Where to start... What a fantastic experience. Upon arrival I did not need to give my name. My wife had pre told the restaurant it was my birthday and a bottle of my favourite Rioja and Prosecco were waiting at the table for me. The food was out of this world. The best Tandoori mixed grill We shared, it just melted in the mouth and was cooked to perfection. The restaurant even arranged cake for my birthday. A very special mention to Tipu who was my waiter for the evening, nothing was too much trouble and the attention to detail was amazing.He told us he had just started that week but you would never have guessed it. I will definitely return and already can't wait. Thank you for an amazing 30th Birthday :)

Lovely place to eat in or get takeaway from. Friendly trained staff and the traditional menù is so good I tend to try different meals each time and it's always top quality stuff thank you for making the place so wonderful .

Why does this restaurant have 4.2 rating out of 5? I went for dinner with my friends today. Once sat down, Mr. Mehboob came with the menu and while deciding, this man comes back to ask if we’re ready. We asked for little more time as it was our first time there. He came again and tried to rush our order which was very disrespectful and disturbing for me. He was very arrogant while talking with us. We also ordered coke and it was not sparking fresh. We had to call Mr. Mehboob again to replace and he was again very rude about it. Food was alright, not very good. Surprisingly, we were the only people in the restaurant. Overall, my experience was very bad here. Will never go back to a place like this again where waiters have no sense of talking to customers and think that they can treat however they want. I wanted a nice relaxing dinner and all I got was disappointment. Will never recommend anyone to go there.

They do not a clue how to cook Tandoori chicken, they gave me 2 small pieces of roast chicken & the lamb Madras was beef, service awful!! We will never go back!!

Super restaurant, nice staff and lots of choice on many. Visited on a quiet night so had attentive service to a large group.

I cannot recommend this place enough. The staff are so welcoming and extremely attentive all throughout your dining experience. Such little touches go such a long way and they go that extra mile in food presentation and ambiance. Food is divine and you really get what you pay for. Will 100% be dining there again.

Avoid at all cost! A ripp off- we ordered some popadamus and dips, we received one dip tray which has: onions- chutney- yogurt and spicy. We were a family of 4, 2 boys aged 12 and 4 myself amd my husband. In the bill they charges us £3.50 * 4 = 14 for dips?? How is that possible. Popadamus were charges separately! I asked tje waiter who was very rude, and gave no logical explanation! Read your bills please!

Food was great, we had a large group of twenty and the food came out in fairly good time. Service was good, friendly staff.

Ordered a takeaway tonight and it was completely wrong. My husband ordered garlic chilli chicken and was given a Rojan Josh with tomatoes which he doesn’t like. I ordered king prawn bhuna, which was suppose to come with a thick sauce, however it was smothered in a film of oil which I had to drain and the sauce was all watery. Also they never put in any mango chutney or extra onion which we paid for. I rung them and explained this and they said there was nothing they could do. £46 later and we never had the meal we asked for and the service was not good at all.

Great food, definitely when you come on a Tuesday or Wednesday Night with the deal. Will be my go-to Indian in Chelmsford. Highly recommend.

I have been here before but on this occasion the food was not great. The chicken was tough and tasteless. Comparing this restaurant to the Vojan in Ongar it was disappointing

Regular guest since opening and always happy with a decent meal that’s consistent! Personal preference, but I always prefer to eat in the restaurant and not have the takeaway. Maybe that’s because I enjoy a draft cobra…?! 👌🏼😂 Would highly recommend the Murghi masala with green chilli and the paneer tikka main! Very very nice 😊 😘

Brilliant food, great selection and attentive staff. Chicken noorjahani was on point with the spices and flavour but my personal favourite would always be the chicken 65. Highly recommend in Chelmsford.

Amazing lunch! We had the set menu and it was amazing, everything was made to perfection. It was our anniversary so they even gave us a cake at the end to celebrate! Would recommend 100%

Oh dear , second time and have to say the last. Both times the meal was ok nothing special but some of the waiters very very rude. You get the impression they are doing you a favour and not there to serve you as a paying guest. A busy restaurant that cannot cope when full. Better restaurants in Chelmsford in my opinion that appreciate your custom.

They call it indian foods (lol), Poor service, no welcome, no kids friendly, very low ceiling. If you are fan of Indian foods, you must avoid this place

Disappointing, abrupt, rude and unwelcoming on arrival. Not even a smile! Food is greasy, chicken over cooked, it was a struggle to cut with a knife! Bland curries, boring. Left that texture feeling in your mouth afterwards. Rice and prawn purée was nice. Presentation ok as well. Naan bread very good. I think the rudeness of the staff is the worst I’ve ever experienced in a restaurant. It made the whole experience horrible. Thing that’s frustrating is that my partner and I haven’t eaten at an Indian restaurant in years, I’m talking over 10 years, and then we had that. Urgh! Also sort out the slippery sloped floor.

There was more water in my food than meat I had to drain that out , hardly any meat , I have ordered Indian food every Sunday for years this was by far the worst I’ve had in that time !!!!

Had a takeaway from here tonight after our 'go to' place mysteriously went downhill. The food was superb, well cooked and full of flavour. Now have a new go to Indian 😁

Ordered our take away at 5pm waited until 18.34pm for it to be delivered the food was cold the delivery driver was rude the manager was arrogant and equally rude.

The Seven Elephants is on the Dine app offering 2 for 1 meals Sunday to Thursday. This is not the case. We entered the restaurant this evening and they told us it’s not a deal they offer. The restaurant was empty, we walked across the road to the very busy Bilash and got their 2 for 1 deal. Seven elephants take your restaurant off the Dine app!!!

An elegant restaurant and excellent food. The recipe for a good Indian is strictly followed here. Swish decor, napkins and linen. The food was good. We managed to get a table without a prior booking but the restaurant was very busy. Wonderful aroma and sounds of sizzling dishes being delivered to tables. Our food was great and we were happy. Nothing out of the ordinary but a great restaurant nevertheless.

We’ve just had a takeaway delivered and the quality of food is shocking. The curries are extremely watered down to the point where we couldn’t use plates and the meat is rubbery and tasteless. Popadoms are stale and the naan bread is was disgusting. £50 on a meal for two and we could have got a better tasting ready meal. So disappointing

The food and service were excellent. The onion bahjis were light and fresh, the king prawn shashlick was extremely good.

We visited on the 27th August on time for our booking with friends. Drinks ordered but they had run out of non alcoholic beer! We waited 1hr 20 mins for our order to be taken and then when food arrived only mains turned up, starters had been forgotten and saag aloo was cold! No offer of coffee or desserts Understaffed, such a shame as food was quite nice, others were complaining too

Booked a table here for 7pm on a Saturday and appreciate they are probably getting ready for a busy night but the whole experience was incredibly rushed. Soon as we sat down we were asked by a surly waiter how many popadoms we wanted, which were unceremoniously dumped on the table. Immediately asked what we wanted to eat and felt rushed to make a decision. The food came out very quickly (10 minutes tops) and the remaining popadom and condiments removed. We were in and out in 40 minutes. However, the food was nice enough (butter chicken a bit watery) and good value, though we’d usually share a rice but the portion of rice was very small so I’d suggest ordering one for each person. Would probably visit again but maybe not for a special occasion (partners birthday).

Always a good experience at Seven Elephants. Good service and nice atmosphere. My favourite on the menu is Gurkha Jingha, a prawn dish, which is exquisite. I normally have this with Pilau Rice and other side dishes. My favourite restaurant in Chelmsford.

Shocking! The worst thing I’ve ever had delivered. Rubber chicken in spicy water. Ordered a chicken Madras and a chicken tikka masala, sauce was so runny and thin, watery with no flavour. Madras was watery, no flavour sitting in oil. Even the Naan was like rubber

Extremely disappointed with my meal tonight . This meal was delivered within timescales which was great . However the food was cold and had to be heated . Upon heating the lamb vindaloo it was extremely watery which made me wonder if it had been frozen and heated before delivery . The butter chicken was not of good quality either . This restaurant had been recommended by a friend who had eaten at the restaurant and was really pleased with the quality of food . The delivery food did not appear to be consistent with the stand rates of the restaurant food unfortunately ! I won’t be having a take away from this restaurant again sadly !

Best Indian in Chelmsford. I have tried several others but this does stand out for quality of food. Everything was really well cooked and not overly greasy or inconsistently hot like in some other places. Top notch.

One of the waiter asked me to order extra food and waste it just going by the logic that the table cost has to be covered and one has to order one main dish for each person even when we ordered two side dishes along with one main dish for the order. Its plainly unethical and not acceptable.

I came here because of the website review, and I'll be honest, this is the best Indian restaurant in Chelmsford that I've ever visited. The food was excellent, and the service was also excellent. The people of Woking were really courteous, which added to the experience. I really urge everyone to see this location.

I tried this takeaway based on the reviews, I wish I had stuck to my local instead. Food arrived luke warm at best, both curry’s full of water and bland so possibly frozen. Got charged for delivery and the driver couldn’t even bring it up the stairs. I’ve had better tasting curry’s from Tesco. Safe to say I will not be returning

Had a delivery menu through our door today, so ordered this evening a meal for delivery. Wow, it was delicious, easily the best Indian food in Chelmsford. Tasted amazing, arrived in reasonable time, this is now our regular Indian restaurant. Plenty on offer for me as a veggie too not just something cobbled together 10/10

Amazing experience thanks to the knowledgeable and friendly staff ! Great selection of wine . The food is outstandingly delicious with attention to detail. The Chicken Noorjahani and the Jhal highly recommend.

OK three stars is a bit weak, but the service was slow, they got the order wrong and the peshwari naan was dripping in butter. That said - the food was otherwise excellent and the prices fair. Good decor and fair prices. Could have gone for a 4 star review, but slight errors make big differences.

Where do I begin, from the food to the quality to the service all 5 stars, had a great experience where the waiters made sure I had eaten plenty. I usually don't go for seconds but I had to order three time because the food was that good. No complaints whatsoever and can't wait for my magical experience again.

Top number 1 Indian restaurant in Chelmsford without a doubt. Owner was very welcoming and friendly. Food was delicious couldn’t fault anything. Highly recommend their tikka masala !! I must say their portions for the main was huge, worth the money you’re spending honestly. The waiter kindly gave us takeaway boxes which was great. Highly recommend their fresh ground coffee it was too good! They were very busy but we got seated quick and the service was fast. I’m definitely going back there for sure!

My girlfriend had a bad stomach ache & felt sick late in the evening, and my food was bland and tasteless, I threw mine straight in the bin.

Currently our favourite Indian restaurant, the food is delicious and there is a great choice of vegetarian dishes. Beautifully decorated with a lovely atmosphere and helpful staff. Gets rather busy at the weekend so I would recommend going during the week.

The food we chose was astonishingly good! The first bite to the last was extremely enjoyable. I ordered Murgh Mara Jhul and my partner had Tandoori Chicken with garlic naan and coconut rice to share. The atmosphere was cosy, low lit and every table had immaculately folded napkins on each plate upon entering. When the food was brought out the tandoori chicken was still sizzling! The waiter we had was very kind and left us to ourselves, while also ensuring to be close by if we had any queries or needs. We received hot towels after (in photo) to freshen up, an After Eight mint as well as a delicious creamy shot on the house! (Baileys, Sambuca and Strawberry Syrup). Thank you Seven Elephants for a wonderful experience!

Wow best Indian takeaway I've had in Chelmsford in a while! Top tasting and quality food. Will definitely be visiting for a sit down meal when things open again.

We have used Seven Elephants for takeaway food a few times during and since lockdown and it is the best Indian food we have ever had, either takeaway or visiting in person. Really well cooked and looking forward to visiting the restaurant as well when life becomes a bit more normal.

My Partner and I had been searching online for a dine in Indian restaurant all afternoon when we stumbled across Seven Elephants. The service was very good, the restaurant was busy but well spaced out with a good atmosphere. We had several large kingfisher beers - reasonably priced. I had a king prawn dish which was delicious - the prawns were huge! The portion sizes were just right, meaning you weren’t completely stuffed on leaving. My Partner had a dish with ‘3 chillis’ to indicate the spice level - they were lying! It was very hot but delicious. I would highly recommend Seven Elephants and we will be going back soon!

Phoned up for Tastecard booking on 24/08/2020 and booked a table. Food was nice but said they do not take tastecard when bill came even though I showed them the app with them on Tastecard. I mentioned Tastecard booking when reserving table. Be warned as they use Tastecard website to draw you in and then charge full price. Now in process of getting 50% refund via Tastecard or if that fails, small claims court. Never again and not sure how the law allows for places like this to operate. Con artists and also do not do eat out to help out.

Had another brilliant takeaway from here last night. Every dish was good. I had chilli chicken which was particularly good. Also excellent customer service. We’d had a problem with the starters on our online order which was put right without any difficulty. Would recommend for their food and excellent customer service.

THE BEST takeaway in Chelmsford bar none. Possibly the best curry I've ever had. Haven't ever had anything bad and visited at least a dozen times.

Wasnt sure on where to go but took the chance and had one of the best Indians I've had!. Food piping hot on arrival said 45 mins arrived 35!
