Food and service were good. The ambience has absolutely nothing to do with a restaurant. It was freezing cold and the radiator running didn't make much difference other than noise. You should dress warmly.

This was our first time eating Maltese cuisine and this restaurant was fantastic. The food was excellent and we appreciated how they took the time to tell us about it. They clearly care about the community they’re in and it seems like a place that locals enjoy, too. Definitely recommended.

This is a gorgeous place to get delicious food. I’ve only been in the place once to eat but we’ve had takeaway from them a few times. The food is so interesting and so different from the usual fare up here. The variety is amazing and the small plates mean you can get a variety of things to share. They are opening again in November at the weekends, so we must go through again. Highly recommend this lovely restaurant - the staff are all lovely too 💝

As described on the menu introduction, we shared all the dishes we had. We enjoyed the hearthbread, squid rings and Maltese pulpetti (meatballs) with spicy sauce and pasta. The side salad had more pickled vegetables than we would have liked. We followed this with the churros sundae. The service would have been better if the drinks had arrived before or just after the food, we had to ask for them. Also if the staff knew what to daily variations were (side salad description says to ask about today's salad) and which dishes were not available - and let you know when they gave you the menu. The service was attentive and the right words were used, however the tone was abrupt and curt. So good food, but service could have been better.

This restaurant was such a pleasant surprise! We really enjoyed tasting Maltese cuisine, which is not a cuisine that we had previously tried. The menu is large and the dishes are great for sharing. If you like pizza or calzones, certainly try a ftira, which was delicious! The cold salads (olive salad in particular) were great as well.

Hearing about this place, my fiancee wanted to surprise me with a dinner here. A Maltese Restaurant in Scotland. I am sorry but although the concept is there and the cuisine may be inspired by Maltese cuisine, tastes are far from Maltese cuisine tastes. The only authentic Maltese was our beloved soft drink Kinnie, which was very much overpriced. Entering the Restaurant, it smells of oil, not a pleasant welcome. the service was somehow rude, restaurant was not busy and me being Maltese and excited to be in Maltese Restaurant in Scotland, I started asking some questions of how the owners relate to Malta and it's cuisine. The waiter cut short and was very dry and his facial expression showed that he was annoyed. Ordering Food, we asked for Kusksu (Broad Beans Soup) - Not available, I asked for Stuffat tal-Fenek (Rabbit Stew) - also not available, I chose sausage & mash (zalzett u maxx), it says Maltese/Italian style, it had nothing Maltese in it, and I doubt the Italian style to. I suggest to remove the word Maltese from that. My Fiancee had Kapunata, it was not bad 6.5/10, but nothing Maltese here either. Bragjoli (Beefolives) and tuna fishcakes (pulpetti tat-tonn), were not even close to Maltese, and were tasteless. We were very disappointed with the food and service. I also would suggest that since Food tastes nothing like Maltese, please do not promote the restaurant as Maltese cuisine, because it is not, and clients will get a very bad impression of our cuisine.

We came here on the second night of our NC500 trip after reading the reviews and looking at the menu we thought it would be the best place to go for our one night out meal that we had planned for the trip! We seen the £1.50 charge for tap water along with their reasoning why, thought ok fair, but the glass came and it was dirty along with the wall beside it. The food was somehow both burnt and cold? The macaroni was tasteless even though it was 4 cheeses! The pasta was also crunchy. The arancini was like baby food in the middle and the served sauces were cold, obviously straight from the fridge. The pictures on the website are not a true representation of what was served to us that night. I cannot complain too much as I did not say these things to the owners in person, however, with how much was left it was clear it was not enjoyed. We left by paying and let them know it was not to our tastes. Maybe we should get some backbone as paying £55 for something we didn’t eat / enjoy wasn’t great!

A little different than your usual takeaways, a very small family business cooking on the spot Mediterranean and Maltese foods at its best. Sometimes they might not have a full menu, as family business they don't hold an endless supply of fresh food. You have to take your own wine and meals aren't instant (ie not chef mic'rowave) so relax and enjoy your company and the food .... its real not plastic/processed.

A unique place in Scotland, the owner takes care of the dishes by preparing everything from the raw materials, which is why she is super helpful and can advise on the choice of the menu. The food is quality, genuine, without too many condiments and seems to be homemade. The menu is large and varied, plates and cups are original, the service is complete even if a little haphazard. The bread products are excellent, the churros fantastic and also the giardiniera. The place is very simply decorated and it was a bit cold inside. It does not serve alcohol but you can bring your own. A real shame that such a good place is located in such an unfrequented place, I would definitely go back!

Staying at a local campsite, we walked here for our evening meal. The food was OK and the side salad was really nice, although they didn't have my first choice and were out of stock of a couple of the mains. The tapas did look good, but garlic bread was a little too oily/buttery. Was a little disappointed we weren't told they were unlicenced and a BYO on booking, as had I known, I would have certainly brought a nice bottle of wine with me to enjoy with our meal. Never judge a book by it’s cover! From the outside this restaurant may look like a cafe or boutique style shop (and I don’t mean any disrespect by this comment), but once inside the Printer’s Rest is exceptional. A small, low key restaurant (booking is advised), with a simple but comfortable set up, the Printer’s Rest first surprised us with a menu of Maltese/Sicilian blended food with ingenious variations on so many dishes. Every meal, be it a starter, main course or desert had an interesting and original style, we wanted to try so many of their options. The staff were actually the owners and they were friendly and helpful throughout. We both had pasta based dishes along with a garlic and chilli bread and everything tasted unique and absolutely delicious, as did our deserts. While the Rest has no alcohol licence, you can bring your own (if required), on this occasion we had some homemade lemonade (again, recommended), so if you are in Wick, you must try the Printer’s Rest.

It's not Italian, but it's still the best pizza I've ever eaten. From the outside you wouldn't believe the store to be of this class. For every hungry visitor, THE address!

Centrally located and with accommodating hours of operation. The service was fast and superb. Generous portions. Our gelato treats were delicious.

We had a lovely dinner in this restaurant. The food was delicious and the staff incredibly kind. We feel welcomed and very well attended all the time. I tried the wee haggis for the first time ever and it was delicious. The mussels were really good too. Also the Geographer hamburger was one of the best burgers I have tried. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great little coffee shop with so many goodies to try. Lovely lady served us and chatted about the bakery. She made a couple of new friends who were more than happy to sample the sausages.
