The best restaurants serving Indian food in England

First time ordering from here and wasn't disappointed. Food was great and portion size was ample. Delivery was a little late but what concerned me was I received a message saying my Food was delivered but on phoning the person who answered was very polite and apologetic and said it will be with me soon and it was. I will be ordering from here again

Our go-to spot! We’ve tried lots of places, but we keep coming back here—it’s just the best. My husband’s a picky eater, but he loves it every time. We’ve even tried different Indian restaurants, but nothing compares. The food is always delicious, the atmosphere is cozy, and the staff are fantastic. We’ve definitely become regulars.

Ayer llevé a mi pareja a Khai khai por su cumpleaños y toda la experiencia me pareció corta de regalo. La comida era buena pero el servicio era terrible, teníamos hasta 4 camareros diferentes quitando platos de nuestra mesa pero ninguno de ellos, ni la encargada, se nos acercó una vez para preguntarnos cómo estaba todo, si necesitábamos algo más, más bebidas, postres, etc. .. Finalmente después de esperar siglos tuvimos que pedir la factura nosotros mismos. Completamente ignorado durante toda la noche, diciendo que no nos lo tomamos como algo personal porque fuimos testigos de un mal servicio también ofrecido a las mesas que nos rodean. Definitivamente no volveremos, hay un montón de restaurantes en Newcastle que garantiza una buena experiencia gastronómica de un cliente, este no es uno de ellos me temo!

Update Christmas Eve 2024 Back in Swaffham visiting family. Went to one of our favourite restaurants anywhere to get a takeaway. Very, very busy given it was Christmas Eve, but no problem , order taken and the customary Cobra and red wine whilst waiting. A perfect Eve of Christmas. Long may this restaurant prosper. It most certainly deserves to!!!! Update March 2024. Back in Swaffham visiting family, back at Indian Summer for takeaway. Usual Cobra and red wine whilst waiting (part of the delight of the Indian Summer and our reason for not ordering online or by 'phone). The usual superb customer service and of course the superb food. Maybe we should convince them to open a "satellite restaurant" where we live in the far north of Scotland, we certainly need it. Would happily award more than 5 stars in all respects. Update August 2023. Back visiting family and a trip to get our favourite takeaway. As usual a glass of Cobra and a glass of red wine whilst waiting. The manager and his staff are superb and have first rate customer service skills. You are made to feel to be THE most important people in the restaurant. Excellent food, excellent service, very good pricing and generous portions make a meal from Indian Summer most desirable. No hesitation in recommending FIVE STARS in EVERY respect. See you next time we are down here. Update February 2023. Order placed, shown to a table to enjoy a superb pint of Cobra and a glass (large) of red wine to await our order. Made to feel that we were the most important customers in the restaurant. FIVE STAR SERVICE and when we got back to our relatives a FIVE STAR range of Indian dishes. Absolutely wonderful 🙂, how I wish we had a restaurant of this quality where we live in the far north of Scotland. Original comment 2021. Delicious take away meal prepared swiftly with skill and care - particularly loved the vegetable samosas and lamb bhuna

Popped in for a takeout and was very quick, food was good, very hot madras sauce and beautifully tender lamb, I don't know if I was misheard when ordering or if the kitchen got it wrong but I asked for a mushroom baji but received mushroom rice but was nice anyway and my garlic nan was decent. I was warned before ordering the menu prices were out of date and it would be a little more than on the menu but was still reasonably priced so didn't mind. Staff were very friendly and polite. Shame about the cheesy pop music playing in the restaurant would be nice if they played some modern Bangra.

Sensational food, meat is melt in your mouth and flavours are insane. The curries, rice and poppadom pickles are so nice as is the keema naan. We ordered a korma and a vindaloo chicken curry and both the mild and the spicy were equally delicious and so flavoursome. We are regulars to this restaurant for a reason, can’t fault their food. Highly recommend as the best Indian in the area.

Always have a takeaway here when visiting the new forest. Not had a bad meal. Recommended the garlic chilli chicken!

Amazing food, we got 2 platters and it was plenty of food for 4 adults and 3 kids. The staff Samy and Moiz were very friendly and went out of their way to make us comfortable. Samy made us the best mocktails! We will definitely be coming back again. Highly recommend all to visit this hidden gem in luton.

Not sure where to start, waited a long time for drinks to arrive and told they never had what we ordered so placed a 2nd order, waited even longer and had to ask again for our drinks. I ordered a butter chicken and not sure what arrived, I know it was warm with a skin over the top where it had been sat under a warming lamp. It certainly wasn’t like any other butter chicken I had eaten before, more like a korma. The chapati I ordered arrived after I had finished my meal. I don’t get any pleasure in writing this but it was the worst “ curry” I have ever had and will certainly not be returning.

We went for a takeaway. Popped in earlier to enquire whether or not they were able to cook some food that was dairy free for our son. Normally Indian restaurants can’t or won’t do this.at this Indian restaurant they immediately helped us so we came for a takeaway and it was excellent. My boy had his first curry for a long time and he really enjoyed it. Thank you to all the team at the Indian restaurant. This is the first bad review I've ever left because I felt the need to. I placed an order via JustEat. Estimated delivery time was 50 minutes. 50 minutes later, the app said by order had been delivered, but it hadn't. I waited in the street for a delivery driver and checked my phone for any messages or missed calls. Nothing. I called the restaurant directly and was immediately hung up on. Another hour later and still no food. I never received my order and received a refund from JustEat instead. Avoid ordering with them if you're using a food delivery service.
