We had some really delicious cake and tea. I would definitely recommend the banana chocolate cake and the apple caramel cake. The service was really nice and I would definitely stop there again.

My husband abd I topped at the Roybridge café on our way home from Glencoe. We were made very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our homemade sandwiches and scone. We will be adding it to our list of great stopping off places.

We really liked this little cafe. There is some nice quality artwork for sale inside and the decor is nice. The staff / owner was friendly and helpufl and did his best to do something vegan for me.

Great to find a privately run cafe open in February out in a rural location. A good friendly welcome, great coffee and a tasty risotto. Hope you get many customers

Third visit to this cute little cafe, sandwiches are delicious, coffee is too. I would highly recommend a pit stop if you are passing, much better quality of food than the mass produced chain coffee shops. Owner is friendly and lovely locally made gifts on sale too.

We stopped on the way south from Skye. Lovely coffee served by the friendly owner. The cakes looked amazing - we didn't try any but next time, defo. Also good to see home made soup on a menu.

Charming little cafe with delicious sandwiches, coffee and the best scone in Scotland (and we have been conducting an in depth scone tasting at every stop). The proprietor was delightful, friendly and makes a great of coffee!

Stopped here on the way to Edinburgh after a week in Skye. We were looking for a cafe, drove for many miles with no success before we came across this one. I am glad we did! The food is nicely presented and very tasty, and the drinks were hot - even my espresso, which I usually find is served lukewarm, was perfect. Would definitely recommend to anybody passing through the area.

We ordered 2 panini's with cheese and ham. When it arrived that's all there was on the big square plate Nothing else with it, no salad, crisps etc. The cheese was clearly one of those squares from a packet. A lot of money at £8 each for poor presentation.

Visited Annie’s bakery whilst visiting up visiting family in Thurso. Amazing value for money alongside fabulous savouries and sweets. So much time and effort put into each. Transported plenty of goodies home to North Yorkshire, we will be back!! ☺️

We stayed at Taigh Ailean for our trip to Skye. We also had the opportunity to eat dinner there (Breakfast was included with our stay.) The dinner was so delicious! The view is lovely as you can see the loch from the windows of the bar. All the staff is fantastic and so friendly! I had a great dinner and I would describe it, but the menu changes to suit what is in season and available from the sea. Whatever you get, I guarantee it will be the best! Make sure you call ahead and get a reservation as it fills up quickly. I know that they also have live music, which would be great, but we didn't have any while we were there.

Agree with the other reviews. This is an unlikely place to find at the end of the world. We felt welcomed and in the main enjoyed our stay. The only downside was the cost for the 2 of us. £200 for a snack, breakfast, plate of curry and a bunkhouse bed with no shower and a outside toilet seemed breathtaking expensive. To put this into perspective, we go to a nice hotel each year for a winter break, that's more than we pay per day at the hotel with vastly more civilized amenities. I do understand there are logistics involved at Cape wrath. However for an 'ordinary' local Scottish person I'd be looking to stay at sandwood bay and make a lunch trip to the cafe as I simply can't justify the cost/value. However, it is altogether improbably situated and a must experience if you are doing a long walk. Just be prepae your expectations.

Food was nice and service was, for the most part, friendly. One server seemed to be having a bad day. Brusque and barely civil. Very expensive for what was served.

Your restaurant came highly recommended and the food and wine was absolutely superb. Unfortunately this is where the great experience ended as we have never been made to feel so uncomfortable in a restaurant by the people serving us, to the point that we couldn't wait to pay the bill and leave! We were the first table in the evening at 5pm and were seated right by the bar but we struggled to get eye contact with the staff who were either chatting behind the bar or staring into space. At no point did they ask us if everything was ok or if we wanted another drink. We tried to engage them in some chatter when they served us but to no avail. I don't know if in someway we offended them but we really could not work out what we had done wrong to be treated this way. Unfortunately we will not be returning, which is a shame as the food is excellent. Fortunately our evening was not completely spoiled as a visit to the local community centre in Nairn found us invited to a Ceilidh and a very warm welcome and fun evening.
