was still maesteg tandoori ordered everything came within the 1 hr slot. One of the nan breads were slightly soggy. Was lovely thourely enjoyed it. Would recommend x

Restaurant: Lovely food. Friendly staff. Nice deco. Been here a few times, really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Takeaway: Just had a take away from Rays, it was lovely! Great price. I Had the Bengal chicken it was really nice lots of flavour. Highly recommend.

shared the first opening of the new Indian with Ray's new restaurant, and l have to say that it is one of the best meals we have ever had. that includes the Grand Sultan and the Cinnamon Kitchen, were we dine often, so now we have a top indian restaurant in Maesteg. Well done 👍

I have to say this is by far the best Indian takeaway and restaurant for miles. My partner and I are regulars, we have never had a bad meal or a complaint. The service is outstanding and the food is exceptional. We love it.

Me and the wife came here for a date. I don't think we talked at all once the food came. It was soooo good! I was absolutely full by the end, but it was so delicious I wanted more! Highly recommend!

Giving 2 just!! * we had 3 main meals with starters and sides. The Byriani was enjoyable with the chicken ACHARI an absolute pile of YUK. (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED IT STATES ON THE MENU). Leave well alone.

My absolute favourite place to eat in Maesteg. Staff and management always welcoming and are ready to assist if need be. Food is always to a great quality expectation. Very nicely decorated. Visited very recently and loved it and just booked in for next visit. Can't wait.

Looking forward to food heard good things about the place not impressed with the service waiting over 2 hours for a delivery off 2 meals don't know how the general man who is delivering them meal cus not asked for post code fed up with the wait phoned the indan lounge to speak with the manager but was not available to speak think that is bad news was told the meal was in transit by a woman who picked up the phone 20 minutes ago still no sign of the meal wouldn't recommend this restaurant to any off my friend's then a phone call off the delivery driver for post code do think we should get some form of a apologies from the management don't think we will use this place in the future let's see what the food is like???????

Nice food, decent prices, even with delivery

The food here is very good and delivery was quick. They also have a downloadable menu which is better for the environment. The menu is very varied and even managed to cater for my vegan fancies. If I had to criticise I would say that the mushroom bhaji was too spicy for me.

Amazing food and customer service

I found the food to be very greasy and it wasn't long until my partner and I were put off and had to leave it. A real shame as I really like indian food. Restaurant has not long opened so maybe it will improve over time. Will try again in a few months.

We had my wife's 50 th birthday at this resturant there was 16 of us.all the food came on time all together and the same with main course. The food was excellent the spices use were very good, all the food was fresh and hot (heat). I would recommend this indian restaurant to anyone. We will return due to the friendly staff who looked after our every need. ❤️❤️❤️👍👍

We didn't book a table and there was 7 of us. They accommodated us wonderfully. The service and food was fantastic. Staff were friendly nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Had a takeaway and the sauce was so runny there was a pool of water on my plate very of putting but meat was tasty
