The best restaurants serving Indian food in Highlands and Islands

Having read the reviews I just can't understand where the positives are coming from. I visited tonight with my partner, arriving around 6pm. We were quickly seated and given menus, but that's where the positives end. I was already surprised when I saw that a pint of Coca Cola was £4.50, but I ordered it regardless. I then saw the waitress at the bar pour a Coke and a Diet Coke from already open 2ltr bottles, meaning both drinks were totally flat. £4.50 for a pint of Coke out of a bottle opened the previous day is daylight robbery. We ordered food at the same time as drinks and after an hour and a half wait we walked out. Don't get me wrong, food was flying out the kitchen, all of which was for takeaway orders. What a terrible look for a restaurant leaving seated guests watching for over an hour as takeaway food flies out the door. Two other guests also questioned the wait and were told it's busy and food will be coming shortly. Interesting to see that their food arrived shortly after complaining. The restaurant is not busy, 6-7 tables is not a busy restaurant, but when you're more interested in fulfilling delivery orders I can see where the problems lie. Not once did one of the two waitresses apologise to me or anyone else for that matter, that only came when you questioned what on earth could be going on in that kitchen. Unfortunately I can't leave a review for the quality of food, but the service is absolutely appalling.

Delicious food with a lovely warm Barra welcome from the staff. Would highly recommend a visit to this lovely buzzy restaurant.

Decided to eat in while we were on holiday in Dufftown abs lots of other people had recommended. I had mixed Tandoori grill - beautifully fresh & generous! Husband had chicken madras with rice & naan - all very good. Lovely staff & good value too …. there’s only 2 takeaways in town but these guys are not complacent & delivered top food

The food is okay, but I'd recommend the wrap. If I had the choice, I wouldn't eat here. Even the takeaway food is pretty bad. Of course, you can't expect anything good from a snack bar, but you'll get better service in Germany. In conclusion: The food is just about okay, okay in a pinch. Otherwise, please don't go.

Great spot for Indian food and non-alcoholic drinks, which (after a day of Scotch tasting) was exactly what we needed. Great service too.

We arrived late in the evening and were very well received. The food is very good and the dishes generous.

It never arrived but got marked as delivered on the app.

Not clean, carpets exceptionally dirty on entrance. Food was dreadful and I have genuinely no idea how they warrant some many stars. Chicken was not cooked in any tandoor that’s for sure, looked like just dipped in red liquid with some salt. Avoid completely.

Me and my wife was visiting Elgin and came across Panache great little place for a spot of lunch. Good for value and food tasted amazing,service was friendly and attentive. Restaurant was warm and was very welcoming. Busy for a Friday afternoon will visit again.

Wasn't amazing. Had a takeaway from here a year ago and quality seems to have dropped somewhat. Very quick delivery which was good. I had Achari which was billed as very hot, it was unbelievably mild, I think the Keema Rice had more heat than the curry. Naans were good but the wifes CT Masala was pretty bland compared to usual back home. Will try elsewhere next time we're up here.

All the curries were quite sweet despite asking for them to be spicy. The naans weren't great but the daal was pretty good. Overall disappointing

Having been to this restaurant on multiple occasions on my visits to Forres it became one of my go to reliable restaurants where I knew I could get something tasty well prepared and at a relatively good price. I was incredibly shocked tonight to find part of th restaurant in darkness, the food bland, greasy, and full of food colouring. If they have changed ownership/ chef and tbh the 2 girls that are serving they shouldn’t have bothered! It was awful and now sadly I will not be back. I would rather skip dinner all together. Oh and be careful they don’t stick an extra dish on your bill without an apology!

lovely staff great food specially the chicken tikka wrap and pakora and mind sauce. I am yet to try the curries but i know they will also be exceptional 👌 best takeaway in Alness

Called in the Indian ocean Middleton road m/cr with my mates to cool off from the hot weather.Cool beers All round then the menu.slipped in another beer whilst our starters came lovely then our mains very tasty first time trying this meal Indian Ocean special.Brilliant with rice & paratha great chefs worth a visit always look forward to my next visit staff always very pleasant & kind.Well done ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

From food to atmosphere, everything was pretty bad. We had the buffet and no single dish was good due to which we went back without eating much. This is clearly not an authentic Indian restaurant. Please avoid this restaurant.
