What a fantastic find on Skye. We called in for a coffee in the morning, which was very good. After exploring the area for a few hours, beyond the cafe, I suggested to my husband we call in for a bite for lunch as there was not much else open between this place, and going to the Nest Lighthouse. We enjoyed the Quiche and salad, and a delicious piece of home baked slide. A delightful setting and with the sunny day, it was fabulous to sit outside the Yurt and in the garden, enjoying the scenery. Fabulous, friendly service too, and value for money, i.e. not expecting save for the coffee, slices or meal.

We had a lovely time here on Saturday afternoon. First we went upstairs to Skye skyns. We got a nice friendly welcome, it is a beautiful bright space and lots of gorgeous things in the shop. A very nice girl spoke to me and explained the process they use to make the different skins and colours. Next we went into the tea yurt and the lady was lovely there too. All the cakes were scrumptious and the flat white coffee with Oatmilk was perfect. We sat outside on at of the tables, gorgeous views out over the North Atlantic Ocean. Thank you for the friendly welcome 😊 We then went for a walk around the jetty area, enjoyed our trip to Waternish very much. Beautiful place.

Skyeskyns should be on everyone's list when visiting Skye. If you go during summer months, treat yourself to a cake and a coffee at the tannery's tea and coffee yurt. Locally baked and everything served with a smile.

We went here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon after hearing about this place on Tripadvisor. I was particularly intrigued to see what this yurt had to offer. COVID 19 guidelines are in place and we ordered some soup of the day which was a delicious tomato and lentil soup. We also ordered several sweet treats to try such as a scone with butter, jam and clotted cream, a slice of orange, lemon and lime cake and vegan cereal bars. All were very good and presented nicely. Service was friendly and the yurt has a small charm about it. Highly recommended!

My husband and I stopped in for a cuppa when visiting Skyeskyns. The girl serving was lovely and friendly. I had a hot chocolate with coconut milk (it's like drinking a Bounty) and a slice of cake, my husband had a tub of ice cream. The yurt is cosy and bright and being in a yurt cafe was a first for me. I found this on the way to Trumpan and because I was geocaching. There is a geocache nearby and after grabbing that, I made for the coffee. I got a warm welcome from the friendly waitress. I had coffee and scone. The scone was cheese and chive and two helpings of butter. It ranked among one of the best cheese scones I have ever had. I am a sconeaholic. The cakes are made locally. The log burner was lovely and made the place so warm. I chose to sit outside as the sun was shining. I had a sheepskin to sit on. How I would love one of these in my campervan. The coffee was also very good. All in all a good experience highly recommended. A wee piece of heven.

Agree with the other reviews. This is an unlikely place to find at the end of the world. We felt welcomed and in the main enjoyed our stay. The only downside was the cost for the 2 of us. £200 for a snack, breakfast, plate of curry and a bunkhouse bed with no shower and a outside toilet seemed breathtaking expensive. To put this into perspective, we go to a nice hotel each year for a winter break, that's more than we pay per day at the hotel with vastly more civilized amenities. I do understand there are logistics involved at Cape wrath. However for an 'ordinary' local Scottish person I'd be looking to stay at sandwood bay and make a lunch trip to the cafe as I simply can't justify the cost/value. However, it is altogether improbably situated and a must experience if you are doing a long walk. Just be prepae your expectations.

We stayed at Taigh Ailean for our trip to Skye. We also had the opportunity to eat dinner there (Breakfast was included with our stay.) The dinner was so delicious! The view is lovely as you can see the loch from the windows of the bar. All the staff is fantastic and so friendly! I had a great dinner and I would describe it, but the menu changes to suit what is in season and available from the sea. Whatever you get, I guarantee it will be the best! Make sure you call ahead and get a reservation as it fills up quickly. I know that they also have live music, which would be great, but we didn't have any while we were there.
