Plus rooms are very clean and spacious. Towels are still very soft and fluffy. Negatives restaurant not open. Bar closed at 8 o’clock even the beer tasted off I’m guessing because they don’t sell much because the bar isn’t open very often. Sad used to be a really good place to stay, I won’t be coming back.

Just home from our stay at The Clubhouse, and would wholeheartedly recommend! Excellent accommodation with clean, huge rooms, perfect for families or just a couple looking for that extra bit or luxury. Food was delicious and atmosphere was great. Fantastic location, with the golf course and beach literally at the bottom of the street and quick 5 mins walk to the town centre.

Can’t recommend this hotel enough. Very well presented . Great hospitality, nothing was too much bother to the owners . Fantastic options of drinks and the meals and breakfast were cooked fresh and tasted amazing . The rooms are well decorated and very clean . Very comfy beds too. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a lovely friendly hotel to stay at or just have drinks and food . The hotel is only a short distance walk to the very popular Nairn beach . Great location . We will definitely be back.

Dreadful takeaway. We didn't actually visit, so can only comment on the food delivered. Hubby ordered fish, chips and mushy peas and I ordered a Burns burger with peppercorn sauce. Hubby's food was stone cold and minus the peas. My chips were cold, but the burger was warm. It was only about 3 mouthfuls in when I realised there was no sauce! Bread + haggis + solidifying cheese + burger = one of the driest things known to man. Both meals ended up in the bin

We went as a family a few weeks back about 1700 hours on a Saturday. It was busy ish but not packed. The menu is limited but having been told which items weren't available (there were a few), we managed to find something to eat. Generally we were happy enough with our food. The issue was how much time everything took. Having ordered drinks on arrival we waited 35 minutes before we got our drinks. Food came relatively quickly thereafter. Once we managed to wave someone down, we asked for ice cream for the kids. 45 minutes later......having tried to wave someone down and failed I went to the bar to ask what's happening. I was told someone would check. 10 minutes later the waiter came to us and told us the flavoured ice cream we ordered wasn't available!! That's 55 minutes wait to be told the order he took couldn't be provided!! We gave up on the ice cream and asked for the bill.....which then took 20 minutes. The food on the limited menu is fine if you are happy to give up an entire evening to wait for it.

We took my parents to this restaurant, while we were up visiting. It was the biggest mistake, but you live and learn. We asked what soup was on to be told there was no soup available, as one of the party would only have the soup, we didn’t order starters. We ordered our mains and waited and waited, while waiting the table beside us, who came in after us, ordered their meals. We watched their starters come out, low and behold one of them received soup. I shouted the waitress over and said we were told there was no soup, she said 5 minutes ago the 2nd chef wasn’t in. So I can only assume the 1st chef can’t hear soup up, because you certainly can’t make a pot in 5 minutes. Mains arrived, they were okay, I don’t suppose you can go wrong with frozen chips. We then ordered desserts, 4 sticky toffee puddings (there were only 3 choices), 5 minutes later the waitress comes through, we only have 1 portion of sticky toffee pudding left. It’s an absolute joke of a restaurant, we were in at 6.30, so one of the first tables of the evening. I hate to think how the rest got on. Just take my advice if you like decent food and avoid at all costs.

My wife and I entertained another couple of old friends at lunch time and were glad we chose the Clubhouse as our venue. For some reason that is a total mystery to us all! The food was of excellent quality, the service first class but the place did lack a little ambiance as our party were the only patrons this lunchtime. Freshly made soup, an excellent smoked haddock and poached egg were our first course. An excellent home made steak and ale pie, a baked haddock in a mornay sauce and a traditional fish and chips made up the main course and just to make wee piggies of ourselves we followed all this with a delightful stick toffee pudding and creme brulee desert. Phew! Fully replete we took our time over coffee, which wasn’t a problem with the staff and eventually end our very pleasant lunchtime experience with a slow journey home. But..... we’ll be back!

I ate here alone while in Nairn for business. The restaurant is well decorated in a very modern style, with the music a touch loud. I had Haggis Spring Rolls to start that were very tasty if a little unusual, and served on a Slate which is one of my pet hates. For main I had a sirloin steak with blue cheese sauce. The sauce was tasty, but I had ordered the steak rare and it arrived medium/well, so i sent it back. The new steak came and this time it was medium at best, just a touch of pink in the middle, no more. However at this point I couldn't wait for a third steak so I continued to eat it. The meat itself was of good quality, however was so over seasoned all i could really taste was crazy amounts of salt and pepper. With 2 glasses of very poor chardonnay, the bill came to just over £40. Staff were friendly if very slow. I had to wait 20mins between getting the bill and the credit card machine arriving. Attention has been paid getting the staff a uniform that is in keeping wth the style of the restaurant, however with shirts untucked and schoolboy knots pulled down the staff looked like they were truant schoolboys! (God that makes me sound like an old fart)The bar looked nice, but i didn't stop for a drink, and the hotel looks interesting.

The first thing you notice upon entering is the decor which includes an avocado and purple color scheme with disco ball and other mod accents. We ate early and were the only diners. The bar had some action, however.Although the wine list was limited, the selection of specialty cocktails was fun and we each tried something different. The menu had a good selection of options. Since we were with a group with divergent palettes, it was very helpful that there was something for everyone.I don't know whether they were playing 70s music because it was our era or whether that was what the proprietor felt like playing. We loved it and were singing along, taking advantage of the fact that we were the only diners there.I am glad someone recommended the restaurant to us. We would not have found it otherwise. Apologies to The Classroom restaurant as I originally published this under the wrong name.My wife and I ate here on Sunday evening. The starters were Ok, ham terrine and a salmon dish with lettuce and grapefruit. Our mains were not great particularly the tender leg of lamb.It was as tough as John Wayne's saddle and accompanied by the hardest carrot I have ever had on my plate and 3 roast potatoes that seemed to have been cooked hours before and reheated. We complained and the lamb dish was removed from our bill.On the way out I spoke to the manager at the door and it was clear he had never attended charm school. there was no apology and he tried to justify that our dish must have been Ok as they has 36 covers at lunchtime and no complaints.Transpires the lamb which was on the special board was a left over from the Sunday roast.Shocking lack of concern from the manager, would not eat here again.u

Modern and stylish this is a nicely set up restaurant/ bar. The menu might seem limited for some but all of my favourites dy there so I was delighted. Be aware that portion sizes here are in the Highland tradition. BIG. I must admit the speed of service could age been an issue but a well stocked and sensibly priced bar took care of it. We noticed couples and larger family groups too so all in all a good place to eat.

Return trip here with family. Good food, good service. TV a bit distracting for eating in bar area especially as sport channel on. When they have the venison on menus it is worth having. Sweets as usual tasty. Reasonably priced.

Have eaten there often food and menu good, especially Sunday lunch at a very reasonable price. Nice surroundings in both the bar and restaurant. Ample parking.

It's a very nice restaurant with excellent choice of food the only complaint I have is that the staff could not cope with having us(15)and another 2 groups of about 5/6 in at the one time but in all fairness the management were at fault there as they did not have near enough staff on we have been before(just 4 of us)and could not have faulted them on that occasion but will go back

Staying in Nairn for the weekend we walked along to the Clubhouse. Nice atmosphere, obviously popular with locals, friendly and helpful staff, good menu and quirky, but very nice decor in the bar area

After booking a Festive Lunch at another Hotel down the road, and then finding we should have pre-ordered first, (no mention when booking), our group of 3 was so disappointed we upped and left. Thankfully, we stopped in here on the way past to see if we could get a Festive Lunch even though we hadn't booked. Not only did they accommodate us with cheerfulness, and very nice Christmas Sweaters, but the meal was absolutely fabulous. The soup was the best ever and it was a first for me of tasting Hake and Samphire. I have eaten here before and the food was great then but this was really first class service and excellent food. Thanks to you all for salvaging what looked like being a disappointing day.

Just returned from dinner at The Clubhouse. Food was nice, but service VERY poor. Had to go up to the bar & ask them to take orders for a drink. When young guy came over, seemed a bit annoyed that he had to do this task! (The manager was away at this point - maybe through at the function) We weren't even offered the dessert menu, which we would've liked to have sampled! & to end the night, we asked for the bill, only to be charged for more drinks than we actually had!The lack of attentive service certainly wasn't due to lack of staff, as we counted FOUR of them standing at the bar watching the football on the TV. Come on Clubhouse, when your paying £80+ on a meal, you certainly want to feel as though your business is appreciated. As a frequent visitor to this area, this certainly wasn't how we felt on leaving this establishment & not sure we would return either.

Had a wonderful experience staying at the Clubhouse this past week. Rooms were comfortable and cozy. Loved the decor, a very modern pink tartan! The food was very good too. The most outstanding part of my stay had to be Sarah Roche, the head waitress I met every morning at breakfast. A true gem, lovely warm person with a beautiful smile and a big heart. Congrats Clubhouse, your staff are top notch.

The food was a bit disappointing - not well presented and of average quality. Have had better meals in Nairn for a similar cost.

We booked late so they could only give us a table in the bar which was lively, well supported by locals and great fun. Good choice on menu and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Wonderful modern decor. Menu could perhaps offer more starters/light meals. Service excellent. Outdoor space good too.

Four of us went into the Clubhouse bar for a meal. It was Nairn Games Day and it was a bit busy. However it did not get off to a good start with rude and abrupt bar staff and waiters that seemed to think they were doing you a favour by clearing a table- with a none too clean cloth.Ordered fish and chips from the Games Day menu (?) and was very disappointing. Batter instead of being crispy was limp and soggy and the hand cooked chips were hard and old cooking oil taste. Menu was pricey for bar meals. This was place originally called the Claymore and had a bit of character. Not now. New decor is tacky and lacking in style. Disappointed. Will not be back.

Got a late booking on a Saturday and we ended up at a table in the bar area. The TV was on, the music was loud and it was really noisy. We were beastly able to hear each other when we tried to talk.We got our food after a while, but within reasonable time taking into consideration it was a busy Saturday. The food was good, but small portions. If you want to eat here, I recommend to book in advance so you don't have to be sided in the bar.

Having recently moved to Nairn we had been looking forward to trying out all the local eateries and The Clubhouse was near the top of the list. Having made our orders we were told that there wasn't enough pizza dough left to make the 2 pizzas, therefore the waitress asked if my husband wanted to pick something else, then stood over him while he tried to pick a second best. Confusion started when we asked for a bowl of olives and a tapas bowl of salad....with olives in it came ! Main courses came and the pizza base tasted like bread, not pizza dough and was really disappointing. The homemade burger was dry and I was expecting the chips to be cooked three times.....the soggy texture failed to hint at them being cooked even twice. The fish courses were fine but our "night out" had soured over the main course and there was no appetite for desert.

Would highly recommend a visit to this hotel. Room was beautiful and clean, staff were friendly, food and drink was great. I would recommend booking a table for dinner if eating here as it can get a bit busy.

Very unpleasant stay. It is understandable to treat the customer poorly since there are only two restaurants in the town and that the tourists would not return anyway. However, how little care was given to the customer as a house of hospitality. For every dish, our plates were taken away before we have finished. We were rushed to make decisions and to pay the seconds the plates were taken away. 5min after we paid the bill we were asked to leave and stay in the lobby. The food is reasonable and the restaurant would be well suited for ones who had a tight schedule and need to dash straight after the meal.

Really good place, with very nice food - and they are good with food allergies. They have separate menus for gluten free and vegan. Another bonus - they are dog friendly.

Great little coffee shop with so many goodies to try. Lovely lady served us and chatted about the bakery. She made a couple of new friends who were more than happy to sample the sausages.

We had a lovely dinner in this restaurant. The food was delicious and the staff incredibly kind. We feel welcomed and very well attended all the time. I tried the wee haggis for the first time ever and it was delicious. The mussels were really good too. Also the Geographer hamburger was one of the best burgers I have tried. I highly recommend this restaurant.
