This Subway has always been great; extremely friendly customer service, great food (sandwiches at other Subway’s are usually a bit burnt) and just an overall friendly Subway.
However, since last year, this Subway has been closed; every time we walk by it is always empty, as in lights never on, same drinks left in fridge ect.
You know it’s been closed a while when you see COVID guidelines telling you to wear a mask and that it’s mandatory; as well as other posters and such laying all over the floor. When searched on Google, it says “Temporarily closed”, however, it’s been well over a year at this point and it shows no signs of re-opening. We know some of the people who uses to work there and they just said that it’s “closed”. It’s a shame; the Subway should be sold if they don’t want to maintain or open it.
Here’s to hoping that we ever see Subway Aviemore open again — I’m hoping 🤞
What a gem of a wee cafe. Had an non Scottish cream tea and a hot chocolate. The scone was delicious as was the hot chocolate.
The owner was very friendly and locals made us feel welcome.
Had an interesting range of arts and crafts for sale.
Would definitely recommend.
Dog friendly too.
Called as a pitstop on a tour. OMG fabulous coffee and the bakes were amazing. Spoilt for choice as everything looked fantastic and a great view of Eilean Donna!
Beautiful cake made for us by Alison and while we were there we had some of her world famous scones with clotted cream and jam . Excellent friendly service from.Mark too .
Today we saw on Facebook that the Black Pearl was open.
We spotted this place 15 months ago but never got the chance to go until now.
We cut it fine with 25 minutes until closing.
However, the staff were superbly patient while we ordered up.
Between us we ordered three chilli pies, one jerk chicken pie and one toastie from the lunch menu.
The food is amazing !
The tastes were just superb !
And don’t be fooled by the description of toastie, it’s a taste explosion !
After finishing our meal ( value for money can’t be beaten on the NC500 by the way ), although closed, the staff were more than happy to chat to us for a while and talk about their menu and drinks
Which brings me onto their own rum punch, just buy it. It will make you a happy bunny !
Don’t forget to buy their own jerk jam and hot honey ( along with a bottle of ready made punch ) on the way out.
Can’t recommend this stunning little place full of atmosphere enough.
This was my second visit to CDN now in the new location of Mey Hotel (a very nice small and friendly hotel nicely renovated) the meal and wine flight were outstanding every innovative serving a great pleasure - some excellent ingredients surprisingly presented to a very high standard / best meal in Scotland on our three week tour of seafood restaurants !!!!
Our family of four stopped over for a night towards the end of the NC500. Good comfortable and clean family room overlooking the loch. Had everything we needed for the night. Would have been nice to have had a cooked breakfast before the next long drive but continental supplied in the room - this was known in advance so no issue.
After moving back to Scotland a few months ago we finally had the chance to eat in The Croft Inn. The restaurant was cosy, the food lovely and service excellent.
We wish Chris, Nat and Tuk Tik continued success and hope to visit again soon.
Family of 8 ordered pizza & collected it last night. Ready half an hour after ordering. Food was really nice. Thoroughly recommend pizzas from here if you’re having a night in.
Well stocked, friendly owners and provides a cafe service. Even the selection of spirits, wines and beers is very good. There is a fresh fish service van that comes to the shope every Tuesday and the quality of the fish is excellent.
Fantastic experience . Thoroughly recommended. Beautiful setting on the Golden Road. Looking forward to return visit with Mercedes 500SL together with our own portable table and chairs!
We were driving from Tarbert to our stay on Isle of Lewis when we were looking for some dinner so we decided to go for some pizza. We didn’t order ahead so after deciding we got a little thingy that would alarm us once our food was ready. It didn’t take long for us to get our two pizzas. Both the „Straight outta Stornoway“ and the „Standing Shroom Only“ tasted amazing.
