We had reserved a table for 16:15 on a Tuesday. On arrival we weren’t exactly made welcome even after explaining we had booked a table. Reluctantly were lead to a table and informed it was needed at 6 for a party. We barely had time settle in our seats and the waiter returned wanting our drinks order. He then rudely stood over me when looking at the wine list. I was told they might not have my choice of bottle so would give us something else. Within seconds returned saying they did have the wine requested, and did we still want it? We both felt the were not welcomed, under pressure order quickly and get out, there was a lack of atmosphere. We left without eating and went elsewhere. When returning to our hotel we passed the restaurant which was empty. I wonder what happened to the other bookings.

This was the worst Indian food I've ever eaten anywhere in the world. It was so unbelievably bad. We were tired from our drive from Edinburgh and decided to order from Uber Eats. Cinnamon had a quick delivery time so we chose it. What a mistake. We ordered 2 different curries and they were prepared exactly the same way. Chunks of meat 3 inches deep in a pool of jarred tomato sauce. The naan tasted like it was made of pizza dough. The Raita was bland and the mint sauce was yellow. I had to eat a bunch of chocolate after to get the taste out of my mouth. If we were not so hungry we would have thrown it away. I recommend going elsewhere.

I cant say that i was expecting this level of food in a restaurant like this. All the curries tasted the same and the bread was half done. We had to send it back. The service was poor and we had to wait a long time to get the order even though the place was empty. We were a party of 5 including two kids and the food was not worth the $$ Please dont spend money at this place if you ever crave indian food.

Food was the only half decent thing about this restaurant. Even then, i paid £4.95 for a naan bread which wasn't the best. The curries were nice. I have visited a few years ago and it has only gone downhill from there. Used to be really good. I don’t often write bad reviews unless i feel the need to. Restaurant itself was dirty, table and chairs were old and ripped and the service was pushy. They also started to hoover when we sat down which was loud and very off putting. I was sitting with my partner, had just finished my plate, and the waiter came over and said, “thats you finished”, when i wasn’t finished and was about to get another plate, and handed my bill down straight away. Overall i don't recommend you go here. It’s ok if you are on your own and want a feast. The rajah in the town centre has a great selection of curries and is definitely the place to visit, if you want indian.

To all my friends and families, please beware. Yesterday, my wife, our 14-month-old baby, and I visited Cinnamon Restaurant in Inverness for Christmas dinner, expecting a festive and welcoming atmosphere. However, we were met with an inflexible and disappointing policy. While we understood there was a £37 Christmas package, my wife was the only one wishing to eat as I wasn't hungry. Despite our situation, the staff insisted that we must order for two people if we wanted to dine in. This lack of understanding and accommodation dampened our holiday spirit and made our experience far from merry. It's disheartening when a family outing turns into a frustrating ordeal due to rigid rules that don't consider the customer's needs.

Food was amazing. Service was diabolical, by one man and one man only. Our waiter was very abrupt, took our food order and walked away before we had the chance to order drinks. He slammed the dishes down on our table as if we were an inconvenience. He eventually asked us if our meal was okay, I asked if I could order another bottle of kingfisher, he nodded, walked away and immediately started taking orders from other tables. 20 mins later I still hadn't received my bottle of beer, we flagged down a waitress who fetched me the beer immediately. Food was amazing, every other member of staff was very friendly, just unfortunately our waiter wasn't so friendly, he's clearly in the wrong job as his customer service is appalling. Unfortunately I won't be back anytime soon, which is a shame, because the food is brilliant but one arrogant waiter has let the place down.

Definitely not my food. Thank you for this experience. Restaurant situated in front of big market Morrison. It is a not small place. In place all time play indian music. A little bit loud. Some of sound pieces were very nice. I ordered main meal paneer in something not spicy (all food in this place spicy or medium spicy) served with naan bread, pilau saffron rice, fried rice with eggs and green peas, lemon green tea. The main thing is that I came here to try pilau saffron rice. I was wondering how it tastes when prepared by experts. And i must say, nothing special. Will try made it is in home, hope it is will be more tasty. Next i try fried rice with eggs and green peas. It is were a little bit spicy but tasty. I would really like to learn how to cook fried rice and egg together, like they do in places like here. Main meal completely wasn't tasty for me. Paneer was ok, but in sauce or what it is was, were too much fat ( oil or butter, i do not know). So in this place taste for me were just cup of green lemon tea.

Last Saturday evening my husband and i arrived looking forward to a nice meal at Cinnamon. We had been many times previously but what on earth has happened to this place? My choice was a chicken tikka masala which appeared after a long wait (restaurant not busy at 6pm) to look very un appetising. It resembled a tin of watery tomato soup with 7 pieces of overcooked chicken. Where was the lovely thick creamy sauce. The chicken was so dry and tough. I should have returned the meal as it was poor in quality and looks. Sure anyone serving that would have know it looked awful. My husband had a Buna which he enjoyed but the quantity was not the same as usual. We wont be returning nor recommending this restaurant to anyone else.

This is hands-down the best Indian restaurant in Inverness. I’ve been coming here since I first moved to Inverness over five years ago. I’ve tried most of the menu but tonight I had the Mirchi Korma, mushroom rice, garlic nann, some popadoms and a few bottles of cobra. The service is excellent, they’re respectful, friendly and attentive. The food is on par with the (now shut) Spice Garden in Glasgow, if not better. It’s got a great atmosphere, even on a quiet night. I received a hot lemon towel when I was finished, the table next to me was cleaned immediately after the customers had left the premises, the staff say thankyou after every interaction and yer beer comes with an ice cauld glass. The food was phenomenal but, as a chef myself, its all the other things that allow the food to really speak. All round amazing experience, you will not regret spending your money here. If you’re not from the area this place is an absolute must.

What's happened to our favourite restaurant? Friday treat with friends... plates were cold, rice and side dishes along with main dishes were cold, although they arrived in 'cast iron' dishes they too were lukewarm....finished off with a nice coffee... not what we're used to... lukewarm too.. We were tired and hungry... so when asked if we enjoyed our meal, the silence said it all.. not looking for refund or freebie, just hoping the next time diners will enjoy a better experience. Staff looked tired and lacked a little of the usual busy happy atmosphere.. It maybe a while before we return as there are more choices now we may need to explore. I will say I didn't recognise the usual management team, maybe this has changed? However, so have the standards.

Tried this restaurant as I was passing. Started with pickles and popadoms nice pickle tray. I was taking time to select what I wanted and The waiter was quite pushy and a bit too cock sure of himself for my liking. He kept trying to get me to have something he recommended. I settled on onion Bali and butter chicken. This Bhakti was ok. PBut I was not impressed with the waiter who was rushing me I was still eating my popadoms when he brought the starter. Half way through the starter he told me my main course was ready to serve. I told him he would have to wait. When the main course arrived it seemed very greasy and did not much taste like butter chicken. There was little chicken in it. Then I asked for the bill when it arrived it was for someone else’s drink and food. I was the only one in the restaurant. So how on earth could a mistake like that happen? Makes me wonder if he was hoping I wouldn’t notice and was trying to pull a fast one. But that is my pure suspicion. No I don’t think I will return.

We were travelling to Elgin for a family funeral and stayed overnight in Inverness. We decided we fancied Indian for dinner and seen this restaurant. The reviews mostly looked ok so decided to give it a try. Biggest mistake ever. On arrival the place looked really busy so thought that’s a good sign, didn’t realise at this time that it was actually a private function. Ordered drinks. They came promptly, which is where the positivity ends. We went up to the buffet. Starters were tasteless spiced onions with soggy popadoms, chicken pakora or rock hard onion banjees. We had two bits of each. There did seem to be a fair selection of mains until on further inspection consistently mostly dishes of sauce with not much meat or vegetable, the worse being the “king prawn” chilli. There was no prawns at all in it. We eventually settled on some beef dopiaza, I’ve never seen beef in any Indian restaurant before, and some chicken vindaloo. Both were watery and tasteless. My husband had two forkfuls then couldn’t eat anymore as it was inedible. I had taken more but again couldn’t eat it. My husband started to feel ill, not to do with the food, just he was too warm, so I shouted a member of staff to say he’d taken a funny turn. They were completely unconcerned, didn’t even offer his a glass of water. I explained that he hadn’t ate anything from the mains as he was feeling ill but asked for a container for mines, only as I don’t want to seem rude, although I had no intention of eating it. I did get a tub but after a lot of humming and hawing, the staff were extremely unfriendly. They were only concerned in attending the group booking. When we went to the till to pay, while being stood over like a hawk by the manager, I think he thought we were going to try to do a runner. I explained again that my husband had taken ill and hadn’t actually ate anything apart from two bits of pakora, thinking that as a goodwill gesture they would offer a discount but no chance. The bill came to £47.60. I handed over £50 and while I would always leave a substantial tip waited on my change on this occasion this wasn’t happening as we had had no service and substandard food. To make matters the worse the girl I gave the money to said oh do you want your change. I said yea as my husband hadn’t ate anything. I’d never not leave a tip but no way was I tipping for this rubbish. I hate leaving bad reviews however feel that’s on this occasion it’s necessary.

Tandoori was the best out of all. Hot & spicy ! Chicken curry , saag paneer was average. Onion bhaji is good. Staff was courteous and friendly. Lovely ambience.

We went in on cold December evening, received a very warm welcome and shown to our table. The waitress left us for a few minutes before checking if we were ok and then taking our drinks and poppadoms order Drinks arrived and after a bit of friendly banter meal orders taken. ( this next bit is our only gripe) The empty poppadoms plates were whisked away with out checking we had finished and the main meals were arriving at the table, no break in between. Now the gripe over lets get to the food. The food was absolutely delicious and flavoursome, lots of it as well . The rice was cooked to perfection and the Brocoli aloo was fantastic. Would we eat there again, definitely without hesitation, just its only 300miles from where we live so may not be classed as regulars.

A fantastic meal with very friendly staff, the chicken Dhansak was tasty and plentiful as was the Chicken Laziz. My only gripe was the lets whip the poppadom plates out of the way and replace with main course within 10 seconds, a little time between would have been welcomed.

Friendly waiter but unfortunately that's where the positives end. Unfortunately Sunday is a buffet so you have a selection of medium/cold mild flavourless curries which are mainly gravy with a few bits of chicken if your lucky and to top it off it's extremely overpriced at £18 per person. Save your money and buy a supermarket frozen meal!

Food was delicious but worst waitresses I have ever encountered. No smiles. No coming back to the table to ask if food was OK or if we needed anything else. And just looking angry. I've never seen anyone looking like they hate their job more than these waitresses.

I am normally a fan The Wee Delhi. But, on this occasion the food was awful. A Chicken Tikka Marsala. The chicken was quite nice , but the sauce was awful. It was like coconut soaked in tomato kectchup. It was so incredibly sweet ,much more akin to a sloppy desert rather than a Masala sauce. Not a hint of curry flavour. What a shame. I would be reluctant to buy another meal there. There are obviously no set ingredients to guarantee any dish. The wee Delhi special which I usually have , is meant to have green peppers ,more often than not , they not included in this dish.

You have to visit Royal Bengal Indian restaurant if you are near Nairn or passing through, one of the best Indian meals we have had in this area by far. Service was excellent from start to finish and all the staff were very friendly and helpful when selecting our food choices. Also very good value for money for the high quality food we received.
