Asked a polish taxi driver to take us to a really nice Asian styled restaurant. After nearly 8 miles away from our hotel he brought us here. Couldn’t really make anything out of the taste as it was all cooked for the English palate. Anyways the establishment doesn’t sell Halal meats. Luckily we asked. So you have to ask them before ordering. The guy taking our order seemed very confused when we asked him on the authenticity of the Halal meat. But luckily very hesitantly told us to eat the chicken. Anyways we stuck to the veg starters and dishes. I think the only person to get a buzz out of the whole experience was the taxi driver taking us back on a two way fare.

Mi marido pensó que me invitaría a una comida india en este restaurante de Wollaton, Nottingham, ya que tuvimos comida para llevar de allí, que fue muy agradable, fuimos temprano por la noche y nos ofrecieron mirar el menú para madrugadores, entrante y plato principal para 9. 95, pensó genial, ya que parecía ser una gran ganga y oh chico, nos decepcionó. La comida probablemente fue suficiente para alimentar a un niño pequeño, el entrante de champiñones de ajo era muy pobre y se sentó con la boca abierta esperando que el camarero saltara y diga sólo bromeando y aquí está el resto, había literalmente 2 champiñones cortados por la mitad y el plato principal no era mucho mejor, solo digamos que tuvimos que recoger algo en el camino a casa ya que ambos teníamos hambre. No hace falta decir que no volveremos. En general, fue una noche muy decepcionante. Sacar no está mal, pero ni siquiera me ha pedido que les ordene ahora. Me pregunto si es un caso de pagar menos y obtener menos, lo cual es totalmente incorrecto. Estoy consternado de ser justo así que por favor tenga en cuenta si va a visitar al madrugador para asegurarse de que haya tenido algo de comer antes de ir

Volvimos a visitar este restaurante como invitados de amigos. El ambiente fue genial porque había un buen número de comensales. La comida fue excelente; Tuve mi Votey Chicken habitual, que está bastante bien condimentado, pero el sabor es excelente si te gusta un poco de "calor" prueba el Everest Chicken, que es menos especiado pero aún sabe maravilloso. El servicio fue bueno y, en todo caso, podríamos haberlo hecho con un poco más de tiempo entre los cursos. En general, fue una noche excelente y bien merece 5 estrellas en mi opinión.

Después de haber estado aquí varias veces, estoy sorprendido por la consistencia de sus alimentos tanto en sabor como en calidad. Teníamos el menú de madrugadores y, en general, fue una gran relación calidad-precio. Buen ambiente y propietario es brillante. ¿Crees que puede ser un cambio muy pronto, así que ve abajo y disfruta del lugar mientras puedas?

At Spices Restaurant is Lovely And Calming Really Clean.

Second time here this week, food is exceptional, not bland but full of flavour. Portion sizes are also excellent. Staff very attentive and great to get on with. We tried the crab curry dish, which was surprisingly excellent, served with rice. Would recommend

Went to this restaurant as a birthday treat. The food was wonderful, the service was equally good. A lovely occasion which could not be faulted. It was a shame that there were not more diners but it was a Thursday and an evening when England were playing in the World Cup. I don't think this restaurant gets the custom that it deserves.

I've been to many Indian restaurant's over the years. They all have their strengths but I have never been let down with the food or staff at this restaurant. It's well worth a visit.

I recently visited this restaurant and left thoroughly disappointed. The staff were lovely and helpful but the food was average at best. It seemed like it was pre-cooked and then heated to order. If only the food matched the service!

Service at the restaurant is really good. Staff are professional and attentive including the manager. Food is also really well priced. Cutlery is actually clean and tables are very well presented. However, it has to be said that the food does seem to be not authentically cooked. The food won't seem bad to those who don't eat much Indian food. However, for those who know their Indian food, then this is a let down unfortunately. Not bad food just not enough authentic...

I honestly can't fault this restaurant, service again friendly and prompt, this time we went for the early bird menu, starter, main and rice for less than a tenner. Food as delicious as last time and to top it all a complimentary ice cream for the toddler. Keep up the brilliant work.

Great food as always, this place is never full, to our advantage really, we rock up and always get a table, maybe because it sits slightly out of the way but the ambience and service is always top notch. Keep up the goid work guys

First time here, it's on the old site of The Gondola pub (years back, when Balloon Wood flats were there). The place seemed rather small, but then I noticed that there were 2 rooms (only one was open, and that was not even half-full which seemed odd for a Saturday evening )The decor is lovely, the waiting staff attentive and knowledgeable. The toilets were clean, but when I sat down on one, the toilet lid kept falling down and hitting me on my back!

This was first time we had visited and it is our new favourite. The staff were so friendly and food was so good, best nann bread i've ever tasted. They even gave us a free drink whilst we waited for our taxi. Highly recommended.

Tried Spices for the first time today and glad we did. The décor is nice, the service was friendly and prompt without being rushed, the food was very good. Asked about offers and was advised they offer both an early bird and a Sunday lunch promotion that seem to be amazing value, will be back for one of these.

My family have been visiting spices regularly since it opened years ago. We have never had a bad meal and it is always amazing whether there is 2 of you or 20 of you. Love this place

First time here but definitely won't be the last. Nice to see the food hygiene rating of 5 on the door as you walk in and as soon as you enter you can see what a nice classy and clean place this is, lovely decor, fantastic food and some of the best presentation of food we have ever had. It's a yes from us.

Beautiful venue, good service and lovely food, well worth a visit. Warm welcome given, nothing too much trouble.

My hubby took me here again on Friday 3 November and we managed to pre-book a table for 5.30pm. The staff are great and very friendly. As i am not very adverturous with curry I asked for a plain, mild, lamb pasanda as it was not on the menu (only chicken) and they did it without any problems and it was absolutely delicious. Their mushroom pilau rice was fab too. We were served efficiently and quickly with no problems when it came to paying. quite reasonable too. Large carpark.

A very nice restaurant, on arrival we was greeted by two gentlemen who welcomed us in and shown us to our table ,nicely set out may I say it's a big place so you have more than enough room to feel relaxed and at ease with the soothing music playing in the background a great place if you was to host a night with friend's or family .

Plan was to take my son, his girlfriend (who are at Uni in Nottingham) and my parents for a curry. We were travelling from Stockport so I don't know the area and did some research before choosing the Spices Indian Restaurant. I needed somewhere open on Sunday with good parking (my dad has mobility issues), not too expensive or busy. I was looking for a comfortable atmosphere where we wouldn't be rushed. I am really glad I wasn't put off by a couple of negative reviews I had seen. It was lovely, really nice staff, very comfortable, traditional decor with a great atmosphere. I will definitely return when I visit my Son. We had the Sunday Special menu, delicious and superb service. Thank you.

Was taking here whilst visiting family in Nottingham on Saturday night. Great restaurant, great food really delicious very good service with lots of smiles. Looking forward to a return when I visit next.

Just been for a special evening at Spices. What a perfect place for a celebration.They have a great menu, but we ordered lamb in advance and left Rene to choose the rest. Wonderful result! And our wine connoisseur (I'm no expert) was very complimentary.

just been , nice meal however we used a tastecard which clearly states in booklet 2 for 1 on all courses but we only got 1 main meal free . had to pay for rice and dessert not happy , won't be going back when other restaurants do 2 for one free on all courses.

I took my team to Spices Indian Restaurant for our evening dinner. We left the food choice down to staff as trying to get everyone to order individual meals given the number of us would have been a nightmare.It was the right choice as the variety, quality and quantity of food was excellent and along with a friendly service made the evening a success.Thanks to all the staff for such a great evening

Really great early bird menu, at £9.95, can't fault it as it was delicious.

Food was lovely, and of great. The atmosphere was wonderful and the service was really good; drinks and food brought over in no time. All in all, was a really good meal, would fully recommend.

Went with my wife though we only live 2 minutes away let give it a go. We have ordered 2 curry which barely had any meat in the dish. I think I have counted 5 or 6 small pieces of meat.... my balti was too sweet for some reason! I could only see a lot of onion and a bit of sauce in my plate creating an allusion the dish is full of stuff. I have tried 3 different Indian restaurants in Nottingham city centre and I can say with confidence the one in Nottingham do much better food! I will no return to eat in here again! Waste of money! And food is not very good!

Both myself & the wife attended yesterday at 8:30 pm - we had starters and mains - absolutely the worst Indian food I have ever tasted, it was bland ( like a boil in the bag curry ) complained to the waiter & he wanted to knock off the bill the two portions of chips - what a joke. I Will Never eat there again. Terrible

Visited here for the first time today. Set price of £6.99 for 2 course Sunday lunch with a reasonable choice of dishes. Will definitely be making a return visit.

We came here for a long overdue meet up with our Uni friends as it was in a good location - a halfway point for us all and had great reviews on TripAdvisor.We'd prebooked and were shown straight away to our table. Our waitress for the night was amazing, so friendly and gave us some great recommendations for different dishes.We all ordered the veggie samosas to start with, also some poppadoms and a pickle tray. The bright yellow sauce (not sure what it was!) was amazing, really moreish!For mains we shared a chicken makhani, lamb rogan josh, 2 mushroom rices and 4 naan breads between us! It was a struggle to fit on the table but all looked beautiful and our taste buds were not left disappointed! Portion sizes are great and sharing dishes here really is a good idea as you get to try multiple curries without spending too much money.The atmosphere at first was a little bit awkward and quiet, there wasn't any background music playing and we were one of only 2 tables occupied. It was early when we arrived though and once it got past half seven the restaurant became much fuller and the mood really livened up - so much so that we all decided to stay longer and have a coffee.The bill was served with some mints and we were all pleasantly surprised by the total... including drinks it worked out as £20 each... which for the quality of the food was a great price!All in all we had a wonderful experience and will probably book Spices for our next catch up!

Visited here with friends on a Tuesday night. They have good offers and was looking forward to some good food. Overall the food was ok but for a place called "Spices" i'm afraid that's what there was little of in the meal. The food was ok and the service pretty good but although I only had a medium curry I would have expected much more taste than I got. Sometimes it's not all about how hot a curry is but how tasty and this where I feel they let themselves down.

Nice decor, we went on a Saturday evening and it was very noisy, we struggled to have a conversation although may have been a one off as there was a very large party to the rear of our table. The staff were pleasant and efficient. The food was ok, average Indian food, I am not sure if I would go again.

A number of us dined at Spices at the end of February on a Monday night. We arrived at approx 8:40pm and the waiter informed us they'd be closing at 10pm but we said we'd be finished well before then.The restaurant wasn't busy at that time of night and the staff were attentive but they had run out of draught lager. The tandoori mixed grill was tasty but my preference is for slightly spicier food.The restaurant has an upmarket elegant decor with the focus on food presentation.

Went here again with a friend to treat them before their retirement. Wasn't busy, but don't mind that. My food was excellent again and my friend commented how deliciously everything was. Really like the atmosphere of the place and it's obvious they have a good chef. The service was great too, so would recommend the place. We've already booked to go back with my larger party later this month!

Came here years ago to sit in the restaurant to eat which was amazing, but when I got a leaflet through my letterbox that you can also order a takeaway I thought we would give it a go. We rang them after going for a drink locally and just as we were leaving we placed the order, and within the time we travelled to Spices just 10 mins away it was ready. Have to say it was amazing and even better than years ago when ate in the restaurant. Really enjoyed the food and a quick and efficient service. If you've not tried the takeaway service it's definitely a must as good value for money and a quick turn around and absolutely delicious.

Went there for lunch, good attractive offer but your final bill will exceed way over than your expectations.Food was ok, nothing special. We order chicken karahi and chicken Jalfrazi, both tasted same and looked same. Jalfarzi has couple of green chills extra.Charged me extra for popdrum and dips, £1.40 and £1.49 each.

Again me and my wife had a lovely meal again last night at SPICES RESTAURANT (9th Feb )you just can't fault the choice of food and there friendly Staff and Management is second to none Go on try it it's a MUST

Returned for a family birthday with 7 other family members two with Gluten free requirements and spent nearly 3 hours over an enjoyable Saturday evening meal Food was excellent with a vast choice on the menu and the service was excellent attentive and not hurrying us at all Will return again Just one tiny niggle to the management could there be more choice of starters in the Gluten free options But all in all best Indian food around locally

After having numerous takeaways from spices, I decided a change to visit the restaurant with my family. The atmosphere was lovely from the minute we walked in and was greeted by the staff members who were very accommodating. The service was brilliant and the food was exquisite from starters down to desserts, best meal i've had!!

This Restaurent is fab. I love how they have decorated interior and the food is absolutely delicious. Well hygiene keeping and will never forget to mention about staff they are very friendly and helpful. Loved overall everything.

I visited the restaurant on the 21st of January, for my 40th Birthday, all I can say is:I had a chicken tikka masala, which tasted like tomato sauce! And my friend Martin had a chicken madras, which was almost like acid! I would not rate them, they did not ask once "how's is the food!" And I think they knew what answer they would get back! I have had a microwave tikka masala that had more flavour! All I can say is, if you like decent flavoured Indian food, don't visit Spices in Nottingham!Neal Clayton (very disappointed customer!)

Restaurant was lukewarm which set the trend for the evening. They rushed us through the meal even though the place was half full. Mains came and was just warm, the plates were cold. We had a meal there once before and it was lovely. There are nicer places. Would not return.

Came here for a birthday celebration and as my dad and his partner are regulars we were very warmly welcomed. The staff are brilliant and the service is spot on. The food is just as good also. Very tasty and every since I've been all I do is recommend the place! Will definitely be returning soon.

Spices is a local restaurant for us and very glad so! Came here over the weekend, quite busy as there was Christmas bookings this did not affect the service though! So we ordered some drinks and browsed the menu, such a varied menu we couldn't decide! We had 3 courses and it was just fantastic, some of the tastiest curries we've had and we eat a lot of curries! I think we was there for just over two hours 3 courses, bottle of wine and 4 beers I think it came to around £65. Worth every penny.

Visited with a friend for the first time today. Service was very prompt. Food was tasty. We had the early bird special so 2 courses for a reasonable £9.95. Worth a try.

Went here for my birthday with my husband and kids and my friends and there kids, was lovely food and came out very quick, took one star off my rating as I felt rushed in there, there was only a few in there so lots of tables free, we didn't get to see the desert menu either and why were talking finishing our drinks they were cleaning table I mean I no there going to take plates but not cleaning and dropping rice all.over our knees

Me and my partner used to go to Spices all the time, at least once or even twice a month before we decided to cut down on spending. This really has it all. A good premises which is very clean and modernised. Good range of drinks, top quality food, friendly and approachable staff. The added bonus is that I can now enjoy this in the comfort of my own home if I don't feel like going out! I ordered my first of many Spice Box takeaways last weekend and it comes perfectly packaged and with a clear indication of what is what e.g Chutneys, Yoghurts etc. I was really impressed. They also deliver free if your order is over £15.00 and within a 3 mile radius. My house is just over 3 miles but they delivered anyway which was a nice touch. I would recommend this restaurant and takeaway service to anyone!

You really feel a touch of class here, the decor, the service, and most important of all the food! The menu has some wonderful creations by the chef as well as the more traditional items.

We always go to this curry house on Christmas Eve. Lots of parking, good mobile signal. Great drinks selection. Cheap and Cheerful. Really good food. I would recommend Goan Crab Curry, Comes with lemon rice.

Me and my wife out on Friday night for a Indian. The food was fantastic. This was proper authentic Indian food. The chicken and lamb was so tender it just melts in your mouth. Booked Spices for Our anniversary and asked for flowers and chocolates to be arranged for my wife.Renu , the Gentleman who runs is did this and a balloon too.The food was awesome and the hospitality as great as ever.Going that extra mile and making it an evening to remember.Quality Staff and awesome food

Really nice food, we go each week and they make us something which isn't on the menu. Service is efficient, food tasty and the place is clean.

This is a beautiful, well appointed place to eat. Even the bar area is the most comfortable area to sit in. It was almost a shame to move to the tables!The attention to detail is good and and the waiters are so friendly and never try to hurry you.The food has always been lovely whatever I`ve ordered, and is always served hot and nicely presented.Its good value for money and is somewhere I love to visit.

We ordered a take away a few days ago and it was really tasty and fresh! I would have liked to have a bit more poppadoms, but apart from that, everything was really well cooked, fresh and we truly enjoyed it. I'd recommend it to everyone who likes Indian cuisine and likes to support independent local businesses!

Richard : popadum +pickle, chicken jalfrazi (extra chilli) +rice . P+p ok mango chutney was good chunks of mango but lacked chutney flavour jalfrazi pretty good. Helen popadum +pickle, loris assari +chips (not a big fan of rice) same comment on chutney but loris was very salty, mutton was very well cooked but inedible with sauce, after a few mouthfuls. We ordered peswari naan (Helen fave ) it was for want of a better word nasty, cut in half after cooking and stuffed with lumps of claggy coconut and 4 sultanas. Asked to swap rice for chips but was informed chips where extra. Lady waiters where pleasant but male waiters need customer service training, will we be returning? Not for quite a while.

Really beautiful restaurant. Nice setting. Reasonably priced. However, I don't know if it was what we ordered, but our food didn't live up to expectations. Also, found the waiter a little rude! The waitresses were lovely.

I won a competition for Father's Day and was awarded vouchers to eat there.It s 10 minutes from where we live and we did know about it UNTIL NOW.We love Indian food and this is the place to eat it.OMG it is absolutely lovely.We went on a Sunday lunch and it was very quiet.The food is amazing and the staff are very attentive but also very discreet.I would 100% recommend this place and we will 100% be going back soon.

As the title says Excellent as always!Nothing is too much trouble for Renu and his team. The food is not just hot but flavoursome too. A lot of other restaurants provide the heat but not the flavour, Spices certainly lives up to its name!

The food was really tasty the early bird special is small portions doesn't say that on the menu. It's more like a taster menu.We found a couple of the staff a bit rude. Our friends chose this as their birthday meal host,what a great choice.the food was plentiful,beautifully cooked and presented,the staff,although very busy,always polite and ready to help.The only downside..how can you justify charging £15 for a bottle of average wine?. Would we go back..Yes,for sure but stick to the iced water.

Me and my husband visited with in laws and the inside was lovely, the service was quick and all correct food. Portion size wasnt very big for the price you pay and the food was ok, nothing special.

I'm always surprised that this place isn't busier, because we've yet to have a bad meal here. It has consistently great food, good service and good value. It's also vegan-friendly, which always gets my vote. I recommend the vegetable madras and I'm told the tandoori chicken is also very good.

Came across this place as a recommendation by family whilst on a short break to see old friends. Table for 4, with no booking necessary was great, restaurant was elegant and had service to match. We all had a varied mix of dishes but to my delight i picked the best; Murghi Masala, have had it before elsewhere but this one was a slight variant with added lamb mince, was absolutely lovely. The saag paneer as a side dish was an great accompaniment. Finished off with a few bottles of red, all in all a good night with friends, lovely catch up and great food. This could be the new rendezvous for Nottingham :-)

Was really looking forward to visiting Spices as I had not been for over a year. I was shocked how badly we were treated and the lack of training that some of the young waitresses had received. So here's goes starting from the moment we entered Spices:-It wasn't the warmest of welcome that we received but we were escorted to our table only to be left without anyone taking our coats. The waitress offered to take our coats once we asked if there was somewhere where we could put them. We ordered our drinks with no problem but them had to ask someone to take our order. When the food arrived it was cold and what was meant to be two medium curries (mixed grill and king prawn so one of the most expensive curries on the menu) turned out to be pretty tasteless and cold. The maitre'd came to our table to ask our how meal was and laughed and walked away when we stated that the curries were lacking any spice and was cold. As you can imagine we were speechless about the reaction of the maitre'd. We then asked for a jug of water which arrived promptly. Once the meal was cleared away we were asked if we would like deserts to which we declined a asked for a cappuccino and latte but we were told they only do normal coffee. We ordered two decaffeinated coffees with milk. The coffee arrived with tubs of UHT milk and when we questioned the waitress if we could have fresh milk we were told that it was easier to bring out the UHT!!!!!! I couldn't believe my ears so asked again only to be told the same thing. Asked if we could have fresh milk which we did receive. After numerous attempts we asked for the bill and has you can imagine we didn't leave a tip. The icing on the cake was when we asked for our coats, only to be told by the quite rude maitre'd to go and get our own coats (My poor friends is 5ft nothing and could reach her coat) I was truly shocked. I am very sad to be writing the poor review but the poor service was something out of faulty towers (I use to work in management in hotels in London so I feel that I can see both sides) and whilst the restaurant was busy towards the end of the evening it was not busy when we arrived at 7pm. I really have to agreed with the poor reviews on here already. I will not be visiting again until maybe a change of staff/management

We booked this restaurant for my daughters 21st celebration. We have been here for many other celebrations as we know we will be well looked after. We were not disappointed. We were a party of 25 but the staff coped really well. Friendly, polite, patient. The food was good and plenty of it. We had a great time and will be back again soon!

My hubby suprised me with a visit to Spices Indian Restaurant and the experience we had made us want to return! We were greeted by friendly staff and served by a lovely young waitress who made us feel welcome with her warm personality and charm. Our surroundings were pleasant, warm and welcoming. We did not have to wait long at all before our starters came and the dips were delicious. After a short while our main course arrived and we were not disappointed. The flavours were superb and I particularly enjoyed the mushroom pilau rice.We were asked if everything was alright with the meal and it was! The restaurant was quite busy for a Monday evening which was good to see. Upon asking for the bill the gentleman was very pleasant and chatty. We found the whole experience faultless and will definitely be returning.

Stayed in Nottingham recently on business, and because this restaurant was in my sat nav i paid a visit, and what a great experience it was. Service was excellent, food was even better and all in a great, clean environment. Well done Spices.

A cosy restaurant well laid out and furnished. to a good standard. We had a variety of starters and mains and we were all impressed by the standard of cooking of the tasty dishes. The service however could have been described as too good - as soon as a glass was empty it had hardly had time to touch the table before a waiter pounced on it. Not a complaint really, just an observation which should not distract one from the great food being produced here.

We hadn't tried here for a while because we heard it had gone down hill, but decided to give it another try because of positive comments. Booked the table because it was a saturday night for 7.30 we got there just after was greeted with a smile and shown to our table it was very busy and they had quite large parties in which always sends alarm bells in my head but we didn't have to worry they took our drink orders straight away but left enough time for us to decide on our meal. We had poppudums and pickles plus the hot meat and tikka selection YUM!! The main came just the right amount of time after the starter and was delicious even though i couldn't finish mine only because I over estimated how hot it would be but still packed full of flavour the service was quick, efficent, and friendly. Great atmosphere and good value for money would recommend and return.

I go here regularly and the standards of food and service are always excellent. Its prices are what you would expect from a good Indian restaurant. The menu is wide-ranging but not overly-so and, having tried a wide range of things on there myself, I have not had a disappointing dish yet. It's a sign of a good restaurant when you're not worried about trying something new rather than playing safe. I can't recommend a visit highly enough.

A great evening with a party of 4 people who all thoroughly enjoyed the flavour and ambience that the restaurant provided. I often judge The food on the following nights sleep and this was fresh prepared food and left me with no brick in the tummy feeling. The food was exquisite and the price is reasonable. The service was professional, efficient and courteous throughout. Will definitely go again.

We eat here regularly. The food is always excellent and the staff really go out of their way to make sure we enjoy ourselves.

Been there a few times and we know Renu. Went there with the wife's family and 1 is not a fan of Indian food but Renu and Co worked really hard to make sure they had a good time and offered them samples of different bits.Quality food with fab people working there always polite and chatty

This was the first time we have visited this restruant, the overall experiance was good the staff were tentative but not what you would call friendly they asked before serveing each course if we were ready which was a good thing as sometimes you need a little more time between each course. We ordered five poppadoms and got eight the lime pikle was very nice starter and main courses followed the quality of the food was good the portions were of sufficient size. The beer was on the pricey side at £4.20 a pint but the wine was a reasonable price at circa £12.00 a bottle. We will give Spices another try in the future but there are other Indian restruants in the area that have the edge

I've eaten at spices restaurant many times and we've always had a good meal. Recently we had a takeaway and can confidently say it was the best dupiaza i'd ever had. So tasty. When we've eaten in the restaurant, the staff have always been really friendly and polite. There's always 4-5 of us eating when we go and every time, we all love our meals. Highly recommend and good value for money. The location isn't that great. Most people would have to travel by car, therefore, its never been that busy when we've been. Which is a shame. I hope they keep going.

Excellent Indian food, infact must be one of the best in Nottingham. Nice relaxed atmosphere, good food, good prices, great service.

this restaurant has to be one of the finest Indian eateries in the midlands ,we have been probably 5 times this year and every time they hit the mark , great service great food and great welcome, if your looking for Indian food in Nottingham make sure you give these folk a try you will not be disappointed and if you are its probably because you wanted Chinese but even then you will be happy you've ended up here

Really good portion sizes, early bird menu gives brilliant value for money, food served quickly and is always good quality.

Had a meal in Spices on a Friday evening and although we've had many many takeaways have only eaten there a couple of times the food was as good as it had always been they present and cook their menu to a consistently high standard and freshen their menu regularly very focussed on looking after their customers but for us a bit too much as we were asked 3 maybe 4 times how our meal was, apart from that it's somewhere I know we will return to many times in the future

Went on a date to this restaurant. i found that the atmosphere was pleasent and fstaff was friendly. both of us had starters which was delicious definatly reccmend the aloo chana chaat puree very tasty. i had the akbari tikka which i would definatly reccommed its a medium dish so not very spicy but with a lot of flavour definatly having that again. overall amazing experience definatly reccomed is a must go in nottingham.

Found this restaurant while searching on Google, on arrival it was a decent looking restaurant, as we entered it all started unfolding...1 no smile:(Gave us table of four first thing they did was clear wine glasses hahaThe server's name was mehndi..I will never forget his attitude... he didn't know what whiskey they sale?I found a spelling mistake on menu but I wasn't sure if it was Bangladeshi term reshni... so I asked the same gentleman to explain what it is? His answer was something amazing a small pieces of meat in tandoor Our starter were cold might have been microwaved because there was no juice left in any of the meat...so kingly the prawns were cold too. On complaining firstly they asked me 4 times are you sure it's cold... (why on earth someone complaint) after 15 mim he brought tandoori kabab on sizzler which wasn't the same before so what practice do you guys follow? No consistency atall.My main course we're average...but thank god it was bit hot.Except one of the chicken dish which was outstanding.The service was very poor the server spent more time flirting with other waitress. I would not recommend and will never go back.

Read a few reviews on here and decided to give it a go. We ordered poppadums and a starter, had literally just put our knife and fork down when the waitress came straight over to ask if we had finished to which I replied "just" as she cleared our plates. Main came which was pleasant enough but very average for the price again you felt like you were being watched and the staff were waiting for you to finish. We were asked twice if everything was okay all while in the middle of our main, made us feel on edge and uncomfortable and not relaxed at all. We didn't have pud as the 2 we wanted were off the menu. Didn't find the staff very warm but overly attentive, food average and overpriced. Could be a lovely place but needs more atmosphere, we were in and out in just over an hour, not really a night out! Would have loved to have made more of an evening of it but felt very rushed and uncomfortable probably won't go back again.

when we arrived the staff were very inviting but we felt like there was a rush to eat our food soon as we had the last fork full the plates were snatched away the waitress was watching us and waiting which made us feel very uncomfortable also we was constanly getting interupted it was very clear we was talking also the food was very disapointing the portions were very small and im not a massive eater but it would be nice to something for my money the main was only slightly bigger than starter all round we will defenatly not be going again

Always very helpful staff - welcoming and friendly. Great food at very reasonable prices and the wine is always priced very well.Great for small and large parties of people.

We went to Spices for a take away. The front staff was pleasant enough. But the food was very very ordinary for the price we paid. The lamb main course contained more chunky onions than the lame pieces! The quantity was just bit more than the starter too! We will not visit again.
