Always really well looked after even though we only get a takeaway! Really must get an eat in!

Excellent, fresh prepared food with great choices to suit all taste. Always consistent - the takeaway is as good as sit in with quick local delivery. Very friendly and efficient service from lovely staff. Good value with generous portions. One of our favourite places in Thurso - never disappointed.

Called to order takeaway and confirmed that they delivered to remote (but close 3 miles from restaurant) glamping site which they confirmed they did. Then received call from driver asking directions! We were on holiday and could not easily describe how to get to us. It took 45 minutes longer to get the food. Restaurant should ensure drivers know where they are going! Apart from that food excellent but poor delivery knocks off overall service.

Reliable service and fantastic food with a range of options for everyone. Pride of Bengal is our go to takeaway due to the amazing quality of food and service. Vegetarian and vegan options are always available and dishes can be adapted based on what you want; very accommodating and happy to advise on dishes and ingredients.

We had a lovely meal here last night and the service was excellent. The restaurant had a homely feel to it, not decorated in a fancy way as most Indian restaurants seem to do but rather as if we were eating in a family run dining room. The food was exactly as described and there was plenty of it. The chef brought us some snacks as we didn’t want starters and that was a lovely touch. We are visiting the area but will definitely try to fit in another visit before we leave.

This is the third time in the last couple of weeks I've eaten from here, Their food is absolutely delicious, Probably the best Chicken Tikka Madras I've ever eaten, The staff are amazing too!! Can't recommend the Pride of Bengal enough, an absolute jewel in Thurso's Crown

Great evening with friends - traveled to “world’s end” and along the trip we meet up here! The food was brilliant, and so was the service. If we ever get back here, surely we will go again.

Really nice meal, cocktail wasn't that great so I'd maybe plump for a beer/wine if I go back. Service was a tad slow but they were really busy and tried there hardest, an extra member of staff probably was needed for the weekend rush.

Small cosy restaurant and takeaway, staff are attentive and helpful, the food is delicious and the menu extensive, we loved it.

Only booked this at the last minute due to the chef at our hotel having an emergency at home. The food was absolutely delicious and lots of it too. The staff were really friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Highly recommended if you're in Thurso.

Delicious and authentic curries. After a while I’ve come across really good food that’s not greasy. I would recommend the Pride of Bengal if you’re looking for delicious and wholesome meal.

Best Indian in Thurso....great food.

Highly recommended for very tasty Indian food. Everything we tried was excellent and the staff were very nice. A very pleasant surprise in this quite bland town.

They were very accommodating to me bringing my assistant dog inside they even tried really hard to find something to allow her to have a drink with even tho they aren't dog friendly . The waitress was really kind and mindful that my assistant dog was out in the open asleep. The food was wonderful aswell couldn't of asked for anything else

Lovely staff and some great poppadoms but the garlic chilli chicken was lacking in taste.

Been here several times and it never disappoints- was up for the fishing and went twice in 4 days having my usual chicken Pathia Madras hot - ausome with a great kick . Be back there in 3 weeks Cannae wait 😊😊 The manager Hassan is so helpful and as is his staff especially Tina 😊

Note: despite what Google says, this place does not stay open until 22.00. Today I arrived at 21.30 and was told “the kitchen is shut”. When I asked where in Thurso was still open for Indian food, I was directed to a nearby place that shut about 2 hours before this one. Come on, it’s July, surely you can at l least stay open to the times Google says you stay open?

Nothing special about this Indian but what was served up was adequate for my taste and as one says filled a hole. It was quite busy so I think it’s popular worth the locals.

They were so gracious and squeezed us in for a late dinner, and the food was delicious.

This popular place is good for eat in or take away. The place smelled wonderful. Had a take away and it was ready for pick up when they stated. Food was fabulous. Well worth enjoying with a drink or two.

We were on the NC500 and we had an evening in Thurso. Needed something to eat and found The Pride of Begal. Quiet unassuming place. Food was excellent and the service was very good,nothing was a problem.

As far as food goes, I can’t recommend it. But as far as service goes, the woman working there is a delight and super efficient.

Found myself in Thurso for work and came across this place a short walk away from our accommodation. Through my own ignorance as much as anything, I wasn't really sure what standards to expect from an Indian restaurant in the furthest reaches of the country, but we found some excellent food, full of flavour and good portions. Also very reasonably priced. Ended up going on two consecutive nights so I can't really give higher praise than that. The chap who hosted us, who I assume to be the proprietor, was very attentive and made us feel very welcome. Recommended highly.

An unassuming looking restaurant, but wonderful food and attentive service. Highly recommend it, we will be back.

Very fast and friendly takeaway service however my friend and I ordered butter chicken and chicken tikka which both were bland, the chicken tasted like precooked chicken. We could taste the chicken more than the sauce. The butter chicken tasted like a soup. Veg pakora was bland, didn’t taste like it had any spices. Pakora sauce tasted like a buttery cream with no spice. Spiced onions weren’t spicey. Garlic bread had no evidence of butter or garlic on it and was thick and chewey. The pilau rice was tasteless.

Nice friendly atmosphere. Attentative polite staff. We had starters very good. We had three different curries and they were all of a very good standard and well cooked. Everyone in our party enjoyed the food and we had a good evening. We had a little bit of a wait between courses but the food was cooked from fresh and a cooked perfectly. Definitely worth a return visit.

We had a really good meal at this restaurant. Friendly service an good honest food. Coming from Australia was especially satisfying to have a proper Indian food meal. Very tasty. Generous portions and very reasonably priced. Well worth a visit

Didn't call in advance, ordered at the counter and waited. Very quick short wait for my takeaway, the staff taking orders were very helpful, polite and generally great. Food was still nice and toasty hot by the time i got home despite being a 12 mile drive, the food was cooked beautifully, very fresh, very flavoursome, just brilliant, just what i needed for a friday night 👍

Had a pleasant quick Indian meal after getting off the ferry. Lamb Rogan Josh more tomato and less flavour and spice than I would expect but ok. Yellow lentil curry was excellent. Garlic naan was good. Several tables filled even on a Monday night. Pleasant waiter.

Recommended as “the best curry house” by our hotel receptionist. And she wasn’t wrong. Excellent and varied selection of Bengali and more mainstream Indian dishes. Breads in particular were delicious. Will be a firm favourite when travelling the north coast again.

Really good food and very nice staff

We went twice on a long weekend trip to Thurso. The curry I had was the best I had in a long while…….. fresh, light and not oily. Served with fluffy pilau rice. Service great. Waiter suggested a perfect curry for my taste. Would certainly go back on my next visit to Thurso.

I have now been to this restaurant some 6 times since May 2023. Each time the service has been excellent and the food likewise. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the staff are very welcoming. My curry tastes are in the mild to medium hot range. From the Chicken Passanda and Massala to the Chilli Garlic Palak, the latter being on my 'top limit' for hotness with a fantastic flavour. Highly recommended. I will be back! (again!).

Food was ok but coming from Glasgow I've had a better Curry experience also I thought the price was rather on the expensive side £64 for 3 main meals and 2 draft coke's plus a small glass of wine .

Been to some of the best Indian restaurants in Glasgow, and this has to be up there with the best of them. Decor is a bit bland but the food and service are excellent!

Being an Indian this is the best Indian Restaurant in Thurso. I have been in this restaurant many times now. It’s strange that they serve Biryani’s spice range by 1 - 10. 1 super mild and 10 super hot. I tried number 8 and it was fiery kick along with natural Biryani taste. Loved it. And the service is the best you can get.

We popped in whilst staying locally for work. We had the mushroom & Aubergine Pakora for starters, lamb bhuna, Vegetable Tiger Khan, rice and peshwari Naan. Food tasted lovely and the Tiger Khan was a nice change from what I normally tend to go for. Orange, cashew and garam masala. Good selection of vegetarian dishes at various spice levels. The naan was lovely and fresh. Would definitely visit if we work in the area again. Thanks 👍🏼

Not a local so one and only experience. Well and truly pleased with it. The restaurant itself isnt much to talk about could possibly do with a update. Service was top notch and cant fault it at all. Now the most important part....the food! Myself and my partner are well and truly impressed without a doubt the BEST Indian style food from a sit in indian restaurant we have had.

Pizza was a bit of a wait. And was abit so so, and small for a 10" But the waitress' we really nice.

On our first night in Thurso we all went to this great restaurant. I like a pretty hot curry and as I have eaten here several times in the past I had my favourite dish being a chicken pathia madras hot. Well it was brilliant as usual lovely and hot with plenty flavour . We were up for the fishing and on our last day we all went back and I had to have the same dish and again it was delicious 😊 My local Indian restaurant The Radhouna has just won the best Indian restaurant award 2023 and I have to say the Pride of Bengal food is equally as good and would give the Radhouna a run for their money. The manager / owner Hassan is so friendly and makes the evening enjoyable. 😊 will be back mid August 😊

We visited the restaurant on 28 May at about 18.00. We did not have a booking but were accommodated. I ordered prawn curry, pilau rice and a Corona. My husband had the chicken tikka, which was served on a sizzling plate. We shared the rice....

Delicious food, great service, the hard chairs and basic tables let the experience down slightly.

We have an infant in a pram and we’re made to few very welcome. We enjoyed starters and mains with sides and really enjoyed everything. Will be going back again next time we are in the area.
