Can't complain, great food at good price, staff generally ok.

Having used this restaurant regularly in the past and being in the area, we expected the same good standard. Oh, how this restaurant has gone downhill! The food was simply not good enough, quality and presentation poor. Just nowhere near the average Indian restaurant standard. Obviously no money has been spent on this restaurant on decor and toilet facilities for some time! Having enjoyed this restaurant in previous years, maybe a change of management? Cannot recommend.

Update March 2024. Back in Swaffham visiting family, back at Indian Summer for takeaway. Usual Cobra and red wine whilst waiting (part of the delight of the Indian Summer and our reason for not ordering online or by 'phone). The usual superb customer service and of course the superb food. Maybe we should convince them to open a "satellite restaurant" where we live in the far north of Scotland, we certainly need it. Would happily award more than 5 stars in all respects. Update August 2023. Back visiting family and a trip to get our favourite takeaway. As usual a glass of Cobra and a glass of red wine whilst waiting. The manager and his staff are superb and have first rate customer service skills. You are made to feel to be THE most important people in the restaurant. Excellent food, excellent service, very good pricing and generous portions make a meal from Indian Summer most desirable. No hesitation in recommending FIVE STARS in EVERY respect. See you next time we are down here. Update February 2023. Order placed, shown to a table to enjoy a superb pint of Cobra and a glass (large) of red wine to await our order. Made to feel that we were the most important customers in the restaurant. FIVE STAR SERVICE and when we got back to our relatives a FIVE STAR range of Indian dishes. Absolutely wonderful 🙂, how I wish we had a restaurant of this quality where we live in the far north of Scotland. Original comment 2021. Wow. I was parked up on the lorry park, I Always check the reviews. When I walked past it was rammed, so after a visit into the town I later got a takeaway. Can't fault these guy's it was closing time, ButWhat a great meal. Brilliant

Stayed in an Airbnb opposite the restaurant for a mini break whilst looking in the area for property to retire to. Went in (on spec no reservation) on a Monday 6:30pm. Other customers were already seated at 3 tables. Staff were polite and friendly. The food was superb, best we’ve eaten in a good many years. The prawn purée was spiced well and the purée bread was light textured. The half tandoori chicken was succulent and the lamb korai had a thick tasty sauce the peshwari naan was light textured and good flavour. None of the food was oily or greasy, fresh ingredients and the breads were nothing like what we’ve had before - chef must be using a different flour than what we get in London (ie not thick and doughy). The pricing was great value.

Visited the restaurant with family during a stay in Norfolk. The food was great. Reasonably priced. Service was fairly quick but it was a Sunday night & quiet. I would deffo return.

Ordered online through the website, service was really good, food was like warm and sub standard. The tikka masala was like red water with chicken in. The biriani was really watery too. When it was dished up all this water started appearing from the food. Not much flavour as the water must have displaced it. Won't be ordering again unfortunately.

A really nice takeaway curry! We’ve eaten 1000s of curries all over the world, this was a pretty good curry. Would definitely return.

Don't bother with their website. Placing an order via their website wont turn up. Asked them via phone what happened and they simply state na didn't get that order.

Good standard of Curry. Good drinks selections. Two issues we had: communication issues, wanted the dish explained better. Also, I don't like that you pay significantly more for using card e.g. £6/7 more. The customer shouldn't pay added tax. We would go back though 🤘

A consistently decent Indian takeaway and restaurant. Their wednesday meal deal is good value and one easily feeds two people. It is not the best Indian restaurant that I have ever frequented, but they turn in a solid performance. The "scores on the door" has also improved from 1 to 3, which is undoubtedly a positive movement!

Had severa decent meals from Indian Summer but the last one I had was not a chicken korma, far too spicy!

We had a take away in sat 28th oct 2023 , and i can honestly say it was one of the best Indian take aways i have ever had .food was fresh ,tasty and reasonably priced.back this Saturday for a dining in experience. Recommend it 100 %

Have eaten here a few times. The food is always pretty good and is very tasty. Really like the naans. The food would look better if it wasn't so bright. Not sure if it's the spices or colouring

Drove past this place so many times , have herd so many amazing reviews from friends and people we no so finally booked a table , from the outside the restourant could do with a spruce up , on entering it was very busy glad we booked (recommend) quickly shown to our table with a smile and a friendly greeting .plenty of very hard working happy staff .drinks menu plentiful cobra beer a delight .menu substantive quick delivery of food which was beautifully presented and the taste is out of this world. Good sized portions so had to ask for a doggy bag which was quickly arranged so we can enjoy tomorrow 😉. Very reasonably priced .toilets tidy and clean but same as outside could do with a spruce up .we will definitely be going again as we believe we have found a delight 😊

Stopped by on our cycling tour and had a lovely meal. Huge starters onion bahji and prawn on puree followed by missed biryani and a chicken korma. All delicious including the garlic naan light and buttery. Would definitely return. Prices very reasonable

On our last night staying in Castle Acre, we just had to finish the day off with a curry, and decided to take a punt at Indian Summer. We received a friendly welcome from a well presented young man, the premises were noticeably clean, with neatly laid out tables. We chose the lamb madras, almond rice, achari lamb and the proverbial naan. All was extremely tasty, and very reasonably priced. We took a doggy bag back to our digs as the food was that good, and it was one of those rare occasions when you were really looking forward to something and it didn't fail to deliver on taste and quality. Thank you Indian Summer.

One of the best Indian's we have dined at in a long while. Made to feel so welcome, fantastic food. Highly recommend the Chicken Tikka or the Chicken stir fry. Tastes so much better cooked and served to you in the restaurant than it does when delivered.(My personal opinion) Anyway, fantastic food, value for money and well worth a visit.

Today we went to Indian summer,we called prior and told seats for 2.They told it was fine. It shows restaurant is open from 12 to 2pm. We with our 1 month old baby went to restaurant from kings Lynn. We reached by 1.15 pm and the restaurant was closed . A person came outside and told restaurant is already closed and chef already gone. If this was the situation they could have told when we called and told we will be there within 30 minutes. Poor communication and even they didn't apologize for the mistake.

This restaurant never disappoints. The flavours are amazing and the staff are always really friendly. We have been visiting for many years and can’t recommend enough.

Good British Indian restaurant with no frills.

An authentic traditional British curry house in rural Norfolk. Don’t expect anything out of the ordinary on the menu here but do expect a stellar curry; no grease on the bhajis, tasty sauces, generous servings, a good drinks selection and all served very efficiently from friendly staff. We were just passing through (from London) and were really impressed. A full meal for two for sub £38. Brilliant

Really poor pasanda. It tasted as though the pan it was cooked in has just been cleaned eoth disinfectant. My wife enjoyed her chicken tikka though.

First visit herd with friends since they moved to the area a while ago. Good menu choice with some dishes on offer that had disappeared from menu of our local Indian restaurant. Really enjoyed the chicken archari which I found was accurately described as tangy and sour on menu. Will definitely return when next in area.

Always use these guys. Usual menu choices. Service is quick, food is good with plenty of meat in the dishes. Had sit in and takeaways both with no issues. If sitting in it's worth booking in advance as it is popular. Recommended.

Fantastic food. We had a brilliant night.

I'm not going to be a complete Karen, however after ordering for collection (this was once we realised the app wouldn't allow us to deliver... On seperate accounts etc etc) I headed to collect my food 10 minutes early, mentioned the app failure etc, food was already ready early etc .. Headed home just round the corner litterally 2 minutes and the food was stone cold... The bottom of the curry trays were warm from an obvious warmer but other than that everything was cold and soaked in grease... Completely bland sag aloo, Lamp pathia wasn't bad but pretty standard. Chicken was super dry Onion bahjis were dry but super dry. Overally it was just rough and I found tin foil all inside my keema naan.. so I couldn't actually eat it. I'm just abit unhappy, after spending £50 on an order for it to be like this. Ive also eaten near on a thousand curries I should imagine due to family background etc and this was the first ever Indian I didn't eat and just chucked away. Sorry guys, decent service but that was terrible.

We went on a Wednesday, which was Banquet Night. The food was plentiful,tasty and hot! We were made to feel very welcome. This is the best Indian food I’ve had in a long time. Would recommend booking as it was busy. Well worth a visit!

Did a great job catering to a large group

We live overseas in Australia, when we visit family in the UK the first thing we do is curry at Indian Summer. Lovely restaurant, best Tikka Dhansak anywhere and great staff. 👍

Our favourite restaurant but fancied a quick delivery this week and was not disappointed. Just delicious food to eat in or at home. Highly recommend.

I booked online , for a table for 6 Christmas day. Arrived and they was closed, no email no nothing. Disgusting service. Have used them for years and no problem until now. Should not of been allowed to book online if they wasn't going to be open, or should.of almost had an email to inform me of the mistake, ruined our Christmas

In the caravan for the weekend so decided to order a set meal for 2 to collect only 5 min away couldn't fault it what a good decision lovely and hot all freshly cooked it was lovely highly recommend staff very good nice place will have a meal inside next time

was recommended Indian Summer whilst staying at Norfolk Lodges, We Opted for Take away service. Food was waiting when we arrived which was handy, the gentleman on the desk was extremely friendly and helpful, and even more so extremely honest, whilst paying two Twenty Pound notes had stuck together, totally oblivious to this he pointed this out and handed the money back. ( Thank you so much) The food itself I can honestly say is one of the best Indians Ive tasted and great value for money. Will on our return definitely be going back here. Thankyou

We ate here one weekday evening and very good it was too. A good menu to suits all tastes, great service, clean and tidy, good food.

First visit. Impressed. We arrived add they were opening without a reservation. They said that they were fully booked, but found us a table as it was early. We (three of us) ordered food and drink. Drinks came immediately. Three different curries (and accompiaments) arrived in quick time. All cooked to perfection. Friendly, helpful staff. Great choices on the menu. Reasonably priced. There are special offers for Wednesday's and Sundays. Recommended 👍

Meal was okay a little cold when we got back to holiday site. The worst thing though was they messed up the main dish orders, so obviously no-one checking off orders correctly. Too far to go back but did call. Apologies were given but as we are on a short break not much chance of us re-using this particular takeaway. Also no complimentary salad, poppadoms & sauces like we have always received from many indian takeaways.

Not bad , not exactly quality, for dear god give the shop a proper clean its filthy, food reasonably good, but place could do with some kerb appeal, dead plants filthy canopy, service not bad , apart from being asked to pay for half a lager after takeaway delay, which I thought was a tad tight, we really need some quality restaurants in swaffham, try the Stratton hotel absolutely amazing food...

Had an amazing meal here with my family. Food quality and customer service was of a very high standard. One of the waiters even finished their break early to serve us and make sure that we had everything we needed. I highly recommend this place, If you're nearby check them out. Shimlan

Haven't been in a while, but saw the hygiene rating was acceptable again, so have it a try. The staff was great, but the food was just way too spicy! I generally order the same food, and never order spicy (lamb Rogan), but even the onion baji was spicy! It's just not fun when you can't taste anything but hot. Won't be returning.

Wonderful meal with the family at Indian Summer. Every dish was delicious but my favourite was the prawn puri and chef's special! The service was great and we look forward to dining at Indian Summer again when we are in the area.

Was not impressed with food quality this time around. Ordered Musroom bhaji , Aloo Gobi, rice and tandoori roti. Roti was chewy and dry, curry was tasteless and lots of oil. On top, they didn't deduct the 10% discount on takeaways as advertised. Not ordering from there any more.

The food and staff are absolutely outstanding and at very reasonable price . Will certainly visit again when in the area. Cannot fault it in any way. Give it a try you will not be disappointed.

Been getting takeaways from hear for years, but recently Currys sauce isn't as thick, instead very watery. That spoils the rice, lacks flavour and ruins what would of been a good meal. Stop cheating your customers!!! Or you LL loose more business......

5.5 prawns in my king prawn masala. The pic below is the whole meal. When I called to complain no “sorry” just “well, king prawns are expensive”. Such a shame because the same meal in the restaurant 4 weeks ago was a totally different experience....

First time here had been told it is not the best but decided to make our own mind up, wish we had listened to feedback. Had 3 curry’s, rice and naan. All curry’s tasted the same despite being different dishes. Sauce watery and lacking depth...

It doesn’t matter if your dining in or grabbing a takeaway, you will always be greeted at the door with a friendly smile and welcome. This will just be the start of this truly great meal. The food is always brilliant and I recommend this to one and all. Good for a night out with friends or family.

This used to be a very good take away but the last 3 times we have ordered take away it has been very poor quality and very cool in temperature. I am led to believe their hygiene rating is only a 3 as well

Tonight I enjoyed a tasty meal here. I can say that the food has great flavor and a cut above the average curry house in my opinion.

Superb food which is well cooked. Couple that with polite staff and quick service and you are on to a winner. I had the Lamb Naga Curry which although fairly hot was full of flavour. Will come again.

Ordered a take away at 5.50 for delivery at 7.10. Turned up at 8.15 after 2 phone calls to find out where it was. Food arrived luke warm. The food is usually good from here but don’t order for delivery! Very poor service.

Absolutely awful experience with takeaway,it does not tell you that you can't order the meal deal on a Friday online ,so we ordered 3 meal deals,then drove 25 miles to get it only to find that the order hadn't even been put through ,still had...

We ordered a takeaway using the happy meal deal & ordered 2 meal deals and had loads of food to eat. It was great value and fed 3 of us & we were all really full. The flavours were amazing & the portions were large....

Ordered food lastnight online for a time once my daughter had gone to sleep food arrived an hour early an easy mistake and was rectified straight away and food came to my door at the correct time I asked for delivery driver was prompt, friendly and apologetic for the previous mistake still worthy of a 5 star review in my eyes
