Amantola in Flintshire

We came for a family evening, the buffet was chosen by us all and couldn't believe what a selection of different dishes was available. The staff were very attentive and looked after us very well. We had a great evening and will definitely return, thank you

Visited this restaurant on Saturday night with family . Have visited a number of times and it never fails to dissapoint . Always made to feel so welcome , the waiters and waitresses are all so very friendly . We didn't have to wait very long for drinks and they were very quickly replenished. We had a selection of food between the 4 of us and we all agreed that the volume we had would have fed 8 people . We gave compliments to the chef , the food was excellent , served hot and very tasty . Especially the omelette. Enjoyed it that much will be visiting again next weekend . Thank you to all involved . A very enjoyable evening had by all .

Lovely food and the meal for 2 was great value! We can pack food away and even we had a large portion leftover for tomorrow! Would order again.

Ordered at 7pm, food arrived at 8.50pm. Wed night. Cold and rock hard chips. Sooooo not worth the money. Chicken in curry hard and sauce just about warm enough. Acid reflux now as ate so late, 50 mins late. No acceptable for £30 spent. Never order from here

We were greeted by a waiter and shown to the table. The restaurant was absolutely freezing, there was a tiny blow heater about four metres away, it didn't help. Drinks were ordered, we waited over 30 minutes before we went to find a member of staff. Red wine was delivered around 10 minutes later and it was so cold we thought it was refrigeratorated. The food order was taken, by which time we had been in the freezing restaurant for 40 minutes. There were two feral children running around screaming, which was very annoying. The food arrived 35 minutes later, and they delivered a veggie curry with my tandoori, which I asked to be substituted for saag bhaji, they bought both! Food was not great, there was only one waiter, who also tended the bar, reception and sorted out the delivery drivers. There was a 'waitress' who was in training, so didn't actually do anything. We will never return and will never recommend. A waste of £50.

We placed an order on uber eats waited for an hour. We rang the shop to ask to make it extra spicy. The guy asked about the address and said will ring when hes at the address, said to keep the phone close to me. After an hour When we rang asking about food they said it got delivered to different place. They started blaming not getting the food from that address. If I am ready to go out and get the food why am placing order on online. How can driver just deliver food in random hospital reception. Is there is contact number and ask for right direction. We haven’t tried the food. We were excited having them. All we got was total disappointment.

Great food, arrives nice and hot. We recommend Butter Chicken. Amazing

I have been ordering food from here for 20 years today was the first time I was not happy with the food. Curry and rice ok however starter was overcooked and chapatis were not fresh and not to the usual standard I really hope this was a one off

food was cold yet again, had to warm it up in the microwave. maybe invest in heat bags so the food arrives hot.

Placed the order at 17:00, didn’t get any updates regarding delivery. Until 20:17 which was the driver calling me saying he has my food outside. We assumed they were closed as no answer on the phone so we had already eaten and gone to bed. Shame rea*

Would avoid. Food choice and quality was awful. Several dishes were watered down with sauces that looked like dish water. The restaurant is run down and in a poor state. Will not be returning.

Four Meals for one. Everything was quality and plentiful... Can definitely recommend the Spiced meat starter and Chilli garlic chicken... No negatives only empty plates and plenty for dinner tomorrow... Definitely order again...

Every time I go here the food is excellent friendly staff great atmosphere I personally just love the place doesn't matter what you order or the buffet menu is perfection 2 really nice brothers run the Amantola,so what ever you having to eat you will always get the perfect meal,weather that be vegetarian or something little hotter, 😋 plenty of parking available, which is a bonus,value for money,

Average food delivered an hour late! They claim the restaurant was busier than they expected. Don’t quote delivery times you cannot meet

Nice food with a good but not overwhelming amount of options. Good drink service with the all inclusive drinks buffet option as the male member of staff was bringing them over before we’d even asked. Fair pricing. Decor old but somewhat nostalgic. It was clean.

Went to the amantola with my partner, daughter and baby for the buffet, such a warm welcome and great value for Money, the man who greeted us was very welcoming

I DO NOT recommend this takeaway, they accepted my order on 17th November then cancelled it 40 minutes after the time it was supposed to be delivered. Too late to get an order quickly elsewhere. Shocking!!

Collection order was very disappointing from here.tikka masala sauce very watery and chicken tasted funny, onion bhajis cold and balti didn't taste like a balti ended up chucking most of it in the bin

Over 2 hrs from order to delivery,most of the food was lukewarm and other items were cold,the food itself after re heating was tasty

Went for the sunday buffet, cheap and not very chearful. Lot of the food was grim and watery, hardly any meat in it. Rather they improved the quality and paid a bit more. Shame as used to be very good years ago. Staff are very friendly, surroundings are nice. Needs a reboot, better quality food, rather than the slop thats on offer now.

Updating my review to be more accurate. Original review at the bottom. I really do love it here but no matter how in advance I order to collect an order, it is never ready on time and there's never an apology or even an acknowledgement. It's incredibly frustrating. So I would suggest putting the time as 15 / 30 minutes before you actually want to collect - We have had takeaway from here but eating in person was so much nicer. Lovely atmosphere and theming of the restaurant. All the staff we interacted with were lovely. We got the banquet for one and it was a bargain. The food was so good and came out in good time. The beer on draft was one I hadn't heard of but it was really good and paired excellently with the curry. We ordered extra sides but didn't need them as the portions are so generous. Will definitely be back soon

Really loved the food here it was amazing, also the service was lovely, would definitely come here again had the jalfrezi and bhajis with egg fried rice

Food was brilliant, so much to chose from the menu, drinks were also spot on…… the restaurant is also very clean / presented well . Me and my family dined-in and the service was excellent and Maroof and his team looked after us massively . Would highly recommend this place to anyone!!

Order was due 7:30 and it arrived 8:25. I was told because it was late we would have a free item from the menu because they didn’t want to give any money back! Nothing was received, the food was cold and not enjoyable at all. Very disappointed for the money we have spent.

Fantastic from start to finish….. very warm and friendly welcome, superb selection of Indian,Chinese and English food. All piping hot, extremely tasty. Very good value for money Will definitely be back very soon.

We have been eating at The Amantola for many, many years, both as a couple, then as a family, and for over a decade with our grandchildren too. The food has always been of a high standard as regards presentation, taste, variety and value, particularly the buffet. As you may have guessed, we have always enjoyed going to The Amontola on a regular basis. There is always a very friendly welcome and farewell and we look forward to our next visit very soon (Chris Evans 😁)

The curry dishes were very watery . There's not much to choose from ,very slow on topping up the buffet . Shame really as I had been before, and it was ok. the last few times have not been great.

Our first time hear and we where very impressed. Had all inclusive buffet it was so nice. meat in the curries was cooked to perfection good choice of food. Always topped up and fresh dishes. We had amazing service from the waiter. Didn't have to wait for a drink brought a bottle of wine so didn't have to keep ordering and waiting and kept my partner toped up with his beer over all amazing service and amazing food would definitely recommend

First time going here tonight and definitely won't be the last, place is absolutely beautiful, staff and owner so friendly and welcoming and the food was lovely, definitely be recommending this place to people aswell

As ever a really great night there is so much choice from the all you can eat buffet the food is excellent the staff are super friendly the atmosphere is relaxed would definitely recommend if you are ordering from the menu the Indian summer is amazing.

We booked a table for 5 to celebrate 2 wedding Anniversarys and my sons Birthday it was my first visit and I must say the staff were very friendly and attentive we had the buffet and the selection was really good lots of dishes and all labelled and replenished when running low.i definitely would recommend and will be returning soon.Thanks to the staff as they do a great job

Painfully disappointed... after driving past the pink elephants for years, we finally went to eat there this evening... staff were lovely but the food ! Erm cold, tasteless, very poor choices, no desert ( a buffet with no desert) sadly will not be back. Did have a live singer, so I guess that half a star...

The buffet is great value, enough choice for my liking, all hot and tasty. Good quality meats in the dishes, staff are polite. We have visited twice recently & will be returning again soon!

Took granddaughters for a treat and it was fantastic. Food was amazing, hot and very tasty . Servings were huge could have ordered half and it would have been plenty. Definitely worth a visit can’t fault anything about it .

Had a delivery from amantola to where I was camping. The complete experience was a rating.delivery time and communication was excellent. Food was still piping hot,the quality and quantity was best I've had.the price was very good. I will definitely use you again when in the area,thank you very much.

One of the best Indians I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating. The food was so nice I ate 6 plates and all for the astounding price of £13. Staff are great too and always on hand. Will definitely be visiting again soon.

Terrible, waited over two hours for delivery. Called the restaurant and there was a rude guy on the phone blamed just eat asked for money back and phone was put down on me. Real shame as ive used this resturant for over 8 years. Will not use again

Tikka Masala very watery not thick like it normally is from here and just didn't taste nice, food was mainly cold, shame because in 20 yrs this is the first bad experience I've had from the Amantola

Lovely, hot food. Not too sure why I was given a code to give to the driver though as I was never asked for it.

We chose the Pan Asian buffet. Limited choice, not very hot and poor quality. For a Saturday night, there were barely any customers. Choice of drinks were very limited, and there was no zero beers at all. No vegetarian options available.

Mixed starter was great! Unfortunately, the jalfrezi curries were anything but and therefore not edible. A jalfrezi has peppers, onions, tomatoes and chillies in it. These curries just had onion and were coconut based. No heat, extremely bland and anything but a jalfrezi. Used to get an awesome jalfrezi curry from here - no idea what's gone wrong today but I will not be risking ordering again after paying £30 on an order.

Having tried fine curries all over including Manchesters great curry mile, I was unsure due to some reviews about this Restaurant, I'm very glad to say, great service, nice staff and food delish, will be visiting many times in the future, thanks guys

We ordered a banquet for 5 of us from here a month or so ago, went to collect and ready in 20 minutes, very friendly and gave us some free drinks too. Food was delicious could have easily fed 10! Will definitely be visiting again :)
