Mangrove in Highland

Without a doubt, the food here is excellent and has an authentic Indian taste. The chicken tikka, naans, and daal makhni are must-tries. I was very impressed with the staff, who recommended dishes based on our preferences. Special thanks to Nisha for her wonderful suggestions. Highly recommend!

As a first time visitor to Inverness. I came upon the Mangrove because it looked welcoming and inviting. The staff were so very welcoming and the food was simply delicious! So much so that after 8 days on the Isle of Skye and Glencoe and my night before heading home to the south coast of England. Where did I want to eat? Here. I was shocked that the owner and staff remembered me. Such great Customer Service alongside great food! Highly recommended.

The food and ambience are really great with a bunch of lovely host and kind supervisor . It's a happening vibe place where the host were welcoming where other restaurants required reservations, but they were most welcoming to accommodate new guests, though they were on a busy night. Gave a classical feel and touch to the restaurant and certainly my best place of choice for the restaurant in Inverness. The food we ordered also was very good , tatsed well and they customised as per our choice

WOW!!! Got the Mangrove for 2 and it did not disappoint. Every dish was amazing.

We were glad to find an Indian restaurant that looked promising however our experience was disappointing. We were waiting for over 40 minutes for our food to arrive and when it did, it did not look appetising. The “biryani” tasted more like fried rice with a raw onion taste. It was bland and unauthentic. If you’re looking for authentic flavours, might be better to avoid this place!

Came in peckish, lift with empty plates and finger licking desserts.

Food had good flavor, naan was a little dry, and we wished that rice came with the classic dishes. The mango colada and blue lagoon were really good.

Wow, what a find in the middle of Inverness! If you’re looking for good Indian food and wonderfully warm, hospitable service, look no further. Had a wonderful dinner here during our weekend visit to Inverness and the Highlands. Everyone was so nice and attentive, despite it being a busy Friday night! We were seated right away with no reservation. Everyone we had the pleasure of interacting with was generous with their warmth and smiles, we even spoke with the owner, who was very present throughout the restaurant all evening! Highly highly recommend! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

We had a lovely meal at Mangrove, one of the best curry’s I’ve had! Onion baji’s for starters were delicious, and both our mains were fantastic. Highly recommend.

Chicken Tikka Masala was okay but didn't really taste authentic. It was missing some spices. Was more like a simple tomato sauce. Chicken Korma was really bad. Haven't eaten anything that bad in a long time. The sauce was just sweet and grainy coconut milk without any spices. The meat was also lacking spices. So it was just coconut pudding with plain chicken. The naan Bread was also not good. Didn't taste like naan at all. Service was also mixed. The female servers were mostly friendly, but the male server (maybe the owner?) was just unfriendly and left us with the feeling of not being welcome at all. We observed that he was friendly to people who seemed to be locals but very unfriendly to tourists like us. I can't recommend this place.

Food OK/not great, service good but very slow as they were busy. Restaurant very cold, I noticed other diners in coats. Staff not allowed to put a tip on my credit card .. no cash, so no tip...management really should allow tips on cards.

I waited over 1hr and 15 minutes for my order. I contacted the restaurant after waiting an hour and they told me that the order had been ready for delivery for 30 minutes but no driver had turned up yet. By the time my order was delivered the food was cold.

Last minute dinner in Inverness. Wish we hadn’t spent it here. They lost our order and the food just didn’t taste like my beloved curry. Also, very small portion sizes. Not a lot of choice in Inverness but there has to be better than this.

It was Saturday night & full of crowds. Waiting time was about 45mins to get a seat. Anyways atmosphere was really nice with amazing service. Ordered Vegetable Bhaji and it was so so. Chapati as it was mentioned by staff machine made though tried and not good. Naan also ok. Recommend dishes : Garlic Naan

Starters garlic mushrooms far too salty/onion bhaji rock hard. Main course chicken Tikka masala full of red food dye/fish curry very oily. We spoke to the manager who was very unhelpful and we were asked to leave for complaining

This is the second time I have ordered a delivery meal from Mangrove. Both meals were excellent and this will be my "go to" Indian restaurant for delivery meals from now on.

Amazing experience..where everything from start to end is satisfying.. and food is yummy... You might have to be patient if you come without reservation.. but you would be treated nicely and staff would set your expectation right away...

The manager of the restaurant did not show any hospitality towards us despite being aware that we had just arrived in Inverness and therefore had no choice about timing of our arrival the restaurant. We were only 5 minutes later than their closing time but they were only prepared to give us a takeaway which we would have to eat in our hotel room. The manager was very rude and so we left and found another a very nice and hospitable restaurant. I don’t think we would go back to Mangrove again during stay here in Inverness

Certainly one of the best tasting curries I’ve had in a long time - this restaurant has a great feel about it and the food was impeccable. Value for money was excellent for a centre-of-town curry house. There were issues along the way with wait times etc but the staff were amazing and kept us updated, and sorted it all out at the bill too. Cannot fault the experience, definitely would recommend a visit.

Stopped here for dinner with family , the restaurant was brimming with people enjoying their food. They have a vast menu to offer but we settled for main course which included tarka daal, aloo dum and veg jhal farezi with breads and veg pulao. Food tasted fresh and satisfied my craving for somethinf indian! We were greeted very well and the hospitality was commendable! Do Try Mangeove out if you're in Inverness! Good food good vibe

Amazing food, very clean, staff are very polite. They didnt have a certain curry that i wanted on the menu but they went out of their way to cook it for me. Will defiantly be coming here again when i visit the area again.

Absolutely delicious! The paneer masala was so good, and their drinks, which we ordered without alcohol as it's BYOB, were the best mocktails we've ever had. Highly recommend the lychee mojito or raspberry-licious.

Absolutely excellent. Generous portions, LOVED the mocktails (especially the virgin colada), 10/10 there. The Mangrove sharing platter is bordering on enough for 3 adults...or two on a mission in our case. 😀 Delicious chicken Tikka, the best I've ever had. Tasty naan, succulent king prawn dishes.

Ordered from Mangrove,food was lovely but unfortunately in delivery both our meals leaked and spilt all over the bag and other food which was unfortunate.Cant fault the quality of food but the delivery mess has let it down.

first delivering time 5.25-5.45 delivery arrived 7.20 ,usually one of my favourite dishes but this was disappointing and half order needed to be re heated .

Seems like an Indian place catering to Scottish/ British tastes . Most of the patrons seemed non Indian and so did the flavors. We had the mangrove thali which was average and the chicken chaat was terrible

We are creatures of habit… and always look for a naga curry.. and have eaten them in every corner of Scotland and we have had some crackers! But had one in the mangrove 2 nights ago and it was the best we have ever had. But didn’t write a review incase it was a one hit wonder! But had another one tonight that was exactly the same! So no fluke.. this place is setting the bar! Will be back again very soon

While the food did not disappoint, our overall experience was marred by an unfortunate incident with one of the staff members. Upon entering the restaurant, we found it nearly empty except for a family seated in a corner. We chose a table and settled in, excited for our meal. However, a man in a black suit approached us and asked us to change our seats, despite the ample seating available. This was perplexing and uncomfortable, but we complied without fuss. Adding to our discomfort, he then informed us that the restaurant does not sell alcohol. This comment was unsolicited and presumptive, as we had not inquired about alcohol or shown any interest in ordering it. It seemed unnecessary and out of place, leaving us feeling unwelcome. Contrastingly, the other staff members were lovely and attentive, and the food was truly delightful. We were thrilled with the flavors and authenticity of the dishes, which provided a much-needed break from our fast-food routine. What struck us further was the difference in treatment. We observed the man in the black suit greeting and interacting warmly with the other family in the restaurant. This disparity in service was disheartening and left us feeling singled out and disrespected. In summary, while Mangroove offers excellent Indian cuisine and most of the staff were kind and professional, our experience was significantly impacted by the behavior of one staff member. Worst ever indian restaurant.. they server you pre cooked meals. Horrible experience. And crew is utterly rude and snotty. Definable AVOID..

The owner speaks very harshly to his staff, it is hard to watch. We left without ordering food because I watched him treat his bartender horribly.

Food was ok Chicken tikka was Spicy. We were a party of 10 and two meals came out later than everyone else's. We asked 3 times for one of the meals. We even pre ordered the meals. The bill we checked it and it wasn't right we were charged twice for a meal and charged for corkage for 4 people who weren't drinking alcohol. decor is lovely tho and a lovely place for a meal. I will give it another go as this was our 1st time.
