A lovely cafe in Lionel. Excellent home made soup and a great selection of home bakes, scones and cakes. A good selection of filled rolls and a varied slection for all day breakfasts .It is small but staff very friendly. There is a super wood burning stove. Some nice souvenirs for sale as well. Well worth a visit if youâre in the area.
Called as a pitstop on a tour. OMG fabulous coffee and the bakes were amazing. Spoilt for choice as everything looked fantastic and a great view of Eilean Donna!
I really canât say enough wonderful things about Amyâs Place, Alison & Mark and such wonderful people who go over and above for their customers, if itâs just cake you want after exploring the beautiful countryside or sandwiches, soup or one of the other very tasty treats on offer you canât go wrong Alison very kindly made me a sugar free pudding when Finding out we were coming to stay for a week nearby and she make all the cakes herself and Mark makes a wonderful coffee or drink of your choosing, I really love all the locally sourced treasures that they sell too and find multiple things to take home with us. Mark & Alison also raised over ÂŁ1800 for MacMillan cancer support charity this year when Alison cut off all her hair, well done Alison youâre amazing. So please stop by and enjoy a tasty treat a drink and two wonderful human beings who run this local business and welcome everyone the same was with a smile and infectious enthusiasm. I canât wait to visit again.
We always visit Portmahomack on our annual holiday in the Highlands and have enjoyed several visits to the cafe. We found out last year that the cafe had changed hands and have visited again this year. Friendly staff and excellent food so still deserving of 5 stars.
I was so impressed with this little coffee house. Not only is the coffee great and the cakes delicious, the ambience is both cosy and friendly, and they remembered my name from one visit to the next. I wouldnât go to Cromarty without going back again.
Tried the jerk chicken and rice in Edinburgh at Leith X-Mas brewery market. You were so lovely to talk to. Your food was absolutely divine, fresh, delicious and brought me so much joy. I think youâre doing gods work bringing new cuisines to more rural communities in Scotland. More of this !!!
Love the refurb they have done to the shop and also the outside seating area. Owners are always looking at ways to update and keep up to date with speed off service. Pre covid you waited in the cafe however the set up now order in shop and then your number is called is so quick. I was well impressed. I travel from Inverness but always stop , so many places need to take a leaf out off the couple who run this and step up their game .
A gold mine . Well done
This was my second visit to CDN now in the new location of Mey Hotel (a very nice small and friendly hotel nicely renovated) the meal and wine flight were outstanding every innovative serving a great pleasure - some excellent ingredients surprisingly presented to a very high standard / best meal in Scotland on our three week tour of seafood restaurants !!!!
Great food, really well cooked authentic Thai food using local ingredients. Quirky pub in a beautiful location. Very warm welcome from a passionate and enthusiastic host.
Lovely museum with excellent displays describing the history and life of the people of Lewis. . As part of our tour, a local guga hunter gave a presentation on how guga birds were hunted . Absolutely fascinating. Sadly, we did not have time to eat at the cafe.
Well, what can I say. Stayed here for two nights to attend a funeral. I knew it was going to be great when, arriving at 22 45, Kieron welcomed me and I climbed the stairs to my single roomâŚ..and the floors creaked. Allways a good sign of an excellent hotel when the floors do that, never failed me. Fantastic little room, attention to detail was superb. Breakfast was out of this world, skillfully prepared and beautifully presented. I didnt need lunchâŚâŚ.. Superb âwakeâ served for around 30 people , amazing soup, sandwiches, tea and coffee and chocolate pudding to die for, so light and guilt free ! Meal in the bistro for me, two cousins and my 9? year old Aunty after the wake.Ina could not have been more attentive. Enjoy this couples excellent service while you can, retirement beckons for them after 23 years !
Family of 8 ordered pizza & collected it last night. Ready half an hour after ordering. Food was really nice. Thoroughly recommend pizzas from here if youâre having a night in.
