The best restaurants serving Indian food in Wales

The curry’s wasn’t to are taste .we couldn’t eat it had herb leaves in it .and that was all you could taste .everyone is different

Visité dos veces este mes con mi familia después de años de comer aquí antes de tener hijos. Qué soplo de aire fresco es la Puerta de la India. Antigua escuela, ambiente relajado, comida de excelente calidad y fantástica relación calidad-precio. En mi opinión, la comida es poco cara en comparación con los altos precios que otros restaurantes cobran por comida de peor calidad. El personal ha sido encantador con mis hijos las dos veces que hemos visitado - gracias por hacer su primera experiencia de cocina india agradable. No estoy impresionado fácilmente y he comido en la mayoría de los restaurantes indios en Cardiff y puedo decir honestamente, no se puede vencer a India Gate con respecto a la calidad, el servicio y el valor. Siempre una comida sólida en la Puerta de la India. Muy recomendable.

So we placed an order on Deliveroo but when it came, there were a couple of faulty items. The kebab was a medium and was meant to be a large and there were 4 chicken nuggets instead of 6. The owner/chef who I spoke too was genuinely upset and baffled as to how there were only 4 and I fully believe that they’ve been lost in process which isn’t a problem of the stores really. After the phone call, they sent the whole meal again correct. This meant a lot and you wouldn’t find another place in Cardiff that would do that. Being honest my partner regrets calling up to mention anything because the shop was so nice and the staff were absolutely lovely. The food came piping hot and tasted fantastic both times. We will be ordering again and I’ll be sure to tip extra for the way you were today. A fantastic grill that genuinely cares about their customers opinions. Couldn’t recommend enough!

It was a very quiet night in there for saying it was Saturday evening, only us and 1 other table with guests on it, plus the staffs kids were in there trying to gain attention from our table. Killing the mood of our night sightly. The food was very nice however, May be better to be used as a takeaway.

We are spoilt for choice for Indian takeaways in Port Talbot, however we always travel to Zafran Express. It really is the best Indian around. The food is always so tasty and the staff are lovely. A special mention has to go to the paneer dishes - absolutely delicious!

A great place to the finest Indian cuisine.

If there was a 0* rating, this place would have got it. Ordered food at 6.05p.m and was told 45m for delivery, food finally arrived at 8.25p.m. Food was stone cold and disgusting. The chicken in the Kurma was dry and tough. The lamb in the Kashmir was ok but there were only 3 small pieces in the whole dish. The rices were dry. Chips were like rubber, you could have soled your shoes with them. Keema naan was all burnt with very little filling. The food was so bad that a lot went in the bin.

We've gotten takeaway from here a few times now and have always enjoyed it. Food is always tasty and good portions for a reasonable price. The lady behind the counter is always very friendly and welcoming. We will continue to order from Cymru Balti in the future!

Went to the haven last night avnt been there for a long time a new owner is taking over in the next 2 weeks and what a lovely person she is wish them all the very best and really hope she gets rid of the dead wood and brings her own team in.

We love this place, food is always hot and fresh. Definitely recommend and we will be back.

Qué palabrería pedí una comida para llevar, ya que no estoy bien de la gripe. No podría haber dado al repartidor físicamente muchas mejores instrucciones de dónde me alojo, pero no pudo encontrarme. No me divertí ya que tuve que esperar bajo el frío y la lluvia buscándolo. Cuando recibí mi pedido la coca faltaba pero volvieron para traerme una. La comida era asquerosa fría, grasienta y absolutamente insípida Creo que esto es físicamente la peor comida para llevar que he comido y no era barato. Terminó en la papelera, que era el mejor lugar para esta mierda de mal gusto 💩

Great food. Always boiling hot great options and friendly service. Always pre order and collect which works great. Highly recommend.

We are a group of 20 mountain bikers visiting South Wales and after seeing reviews decided to book a group meal at the Taj Restaurant on the Saturday night some weeks before our visit.. Well what can I say . The booking was easy with a confirmation a week before. When we arrived we were shown to our tables by friendly staff. All 20 of us had 2 courses & sundries. All arrived after not too long of a wait. All the food was hot and very tasty. The staff were really helpful and made our night special. I would certainly recommend this restaurant for anyone who is a curry lover who likes an attentive friendly service..

Ordered food here tonight 16/8/24 after taking time deciding which take away to use. Food didn’t turn up and when I rang several times it was clear that no one was going to answer as it’s close to closing. Many thanks for ruining our Friday night and congrats on losing a local customer.

Visited today for a meal. Ordered pilau rice, Madras and 2 poppadoms.. Charged me £18. And the meal was nothing special.
