Without a doubt the best cafe in the area. The food is fresh and the team all lovely and always happy to help. Good gluten free options too and they go the extra mile, not just your usual choices. Always a nice atmosphere and the attention to detail is first class. 😄 ⭐️

Lovely place. We went for lunch and had soup and a gluten free wrap. Is not so big so you can be unlucky and not find a table. Is also a perfect place to go for a cup of tea and a nice cake or biscuit.

You won't find better sandwiches anywhere else. Wow. Arran smoked cheddar is fantastic on their malted barley bread, and the thai chicken soup was a big hit. We came for breakfast (which they don't really do) but we left very happy with our early lunch. Great job.

Delicious food and tasty vegan options. A couple more vegan cakes would be great but otherwise brilliant. Disappointed that on my last visit both varieties of vegetable soup on offer had cream in so weren’t vegan. Also a bit more choice would be good. Despite being a many times visitor to the area we had never been here before and when I read the name of the location my instinct was that it would be small and busy and probably sell cakes and coffee. [Oddly, as a reviewer, I dont always read previous reviews!] Anyhow we got here around 12, got an official car parking space and there were lots of tables inside. 15 minutes later it was mobbed and it was obvious why. From the first contact to the last the service was impeccable, friendly and helpful. My wife who has a chilli allergy got a wee taste of the thai chicken soup to check out just how spicy it was and that was incredibly useful. But the "worst" was yet to come. We opted for the combo deal and my goodness the plate wasn't really big enough to cope with it. Let alone our "seniors" appetite. Tea was served in a proper teapot. A proper BIG teapot and was enough to have lasted us all afternoon but for the fact that there was a queue and I felt bad hogging the table. Let me be quite clear - no one came checking to see if we were finished "to hurry us up", unlike some places weve been in. This is a busy but relaxed place to be and we could have sat all day. The cakes looked amazing but they too were gigantic. So in summary if you're in the area get here early enough to get a space. You wont regret it. In fact as I am writing this review at 6am on the day after, I am thinking maybe today we could go back and manage coffee and cake this afternoon......? This next bit is nothing to do with the location - as we sat in the window of the cafe I was looking out on to National Cycle route 7 and a road I had never explored. That is enough of a reason for me. After lunch we took a drive down it to Loch Insch - stunning views and thence to Ruthven Barracks. If you go slowly it will take around 30 minutes but entirely worth the detour.

After a WET 3 mile walk to get to the OPO we arrived to be told ‘no dogs’. There was an outside area with table and chairs which could have been wiped down, as well as a canopy that could have been used to accommodate us, but no offer was made. We trudged back to our campsite, disappointed. 25% of Scotlands population are dog owners and Speyside is ‘walking country’. We are local to the Highlands and previous customers. We also have our own tourism business but unfortunately wont be able to recommend the OPO to our doggie owner customers….disappointing 🐾😰

My wife and I popped in on our way home from the NC500. My wife had been wanting to visit for a while, but it has always been closed. This time, we had a lovely seat in the corner and were well looked after. The drinks were excellent. We ordered a bagel to share and a cake each. And while it was very delicious, our sum came to £33! For two drinks, two cakes and ONE sandwich. I understand that the cost of ingredients has gone up, but this seems over the top. Cafe time should never be unaffordable, but this is getting close. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and we'll probably be back, but when we have saved up!

Really super lunch!! I must admit, the menu was fancier than I wanted at the time, plus we had 2 fussy boys with us, but the first thing the lovely waiter said (without me asking) was that they could adapt anything to make it simple for the boys, so they had a smoked salmon & cream cheese bagel and a plain cream cheese bagel - both enjoyed immensely. I had the ciabatta with mozarella, pesto & I can’t remember what else but it was really lovely! My husband had focaccia with something lovely too! I loved mine but I would choose the focaccia next time as it was really special. We didn’t have time for dessert unfortunately but next time! Highly recommend and we’ll be back next August!

This tiny cafe has it sorted! Interesting food cooked well - I think they have a new menu as well. Great atmosphere and coffee. Yes, previous reviewers are right, you need to have a bacon and peanut butter sandwich at least once in your life, and Cafe 1925 is a good place to give it a go! As others said prices are reasonable especially given the quality of the food.

Agree with the other reviews. This is an unlikely place to find at the end of the world. We felt welcomed and in the main enjoyed our stay. The only downside was the cost for the 2 of us. £200 for a snack, breakfast, plate of curry and a bunkhouse bed with no shower and a outside toilet seemed breathtaking expensive. To put this into perspective, we go to a nice hotel each year for a winter break, that's more than we pay per day at the hotel with vastly more civilized amenities. I do understand there are logistics involved at Cape wrath. However for an 'ordinary' local Scottish person I'd be looking to stay at sandwood bay and make a lunch trip to the cafe as I simply can't justify the cost/value. However, it is altogether improbably situated and a must experience if you are doing a long walk. Just be prepae your expectations.
