Savera Tandoori in Nottingham

I usually not review and share bad experiences but this was really bad, I ordered Chicken Biryani and Chicken 65 and it was such a yuck, biryani was not at all biryani but mixed rice served with dal(lentils and yogurt where they charged me extra for this) tastes less food, do not go there if you do not want to waste your money and eat low standard tasteless food. I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Wes down on Wednesday asked for a sit in but was told it was takeaway only that night so ordered a portion of chicken pakora, chips etc got back to the hotel to find I had three onion bhagis in the bag no chicken due to the distance I would have went back to complain.

I recently dined at this restaurant and found the atmosphere to be lacking. There is definitely room for improvement. While the prices are on the higher side, there are other Indian restaurants in town that offer better quality at a more reasonable cost. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but there's potential for much more.

They let me have my dragon soup with my curry. Nuff said.

Saw this place just off derby road thought to give it a try I can say amazing and beautiful food excellenct customer service upmost and kind staff even gave extra portions and the prices are great for the quality of food would recommend to anyone 100/10 place

Big group came in for two lads birthdays. Treated us awfully and rushed us out the place. Waiter woth the fake LV hat needs to sort himself out. Food was decent. Go taste of india instead its a far better experience

Walk in, was met by a rude man in a fake Louis Vuitton hat. Was told upon entry that they are very busy and we must hurry up. All members of staff were incredibly rude and obnoxious. No manners at all. Food was incredibly average and unreasonably expensive. Do not go near this curry house it is the absolute worst restaurant experiance I have ever had

Would not recommend!!! Waiter rushed our order and let us know they were busy and needed us to leave immediately after we finish, collecting plates before we even finished. The way they spoke to us was completely disgusting. The food was overpriced for what you get. Dont come here!

The service was abhorrent, genuinely did not feel welcomed from the get go. We had a booking but they told us we didn’t and tried to kick us out before even receiving our food. However, the food was amazing. I would only ever get a takeout, not worth the grief and energy of eating in.

Been living in Nottingham 15 years and there's a reason we've been back to Savera over and over, one of the best takeaways in the city. Naan and samosa delicious , and currys amazing. Only slight disappointment this time was the veggie korma, not quite enough fresh vegetables for us, but everything else in the order was great. Highly recommended. Sag paneer is a favourite.

We made our first visit to Savera Balti after driving up from West Sussex to take our daughter to university. All four of us were hugely impressed with the quality of the food, the friendly, attentive service and the good atmosphere. Note that I said "our first visit" - this is because we shall most certainly be dining at Savera Balti again when we visit our daughter in Nottingham.

So they have managed to get my last orders bang on so I am able to go back to 5 stars for the food. The food is excellent (when they get the order right) so based on the takeaway I am now happy to give it a 5 stars again. I have also tried a few new dishes off the menu and they have also been really good. This place is well worth a try if you are looking for a good Indian takeaway (not been in the restaurant so can't comment on that).

Ordered from here for the first time on Christmas Eve and it was amazing so we ordered again the day before New Year’s Eve. The lamb dishes are lovely because the meat is so soft and has no fat, the chicken dishes are full of flavour and the keema rice is just brilliant. Great value for money and will continue to order. Edit: Visited the restraint for the first time in person with my friends and it was lovely. The staff are very accommodating and will always refill the water jug. The curries no matter which one you pick are very tasty and the naans are great. As a bonus for students they offer a ‘BYOB’ which is great way for students to save money on drinks.

Absolutely rip off’s ordered £53 worth of food turns up 25 mins late plus half order missing and cold,..rang 3 times to complain was told by manager to ring back next day as they was busy and He was getting half my missing order £ refunded .hence no £ been refunded to my account nor any correspondence from manager..disgusting customer service never mind ripping ppl off on delivery orders..!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Indian - Tasty food and a good ambiance. BYOB is a fantastic feature as we were students. dropped a rating as waitress was a bit dull and the portion size (main dish) was a bit small for the price paid.

The absolute best balti ever . For over 10 years I have been going here and no other balti comes close!

Big group of uni students, everyone paid for their food individually and made sure we had paid for everything on each table. And yet at the end of the evening the manager tells us that there is £80 unaccounted for! We challenged this and each one of us showed our bank accounts and cross-checked that the same money on the bill had been taken out of our account. After showing this, the manager quickly back tracked and that number of £80 miraculously reduced to £25! Eventually we paid this amount but there was some definite tinkering around with the total bill. Don’t eat the popadoms even when they bring them out without you asking! Each one costs £2 and the chutney pot costs £9. The waitress was rude and obnoxious and on multiple occasions she pulled away people’s food before they had even finished in an attempt to get us to leave! Truly awful service. Not sure whether they were aware that we are uni students so we are somewhat naive but this was unacceptable and frankly disgusting behaviour. Not the first time I have heard this happening at Savera! Never again…

Having not visited Savera since the first wave of Covid , I returned tonight with my partner for my birthday meal out. I'm happy to report that our chosen dishes ( saag paneer, Markhani dahl, vegetable Handi's Specialities and pilau rice) were all delicious. The service was friendly, the table was very nicely set and the ambience was relaxed and pleasant. The place looks like it's had a facelift since our last visit and was bright and cheery. Great to find the Savera is still a great place good food and a pleasant evening out.

Ordered a take away. It was so late the food was cold. The popadam were inedible and chewy. Kasmeri curry was very sour and lamb was tough. The chicken tikka marsala was tasteless. The onion baji's, naan bread and rice were actually lovely. Very expensive for sub standard fare

I ordered for delivery, the food was cold, the chicken tikka was bland, the Kashmiri tasted like pure vinegar. The meat was tough. Expensive for a disappointing meal and delivery experience.

Never turned up! After waiting a hour for food (as per the app showing progress) as a regular customer. Called them to see when food is going to arrive and they tell me I’m in the wrong for ordering five minutes before their cut off time. Change your cut off time if you can’t accommodate loyal customers! I’ll no doubt order from you again, due to your amazing food. I’m just deeply upset at your lack of due diligence for consistent costumers. Hopefully our future orders will go smoothly.

Overall it was good, paneer was more tasty than chicken and rotis were fine made up of maida, I only don't like their naan because they were ready made.

Good local Indian restaurant on Derby Road. There are a mix of traditional and modern Indian dishes. While the dishes are delicious, and spicy enough for an Indian pallette, the portion sizes are a bit small given the price and the ambience of the restaurant.

Had a great meal here for my birthday with my partner, 9th july. Very pleasant, friendly staff, attentive but not intrusive, many thanks Halimah and Amjad ! Food was fresh and very tasty, my lamb was so tender... - gorgeous ! I was even given a small bottle of wine for my birthday when we left - a very nice touch. It's not particularly cheap, but we did order loads (see pics) and we thoroughly enjoyed it - and finished it the next day! Just 1 negative, the draught Cobra wasn't very nice, perhaps we had the 1st couple of the day (or week...) but it didn't spoil our evening. Many thanks

Delicious food, packed well and ready on time. We ordered vegetarian dishes including paneer dishes- each was as described in terms of strength so children were able to enjoy mild dishes whilst my wife had a medium jalfrezi and I had the hot. Freshly made with fresh ingredients. Journey home was 7 minutes and food was perfect temperature to eat without faff of reheating.

Quite possibly the worst Indian meal I have ever had. The Biryani that was packed full of over cooked garden peas and it’s accompanying vegetable sauce, with its tinned mushrooms, tasted horrible. Never again Do yourself a favour and order elsewhere , the food is far from fresh.

I've been visiting or taking away from the Savera for 20 years and their quality is second to none. On this occasion I had the Punjabi chicken. It was superb! The chicken was prime breast not the reformed or poor quality that some places do. It was pretty hot but not so hot that you couldn't enjoy the spicing. The sundries were all nice too with a fresh complimentary side salad and various dips.

Eaten previously at Savera and the food is quite good but this time it wasn’t the greatest. Chicken was chewy in places and sauces are not the nicest I’ve had but okay. Cheese naans weren’t great, not much cheese inside and the odd bit sprinkled on top. Beware it used to be bring your own alcohol but it is not anymore! A few tables got caught out by this.

I've had both take away and have eaten in and can say the food and service are exceptional, and great value.

I hate when people can’t be honest! Ordered a takeaway, after an hour rang and was told on its way! A further 25 min wait, rang again and was told, on its way, this time with complimentary red wine! Why the red wine, if it was on its way 25 mins ago? I still haven’t received my order, 90 mins later! I won’t order from here again, not because of the quality of the food - as I haven’t tasted it yet, but because they can’t be honest and think they can take your hard earned money without showing an ounce of respect!!

Food quality was not up to the mark. I have ordered from this restaurant multiple times and found out that it’s quality has degraded since my first order. Hopefully they should consider my feedback and improve their quality.

I always look forward to ordering from Savera. Food is always ready almost immediately for pick up, there is a friendly atmosphere and the curries are varied and delicious. I also love the range of appetisers and I am pretty convinced they have the best Peshwari naan bread I’ve ever had. Guaranteed to be delicious!

Having ordered previously from Savera and really enjoyed thought I'd treat myself and husband, ordered chicken Saag with keema naan and pilau rice and kashmiri chicken with pilau rice, chicken saag very salty and chicken quite tough, kashmiri chicken was very spicy but tasted full of mint and lemon, could only eat a few mouthfuls, total cost of food £21.15 plus £3.95 delivery charge, not the best takeaway for how much it cost.

Only half my order was delivered in the 1st instance. Meaning my main dish was left to go cold whilst I waited for the driver to return with my rice, pudding and drink. And then when the pudding was delivered, it wasn't cooked properly. Not worth being forced to spend £20 to get an order from this place

Female behind the counter needs to learn basic manners and not have attitude problem. She should learn to speak properly and not bark orders at people. Totally uncalled behaviour, dont give dirty looks too.
