Been here a number of times, and staff are always friendly and welcoming. Normally, for tea or coffee but the food they serve looks good.

As the name suggests, small cafe off of the main drag, lovely coffee and good service.

As most people have put reviews regarding the breakfasts I’d like to add, im yet to try them. however their pie and mash is spot on. Proper old London cafe style and the chilli vinegar is excellent! Been meaning to pop back in when I’m in Chelmsford again

I can be pretty picky with my food, I can't stand soggy, stoggy old food, and this place was on point and perfect! I will certainly be back!!!! Fantastic crispy chips freshly cooked to order, with a wonderful chicken mayo burger, and a cappuccino made with half the milk swapped for water, personalised, delicious and couldn't ask for better!!! Staff are lovely and charming, soft music in the background and everything is clean and bright. Will certainly tell everyone that this is the place to go to eat!

Best breakfast in Chelmsford, simples. I’m a well toured full English connoisseur and hands down it’s up there! The staff are more than welcoming and the food is great value for your money! P.S. please don’t take my window seat on a Saturday morning, it’s reserved 😉

I can confirm this business is not over priced, if don't believe me try the over cafés around town..we are regular customers and pop twice a week for either breakfast or lunch..Memmit always gives us a warm welcome. First rate food at a reasonable price and cooked to order

Could have got a 5 for the food, but the eggs were not free range and had a really milky look, not like a nice yellow middle that you get with free range. Apart from that all good otherwise.

Well over priced and very small portions, ordered scrambled eggs on 2 toast, barely enough egg for 1 slice of toast, mushrooms deep fried, could only taste the oil, £1.30 for two thin slices of tomato. 2 sausages and a glass of fresh Orange juice £11.50

Friendly local cafe. Good typical British cafe menu. Good friendly service with spotlessly clean tables. Seems like a lot of regulars there too which is a good sign.

A real treasure, food is great and consistent, great value, and I keep coming back as the server I think is called Memet, he is a real credit and asset to this business and is absolutely amazing, so friendly and nothing is to much trouble, And he remembers you and what you have previously order, and makes you feel wanting to go back. Service like this is rare now. Would 100% recommend a visit

Ordered 2 special breakfasts and paid 50p extra for a latte coffee. Been here once before and the food was delicious and I can say that it was delicious once again! Very affordable cafe and great customer service. Thank you 😊

Lived in Chelmsford for 15 years but only ended up trying this place a few months back out of curiosity. I will cheerfully kick myself forever more for not having been here years before - both service and food are absolutely superb. Our family is three veggies plus one meat eater and no problem to have a lovely meal here whatever your personal setup. There are the usual 'breakfasts' on the menu but the staff are more than happy for you to chop and change what they come with plus other options like ham, egg and chips (which my youngest absolutely loved) and sandwiches, toasted if you fancy. The menu is best described as 'traditional' and done superbly well and with high quality ingredients. There's no shortage of cafes and restaurants in the middle of town that do breakfast/brunch offerings but despite the expensive, modern looking facades and menus, seem to be staffed by disinterested owners and kids working them who can't even get a coffee right. Eat here for a fraction of the price, leave stuffed and happy and wish you'd also tried it sooner.

Found myself at 8am in Chelmsford with an hour to kill before my appointment, busting for the loo and desperate for a decent cuppa. Stumbled across this unassuming café by chance, ordered poached eggs and tea. Perfectly cooked eggs, tea in a Pyrex cup (not seen those in a while) but tasted great. Service was effective today, polite and attentive without being ingratiating. Great start to my day.

Have to admit we went here when Wetherspoons couldn't serve breakfast until late morning. We were in Chelmsford for 5 mornings and ate here for 4 of them. Excellent choice, very reasonable price, delicious food and very friendly service. Thank you

Went there two days in a row while visiting Chelmsford. Firstly, spotlessly clean. Went to the counter and ordered a small breakfast: Egg, sausage, bacon, hash brown and bread and butter. Beans was on the menu but I was offered an extra egg on day 1 ans an extra hash brown on day 2 as I don't like baked beans. The sausage was a proper sausage: Cumberland and not the cheap one you can get from cash and carrys. Everything was cooked very well and was just right for what I wanted. However, the very best part was the tea. Served in a good sized mug but with a saucer and spoon, a separate jug of milk and a dish for the tea bag. Why can't other places do the same? It is not difficult or expensive and it just makes a meal so much better.

Tasty food, cozy environment, friendly staff and affordable prices! Will definitely come back.

This is a cracking little cafe. Expect slightly higher prices, which are forgivable because they seem to use quality ingredients, none of those filthy "cafe sausages" here. Friendly staff, decent food, reasonable prices. I'll be going again.

Had a lovely meal here yesterday lunchtime. The gammon steak was lovely & soft & my wife's baked potato was cooked to perfection. Also the cappuccino was really nice. Good prices & excellent range of food choices. We will use again in the future.

Very friendly, very clean, food lovely. Tucked away in a side street with small entrance, I nearly missed it! Varied cafe menu. I had egg and bacon sandwich in white bread and a cup of tea. Milk comes in little jug. Also given a little container to put teabag in. Definitely worth a visit.

I had the big breakfast but I wanted to make a couple changes, that was no issue for these guys. they were very friendly and helpful. Will be returning again

Popped in this morning at 8.15am. Pleased to see cafe open. A warm welcome, as I was the 2nd customer of the day. They have just reopened after COVID-19 closure. Food arrived quickly and was very good, plus a reasonable price. All COVID measures in place, including signing in.

This place is great with a real friendly staff.They sever the best pie and mash around. All the staff are so welcoming and extremely friendly and actually want to talk to their customers and engage in conversations which is wonderful.

We love this place and we return time and time again. If your the type of person who only enjoys free range, hand raised, organic, vegan hummus this is not the place for you!However if you like a well cooked, simple menu. Made with quality ingredients and lots of choice that does exactly what it says on the tin. Severed by fantastic, friendly and accommodating staff then this is where you need to be.

Called in for a coffee before going to the cinema. Nice friendly team of people, good coffee at a reasonable cost and it is obviously a place that is used by regulars

This is a small family run café, but there is nowhere in town that beats it for good, freshly cooked, honest proper food and great customer service. We are regular visitors and Miriam & Mehmet greet us by name, as they do many of their customers. They are happy to amend anything on the menu to accommodate your preferences, or let you make your own selection, something you would never get in a "chain" café. All very reasonably priced too. Best bit - Miriam makes by far the best cappuccino coffee in town!!!!

Been to many cafes shamefully. But do find that this place is a tad overpriced from over places I've been and fairly small portions, hence only 1 rash of bacon on the plate which is rare. If your hungry best give it a miss.
