Starvin’ Marvin in Chelmsford

I walked in off the street and was met with a lovely greeting from the owner and staff. I sat at a table and was immediately made to feel welcome. There was a good atmosphere and everyone was friendly. The food was delicious and the coffee too. I must say I was full up by the time I left. I would recommend Starvin' Marvin to my friends.

Fantastic little find on the off chance and so glad we did. Great space abs staff and a good little menu. Cakes were yummy and sundaes amazing. Couldn’t fault it. Will try something else when we go again.

Their cakes! Just wow. I’ve had their already prepared cakes and loved one so much I had a large one made for a birthday. Absolutely delicious! I also regularly visit for lunches and they never disappoint. Highly recommend.

A visit here today was a great experience, fantastic fresh food and delicious ice cream sundaes. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. Highly recommended.

This is a fab little cafe which caters for all tastes, diet and options. Great waffles and sundaes for treat days. Fresh cakes and cheesecakes every day - yummy! Great quality sandwiches and panini's. Slimming world friendly hot options - I quite often have the chilli 3/4 days in a row. The meal deals are great value. I have also use Starvin Marvin for corporate platters at work and people remark on the quality of food during meetings. Also Donna and Danny who run the place are the nicest people, they remember customers favourites. I can text in the morning to reserve a portion of chilli if I can't get out of work till later to ensure my favourite lunch is still available. This truly is a gem of a place - visit. You will not be disappointed.

This wasn’t my first trip to this little gem, tucked away at the bottom of Broomfield Rd. Anyone visiting Chelmsford by train won’t have to walk far to find it, it’s out of the back of the station and a couple of hundred yards then turn right and it will certainly be worth the trip. I had a flat white and a piece of rocky road cheesecake, served by the very likeable husband and wife team; Danny and Donna (who also owns the posh kids clothes shop next door). The speciality cakes change daily as they’re all freshly made, and so does the music, with a cd/artist of the day playing in the background. The decor is simple and the place is super-clean, eat in or out or take away meal deals available for those on their lunch break.

This place is wonderful the atmosphere is perfect friendly welcoming pleasant & the food has to be sampled from deserts to savoury it’s out of this world all home cooked onsite local produce fresh tasty and generous portions across the board and amazing value for money even the drinks are cheaper than most corner shops I’m a regular as often as I can always welcomed with a smile and a friendly hello going onto friendly conversation even a jovial banter if that’s your type of thing you have to try the menu from the hot chocolate made with actual chocolate and cream to the fresh made waffles and ice cream and homemade curry chilli salads rice jackets panini sandwiches fresh cut local bread sandwiches it’s all amazing please try it out treat yourself bring the kids oh & you’re dog if you want there also dog friendly

Donna and Danny deserve huge success, as they work so hard and are always cheerful. The cakes and cheesecakes are all amazing and made using the best ingredients. There is plenty of choice for sales, sandwiches etc. The music in the shop is always great. Every time i enter through the metal fly chains on the door, I want to yell "Tonight Matthew I'm going to be ....."!! Only if you are a certain age, will you understand that!! Love the ice creams too!

You simply have to visit Starvin' Marvin. The quality, the value for money and the choices are all incredible! Having said that, the most incredible part of Starvin' Marvin are Donna and Danny, the owners. Such lovely people who cannot do enough for you. Be prepared to be full when you leave!

Fabulous place. Amazing freak shakes, milk shakes, hot chocolate, rocky road.....a real treat for children and adults. Tip......go straight after school, more chance of availability.

Took the kids in for an ice cream, LOVED IT!!! Lots to choose from gawjus cakes to choose from milk shake to die for, staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming cant wait to go back!!!

I've been following Starvin'Marvin for some time on Facebook. The ingredients going into their puddings looked to die for. I saw a post for banana puddings and missed out the first time round as they were so popular. Secret ingredients? Well, I needed it. Second time the post went up, I went to this hidden gem of a dessert shop. This was honestly the best pudding I have ever tasted. Everything looked clean and welcoming and I can't wait for more to be made. Definitely worth a visit if you have a sweet tooth!

Top class stuff. Almost naughty with how good it is... Gimme gimme gimme. It's almost enough to make me forget I'm only one person I want to eat so much in there....

What I like about this place is that you can pre-order lunch through facebook messenger! It was ready on time and it was so delicious! A decent sized pot of chilli and cheese, I will definitely be back for some more!! Would recommend!! Staff are so lovely and friendly too!

We had a half hour break at work to sit in the sunshine and grab an ice cream and with this fab place just around the corner from work it's a dream!! Yummy crunchie ice cream sundae! Staff are lovely and so so friendly, service was great! Ice cream amazing!!!!

Went to Starvin Marvin just for something small to eat before an appointment, service was so fast, amazing food and the man who served us (from other reviews I am assuming he is Danny) was so lovely and really knows good customer service! They've got something for everyone and I would 100% recommend to anyone visiting or local to Chelmsford.

Visited on Saturday with friends. The proprietors Donna & Danny are great fun and great chef’s. Their prices are fab and the is food amazing.
