While the service is good, the quality and taste of the dishes feel underwhelming, especially considering the high prices. Though the menu has plenty of options, the flavors don’t justify the cost. If you’re looking for variety, this place has it, but if you’re after authentic and well-balanced flavors, it might leave you disappointed.

Located upstairs - no lift, only stairs. Went with elderly parents so the stairs access was an issue for us. The service was slow, food tasted average, masala chai not good. There is no heating. It all felt cheap and thrown together.

Especially I would mention “Ama” was given attentive service and a welcoming atmosphere, making it a great choice for a satisfying meal. This was my second time here and I would definitely come back.

Came here on a business visit earlier this week - have to go upstairs to get there. Menu looked very interesting, service very friendly. 3 types of Gobi on the menu, great for Gobi lovers like me. The Tandoori Gobi was great. I had chettinad lamb - it was really tasty, very high quality and well cooked. Very impressed.

A Filling South Indian Buffet On a Friday afternoon, we decided to visit Dosa and Chutney to indulge in their much-talked-about buffet lunch option. Although we had noticed this buffet before, our busy schedules had prevented us from trying it, as it was only available during weekdays. To our delight, we discovered that a buffet could be both satisfying and affordable, showcasing a curated selection of authentic South Indian dishes. The ambiance was straightforward, devoid of fancy salad islands or extravagant displays, but it got straight to the heart of the matter: delicious food. We began our meal with flavorful starters, including spicy chicken wings and crispy onion bhaji, which set the tone for what was to come. Next, we enjoyed a vibrant cauliflower poriyal paired with a steaming bowl of rasam, a traditional spicy South Indian soup that warmed the soul. The main course offered an impressive variety: fragrant biryani, plain rice, sambar, bhindi curry, and a delightful Madras-style lamb and chicken curry. Dosa and naan were available upon request, adding to the feast. Although the spread might seem modest at first glance, once we began to dig in, smiles of pure satisfaction spread across our faces as we savored each spicy treat. My personal favorite was the mutton, which tasted so authentic that it transported me back to Chennai. A pro tip: try the mutton with the dosa—it’s simply amazing! Overall, this buffet is a fantastic value for anyone who loves Indian flavors. Highly recommended!

Worst buffet ever. I tried in my life: no chutney with dosa and you have to choose between dosa and naan. Very disappointed! I wasted £15 on horrible food and service. No one even cares about refills or clearing plates. I would never recommend this place.

The atmosphere is average and a bit crowded and the staff is friendly and welcomes everyone, I’ve dined here several times. The biriyani was a bit over spices and ingredients compared to the rice portion.

I love the food and that’s why I’m a repetitive customer but the staff (apart from the managers) are absolutely unaware about the menu or the offerings, they don’t serve well, don’t greet, and clearly say they don’t know when asked about anything on the menu or pricing. This ruins my experience every time. I wish they match their staff standards to their food.

Located at city centre, my go to place whenever i crave for indian food.All dishes are exquisite and well prepared, my favourites being chicken tikka biriyani, masala dosa and mango lassi.Faizal is an excellent host.

This was my second time at this restaurant. I like dosa and chutney. I ordered a plain dosa, which was crispy and nice. The vada and sambhar were also nice.

I visited this restaurant and had a disappointing experience. Despite asking for water 2-3 times, I never received it until I was paying the bill, when they finally offered it. I also requested extra chutney, which took 15 minutes to arrive after multiple follow-ups. I ordered rasam, and it was just warm, not hot, and the portion size was very small—just half a bowl. The service was terribly slow, especially on a Friday and Saturday evening. I had to wait half an hour for food, and even then, some dishes came much later than others. Would not recommend visiting on weekends or Friday evenings as the service is consistently poor. Avoid if you're looking for a smooth dining experience.

Family came to visit and took them for a meal. Two waitresses, one of whom too the order for drinks snd starters. Took about 25 minutes to arrive. I asked twice about it and said the children were hungry. Said she'd and find out but never came back to us. Eventually the starters arrived, ni explanation or apology. We gave the order fir the main thinking it msy take just as long but arrived even before we'd finished the starters. No replacement cutlery so I took them from an empty table. When I went to pay I was told the total but no break down of bill so I requested it before paying. The restaurant wasn't packed at all. Very poor service!

My husband and I are regulars here for the past one year and we absolutely love this place. They serve the best South Indian cuisine. Their prices are great value for money.

Always have had great time & food here, for about 3 years now. The service ever improving, and always felt welcomed. The taste too consistent and good. Value for money. Buffet are ideal go to if you crave for proper S.Indian meal.

Overall very good. Portions slightly small. But this is compensated by the great fresh ingredients. Decor needs freshening up plus the large windows that make up for the shop front would benefit from a clean. Atmosphere is ambient. Service is very good. The manager is very professional. And was fully aware of nut allergies I will visit again next time I am in Nottingham to experience the Dosa.

The place to taste wonderful delicious food is Dosa and Chutney. I had been visiting this place couple of times , such a nice and respectful staff service . The organized atmosphere and healthy ambience are too good. The taste of food is top notch. I advice to just visit once with your friends and iam sure you will be visit again and again.

This is genuine review!!! I couldn’t eat food from here due to poor hygiene. The staffs were very rude(two ladies there today)/not at all welcoming. The spoons on the table were not even washed. It was very expensive and poor quality food. This place ruined my day. Please save yourself from this unhygienic place. I cant even say atleast one point good about this place, so dissatisfied.

Learnt about their quality of food and its filled with frozen or old batter for idly/dosa/vada etc. Service has been super slow and weird for the last 3 times I went. Even a plate of idly took 30+ minutes.

I don’t do review but I had to do it for this restaurants The food is here is good but the biggest drawback is that the owner was a bit annoying 7 of my Chinese friends and I had visited and order 5 to 7 dishes so my friends can taste Indian food for the first time. The owner on taking the order was repeatedly asking us to order more food and complaining that it will be a loss to him. As a customer I don’t expect the owner to complain to order more food. It is our choice right ? This was the first time my Chinese friends tried an Indian restaurant and ended up being a very bad experience. Although the food was good but the overall experience was a big disappointment. Would not recommend only due to the customer service experience.

Outstanding price-to-value ratio! We had been planning to come here for a long time before we finally popped in on a Friday evening. Thankfully there were a few tables without reservation so we sat down by the window. Staff were speedy and accomodating. Food was utterly delicious. If you are after genuine spicy food, Dosa And Chutney is the must-go place. We will definitely return here in future as the restaurant has a wide arrange of meals and we are eager to enjoy as many of their dishes as possible!

We arrived for the UNLIMITED breakfast buffet at 11:45 AM, only to find ourselves the first customers. The buffet included idly, mini poori, vada, Pongal, kesari, rava upma, and just one dosa, served with coffee or tea. Unfortunately, only the idly and sambar were fresh and tasty. Other items, Pongal, kesari, chana masala, and both chutneys lacked flavor and seemed old. We even found small stones in the rava upma. On the bright side, Shruthi provided excellent service, but the guy in reception near the bill counter was quite rude. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place for a satisfying South Indian breakfast.

Amazing food every time we go to Dosa chutney our experience is good. We recently went for breakfast buffet and food was amazing and tasty 🤤 my son loves there Dosa especially there ghee roast Dosa and mini idlis. There staff is amazing always smiling and welcoming. Going with little one to restaurant can be challenging but the staff are very supportive and helpful.

This place is incredible, everything I've tried is so flavorful, interesting and brilliant: fried rice, biryani, lamb korma, lamb chettinadhu, paneer makhani, daal, everything! Actually can't believe how good this place is, you haven't tried Indian food until you've been here, the depth and complexity of flavours is stunning. Should be rated number one in the UK, not just Nottingham. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

Located in the city centre, so it's good spot for eating after/before your shopping, you can sit next to the window and enjoy the city views. Im not very familiar with Indian cuisine, but the waitress was very patient with me and assisted me in choosing what to eat and explained the different tastes and flavors in the dishes I was interested in trying , which made things easy and smooth. The food was 10/10 😋😋, fresh, looked and tasted delicious.

Last Sunday we went for the morning buffet. It’s suppose to be from 10:30 till 12:30 we reached at 11 and there was no food left and they almost took 30 to 40 minutes to refill. Food was cold and when asked they said they had some technical issue. Like when asked for dosa they literally gave us 1 and said will give more later and they never did. Buffet means all the food shud be ready to refill and shud be warm. Food wasn’t tasty at all and very poor customer service. Not worth the money you are paying for. Wont suggest the buffet option.

I spent a total of 24 hours in Nottingham, and managed to visit this place twice: I have to say, this is some of the very best south indian food I've ever had (my visit to India included haha). Can't recommend enough!

Visited for lunch with work colleagues. Had the lunchtime buffet. Plenty of choice and all very tasty. Particularly liked the deal, chicken curry and vegetable curry. My colleagues were equally happy with the Dosa with a variety of fillings.

It was really good and awesome... The service is also excellent. The wash and the hand washing area is not so hygienic and felt bad odour. They can spend a little to maintain that area as well. For food I will recommend the restaurant for sure. 👍

Nice little place if you are craving Dosas and Parottas. We ordered, Virgin Mojito - Perfect mix, extra ordinary, Lamb chops - very good, Gobi 65- Bland and no salt, Chilli Parotta - ok, Parotta & Pepper Chicken Masala - Fantastic Lamb Biriyani - Fantastic. Kids Dosa - Very good Service is a but slow as there was one staff member running around, cleaning tables as well as serving food, also had to remind her a couple of times of what we had asked earlier. Parking is a pain as we had to use the Paid underground parking which was not good. We will be visiting again !

Me and my friend were planning to visit the restaurant for a long. When we visited Nottingham last time it was fully occupied so didn’t have the patience to wait to be honest. After months we visited Nottingham in November 2023, and desperately want to visit this restaurant. Will start from ambiance, not an extraordinary restaurant a simple , small restaurant so I would rate the ambiance 2.5 out of 5 The food we ordered was non veg, the quantity was very less for the price we pay The quality is not that impressive, somewhat ok kind of food The wait time was more than expected when there were only 2,3 seats being served The restaurant staff’s were friendly The food prices are too much comparing with the quantity of food We been to the men’s rest room to wash that was a horrible experience ,not clean at all

got three different dosas for my table, all of them came so so thin that it crumbled as soon as we touched it. Brought it to the waitress’s attention and asked for a replacement nan or anything but they doubled down and said “that’s how they make it” which isn’t true because i went there a week before and dosas were made fine. my friends lassi had a fly in it, and the waitress had an attitude asking how it happened as if implying we did it before taking it back, so so embarrassing. i don’t think i’ll be returning here.

In my opinion this is the best south indian restaurant I’ve ever tried. When it comes to indian food, I am really picky because I am south indian myself, but this restaurant is perfect if you are missing and craving your mum’s food because it’s authentic, spicy and flavorful!

A very positive experience from start to finish. the waitress was pleasant and professional. The food was incredible. We will certainly be returning as soon as possible. There was a slight issue with delay in the preparation of my dosa but the Manager explained the issue and apologised so we did not see this as a problem. Customer service was exceptional and would highly recommend.
