We came here with friends who live locally and had heard about this small cafe. It was a nice day so we enjoyed the sea view whilst the coffees and carrot cake were served to our table. They have half a dozen tables and seating on the grass opposite the cafe, I didn’t see anywhere to sit inside. Cake and coffees were delicious, service very friendly. Good selection of cakes available, small gift items for sale inside. This cafe is out of the way but I am sure it’s reputation will spread. Parking is limited but a lovely walk from Portmahomack means you could park there and walk to this lovely cafe. We bought ice creams for our walk back, what’s not to like. Definitely recommended.

My wife, friends and I called in here during our walk from Portmahomack to Rockfield. What a little gem 💎. To my shame I only live a mile away in the next village and have not visited before. I certainly won’t make that mistake again. We all enjoyed Coffees & Carrot Cake 🍰, which was absolutely delicious. Living locally I’m well aware of the vagaries of the local weather. Fortunately, we chose a stunningly beautiful flat calm day for our first visit. All seating is outside on benches and picnic tables. After introducing myself to the owner we chatted for a little while. She informed me that they will be closing in a few weeks during the off season, dates will appear on their FaceBook page, they plan to carry out some extension work, the plan is to serve hot meals. I wish them every success. Depending on your taste their 'Pièce de Résistance' is their Home Made Ice Cream, delicious. Only 3 of us had some, Almond & Cherry, Honey & Lavender & Lemon. Wow, if I’ve tasted better I can’t remember. Most Highly Recommended, if you plan to visit the area this is a must. There is parking for 3 - 4. vehicles (CUSTOMERS ONLY).

We enjoyed coffee and mocha accompanied by a piece of carrot cake at this gloriously situated cafe. The owners have plans to expand and offer lunches in the future. I hope they fulfil their dream.

we happened upon this marvellous place while visiting Tarbatness lighthouse. Couldn't believe our luck, because we were in need of a seat and some refreshment. We got a great welcome, best coffee, excellent carrot cake, a seat under the parasol outside (we could have stayed all day!) AND to top it all - a fine selection of home made ice cream to go - husband had vanilla and I had hazelnut praline -which was wonderful. we will be back!

Spent such an interesting day around Tarbat. Our visit was enhanced by the welcoming, bijou cafe, Star Dreme, down by the sea in Rockfield, where we enjoyed the best coffee we've had for a while along with a delicious scone, jam and proper cream!

I arrived on the coast path from Balintore at about 10.40am, delighted to find this lovely cafe. Unfortunately, the sign on the door said CLOSED. I looked a bit closer to see when it opened (11am), and started to walk away to find somewhere to wait. I heard a voice behind me: "Would you like a coffee?" I was welcomed warmly, and very much appreciated the flexible opening time! I had coffee, and a delicious (and very generous) slice of cherry and chocolate brownie, which gave me the energy I needed for my walk back to Balintore. What an amazing place!

Excellent coffee and homemade ice cream and cakes. Cold drinks available. Vegan options. Right on the sea in Rockfield Village. We sat outside and saw some dolphins. If you are feeling adventurous, you can walk here from Tarbat Ness Lighthouse.

What could be better than this! A quaint shop run with love. Available - home made baked goods, home made ice cream, coffee, tea and gifts with space to eat inside or out. We had the coconut ice cream and it was the best by far that we have ever had. The scenery looking out over the North Sea was beautiful with views of a restored castle. It definitely worth seeking it out and enjoying all that it has to offer!!

Was home on hoidays last week and went for a wee run in the car with my folks. Thought we'd visit Stardreme Cafe @ Rockfield & glad we did. All the previous reviews are spot on. The ice cream was something else - truly scrumptious & far supreme to any ice cream I've tasted in a long time - had a scoop of freshly made hazelnut praline & rich chocolate ice cream. The vista there is something else ... well worth the drive down the steep hill leading to Rockfield. The cafe is 'compact & bijou' only seating around 4 folk, but there's plenty of outdoor seating so on a nice day you can enjoy a bit of fresh sea air, some wind and a hot drink, tasty scone or cake & a good blether... believe the owners plan to extend the premises later this year to allow for more indoor seating. Why not walk the 5km from Tarbatness lighthouse, along the coastal path and visit here before walking back ......

We stayed at Taigh Ailean for our trip to Skye. We also had the opportunity to eat dinner there (Breakfast was included with our stay.) The dinner was so delicious! The view is lovely as you can see the loch from the windows of the bar. All the staff is fantastic and so friendly! I had a great dinner and I would describe it, but the menu changes to suit what is in season and available from the sea. Whatever you get, I guarantee it will be the best! Make sure you call ahead and get a reservation as it fills up quickly. I know that they also have live music, which would be great, but we didn't have any while we were there.

This place was one of our favourite holiday ‘finds’ after meandering along the long, beautiful road from Glenelg, not knowing what was at the end (our favourite past time). That was 8 years ago and we discovered the best home-made salmon quiche I’ve ever tasted set in tiny area of eclectic seating with the local fauna sitting at your feet, all set with a stunning backdrop. Everything about it felt home-made in its genuine sense- like a reward for travellers rather than a cafe. We felt we’d found the world’s best kept secret.. So we returned. All just as beautiful and the food just as delicious, just with a place to sit inside if the clouds let go. So glad Sheena’s is going strong.

This tiny cafe has it sorted! Interesting food cooked well - I think they have a new menu as well. Great atmosphere and coffee. Yes, previous reviewers are right, you need to have a bacon and peanut butter sandwich at least once in your life, and Cafe 1925 is a good place to give it a go! As others said prices are reasonable especially given the quality of the food.

Recomiendo.

We came here after the fairy pools. I only ordered an oat milk latte, and it was one of the best coffees I have ever had and the best i had on the island. My other half got cakes and said they were very nice.
