Been coming here for 40+ years & gutted when closed but now re-open with same family members who are very friendly & happy to guide you through the menu's. We were booked in for 6.30 on Sat 26th Oct & seated straight away with no delays at all. The waiters were immaculately turned out & very knowledgeable on the dishes,our food was outstanding & we took what we could not eat home. The quality of this restaurant is 10/10 so give it a try. Happy Diwali to staff & the excellent owner/manager alike oh & of course the kitchen staff who prepare & cook this delicious food. Thank you & see you soon.

Loved the food and the service was very good

Food, as always, was delicious. We don't go here very often, once or twice a year when there is something on at the theatre, but we make an effort to have a meal here first and they have never let us down. Service is excellent, menu varied and always cooked beautifully. Prices are a bit higher than we are used to but I guess that's the 'big city' effect. The atmosphere was a bit subdued this time because we went midweek so it wasn't too busy but the friendly staff made up for that. And you have to look for the mistake on the back of the menu.

Absolutely brilliant 1st time here won’t be the last though. 2nd visit tonight just after they opened at 5pm and yet again absolutely fantastic, can’t fault anything about this place

I recently dined at mogal-e-azam, and it was a delightful experience. The ambience was warm and inviting, with tasteful decor and soft lighting that created a cozy atmosphere.

A Flavourful Journey at a Local Gem When entering the place I was greeted warmly and sat in the waiting room. This allowed me to admire the photo wall with many famous faces that visited this place. Their décor set the stage for a fantastic meal. The food was simply amazing and a true representation of fine Indian cuisine which tantalised my taste buds. The portions are definitely worth the price and their vast menu is suitable for all pallettes. A good selection of drinks and cocktails. I recommend trying their mojitos. Their paratha came crunched and was a wonderful accompaniment to my special chicken curry. There is parking at the nearby Crowne Plaza hotel. It's located in the middle of Nottingham town centre so quite easy to reach by public transport also. First class service, great food and good value.

The food is amazing out here. The ambience is also very good The spices they use in their food are different and I think it's the best food in nottingham

We visited last Friday evening shortly after it opened (5pm) and it was already reassuringly busy. We were given a warm and friendly welcome (hadn't booked) and subsequently enjoyed a wonderful level of customer service from Ayesha and her colleagues. The menu refelects an extensive range of dishes including chef specials, and both of our meals were cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend the Tandoori mixed grill! The location is perfect for the Concert Hall and Theatre which are less than a minute's walk away. All in all ... a '5 star' experience. Thank you.

Visited this amazing restaurant in the heart of nottingham a couple of days ago with friends and family. All i have are amazing things to say about the restaurant. The ambiance was wonderful, food quality was exceptional and the staff was very nice and cooperative. Special thanks to everyone for making sure our evening was hassle free!

Came down from Sheffield first place we made for is this brilliant place. 20+ years since we last came. Can honestly say that the food was brilliant,served extremely polite waiters. The place looks amazing and never seen ladies toilet so clean and beautifully decorated. Hope it's not another 20 years before we go again

So this is not based on the food, but being asked to leave because I asked for popadoms at the start of my order for my kids before the meal came. Whilst I can’t judge the food, the service and the abruptness of the staff had led me to leave this. I asked for popsdoms for my kids as we had spent the day in nottingham, the waiter comes over and says, unfortunately you can’t have them until you order, at which point I said, do you want to some money so you know I am staying and not running away. At which point the waiter said if you continue I will ask you to leave… I was asked to leave because I wanted my kids to have some popadoms - a first! maybe it was my kids, or my wife’s headscarf, whatever it was - really bad experience. It’s a shame my wife was and kids were with me!

We had the set menu for 2. Starters were delicious. Excellent quantity of food for the mains and we couldn't finish it! Naan bread was the best we've ever had. Thank you for a fabulous evening.

Isn't cheap and we think after checking receipt day after we weren't charged correctly for what we ordered. Food was good service good Quiet night when we went. Shame the bill was higher than we expected.

I found this Indian restaurant on Google. This Indian restaurant is on Goldsmith street. Fantastic choice there is on the menu to choose from. Staff customer service skills were fantastic. Terrific value for money. I will definitely return here again next time I stop overnight in the city of Nottingham

It was very amazing food at mogal e asam, one of our friend recommended this and it was all worth it. We really enjoyed a lot.

Went tonight with a large group. We were given a wide choice of starters and main courses, plus poppadoms and chutneys and choice of naan breads and rice. Superb food and service. Beautiful decor, atmosphere, Indian music and warmth. We paid a very reasonable group price, and drinks were not expensive either. Would highly recommend as excellent!

Fabulous food and great service. It's more fine dining place than a local curry house, so expect to pay a little more, but you can taste the difference. Will definitely be going next time I visit Nottingham.

A few friends and I visited this evening, and were very happy with our experience. The food was incredible and they were more than happy to change dishes to different spice levels, and extra add ons. The service was phenomenal; the waiters were polite and courteous and went the extra mile to improve our dining experience. The service was well timed, and we were well looked after. Will definitely be retuning to eat here soon!

My recent visit to this hotel left a sour taste due to their absurd policy forcing each person to order both a starter and main, demanding a minimum bill of £26 per person. This unreasonable restriction tainted our experience, leading us to promptly walk away in frustration.

I went to the mogale azam along with family and friends. I must say the main food is very delicious with nice starters and they have a lot of deink options available.Interior was amazing with beautiful decorations and the staff was very kind,humble and polite always serving you guys with a nice smile. We had been here before a couple of times and enjoyed it so called in again when passing through Nottingham. The interior has all been redesigned since out last visit and looks nice. Service was good - very friendly and polite. However, we were a bit disappointed. We eat at a lot of Indian restaurants and thought the food was OK - overpriced for what we had which were basic curries. Poppadoms had a very strong oil taste which wasn't pleasant. Don't do normal cider, just some berry flavoured one, which was surprising. Would probably look at other options next time.

Visited with a group of friends and wasn’t disappointed with the new look. Friendly professional staff with a fresh feel to the place, visited the original Mogul a few times over the years and I’m sure the new owners will have many more to come. Booked in for a pre-theatre meal. Seated quickly and service was very prompt considering how busy they were. Food was served hot, fresh and was very tasty. Staff were super attentive and meal was top quality and very reasonably priced. Lovely atmosphere too. Will definitely be back.

Staff are nice and friendly. Food was just ok, had better, had worse. We waited far too long for our mains to come after we'd had poppadoms and pickles. However we were a group of 10 and the restaurant was busy so I was quite understanding about the situation. Other tables seemed to be served theirs much quicker so it's probably not the norm. Didn't stop me being starving though 😬. Overall it wasn't a bad experience just a lengthy one.

Having chosen this restaurant based on its proximity to the rescue rooms we actually don't think we'd have done better for a wonderful meal. The service was friendly and attentive, with personal recommendations but not overbearing. A strong start with an interesting pickles tray did not disappoint and then a good selection of traditional and more original mains. The food tasted fresh, beautifully balance of spices and melt in your mouth lamb, certainly not just your average curry house. Would definitely make a point of coming back if in the area again.
