Amantola in Flintshire

Excellent food and the service was first class! Although the four of us went on a Monday night the whole experience was just brilliant.😃

We have been to the amantola 3 times now. Had the buffet and also ordered from the menu. Food has always been great but last Friday my partner ordered the tikka jalfrezi off the menu and said it was the best he had ever had! He also loves the naans, again most amazing he’s tasted. Staff are warm and welcoming and service is fast. We will DEFINITELY be back regularly and recommend to everyone!

Excellent food, well priced, friendly staff, really enjoyed my meal for my 65th birthday, and a free bottle of proseco . We had the set meal for two and it was excellent.

We visited Amantola restaurant for the first time on a week day. We ordered of the menu as the buffet was not on( only on weekends) not a problem. We really enjoyed the food it was freshly made and the naan and parotha was absolutely lovely & fresh. The service was fantastic. Our meet and greet gentleman( sorry didn't get his name) was so attentive and nothing was to much trouble for him. Our waitress was so nice and always smiling. Will definitely be visiting here again with the family. Lovely and clean inside. Good prices for food and drinks. We would definitely recommend for anyone to try Amantola restaurant if you have not been yet. Thank you & See you soon x

Went here whilst on a day out. It was the only all you can eat in the area so we thought we'd give it a try especially at the price of Just £13 each. But when you see and taste the food you begin to understand why its just £13 the food was hot but I'm afraid that's where its ends, most of the cooked dishes were soaked in oil our plates were covered in oil that had seaped out whils eating it. Most of the food was not very tasty and it seemed as if the oil was old. The selection was poor and didn't look appetising at all. The Chinese selection was extreamly poor with not much to chose from, and the big disappointment for me was there were no deserts available in the all you can eat. Only a few of the items were marked up so you wasn't totally sure what you was putting on your plate. So poor was the food I actually filled up on poppadoms which were nice. Staff were OK. When we came to leave and pay they tride to charge for four people, there was only 3 of us. I would not go here again purely because of the quality and lack of selection of food.

Me and my son went for the first time for my birthday last night ( Thursday 21. 3 2024 ) Very very nice and friendly staff , amazing food , 💯 be going back . Great value for money. We both highly recommend it to anyone and I definitely won't be waiting a full year to go back 😀 Toilets are beautiful ❤️ x I definitely picked the right place to go and want to thank all the staff for such a lovely evening x

Visited tonight for the first time and got a very warm and welcoming greeting by the guy on reception Were we taken to our table and told how the buffet works and choosing to go unlimited for £25 per person was definitely the right thing to do, a selection of beers on tap, bottles, wines, spirits and soft drinks and all unlimited All the staff were great and the food was fantastic, the chicken korma was one of the best I’ve ever had, the mixed meat jalfrezi had a nice hear to it and everything was fresh and hot (temperature wise) The only improvement I would recommend is lables on all the chutneys and other items as if you are unfamiliar with Indian food you wouldn’t have a clue what any of the chutneys were Apart from that it was a 5 ⭐️ visit and I’m looking forward to visiting again

The food was tasty but there were not a lot of choices for the buffet advertised as Indian, Chinese and Thai. Some things were not labelled. We went up for food on one occasion to get some chicken tikka massala and there was no chicken in it, just the sauce, so I had to get some fried chicken to go with the sauce. It was delicious though, Also they didn't have any naan breads with the buffet. I can't comment personally on the chinese food as i didn't have any however my partner wasn't impressed with the chinese food. When first entering, it seemed quite cold as if they didn't want to put the heating on, however, after having some curry in my belly I was glad of the now perfect temperature. The service was good and the staff were friendly. Not bad for the price, two of us had the buffet with drinks for a little over thirty pound. They also do an all you can drink buffet where drinks are included with the cost of the buffet. Sounds great if having a night out in Chester, just down the road.

Tried this restaurant tonight was very disappointing experience... chicken tikka massala the meat was tough thr sauce had no flavour chips was ok onion bhajis had a weird taste to them nothing like a normal onion bhaji thr chicken korma was ok nothing really.wrong with the korma but disappointed with the rest of the meal Shame as really wanted to enjoy it Regards Tom

Four of us went to the Amantola for the first time tonight. Wow, what a wonderful experience it was. The food was amazing and very reasonably priced. We went for the buffet menu and the choice was great. Atmosphere was nice and the staff were excellent. I can’t recommend this place enough. We will be back very soon. 5 ⭐️ 😃😃

Unfortunately was a very disappointing visit. Attended tonight for buffet, Food was cold. When we spoke to the owner or manager regarding the food temperatures he advised that they will be cold at points in the evening as the hot plates will only heat them so much other wise they will over cook. He advised If we’d ordered from the menu food will be hot but there isn’t anything he can do regarding the hot plates. No labels on anything my daughter has a dairy allergy the allergy list was hard to follow as the food didn’t have labels. There was barley no staff around to talk to and the manager was too busy watching football and eating crisps at the “waiting” area He also advised they had no labels as the printer shop was shut Very poor attitude from the owner/manager. No atmosphere it was almost awkward to be in there, no music very quiet Not a great selection for a “buffet” No deserts either Wouldn’t recommend

Brilliant night here with friends, good food, great service and great prices. We will be returning here soon! The Chef's special curry is particularly worth a mention!

Amantola was really a superb restaurant a good 10 years ago. I myself have recommended Amantola to my friends and colleagues and would I do the same now, probably No. It somehow went downhill over the years. The service was less than mediocre, e.g., when I visited the restaurant, there were hardly 7 people, but they still managed to get something I have not ordered. Amantola, you have the potential, but you have lost the heart. It's never too late though! Good luck!!

We had our charity awards night here, and they were fantastic. Very friendly staff, nothing to much trouble.

Me and my wife came here for our anniversary meal on Saturday 11th November and decided to do the pan Asian buffet, Food was fresh and tasted great, Front of house manager was wonderful and also the waitresses were very well mannered with a service smile also which was a bonus :) I'm the guy who said the Peshwaari naan bread was the best one I've ever had 😋 Will definitely be back here, Maybe more so just for the Naan bread ha :D

As curry places goes and I’ve visited them all across the world it’s a pretty good place with a great front of house manager. Popped in for a quick curry and all the lads enjoyed it. Will definitely return.

I love the pan Asian buffet here great tastes...but their is definitely room for more options I think also I like that you have papadoms and prawn crackers but maybe naan bread would be a great adaptation and maybe more Chinese options?

Had a buffet here yesterday and it was fantastic something for everyone. Everything was so fresh and there was load to choose from. We had the unlimited food and drink and what a bargain that was. Staff was brilliant never let our drinks run out and was very helpful moving the things round to get our son in his wheelchair in. We will definitely be back. Even thinking of it for Christmas dinner thank you

I’ve driven past this place dozens of times on the way to north wales on various breaks and always wondered if it’s worth a visit, decided to try it on the way back from a walk up Moel Famau and we were not disappointed! We have a tastecard so we got 50 percent off our food bill, it’s only available on the a la carte menu which has some great sharer platter options aswell as the meals you would expect. The food we had was amazing the meat sharer deal at £16.95 a head. The curries (lamb tikka Karahi and chicken tikka Karahi) were really nice and flavoursome with a decent kick. They are also one of very few restaurants that allow the tastecard on a weekend only excluding bank holidays. There is also a buffet option and unlimited option which we are going to come back for (these are not available using the tastecard) so the all inclusive is the buffet option including all drinks at £24.95 a person! With the quality of food and deals like that, plus very friendly hosts, we are willing to return from Widnes with family and friends They also offer Thai and Chinese on the buffet which we are looking forward to trying Great find!

Came today 30/09/2023 for my birthday meal with my husband. Had the unlimited food and drinks buffet £24.95 each. Food and service was impeccable, drinks offered regularly, very clean, good atmosphere, staff so friendly and welcoming. Never fails to impress us this place. Been regulars for 19 years and always impressed. Keep up the amazing work Amantola staff. Will come back again soon.

Visited restaurant last week and had a lovely meal so this week ordered a delivery for 12 colleague on a night shift at work. Everything from ordering online to receiving delivery was spot on. The time and effort was taken to pack everyone's order individually and with care and attention to detail. The food was tasty, hot and plentiful and as it was a large order a few extras were added which was unexpected but a lovely gesture and everyone was impressed. The delivery driver was pleasant and personable. Keep up the good work Amantola you have just gained loads more customers . The freshly made naans are worth a special mention they are divine

Fantastic curry, I had a chicken jalfrezi which I asked to be vindaloo hot and this was done with no problems. I'm looking forward to the next one 👍

Well we are off to the Amantola again this evening for the buffet and all inclusive deal with unlimited drinks of your choice. This by far is our favorite place the staff are excellent and go out of their way to be helpful. The atmosphere is very relaxing and friendly. The food as usual is amazing with so much choice for everyone. We would definitely recommend the Amantola. Thanks to the staff for always making us welcome. Dave & Clive

The folks there will know which customer I am,we usually use another restaurant but after a few less than average meals we tried amantola takeaway,the food was brilliant!(and we like our Indian food)starters fresh and tasty,mains rich and exotic,but best of all keema naan! Moist,full of spicey meat,can't wait for second half tomorrow,we have used same takeaway since moving back to chester a while ago,guess we just found a new favourite!! Thanks folks!!

We have had takeaway from here but eating in person was so much nicer. Lovely atmosphere and theming of the restaurant. All the staff we interacted with were lovely. We got the banquet for one and it was a bargain. The food was so good and came out in good time. The beer on draft was one I hadn't heard of but it was really good and paired excellently with the curry. We ordered extra sides but didn't need them as the portions are so generous. Will definitely be back soon

Been a customer for over 15yrs an the last few years have been shocking 3 last orders have been completely wrong ,and tonight is the last we will order from here again,tonights order did not have one complete correct meal , we didnt get chips , we got pilau rice which was wrong of the 4 only received 3 anyway, ordered through food hub , amantola have actually refused to compensate for missing items yet alone wrong ones!shocking, cost £44 and wont be using again sorry

Havent been here for few yrs to buffet as moved away. Didnt disappoint today. Food choice still as good. Wide range to choose from. Clean and tidy. Toilets immpecable. Great attentive staff but not in ur face. Will def be back again. Worth the journey for us.

Warm welcome. Great staff. Interesting menu. Good licenced bar. Decor inside and outside could be said to be a little bit dated but we don't come to eat the furniture or the curtains. Personally I like a slightly more lived-in feel to a restaurant. Bright and shiny with wooden floors and no alcove for privacy doesn't work for me. Thankfully amantola has a choice of private 4 seat alcove and also open plan areas. Sunday buffets are very popular here. We went on a quieter Tuesday evening. The poppadoms and chutney tray were fresh and excellent. The chicken chat and sheek kebab starters were first class. The chicken chat for me is the best I've ever tasted anywhere. The mains of chicken balti and chicken jalfrezi were amazing. Big portions, great quality chicken, rich sauces. The rice and naan were fine too. Price was very reasonable at under £20 each for all that including a pint each. Highly recommended. PS for takeaways and home deliveries, check out the special meal deals such as the Kings Meal. Brilliant value.

Was at the amantola same night as the incident regarding the two girls we were in a group of 4 and did hear the girls who were just enjoying themselves they obviously had a few drinks but were just merry on no occasion did I notice them on the floor or near the kitchen did feel for the guy running it as he was so friendly and helpful and the food was amazing as I say the guy I take it is the manager did have a word with them and thought he dealt with it well . certainly wouldn’t stop me is going there again great food great staff and great atmosphere recommended 👍👍👍

A Indian restaurant just over the border in Wales very easy to find just look for the pink Elephant's you can see them from the A55 if that is the way you are coming from once hear it is very welcoming. The interior is overwhelming and the decor is stunning friendly staff and the food is good it is a great place for a big group I had a tack away but I am assured it is good

Was in the other night with some close friends the same night the 2 girls were in there. We had no problem with what the girls were doing as we knew they were having a good time and a good laugh with each other, the food was perfect and was all in a good night. The girls did not ruin the night for me and my friends if anything they made it more entertaining, had a lovely night and would 100% be there again very soon. Just read the review from the customer below and personally I think it was bang out of order as no one else had a problem so the comment was definitely out of context with the way they worded it.

Great food, well prepared and All fresh. Reasonable prices and especially outstanding prices for children's meals. Large portion size, even for kids. Price reductions if you visit in the week with their offers. Staff are very friendly and welcoming providing an Excellent service. Lovely relaxing surroundings and atmosphere. Highly recommended.

I visited on fri 11th august with my partner and another couple. I too did hear the girls being a bit Loud and just enjoying celebrating their birthday. Management we’re told and did tell the girls, however they weren’t taking a lot of notice as they were beginning to be come drunk. I didn’t see them going into the kitchen or lying down to take pictures, I think this was an added on made up story, as for what they were wearing, how is that the restaurants fault? In my eyes the manager did all he could and did ask the party that complained if they wanted to move seats. There was no need for the abuse he endured when the party came to pay their bill. As usual the food was amazing and so was the service. Yes the 2 girls were a bit noisy but nothing to the extreme that’s been mentioned in the previous review. We’ve already been back since and will continue to do so. We love the food there.

As we like to class ourselves as regulars to this restaurant we were utterly disgusted by the antics experienced tonight. The restaurant wasn’t exactly busy, there were 2 young females drinking one hardly wearing anything. We are not prude by any means but on this occasion one in particular was taking pictures of herself in the buffet area, flicking her hair near to the food and leaning over the food taking pictures of her bottom and bum cheeks, then proceeded to lie on the floor still taking pictures. Customers were trying to access the buffet and she deliberately ignoring us. Their language was disgusting to say the least, one gentleman took his child away and told them not to use such language in front of their child. The waitresses and manager was told about the conduct and nothing was done about it. The two girls then went into the kitchen to take more pictures of themselves. I’m sure environmental health would be interested to learn of customers entering the kitchen unannounced. After speaking with other customers they too were appalled and embarrassed at what was happening, the manager was blasé and said his hands were tied and nothing he could do or say. This isn’t the first time we have seen people coming and going into the kitchen an area that should be not open to the general public, delivery drivers and what should be a clean environment. Unfortunately this tonight ruined our meal although the food was impeccable as always. They seem to pride themselves on takeaway rather than the customers in the restaurant.

Just had a brilliant meal with a group of friends. We had the sharing plater which was amazing accompanied by king prawns and salmon share plates. The food was amazing we will be back soon.

Great value food. Great tastes. Just had 4 flys around me at one point which did put me off the remainder of my food. Cant compain as its hard to stop bugs in this weather but i didnt see a single insect zapper in sight. Will still revisit on hopes they get the fly problem sorted. Will update review when i do.

Firstly, when we walked in the place smells amazing, the staff were very welcoming and helpful. We had the Sunday Buffet, the selection was fantastic and tasted fabulous. Great value for money.

A 'hidden' gem that I've driven past countless times on the way from Holyhead into the UK. I should have called in sooner as the food is superb and ultra friendly staff even on a quiet night.

Visited recently for the buffet on Thursday night. A large selection of dishes, friendly staff and good service. I'm pleased to say the quality is still high, even though we hadn't been for a few years. Nice mix of starters and mains from a variety of cuisines (Indian, Chinese, Thai).

Having not been to this restaurant for well over 20 years, I took my partner a few nights ago (he'd never been). I used to love going here and having been back, I can't believe I've left it so long! From the moment you walk in, you are greeted like a long lost friend. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. There's a great choice of food available at fantastic prices. My partner was quite shocked at how cheap the dishes are. There's loads of choice and plenty of veggie options. The portions are huge, and that includes starters, sides and mains. I would highly recommend Amantola if you are looking for a tasty, affordable Indian meal. We can't wait to go back!

We called into the Amerntola on our way back from a lovely day out in Wales it was the perfect end to our day, it really was we couldn’t have asked for anything more! When we arrived a member of staff welcomed us and showed us to our table, the lady came to take our drinks order then we went up to the lovely buffet there was so much to choose from, I never know what to try first🤣. The food is always very fresh and very tasty, and very good value for money!! We all had a wonderful time! all the staff were very chatty and friendly we will definitely be going again soon!

This is the best Indian in the area. Everything is fantastic. The nan bread is exceptional as well. The set meals are great and the customer service is spot on. I'll be returning again and again and again. 😀

Visiting from out of town. We know we like Butter Chicken so we both ordered it. I have never tasted such sweet food….I don’t mean sweet like it was good. I literally mean sweet like sugar. Reminded me of very sweet barbecue sauce. Couldn’t taste any kind of spice, tomatoes, just sweet. Very disappointing. I did bring it up to the wait staff and she said it was how it was made. I’ve been to India too so I know it’s not.

Don’t bother wasting your time with this place, consistently bad with delivery times or quality of food.

Visited after seeing the mid week offer of 50% off. We were not disappointed. The food was absolutely delicious, the staff were attentive and friendly. We would definitely return, may take advantage of the Thurs-Sunday drinks and buffet offer on our next visit.
