We did not sit in but got a take away. The worst Indian food we've had in a long time. Curry was watery and tasteless. Nans were doughy, and toppings were not good we had cheese and garlic. Not a lot of rice in tub. Very dissapointed. We were going to come to restaurant if it was good but have been totally put off.

Started with fabulous mocktails! Food was excellent. My pakoras were best I’ve tasted and main courses were delicious. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Only negative was that we felt a bit rushed between courses and a member of staff started clearing our table while one of our party was still eating which wasn’t great. Apart from this we would highly recommend The Mangrove and will definitely return on our next visit to Inverness.

Service wonderful and friendly, could not have been more helpful. Great seats in the window watching the world go by. The food was fantastic - I had the palak paneer and it was so tasty and fresh - no green slurry! The portion sizes were also wonderful - was pleasantly full at the end. Thanks so much for a lovely experience. I’ll be thinking about it until the next visit!

Sub standard curry with terrible delivery service. After the curry arrived, 40mins later than advertised (deliveroo) , we were greeted with what can only be decribed as dire! The chicken pakora reminded me of those rubber duck toys that dogs play with! I'm sure they tasted better too! The pakora was cold, bland and clearly not fresh. Epic fail. My girlfriend's prawn curry was watery, tasteless and she got the grand total of........wait for it......3 PRAWNS to satisfy her! No words! Disgrace! Epic fail No 2. My jalfresi curry was the only saving grace and I am being very, VERY generous here! As you can guess I will not be recommending this curry house and I suggest you steer well clear, at all costs. #another£40downthedrain.

Ordered a takeaway online (2 x King Pawn Garlic Chilli Curries) and collected within the timeframe as instructed. Upon returning home (some 5-10 minutes max), the food was not only cold but there was little flavour/taste to the dishes, no seasoning whatsoever and certainly no heat as in spice throughout the dish...merely a couple of birds eye chillies. All in all, an experience to forget and one I will not be repeating. Albeit a much longer drive for collection, will revert to previous Indian for all future takeaways. Would NOT recommend Mangrove for its food on basis of this experience.

For valentines night... we heard good place & thought we would give this restaurant a try as we are curry lovers. We booked table for 8.300m set meal £40 per head. Food was cold on arrival. Curry was awful. They had ran out of 2 - 3 of the items we had chosen earlier on set meal. Very poor wasn't impressed at all. Ladies toilets absolutely disgusting..one toilet was covered in feaces. We were charged £84..should have our money back very poor

After numerous recommendations and looking at some of the reviews online we decided to try Mangrove for a takeaway. Unfortunately we were really disappointed with the quality of food. We tried three different curries and although not the worst, we found them all to be really watery and bland, as well as mostly consisting of onion for all dishes. At £55 for three people without any drinks, it was also more expensive than most other takeaways in the area.

We had a lovely experience at Mangrove in Inverness as a family of four adults and two kids. The drinks were fantastic—definitely the highlight of the evening—and the food was quite good too, especially the veg jalfrezi, which was packed with flavor. The owner was incredibly warm and welcoming, stopping by our table multiple times to check on us, which added a nice personal touch to the evening. The only minor drawback was that the service could have been a bit faster, but overall, it didn’t take away from our enjoyable experience. We’d definitely recommend Mangrove for its great atmosphere, delicious drinks, and friendly hospitality!

The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice, lots of plants and incredible decor, really feels unique, the service was incredible, very quick and efficient, it didn't take long for them to bring out the food and on that, the food was incredible, poppadoms were crispy but not too hard, naan was tasty and complimented the curry, the rice was cooked well and the curries were all very delicious, creamy and packed full of flavour, although they weren't as spicy as we would've liked however I'm sure they would be more than happy to add some more spice if you asked, food was reasonably priced. overall, an incredible restaurant and definitely worth a visit if you're in the mood for some curry.

I visited for the first time for a birthday in November. From the moment we sat down, we were rushed and the staff were rude. The waiter came over 4 times in our first 5 minutes to ask if we were ready to order. We ordered the platter for 2 and requested to upgrade the naans to garlic rather than plain and were told no. We were more than happy to pay extra for this which we emphasised but they said the chefs do not like when people request changes so it's either plain naan or no naan. We removed the naan from the platter and ordered them separately in order to have the food we wanted. As soon as we finished our meal, the dessert menu was thrown in front of us, we were immediately asked if we were going to order anything from it and then the bill was put down. We paid the bill and started putting our coats on and the owner asked us if we were going to order anything else AGAIN, even though it was clear we had paid and were leaving. A large booking came in halfway through and the people seemed to be friends of the owner so I got the impression nobody else was important to them that night. The food was fine, but due to the terrible treatment of their customers and their inability to accommodate simple requests (especially for a special occasion which was exceedingly disappointing), I will not be returning and would certainly not recommend.

A disappointment. I had chicken tikka starter, which was tasty enough though small. The lamb palak was very disappointing indeed- lukewarm, watery, with very poor meat which had a lot of gristle. Pretty tasteless and insipid. My wife had the biryani which she did enjoy, and the garlic naan was good. This was a return visit from a previous disappointment to see if it was just a one off and was better- this was far worse. Won’t be back.

Very little choice if you want an Indian in Inverness, so we ended up here by default. Nice and friendly welcome, but portions are very small and if I'm honest, the food didn't taste that great. I've had much better elsewhere. The night we were there, there was an awful woman singing in the background. It was bad and far too loud. I hope for their sake this isn't a regular thing because they will only lose business. Didn't enjoy the night really, and was happy to leave.

Visited late November on a Friday night. Amazing atmosphere, I've never been in an Indian restaurant with such a bouncing and boisterous atmosphere, but it really suited the mood. We had pre-booked and were seated within seconds of arriving. The service was truly excellent, super attentive staff and the owner even came and spoke to us a couple of times. The absolute highlight was the food though – without doubt the best Indian food I have had in the UK. We went for a selection of items: Popadoms and dips to begin with, then king prawn chilli garlic, the Mangrove Thali and the Tandoori Mixed Platter. We also got some extra rice, a peshwari nan and some chips. For the 3 of us this was almost too much food, but it was so delicious we scoffed the lot. We took our own alcohol and paid a very affordable £2 per person corkage. Overall the meal worked out at less than £30 per head and I consider that great value for the quality and taste of the food etc. We will definitely return.

Sorry, but I had to mark it down because of the dreadfully loud singing that started up as we were eating. We couldn't hear ourselves think and it ruined any chance of conversation. Maybe it wouldn't have been quite so bad if she'd been able to sing in tune, I don't know, but is this kind of thing really needed in an Indian restaurant? The food was okay, but nothing special if I'm completely honest. The portions were far too small and not worth the price. The fried rice arrived in a tiny bowl that, if it was me, I would have been embarrassed to serve to anyone. The staff were very nice and welcoming, and very attentive - a huge plus - but that girl singer (and I use the word lightly - she was awful and off key) just has to go. She cannot be good for business, surely. Our dinner experience was ruined, unfortunately.

Undoubtedly, Mangrove is the best Indian restaurant in Inverness. It is located in central Inverness and is about 3 minutes walk from the Inverness train station. The quality of food is outstanding—it has an authentic Indian taste. Moreover, there is a good variety of food items, which are clearly displayed on the menu card. I was very impressed with the staff; Nisha and her colleagues paid attention to my preferences for the food. The Mangrove team ensures a quick service (even on a busy Friday evening) and customises/suggests the food as per requirements of their guests. The ambience is great, allowing one to relax at the end of the day. I'd particularly recommend garlic naan, chicken tikka jalfreze, chicken tikka naga, bombay aloo, and poppadoms. Highly recommend, especially if someone wants to relax and enjoy Indian food in Inverness after a day's hectic work/sightseeing.

Chicken Tikka Masala was okay but didn't really taste authentic. It was missing some spices. Was more like a simple tomato sauce. Chicken Korma was really bad. Haven't eaten anything that bad in a long time. The sauce was just sweet and grainy coconut milk without any spices. The meat was also lacking spices. So it was just coconut pudding with plain chicken. The naan Bread was also not good. Didn't taste like naan at all. Service was also mixed. The female servers were mostly friendly, but the male server (maybe the owner?) was just unfriendly and left us with the feeling of not being welcome at all. We observed that he was friendly to people who seemed to be locals but very unfriendly to tourists like us. I can't recommend this place.
