Stopped on our last leg of the NC500. Would definitely recommend, delicious food and great atmosphere with a beautiful view across the lake. Really good for a vegetarian option. Lovely evening.

Really fabulous dinner - we both had the catch of the day, trout and scallops with samphire - sublime, perfectly cooked..Really friendly staff, and genuinely dog friendly. Charlotte brought water for our Basset pup and put her at ease. Perfect. Don't know why we've not been before, but we'll definitely be back thanks guys.

Fresh produce, excellent execution: someone in the kitchen really knows what they are doing. The scallops with black pudding and chorizo were a particular highlight. The owners are super welcoming and were really sweet to my father, whose birthday it was. Nice vibe and somewhere you could go equally with a bunch of friends, or for dinner as a couple, or with family. 100% recommend.

Amazing view, amazing service, we didn’t have a booking but we sat at the bar and they found us a table soon enough. The food was well worth the wait Best to book as it’s worth it!

We had a delicious meal at this restaurant. The welcome from the owners was very warm and we were well looked after all evening. We took our two dogs with us who were also made very welcome.

Solid dinner. Enjoyed short rib with nice vegetables. Everything was nicely cooked and presented but nothing was particularly remarkable. Friendly and attentive service, probably the best we had in Scotland. Nice ambiance. The sweets with the check were enjoyed by all. The prices were on the high side.

Delicious food well prepared and thought out. We had been traveling all day so portions were a bit on the small side but tasty. Friendly staff made us very welcome.

Booked in, in advance whilst schlepping round the NC767 on two wheels solo. The reviews of this somewhat spartan little eatery promised much. And whilst the food was, from memory, perfectly OK, I struggle to recall anything notable about either the environment, the service or the food. Please understand, that is not to say it disappointed - it absolutely didn’t. It simply didn’t quite live up to my expectations borne of the other rave reviews. I do recall feeling a little flat afterward (probably I was expecting more given the other rave reviews) but I also recall that the food was well cooked, tasty and served promptly. But no “wow” factor. Scotland and the West Coast in particular has some stunning produce to offer. In the case of this little eatery I found that my meal was nothing too memorable but certainly a worthwhile stopover when transiting the NC and in a setting like Lochcarron the views are a force multiplier. This eatery gets a solid three stars and a thumbs up.

We had a wonderful three course dinner, the scallops were perfectly cooked, the venison really fine and the Sticky Toffee Pudding wonderful. Absolutely nothing to complain about.

We enjoyed a fabulous evening here. Staff were more than welcoming. Drinks were lovely as we watched the sunset through the large glass window, on the loch. We didn't eat but were surrounded by many happy customers. Would gladly return too stay on another occasion.

We had to drive quite a while to get to this restaurant since many were full or closed, but it was easily worth it! Unfortunately the restaurant was full, but the bar room still had some space and the host was kind enough to allow us to eat there. The food was terrific and we had some nice chats with some of the other guests, who told us they were staying in the hotel as well and really enjoyed their stay. We may have to come back here some time!

Humble setting and perhaps a small menu but we are out of season. Delicious quality food and was a total pleasant surprise. Beautiful cod fillet and delicious chocolate brownie which could rival any top restaurant. Lauren is a lovely host. Would thoroughly recommend

We tried to eat here but we're curtly dismissed by the owner as they do not serve food to non residents. Clearly a disadvantage if you are a restaurant seeking tourist.

I didn’t stay in Rockvilla but i was organising a group of TVR owners on the North Coast 500 and 3 of the group did stay here. They could not have been more complementary about the welcome from Wendy and the fantastic breakfast she prepared....

Ate here for breakfast and evening meal for the whole of our stay. The choice at breakfast was amazing for a small guest house and the evening meals were delicious. Would most definitely recommend

Das ehepaar macht sich viel Mühe seine Gäste zu verwöhnen. Alle Speisen sind frisch und die Inhaberin steht nicht auf Friteusen, was wir super fanden! Sehr auf lokale Köstlichkeiten ausgerichtet, Bier aus der nur 5km entfernten Brauerei, Muscheln fangfrisch, was will man mehr!

Después de un colapso de coches mientras conduce el NC 500, tuvimos una estancia no planeada en Lochcarron y tuvimos suerte de conseguir a último momento en Rockvilla. Lo que un verdadero golpe de suerte resultó ser. Nos dieron la más grande frente a habitación en-suite con cama doble muy cómoda. La habitación tiene unas vistas fantásticas del lago especialmente al amanecer. Wendy y Pete son unos anfitriones fantásticos (y Holly el laboratorio negro era precioso). Wendy sirve la mejor comida en la ciudad, con generosas porciones (dudo que muchos serán capaces de terminar los tres cursos). Tienen una buena selección de cervezas y un bar escocés razonablemente equipada. Sin duda nos alojaremos aquí de nuevo la próxima vez que estemos en la zona.

Amazing food! A small restaurant with calm music creates a cozy atmosphere. The view is nice. I really enjoyed the food; the seafood tagliatelle and thai chicken were great! I hope I can come back soon!

Nos alojamos 3 noches en el apartamento en el B&B que satisfizo nuestras necesidades perfectamente. También gozamos mucho comer en el B&B's restaurant donde la calidad y la presentación de la comida era de primera clase. Los propietarios eran excepcionalmente bueno y servicial con sus recomendaciones para excursiones, etc. dentro de la zona.

Rockvilla restaurant is excellent. All the dishes are most thoughtfully and individually prepared, arriving piping hot and fresh. The range on any one night is remarkable, but the variety in no way detracts from their quality, and all have an emphasis on local and organic products and greens from little farms and gardens up the hill above Lochcarron. The emphasis is on seasonal ingredients and what is freshly available and tasty. I enjoyed everything I tried. Wendy is an extremely fine cook. The blue cheese stroganoff is particularly good, as is all the fish, and any of the soups. There is an intriguing list of regional beers available and the wine is very good. The atmosphere in the dining room ranges from a quiet, relaxed friendliness to a general cheery conversation between the tables about the doings of the day, depending on the spontaneous inclination of the diners, but all is natural and unforced. Meanwhile all the meals are served with total efficiency mixed with a general cheeriness and unflagging attentiveness to making all comfortable and happy for the diners. I most highly recommend a meal here.

Ate here first week in September. Lovely people and food was first class. Recommend the sea food dishes really good. Desserts are on the generous side so be prepared for calorie overload!!! Prices are slightly on the high side but overall a really nice experience.

Not much choice of places to eat in Lochcarron, but this place deserves to succeed because the owners are friendly and although the menu is limited, the food is good.

We had some great seafood at Rockvilla. The restaurant is located at the shore in the very nice village Locharron. Don't miss the sticky toffie pudding!

After a long day we received a very friendly welcome here and we appreciated that they stayed to cook for us after their normal closing time. Compared to some of the outstanding restaurants in the area the food here was quite basic comfort food.

Sur les conseils de notre hôtesse, nous avons dîné dans le restaurant d'un B&B voisin. Plats à base de poissons du coin merveilleux: maquereau, hareng saumon. Un porc épicé aux poivrons sublime. Et en dessert, meringue aux fruits des bois et crème fouettée à tomber par terre!! Les patrons (lui au service, madame est en cuisine) sont charmants et très sympathiques.

Rockvilla has a couple of tables, which are normally occupied by their guests and if not all rooms are booked, they might have some tables for other people.The menu is a mix of dishes they have in the menu and items written on the blackboard on the wall (so extra fresh).The portions are pretty generous and taste great. Be aware that close to the see, most dishes will be... fish :)Family restaurant and the son of the house was there this week and did the serving of dishes which was a joy.

Went to Rockvilla for dinner while visiting family. The owner was very welcoming and friendly. The selection of dishes on offer was good and we all found something we liked. The quality of the food was excellent and the helpings very generous. We all had a very enjoyable meal and the price was very reasonable. Would highly recommend.

I stayed here a couple of years ago with my husband and we had another lovely trip this summer. Although the weather was no perfect but you cannot guarantee this in Scotland in the summer! We stayed in June and we had a fantastic time. The food was delicious and you can tell very good quality. My husband loves your seafood and haggis. I love the options on the menu and it is all fresh. Room was fantastic with great view and lovely location for walks. I cannot wait for another visit to Scotland! I hope we do not have to wait another 2 years. Tack så mycket.

Food is fine but really overpriced. We were met in a very grumpy fashion and not made to feel welcome. There are no low price options here and limited choice. We've had lovely food here some years ago but won't bother coming here again.

Wir hatten ein wunderbares und fantastisches Abendessen mit einheimischen Bieren aus kleinen schottischen Brauereien. Der schottische geräucherte Lachs als Vorspeise ist ein Muss für jeden Fischliebhaber. Die Hauptgerichte sind phantasievoll, köstlich und mehr als ausreichend portioniert. Die Desserts sind ein einziger Traum. Hier isst das Auge wirklich mit! Liebevoll zusammengestellt und geschmacklich grandios kommen hier verschiedenste Leckereien auf den Tisch!! Ein unvergesslicher Abend bei tollen Gastgebern!

What wonderful hosts. This family run business made us feel like family. Our vegan friends had a custom wonderful dinner made for them! We had the meat portions. The haggis was wonderful. First time I ever had it. The restaurant was full but you always felt that you were the most important. Thank you for a great evening. PS. The sticky pudding was best desert I had in years.

We recently visited Lochcarron for my birthday weekend and decided to go to Rockvilla - what an excellent decision that turned out to be. We had the Cullen Skink which is the best I have ever had and the Seafood Linguini for main. The food, service and value for money were exceptional and it was so good we returned the night after for dinner again. If you are in the area, you have to visit Rockvilla.

We had a lovely dinner here - we were first to arrive so were a bit apprehensive but were not disappointed. Friendly hosts and lovely meal. We had the cullen skink and the aultbea haggis with drambuie to start and the seafood tagliatelle for mains, all well cooked and generous portions.I would have liked neeps with the haggis (and a little less haggis) but that's not a complaint just an observation!

Found this gem of a restaurant while searching for BnB lodging in Lochcarron. Wendy's rooms were sold out for the night, but she was kind enough to book us alternate accommodation elsewhere in town.After that reception, we decided to return to The Rockvilla for a home-cooked meal in the restaurant section. We ordered asparagus soup and haggis for starters; stir-fried spicy beef and seafood tagliatelle for mains. All of it was excellent. Very enjoyable atmosphere, thanks to Wendy and Peter having introduced us to our fellow diners.

A short menu, but only great quality. The seafood pasta and deserts were to die for! Wendy and Peter are very nice hosts. Everything was perfect.

We stayed at the Rockvilla a coupe of weeks ago and it was brilliant. The view from the room was breathtaking, we looked right out over the loch. The room was excellent, clean and modern. We had an eveing meal, which is the best meal I have had in years. I'm veggie and had wild mushroom pasta, totally yum. Hubs had beef stir fry and loved it. The breakfast was great too, lots of choice and big portions. Loved every minute of it, stunning location. Thank you for a lovely stay, hope to be back soon.

Had the Haggis for a starter and had seafood tagliatelle for mains, big portions, excellent flavour, Wendy even threw in a couple of edible flowers.

We booked the Rockvilla - 8 of us, from the 19th - 26th of July 2014. It was excellent. The Villa is fantastic for a family holiday or a group of friends just wanting to meet up and have a wonderful time. The bedrooms are big and spotlessly clean and the bathrooms are modern and we had lovely fluffy towels. The kitchen was out of this world, with everything you could wish for including 3 ovens and a big American fridge freezer and another 3 fridges!! Loads of crockery and pots and pans. We had the full run of the whole villa and it was just magic. Wendy even agreed to let us have the key early so we could go to the Highland games - and she made us a wonderful beef bourguignonne in the slow cooker for when we returned. We cannot recommend the Rockvilla highly enough - I am afraid you will have to try it yourselves and yes we would all want to return again and again and again. So thank you Wendy, Peter and Ben for letting us have your wonderful Rockvilla for the week, oh and for the beautiful sunshine and scenery the views were awesome, just out the bedroom window to Lochcarron who could have wished for more really. Andy, Vera, Anne, Murray, Donald, Fiona, Diane and Michelle.

Not only was the food great at Rockvilla Restaurant (the menu offered a small, but great and diverse selection of food), owner and cook Wendy was a delight as well. Her views on food are inspiring. And she was probably the nicest person we met on our trip (which says something with all the great folks!), which made this night out our best in Scotland.

We stayed here for 3 nights and ate at the restaurant on two night.Lovely, friendly, relaxed atmosphere in this small restaurant. Good vegetarian choices for me and my husband really enjoyed his thai curry. The salad to start was delicious too. The portions are quite generous so be sure to leave space if you have a sweet tooth/I'd recommend the sticky toffee pudding!Shame we live 10 hours away :)

The food is absolute fresh and perfectly cooked!the Thai rise is a really Thai spicy plate and it was super!staff (mum and son) is simply fantastic!we stayed in the b&b for the night and it was simply lovely!o would suggest rockvilla to everyone who is visiting Scotland!

Delicious food, especially the Cullen Skink and the warm mackarel salad. The food is very fresh, colorful and good-smelling, always presented with great care: pleasing to the eye, the nose and the mouth! Desserts are also great. The service is excellent, warm and friendly atmosphere, beautiful location. Very clean and tidy, cozy and relaxing. Made me love Scottish cooking!

The Rockvilla is a nice enough place. The staff - a mother & son team - are friendly & welcoming and the atmosphere convivial. But the food, alas, is pretty average. The Cuillin Skink - a traditional creamy soup with smoked haddock & potatoes - to start was pretty good but after that it was a bit of a let down. The seafood in my seafood linguine turned out to consist pretty much exclusively of salmon. My wife's veggie lasagne was ok but really needed a bit more cheese sauce to make it suitably sloppy & delicious. If I'd made either at home I would have been disappointed with the results (though I am a pretty good chef if I say so myself). Portions are large so in the land of the hungry diner they may be king but for me it's a hard place to love. Maybe it's the tartan carpet. Maybe it's that I wish it was the pub that it once was. Or maybe it's because the Lochcarron Bistro a few doors down the road is just so much better. I doubt that we would pay a return visit next time we are in town.

All the food was prepared to a very high standard. The service was excellent and all at affordable prices. All food was freshly prepared and sourced locally. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Rope grown mussels were delicious. Veg lasagne was very tasty and the beef linguine was superb. Host was great, cozy atmosphere and stunning setting on the loch.

Called in to eat having known the Rockvilla before as a pub with very good food and found that it had become this fabulous restaurant. There was a mix of families, couples and friends and there was no problem that we were in full walking gear despite the high standards of the presentation and the food. Both main courses and deserts we had were fabulous and we were jealous of the starters others were having as these looked outstanding! Local Scottish beers and the chance to have a whiskey on the sofas at the end of the meal completed the perfect experience - highly recommended!

This is, without doubt a gem of a restaurant. Run by Wendy and Peter Bartlett, they provide a wonderful dining experience. You must try the Altbea haggis with whisky and cream and the seafood linguine. We cant wait to return.

We have dined here three times during our stay in Rockvilla B&B and it was great. Before visiting Rockvilla we thought that fish and chips is the best you can get in Scotland, but after having a warm mackerel salad and seafood dishes here we definitely changed our minds. The food is fresh and just melts in your mouth. The restaurant decor is very aesthetic and the atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing dinner after a day of exploring Scotland. Don't forget to order dessert from the small dessert board - meringue is just great. The restaurant also offers a choice of local ales which are worth trying.

Had dinner at the Rockvilla Restaurant during a two night stay at the guest house. Wendy and Peter make you feel very welcome and the food is of a high standard. I had fillet steak which was probably one of the best I have had in a long time. All in all it was a very enjoyable dinner and I would definitely return the next time I am in the area.

We enjoyed an absolutely delicious meal at Rockvilla last week during our stay in Lochcarron. Our starters, mains and dessert were all first class - one of the best meals I have ever had for consistent high quality, flavour and presentation, and with excellent friendly service too. A large group, thirteen of us has selected menus for pre-order meals, when our arrival at the restaurant, they has prepared well for us. We keep Peter busy on drinks order before the meals served, all food were delicious and excellent tasting which Wendy was cooking. Some of us has bit disappointed that Cullen Skink has bit watery within few fishes and many potatoes! We think perhaps she made soup in last minute, or add water or semi skinned milk to fill up soup for extra number which we has ordered! however, the main course were excellent, same as the desserts.We all enjoyed much ourselves.

This place is absolutely amazing. The hosts Wendy and Pete are lovely and very accommodating. Really good fresh produce and its all homemade which is even better! Best restaurant in the Highlands in my opinion, been here the past few years as they are always consistent and the rooms have been refurbished to an excellent standard! So so fab, myself and my husband will be back soon!

The restaurant sits right by the lake with a great view. It is very cozy and inviting. The menu has a nice selection of local fair to choose from.Chef Wendy makes you feel like royalty. Her food is first class,fresh,local and delicious.

Really a restaurant with rooms, super value, food was excellent & Wendy & Peter did an excellent job of cooking and serving. We had room 1 which was a lovely big room with good ensuite facilities and magnificent views over the loch. Really nice menu and again super views over the loch and beyond.

Wendy & Peter made us feel very welcome when we stayed with them in June 2013. The home cooked food was great, breakfast was massive and kept you going all day. Great location, great people, great place to stay as a biker as it's not far from Applecross - we didn't get there due to weather but will be back to try again some time! A great little find with a good location, huge comfortable room, great for all our clobber! Great base to visit Plockton & Isle of Skye.

My wife and I have been going Lochcarron now for 4 years and a visit to this Restaurant is a must!The menu is small & simple (how restaurants should be) and there is also an ever changing specials board.Wendy & Peter source their food locally where possible and I have to say it is cooked to perfection.We were there in June this year and popped in to celebrate our anniversary.Both of us opted for the steak and it was beautifully cooked.Its amazing how many times you can go out to a restaurant and not get a steak cooked, how you like I,t but there is no danger of that here.Nice atmosphere, wonderful outlook and excellent food.Finally we would like to say what a wonderful welcome we received from Wendy & Peter.A lovely couple who work really hard to make this little place the gem it is.

Really nice and friendly people! Very clean room with a great view over Lochcarren. The "Full Scottish Breakfast" is phenomenal! It gives you energy for the whole day ;-)

Attached to the Guest House of the same name, Wendy and her husband Peter serve lovely home cooked meals in generous portion sizes. A well stocked bar compliments the food. Bookings essential as we saw a few people turned away!

I ate here three times while staying in Lochcarron for a week. Food was wonderful each time. Atmosphere was great. Very personable service from Ben and the rest of the staff. I hope they stay profitable and in business for many years to come, as I want to come back for seconds! Best of luck!

I wrote a review last year but it seems to have gone, so here is a new one. Good food,fine folk . best Hotel in Lockcarron. We will be back.

Very nice and quiet little B&B where we ate our evening meal. Food was just lovely!! You have to book this though, there is a note on the door that states no walk in's understandably as the restaurant area is quite small but quaint!

Beer, venison, lemon cheesecake were delicious. Peter, Wendy and Ben were very friendly and welcoming.

Excellente cuisine, des plats copieux, un accueil sympathique, des prix raisonnables et un joli choix de whiskies.
