Amantola in Flintshire

Collection order was very disappointing from here.tikka masala sauce very watery and chicken tasted funny, onion bhajis cold and balti didn't taste like a balti ended up chucking most of it in the bin

It would get full 5 stars but not been back their since they put the price up on the buffet

Went for the sunday buffet, cheap and not very chearful. Lot of the food was grim and watery, hardly any meat in it. Rather they improved the quality and paid a bit more. Shame as used to be very good years ago. Staff are very friendly, surroundings are nice. Needs a reboot, better quality food, rather than the slop thats on offer now.

LOVE this place food is so nice the onion bhajis are fantastic 👌 the food is spot on lots of choice 2nd time back and I'll keep going back .

Updating my review to be more accurate. Original review at the bottom. I really do love it here but no matter how in advance I order to collect an order, it is never ready on time and there's never an apology or even an acknowledgement. It's incredibly frustrating. So I would suggest putting the time as 15 / 30 minutes before you actually want to collect - We have had takeaway from here but eating in person was so much nicer. Lovely atmosphere and theming of the restaurant. All the staff we interacted with were lovely. We got the banquet for one and it was a bargain. The food was so good and came out in good time. The beer on draft was one I hadn't heard of but it was really good and paired excellently with the curry. We ordered extra sides but didn't need them as the portions are so generous. Will definitely be back soon

Food was brilliant, so much to chose from the menu, drinks were also spot on…… the restaurant is also very clean / presented well . Me and my family dined-in and the service was excellent and Maroof and his team looked after us massively . Would highly recommend this place to anyone!!

Food is delicious, well worth a try

We have been eating at The Amantola for many, many years, both as a couple, then as a family, and for over a decade with our grandchildren too. The food has always been of a high standard as regards presentation, taste, variety and value, particularly the buffet. As you may have guessed, we have always enjoyed going to The Amontola on a regular basis. There is always a very friendly welcome and farewell and we look forward to our next visit very soon (Chris Evans 😁)

Very good service, drinks were quick, food was fresh for a buffet. Very friendly staff too - they even gave us free food from the buffet to take home.

The curry dishes were very watery . There's not much to choose from ,very slow on topping up the buffet . Shame really as I had been before, and it was ok. the last few times have not been great.

Our first time hear and we where very impressed. Had all inclusive buffet it was so nice. meat in the curries was cooked to perfection good choice of food. Always topped up and fresh dishes. We had amazing service from the waiter. Didn't have to wait for a drink brought a bottle of wine so didn't have to keep ordering and waiting and kept my partner toped up with his beer over all amazing service and amazing food would definitely recommend

We booked a table for 5 to celebrate 2 wedding Anniversarys and my sons Birthday it was my first visit and I must say the staff were very friendly and attentive we had the buffet and the selection was really good lots of dishes and all labelled and replenished when running low.i definitely would recommend and will be returning soon.Thanks to the staff as they do a great job

As ever a really great night there is so much choice from the all you can eat buffet the food is excellent the staff are super friendly the atmosphere is relaxed would definitely recommend if you are ordering from the menu the Indian summer is amazing.

Painfully disappointed... after driving past the pink elephants for years, we finally went to eat there this evening... staff were lovely but the food ! Erm cold, tasteless, very poor choices, no desert ( a buffet with no desert) sadly will not be back. Did have a live singer, so I guess that half a star...

Never received my order. Tried ringing restaurant repeatedly and no answer.

Food was okay, but the order arrived and hour after it said it would and half an hour after it said it had been delivered. Tried to call the restaurant 8 times but had no answer. I understand that on a Friday it gets busy but still very disappointing

On the app said it was delivered so tried to get in contact with restaurant to see if my order was still going to arrive. Could get through. Order arrived an hour after it was expected to be delivered. Arrived cold

The buffet is great value, enough choice for my liking, all hot and tasty. Good quality meats in the dishes, staff are polite. We have visited twice recently & will be returning again soon!

Took granddaughters for a treat and it was fantastic. Food was amazing, hot and very tasty . Servings were huge could have ordered half and it would have been plenty. Definitely worth a visit can’t fault anything about it .

Had a delivery from amantola to where I was camping. The complete experience was a rating.delivery time and communication was excellent. Food was still piping hot,the quality and quantity was best I've had.the price was very good. I will definitely use you again when in the area,thank you very much.

One of the best Indians I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating. The food was so nice I ate 6 plates and all for the astounding price of £13. Staff are great too and always on hand. Will definitely be visiting again soon.

Terrible, waited over two hours for delivery. Called the restaurant and there was a rude guy on the phone blamed just eat asked for money back and phone was put down on me. Real shame as ive used this resturant for over 8 years. Will not use again

Took my mum here for her birthday, she'd not eaten here for many years. I ate all mine, really tasty, mum ate half and can't wait to finish it off tomorrow. Really lovely and friendly 🙂

Tikka Masala very watery not thick like it normally is from here and just didn't taste nice, food was mainly cold, shame because in 20 yrs this is the first bad experience I've had from the Amantola

We chose the Pan Asian buffet. Limited choice, not very hot and poor quality. For a Saturday night, there were barely any customers. Choice of drinks were very limited, and there was no zero beers at all. No vegetarian options available.

Mixed starter was great! Unfortunately, the jalfrezi curries were anything but and therefore not edible. A jalfrezi has peppers, onions, tomatoes and chillies in it. These curries just had onion and were coconut based. No heat, extremely bland and anything but a jalfrezi. Used to get an awesome jalfrezi curry from here - no idea what's gone wrong today but I will not be risking ordering again after paying £30 on an order.

Lovely, hot food. Not too sure why I was given a code to give to the driver though as I was never asked for it.

Having tried fine curries all over including Manchesters great curry mile, I was unsure due to some reviews about this Restaurant, I'm very glad to say, great service, nice staff and food delish, will be visiting many times in the future, thanks guys

We ordered a banquet for 5 of us from here a month or so ago, went to collect and ready in 20 minutes, very friendly and gave us some free drinks too. Food was delicious could have easily fed 10! Will definitely be visiting again :)

Today i visited with my cousin and 2 year old niece for the buffet experience which was nothing short of ABYSMAL! I have rated this a 1 star because zero is not a option. Lets start at our arrival at 4.15pm, i entered the restaurant and was greeted by the manager who state they dont open until 4.30pm and the buffet starts at 5pm, i said this was fine we were happy to wait in the car. We went in at 4.30pm and there was no one around we waited by the desk for around 15 minutes but decided to seat ourselves. At 4.50pm the staff appeared, i asked if we could order 2 cokes when the drinks arrived they were flat so i explained this to the manager and he said he would get us another 2. When he brought these drinks over he slammed them on the table and didn't say a word to us and didn't take the flat drinks away either. This made us feel as if we were an inconvenience to him and guess what... they were flat too!! At this point we should of left but we decided that people have bad days we would continue to the buffet, we had 3 poppadoms between 2 adults and the little one and then headed back to get our mains. I put chicken tikka Marsala , chips and a onion bhaji's on my plate when i went to tuck in i found there was a hair in my bhaji/food, this was a light coloured hair and just so you know i have long dark hair. I called the waitress over, she was lovely and very understanding. She saw the hair herself and acknowledged that there was a hair from my food, i went on to ask her if it was OK to remove this hair from my hand now she had seen this and she said "yes that is fine i will get the manager and apologised" The next thing we know the manager came over to the table and said " What is your problem" very abruptly at this point i advised him of the issue with the hair and his response was " i dont know what your moaning at these things happen". At his point my heavily pregnant cousin said that the service has not been great either and we would just like to leave. The manager then looked at me and said " what is your friend moaning at" the buffet didn't open until 5pm to which my cousin explained that was not the issue , the issue was the service and the hair in my food. The manager went on to say several times very loudly " i dont know what your moaning at" My chief's are all bald, to which the waitress said " it could be an eyebrow hair"( Brilliant ) We decided to get up from the table as his very loud determiner was now attracting a lot of attention to us from other guests so myself , cousin and the baby started to walk out he then started shouting very loudly " you fxxking loony". Shocking treatment from a manager towards myself, My heavily pregnant cousin and a 2 year old! He they cam out of the restaurant with a pad which i can only assume he was taking details down of our car. Having read the other reviews i can see that the manager replies to bad reviews and does not take accountability for anything and just answers with defensive comments or reports the reviews so they get taken down. So lets watch this space to see how long this stays up! Do not go here, instead go the extra mile to the wok-1 in shotton for an amazing service, great food and"Fizzy pop"

Saw the reviews and was right not to believe them. Staff were very nice. I had a buffet and it was what I expected. My partner ordered a set meal and she was happy with it. Only negative was chicken in black nean sauce was like chicken in water. Everything else was fine. Yes would dine here again. Remember you get what you pay for.😊

We where running slitly late and the man I spoke to was so acomadating, he met us at the door with a smile, such a simple thing to do but it makes all the diffrence. Food was spot on and super tasty. I would highly recomend the all inclusive package for anyone going here. The drinks where brought to the table without even having to ask. All in all I would highly recommend this place for a meal out weather it be a family night or business night

A massive thank you to the staff were in tonight the guy that was on was amazing his customer service was on a while other level.we are definitely coming back here. I can't complain about this place. The food was lovely, me and my misses loved every second of it. If you are looking for good food and drink I would highly recommend coming here for food and drink. I would highly recommend the all inclusive section.

Have been a customer for many years and have also messaged The Amantola to complain. The currys were like water and had to eat with a spoon the lamb tikka passanda ordered tasted like carrots?? Very disappointed with the whole order . My son posted a review for me which was removed as I wasnt sure how to do it . Check your receipts 2 kings meals ordered and I messaged you Instead of not accepting a bad FACTUAL review why dont you refund a genuine customer ( Although never again!!) Or get a decent chef that knows the difference between curry and soup . Also check your messages via your web page and you will see my complaint.

Came on the off chance and the service and food were excellent. Lovely portions and it was so tasty and reasonably priced. We will be back.

I enjoyed my korma and onion bajis however found the sauce to a bit watery, my partner did not enjoy his the tikka masala which was very watery that he didn't eat all of it. Please thicken sauces. Thank u :)

Shocking after 9 calls to resteraunt my drinks I paid for have not been delivered

Garlic chilli gravy was excellent with a spicy touch, Hyderabad biryani 4/5 & mix starters sheek kebab well cooked.

As always food was great and delivered hot and early. Recommend.

So disappointed. Been here a few times. Food always good and sides the same. Was shown to our seats by the manager who was on the phone. How rude. Sat down & nobody came to ask for our drinks order so we went to the buffet first. No naan nor bhaji’s , though the latter came out a little while later. Sweetcorn soup and tikka masala were too sweet. Tried sweet and sour but tasted very vinegary. Pad thai was tasteless. Popadums & bhaji’s were the best out of the food I ate. O and we had to go to the bar ourselves to get our water. Thoroughly disappointed and won’t be returning here again.

As you can see from the reviews on not only Tripadvisor but also Google, it seems to be very hit or miss at this restaurant. Unfortunately for me, this time was definitely a miss. After seeing the sad looking buffet upon arrival, I suggested to my party that we leave but they wanted to stay after making a long journey. The buffet was very lacklustre. The dishes weren’t very tasty and a lot of them were unnecessarily sweet with no depth of flavour. Although it may sound harsh, the food tastes cheap and soulless. The service was definitely lacking which was a shame, possibly due to staff cutbacks as there were barely any front of house staff. The manager, although friendly, seems very unprofessional. All in all, I am so disappointed in my recent visit to Amantola and I certainly won’t be back in the near future if at all and I would highly recommend others to be wary about visiting too. Needs some life pumped into the place if it has any chance of survival.

Great food arrived hot and on time.

Fuming! Ordered on new year to have none of the food turn up after hours of waiting and refunded a weeks later but was assured it was caused by them being super busy and decided to give them another try today half of our food was missing and when called to tell them our meals where missing I had the absolute displeasure of speaking with a man who told me repeatedly he packed the bags himself calling us liars and was very rude and abrupt from the get go avoid at all costs!!

Very disappointed with this place.. we went on the banquet all you can eat.. so not sure about the other menus.......the Chinese wasn't proper Chinese food at all. Couple of the curries were ok. No napkins given. The problem was flies !! Dead ones an alive ones.. !! Found going onto the food.. the price is cheap for adults an children.. no desserts available only melon.. only 2 other tables were occupied . Owner/staff member was asleep opposite the reception. Very disappointed.. won't be returning. Such a shame as it was lovely years ago..

Been here a few times and not been bad, but recently went and was terrible. Always like the buffet but nothing was replenished, no chicken wings, no prawn toast, just a couple of popadoms then none! No chutneys apart from the red one! Lots of items that are usually on, wasnt? Chinese food was all cold! Such a shame, used to be nice and plenty of food, just because it wasn’t busy, doesn’t mean we shouldn’t get what we have paid for!

Whilst the food was delivered on time, the pilau rice was missing. This means the food now has to sit, drying out, in the oven while we cook some rice to go with it. As the food wasn’t hot, it would have to be re-heated anyway. It’s now all dry, and the chips are over done.

Rice, poppadoms and naan were all missing from order, so lost a significant amount of our food.

food was very nice, but if something happens that is beyond the control of the restaurant that causes a significant delay in orders being delivered, then it would be far better to call customers to let them know. it will save you having to deal with angry hungry customers who have waited 2 hours for their food.

Haven’t ordered from this restaurant in a while then saw their offer 4x curry for £50. Food is exceptional! will definitely be ordering more frequently. They forgot our coconut ice cream and drove over to drop it off. It was delicious! Delivery driver friendly and great customer service. Highly recommend this place - food today was delivered in no time, was so tasty, good portions, nothing was too much trouble. I think best takeaway I’ve ever had!

Terrible delivery service, late by almost an hour after chasing when 20 mins after expected time and then changed to another 30 mins! I’m not hungry at 9pm having ordered at 6:50

We are regular customers at the Amatola and have never been disappointed however today we found the curry very greasy, we had an item missing and the food arrived late. We understand about the food being later then anticipated seen as it’s bank holiday however we still had a naan bread missing.
