I ordered the Stake and Ale pie and it was amazing. The portion sizes were amazing, absolutely huge also a chocolate brownie which came with ice cream and honeycomb. The owners is amazing and a great laugh. It was amazing service and the food was out of the world. I highly recommend.
This is my fifth time in the last month ordering Kaani Kaana. The quality of food is impeccable especially considering it is a take away not a restaurant. The staff having been extremely welcoming from the first time I have entered. I have recommend to all my friends and family and believe the prices are extremely cheap for what you get.
Lovely restaurant with lovely authentic, fresh food
Good choice & all well presented
Great friendly staff who are helpful too
Thank you for again fabulous meal
Fantastic pre booked afternoon tea of cakes and sandwiches with plain scones . Originally booked for 4 people but extra person came as well and as we had let them know the day before it was sorted out fine.
The food was lovely and so much for £12.95 a head.
Service was excellent and very efficient. Would definitely book again.
I really want to like this place but feel the service is letting it down - although looking at other reviews, we might be an anomaly.
We had reserved a table and ours was the last table free - a good sign. But after we had been seated, it took over 20 minutes for anyone to come to take our order, and even then it was only after we attracted attention. Obviously we could see that the restaurant was full, but the staff didn't seem like they were rushed or short-staffed, and were being very attentive to other tables around us.
When we were placing our orders, we asked if the house wine - listed on the menu by the glass only - was available as a bottle, to which we were told it was. But when we asked for a bottle of the house red, the waitress said, 'Oh no, only rose or white.' Bit confusing and frustrating, but we were still able to order 2 glasses.
After that service did speed up a bit and the food came out at a reasonable interval, beautifully presented and delicious. We decided we wanted to order a dessert, but once again we had to flag someone down to request a menu.
I'm not sure if we were in a blind spot, or if there was a mix up over who was meant to be serving us, or that we booked for a bad time, but the service did mar the experience for us. The staff were all polite enough, but we felt forgotten and like we'd inconvenienced them when we drew their attention. It's a shame because the food is so good and the chef is so friendly, and clearly loves his work. I'm not going to say I'll never be back but I have been put off.
I would highly recommend a visit to this fantastic restaurant. It was our first visit and we shall certainly be back soon to try the highly rated Sunday lunch. The staff are also very friendly and attentive to the customers needs. Well worth the visit 👌👍
We have just had a fully loaded pizza and it was delicious, I would highly recommend trying one of their pizzas and will definitely be back. Perfect with a beer 🍺
I absolutely adore this little gem of a coffee shop, and best of all it’s dog friendly. A lovely selection of food/ pastries etc and great selection of teas and coffees. The doggies also have a great selection to choose from - my boy loves the doggie sausage! The staff are friendly and polite, and always greet with a smile. The cafe is always clean (apart from the daily muddy paws - totally acceptable) and there is a customer toilet too.
We love sitting outside whatever the weather as the awning keeps us dry / shaded and some mornings you can get a beautiful sunrise.
We were passing by the stall and my son asked if he could try Caribbean food for the first time so we made a spontaneous stop. We tried a takeaway portion of jerk chicken & rice mixed with a bit of BBQ to tone down the spice for my young daughter who was also keen to try. It was fantastic! Their first try definitely won't be the last!

Maura's Bakery has the tri-factor of having amazing food, incredible value and wonderful service. I visited this weekend with my husband, three year old and one year old and they couldn't have been more accommodating. The food was everything I could have wished for and I am unbelievably jealous my husband works in Chelmsford now I've under covered this gem as it means he can have amazing lunchtime treats. Our marriage is dependent on the doggy bags he brings home! Thank you again for the food but also for your warm hosting. After eating here once I can easily say it's my favourite place to eat in Essex.
My black Americano and toasted fruit bread was perfect. I was part of a group of eight on a Saturday and we were made welcome and had a comfortable, enjoyable visit. Will be going back this week.
HUDSONS cafe has fantastic coffee, wonderful homemade cakes and a warm welcoming friendly staff.
It’s my favourite place to go for a relaxing chat and refreshments.
I walked in off the street and was met with a lovely greeting from the owner and staff. I sat at a table and was immediately made to feel welcome. There was a good atmosphere and everyone was friendly. The food was delicious and the coffee too. I must say I was full up by the time I left.
I would recommend Starvin' Marvin to my friends.
