Bonoful Indian Takeaway in Chelmsford

What a quality.... So delicious the authentic taste of sweets, piajoo, Jilapee..... We took 4 kg for my place Devon. We will come again to have meal at Banoful. A. Sohel

Item missing from order. When called - not a lot of concern from the colleaugue. Feebly said about sending the item about but already seemed decided on offering a refund instead. Refund has not been received.

I order a meal from this take away. Had some little dumpy fella call my a lier when I told him he had tried to over charge me. To add insult to injury half the dishes weren't there and food tasted all the same.

I have been here a couple of times since the place changed hands and the food here has really improved a great deal. The food tastes home cooked to order and by a chef who cares about what they are doing. The man serving the customers is a really nice friendly chap and is really accommodating if they are having a buay period. I hope you find this review helpful and that you give this place a try. They deserve your business and you will not be disappointed.

my meal was smashing . never oily. great tasting. Clean and tidy. i always have great meals and nothing better when served with a friendly face.

I've been using Bonoful as my go-to Indian Take away for years now. Through 3 moves infact. They're always reliable to be good, but sometimes they reach superb status. My husband and I ordered a delivery for valentines day. They said it would take about an hour (which was a little more than usual, but expected on certain celebratory days)

Do not know if bonoful has a new chef but bitterly disappointed with my takeaway tonight. Waited a while but not a problem as we usually enjoy a lovely meal. I had a chicken korma usually has lots of chicken but not this one. Sauce was suspect, very watery and thin. Other dishes not up to the usual standards. Put me off ordering there again. Shame

Been using for a number of years and I have never had a bad meal. The consistency is excellent. Food is well cooked, excellent portions and full of flavour. There was a delivery issue with an accident and communication was excellent. Thank you! I would highly recommend as the best Indian Takeaway in Chelmsford.

lamb was very tough and the nann bread tasted of flour.

Chicken was tough as old boots but ate it as it tasted nice, but regretted it soon after as was really poorly with d & v ...has put me off from ordering again.

I opted to keep deal and dansak. Dansak was forgotten but called up and the boss i think delivered it himself!!!

didn't get all the stuff we ordered it was exactly on time which was good, my daughter had chicken that was very chewy and was like rubber and I got different things of what I ordered normally order from here and is really good but won't be anymore

Only received half portions for a set menu which wasn't stated. When I phoned and complained I was sent another half portion and asked to pay for it! Never again!

It was pretty average. The rice was dry and the onion bhajis were really really dry and crispy. Chicken was ok could of been a bit more flavour in the sauce. It was average and so I wouldn't rush back.

The food was without any salt. Chicken tikka masala is an spicy dish while the one given to me was sweet. Colllection time was stated 8:10 pm and when I reached there to pick the food, I have to wait for another 25 minutes. Not going there to order the food.

Eurgh! Curries were both watery and horrible. I ordered mango chutney expecting to get Poppadom free since my order value was high. So I've got a wasted pot of chutney. Won't be ordering with these people again

We started using Bonoful when our closet Indian takeaway went downhill and we would not go anywhere else. The delivery is a real bonus for us as many don't deliver out to our village. The service and food are both fabulous and the discount offered for collection is also great when we have time to collect. The food is always delicious and hot and the welcome is warm whthe that's when we collect or when delivered and the owner always knows and remembers who we are . Have recommend Dec and would continue to do so.

Food ok and reasonably priced but had better. However the delivery time really lets this place down. Order placed with delivery time 45 mins later, only to be delayed by 25 mins shortly afterwards and food finally arrived another 40 mins after that. Won't be using again.

Terrible customer service ! Asked to have the meal for 7.15 and turned up at 6.45 when I wasn't home .... they forgot my popadoms so I phone them to then be told it doesn't include popadoms which is rubbish as I had the menu infront of me Very rude service

Average curry. Shame we didn't get any popadoms as most give these for free with your meal.

Ordered mango chutney for the popadoms, never came... Ordered a keema Nan, I got, what seemed like a vegetable pancake... Chicken was dry. Last time I'm ever ordering from here, prob best to steer clear of this place. Not the first time my order is not complete!

Food came late.Wrong drink.Eyelash in the food and entire night spent throwing up after !!!!! Socking.

Tasty food, although there were tinned carrots in the vegetable dish. Sadly there was some sort of mix up with the delivery and we got the wrong meal. Had to wait for a second delivery. The staff were very abrupt on the phone, to the point of rudeness. The delivery driver did apologise, so perhaps the team back at the restaurant could learn some manners from him.

I have been using this place for years. Food is always excellent quality, hot and on time. Staff are wonderfully friendly and I would highly recommend. Use this place around once a week.

Meat thali is great food for great value and always turns up piping hot. Meats always cooked to perfection. Always order form here and purposely nowhere else. Great service.

I ordered 2 portions of Bhaji's only one was sent, and I've then spent the rest of the evening running to and from the toilet!!!!! Normally such a nice place, won't be ordering here anymore!

Beautiful food, filled us up a treat. The only reason it wasn't full marks on the food is because my naan was a little soggy but otherwise would highly recommend

Ordered a takeaway through hungry house, waited over 90 mins and nothing had arrived - spoke to some guy called Sam who didn't have a clue what he was doing. Said there was no order. Was told manager would call me in 5 mins - never did Called hungry house who said the restaurant was lying as they accepted the order and even adjusted the delivery time - still not received a call from manager, did not even get an apology - awful

The food quality was fine, but it was only luke-warm rather than hot, probably because it was so late arriving. Upon ordering at 7:10pm we were told to expect delivery around 7:55. Shortly after this time was amended to 8:20. Frustratingly our food didn't arrive until gone 9pm. We will try again as everyone deserves a second chance, but I hope that the service is faster next time around.

Talented chefs...always consistently quality tasting food. Wouldn't go anywhere else....cant recommend enough.

Good food as always , but a long delivery time , orderd at 1845 , then restaurant added 25 min to the delivery time so should have been delivered at 1910 , the food finally arrived at 1935 .

An hour later than we were told. It was cold. Not all the order was delivered. I would recommend this to my enemies, not my friends.

Really disappointed. Have used bonoful several times a year since 2007 and never have they blatantly lied. Original delivery time posted as hour (half hour longer than originally on site). When called at one hour fifteen told be 10 mins. At 1.5 hrs called again and told on Way and be 5-10 minutes then got told they busy and hung up on me. Driver arrived 10 minutes later (one hour and fifty five minutes after placing order) to tell me he was in the restaurant when I called and made sure food was then put in car. So either the delivery driver or the two people I spoke to separately on the phone ages after my order should have been delivered are liars. Rest assured, even though the food is of good quality, a two hour delivery slot is not acceptable and I will not be using Bonoful again. Disgruntled Wheatfield Way now ex customers. But guessing as they so busy they need to lie to customers they be pleased to lose custom.

Waited an over an hour for a cold meal items Missing totally inedible popadoms soggy and chocked cold when we told the delivery driver ( second tome with the missing items) he said "why don't you stick it in the microwave" never had a problem before but they have just lost a customer.

Took a long time between order and delivery. The meal was very liquidy, so the rice ended up sitting in a pool of water. Very disappointing as I have ordered from Bonoful a handful of times and previously they were very good.

Been using this Indian for years now and never been disappointed yet . Bonoful special is a regular dish of ours and is highly recommended. Great food for reasonable prices. Discount if you collect too.

Very quick delivery- piping hot!

We were quite disappointed with this takeaway restaurant for a number of reasons. We pre-ordered two curries plus rice 2 hours before opening and received a confirmation from the restaurant that the order will be delivered for 7pm-7.20pm. Unfortunately the food did not arrive until 8.15pm. We tried ringing the restaurant several times to follow up on the order, with little success. When the order eventually arrived, it was completely wrong - we ordered plain rice and it had vegetable rice. We also ordered a vegetable curry which was a chicken curry... On top of that, the food was cold and we had to microwave it. Overall, highly disappointing and we will not order from this establishment again!

Forgot my Coke but got my money back but lovely food

I have waited 2 hours with no explanation and when I called the restaurant they were very unhelpful and said it was on its way (without even having asked order details or address) still no food..

NEVER ORDER FROM HERE..... IT'S BEEN NEARLY 3 HOURS SINCE WE ORDERED AND STILL NO FOOD. WE CALLED THEM CONTINOUSLY TO BE TOLD 15MINUTES... 15MINUTES.... THEN TOLD IT'S OUT FOR DELIVERY... BUT MAYBE COLD. COLD.... ARE YOU KIDDING IT'S BEEN 2 HOURS HOW CAN MY FOOD BE COLD??? 45MINUTES LATER AND STILL NO FOOD! EVERYTIME I CALLED THERE WERE PEOPLE IN THE SHOP ALSO COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME THING. AVOID!

40 minutes late and still waiting. Avoid.

The restaurant added 25 minutes to expected delivery time (55 mins) , then delivered it in an hour ... the shop is literally a 5 min WALK away! The food wasn't very warm (temperature not spice!) & the chicken dishes didn't contain much chicken! Usually a much much better experience from Bonoful - please don't let your standards slip!

Delivery driver did not give us our bottle of Coke, so we called up, was spoken to very rudely by the restaurant staff and he was trying to refuse us our bottle of Coke! Will not be ordering from here again. Good was cold and not brilliant quality if I'm honest!

Food was stone cold, forgot my rice and asked rather than send another, can we take it off your next order. With poor food quality and terrible customer service like that, there will not be a next order.

The food took over an hour to arrive, and wasn't very hot, infact it was only warm, but besides from that, the meal was superb.
