The best restaurants serving Indian food in England

Visiting on holiday we fancied a curry and was a decision between two in the town , we chose here as it looked nicer from the outside , we are so glad we did , the food was delicious and the staff were incredibly welcoming , very friendly and attentive , we will definitely be back , thankyou :)

The food was great. Unfortunately, the owner seemed to always be wandering around on his phone talking through earbuds. Attentive when you could get his attention. Very quiet. However, the only other diners were very loud and seemed to be helping themselves from the bar. Bit of a strange arrangement.

Go to Ivory tusk for delivery 2-3 times a month. I have received some of the worst customer service ever over the phone. Whilst I appreciate with inflation prices are going up, I don’t expect my regular order to go up by £9 and when querying it I got shut down and told I’m wrong. I went through the menu with the lad on the phone and it came to exactly what we usually pay. Yet he proceeded to tell me I’d made a mistake and was wrong in the worst tone and manner I’ve ever had. I WILL NEVER BE RETUNING THERE AGAIN. In a time where eating out and takeaways are a luxury to people you would think they would welcome the business with open arms, obviously not. 1 star is being generous.

First time I have used just-eat for Simla Tandoori and was very pleased with the service

Not a warm welcome. Felt like we were intruding on a staff meeting. The waiter referred to my party as guys when clearly 2 of us were ladies. I asked the waiter not to address us in that manor. 3/4 of an hour later when the food came he did it again. Other restaurants are available locally.

Had a lovely meal last night. Lamb dupiaza was amazing. So much tender lamb .my wife had chicken tikka balti which was equally as good. Great service. Really enjoyed it. Even though we were the only couple in the service was very attentative. Would definitely recommend.

We’ve been really disappointed in this restaurant the last couple of times we’ve ordered out food is cold tasteless and the portions are smaller not what it used to be. We will be looking Elsewhere in the future

So I’ve just moved to the area tried 5/6 curry houses and non have hit the spot, tried here last night and let me tell you it is amazing ! It’s so good ordered two nights in a row honestly amazing value, great quality food and quick delivery time ! Staff are friendly on the phone yet to go in but I’m sure it’s great inside ! Honestly 10/10 cannot complain ! Thanks James (Your new regular)!

Este es un gran restaurante indio en la ciudad. He estado dos veces ahora y he disfrutado de ambas veces. Lo recomendaría encarecidamente para una buena comida y un gran servicio.

Neither child nor allergy friendly. No highchairs and no allergen menu, despite the latter being a legal requirement. Not a very welcoming or accommodating atmosphere. We had to leave before ordering as the staff wanted us to trust that they knew what was in their dishes, rather than providing the legally required allergen information. Very disappointing.

Amazing food as always - great atmosphere, lovely staff - couldn’t ask for more…. Best naam breads ever! Front of house were great

Fantastic food and lovely service. Due to a booking error our table hadn't been reserved but they still fitted us in - even though they were very busy. So glad they were able to accommodate us as the food was simply outstanding!
