The restaurant was very quiet, but that was due to a wet night and eating very early. However the food was first class and we would heartily recommend this venue if you love your curries. 👍

First order through food hub. It said it would be 45 minutes. I called after an hour and half and was told it would be 10 minutes. Called after two hours and cancelled after being told my food left quite a while ago and there were two deliveries before ours. So I would have had cold food after waiting two hours. Not good enough, sorry.

Been here a couple of times now after being recommended. It doesn't look much from the outside but don't let that put you off. Lovely food at a reasonable price, great service, not rushed to get in and eat. You can take your own drinks too. Really nice and enjoyable atmosphere. Will definitely be going again.

Tremendous food don't go anywhere else for Indian takeaway this is the best by far tasty fresh and value for money not the cheapest bit definitely the best, you get what you pay for.

I was looking for a ‘good’ Indian Restaurant after a 6 hours long drive. I opened my trusty TripAdvisor app to find local restaurants, nearby. This restaurant had a 4 *. One recent review though highlighted that the restaurant was charging more than the stated menu price. We arrived just before they opened and the proprietor greeted us and showed us to our table. He was very courteous and helpful when I told him I do not like a lot of red coloring in my food. I mentioned the review regarding the menu price and was that true? He apologized that the updated menu had still not arrived from his printer and he printed out what my bill will be before we placed our order. To be fair the increased prices were moderate. We ordered our meals: Achari King Prawns and Bhuna King Prawns. The king prawns were large and juicy. The coriander and Peshwari naan breads were of a good size. The poppadoms were fresh and crunchy and a tray with a selection of onions and sauces to serve with was perfect. We will definitely try this little gem again. The hygiene rating 5, on the door entrance also gave us confidence to eat there.

Came to Amraj to celebrate my mother in laws birthday. We were a party of 7! Everything was beautiful and everything so fresh. The two staff who were on were very attentive. The gent who took our order even taught our young sons how to say thank you in urdu as our little ones are currently learning French! The food was divine , and the service was a pleasure. Many thanks.

Food was good, they even let me eat in even though it was only open for deliveries! Now that's hospitality. I just happened to find it online while looking for something to eat. The place has parking just in case you were wondering.

The food was ok, but we were totally shocked when told that the prices on the menu weren't the prices being charged. Apparently, the menu prices were from 3 years ago. This needs rectifying by the restaurant ASAP because it's totally against the law. You can't charge a different price to what is shown on your menu's. The prices were at least £2 more per dish than on the menu!! Credit where it's due, though, the Restaurant honoured their menu prices in the end. If we hadn't challenged them, though, we would've paid at least £30 more on the bill compared to the out of date menu prices.

Wow wow wow!!! A few of us arrived pretty late without a prior booking. We were happily greeted and shown to our table. The place is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The staff were very courteous and friendly. This restaurant has a great atmosphere. The food was amazing, all our meals were so tasty, freshly cooked, well presented and piping hot. Everyone had an excellent night. We can't wait to return. Joanne and Robert.

Food excellent , Shashlik is the best I have tasted , We have tried other Indian restaurants there is no comparison. The staff ,Reddy , is so helpful and professional are excellent nothing too much trouble. Amraj has been a firm favourite of ours for years and continues to please ..

The food was all Average. nothing bad, nothing good. The curries were all a bit under spiced and under seasoned but the meat was tender and the sauce was a good consistency. May give them another try to see if it was an off day because the meals definitely had potential but if it’s the same next time I won’t be going again.

Delicious food and lovely restaurant, shame it was quiet and lacked atmosphere within the restaurant dine-in experience. A bit of music to match the cuisine would have been nice, rather than what seemed to be the same George Michael song playing over and over. The takeaway side of the business is obviously thriving as the kitchen and drivers seemed busy. Toilet facilities could do with a bit better of a clean, but I think that was just due to them not having many customers eating in, so they have been ignored (no toilet roll in one cubicle, broken plaster on floor from wall and spider webs in them) Could be amazing with a few tweaks, such a shame, but will go again on the basis of the food quality. Also, love that it is BYOB!

We dined in, and the restaurant decor is really nice. This place does not serve booze but does allow you to bring your own. The food was spectacular we had the works, popadoms, starters, curry, naan breads and rice and it was all fantastic. The service was slow and they brought us bottled mineral water when we asked for tap but once the food arrived it was fantastic.

Excellent food with great service from very friendly staff. It was very quiet when we went last which given the quality of the food surprised us.

Curry was horrible pure ghee and chicken was old i litrally had curry every day this week and this was the worst.

Dissapointed on this visit. Service was poor. Party of 13 arrived for 9.30pm it was almost 10.45pm when we got our main meals. No starters were asked for just poppadoms and pickel trays. Let's hope it was a one off glitch.

Absolutely vile, just ordered £30 worth of food it’s come cold. Rice is dry, curry wasn’t what we ordered and it smells awful. You get 3 tiny chicken wings for £4.50 and wasn’t any meat on was all just bone. Was waiting over an hour for it. Delivery driver was rude and so was the person I spoke to when I rang up to complain. Disgusting service will never order again from this place.

We had a nice meal here with family. The place is a little bit rough around the edges (like some of the menus are split and there’s marks where the tables have hit the wall - but all just wear and tear) and service for our mains was a little slow - but it didn’t really matter for our purposes! I could see take aways and collections going out of the door so they were busy in other areas so we were happy to wait. It was a shame that some drinks had gone off menu as a result of Covid (lassi and mocktails, for example) but you can bring your own alcohol - so we weren’t really too bothered. It would be nice to see them be in a position to bring lassi back. The food was really nice, I make a point of having bhuna when I’m at an Indian restaurant I’ve never been to before - because it helps me to gage how hot everything else would be! My bhuna was lovely and Smokey with a little kick. We will definitely return for take away or eating in.

Nice experience. Just a heads up, when you make an online order check the time for pickup. My time was approximately 2hr after the order. That wasn't cool so I phoned them, they said give us 20 minutes. Great. I turned up a bit early in fact, but it was done. Got it home and still piping hot! You only learn the time after you've paid, which is slightly inconvenient. They were very helpful. Nice staff.

Never had a bad meal! From the service, to the food and ambience, everything is fantastic! Authentic, very well prepared food, very tasty and well presented. All the staff is very friendly and welcoming, very accommodating. We've been there on various occasions, from impromptu meals to family celebrations and we were never disappointed. A nice little gem hidden away in Beighton Village.

Again cannot fault this establishment !! From Reddy ,who greets you ,and may I say serves you very professionally, yet in a friendly manner ,to the owner Naseem who is an excellent chef . The food is excellent, well tasty and plenty of choice. Try their Shashlik, we have and you will not be disappointed!!! we have had this dish in many restaurant's but Amjaj beat them hands down . We have tried numerous Indian restaurant's but non beat the Amraj for quality, food, service and friendliness . I would highly recommend this Indian Restaurant .

Absolutely shocking, picked the food up and it was icy cold, the dishes were completely bland with no flavour whatsoever and the pickle tray was an absolute joke, watery mango chutney and poppadoms all broken up and burnt to a crisp. We go to several different Indian takeaways and this has got to be the worse we've ever had

Excellent food and service. Chicken Handi as main meal was very tasty and authentic with lots of flavour. Would definitely recommend and will visit again.

My friend has high cholesterol and I told the staff and the y though it would be funny to put more salt in his food and he almost had a heart attack and he vomited lumpy vindaloo

Food was generally good, chicken in my balti was hard overcooked, my wife's was cooked perfect (seemed to be cooked fresh), ice machine was broken do no ice got the drinks, cranberry juice seemed very weak flavoured, 2 mains with non alcoholic drinks and 4 poppadoms was £47.50 which seemed on the expensive side

First visit here. We had takeaway meals for 4 of us. I had a chicken razella with no rice and thats because they forgot to put it in, did try ringing numerous times to complain but kept getting the answer phone, i did leave my details but no one has got back to me. We also ordered chips, again they were left out....poppadoms and 2 pickle trays...again they forgot to put them in. In fairness the curries we had were not too bad, but only average. The Garlic nan was thin and bland not much taste. Will i ever go back..??..maybe not...

Disgusting...the order was an hour later than it should have been. When it arrived there was no apology ...pickle tray, seriously???...massively dissppointed. Also if the naan bread was dead I would've preferred to be asked if I wanted it cremated before you actually did it. Phoned several times to complain but no one answered the phone.

What a lovely visit service was excellent food was so nice. We didn't know it wasn't licensed and he wanted to send the driver to the local shop to get us wine we said no and my sister went . Couldn't fault anything will be back thank you 😀. Went to amraj when it was in crystal peaks and moved just a little bit further just as nice 👍

Great food nice staff definitely worth a visit

Shame I couldn't leave 0 stars. My girlfriend and I agreed it was the worst curry we had ever eaten. Having boycotted Aldi for their tough chicken, this had much the same feel and a bit of quality testing would've avoided this. My Madras had about 8 pieces of chicken and then was just filled with sauce, no vegetables at all, I would've been better getting a jar from the supermarket. My girlfriend's Razzala was nothing like any she'd had before and does not fit the description for Razzala, Rizzala or Rezzala if you look online. It's supposed to be creamy like a Tikka Masala but it looked like a Bhuna and was way too spicy. Needless to say we won't make this mistake again.

Ordered meals for 5 adults online, 55 minutes wait at a slack time. On opening meals found only 4 meals had been prepared. Telephoned cafe & received a very poor response, asked for missing meal to be delivered butcafe very reluctant to do so, but did some 20 minutes after others had eaten. Poor service & attitude

Excellent! Probably one of the best Indian meals we've had in a long time! We just had it on a one night overnight stay near Doncaster. It was delicious, real value for money and very quick! We often make our own curries at home and think they are loads better than many of the Indian meals we have but this was awesome. Chicken tikka so good and lamb kahari!

The hard working manager finds time to chat to all his customers ensuring a friendly atmosphere. His hospitality skills are backed up by his culinary prowess when he has to cover for an absent chef or, as during the lockdown take away, he is the only person on the premises, answering the phone taking orders, cooking, and delivering the food to the door in a 100% safe from covid manner. During normal days, before the pandemic, the restaurant operates a 'bring your own alcohol' which avoids the often exorbitant cost of wine etc., common in many food outlets. I wholeheartedly recommend you try the Amraj either, as at present, for a take away meal or hopefully in the near future by dining in the restaurant.

The restaurant is closed but now operating a takeaway service. Excellent service. Ring order in and at agreed time, the food S brought to front door.

During this COVID situation the one thing I have not missed is good Indian food ( takeaway) form Amraj ..... the best thing is ... it is all contactless... they take the £££ over the phone and when you reach to collect / delivery it’s all contactless..... can’t wait for Saturday night Majee Zaika with garlic naan. Lol.....

We visit the restaurant weekly but in these unprecedented times, they are doing takeaway collections. The food was just as good and the collection arrangements safe & secure. We had exactly the same meal as when we were last in 2 weeks ago and it was just as delicious - bhajis & liver tikka with popadoms/pickle tray and chicken shashlik and chicken tikka dopiaza with nan,rice & saag aloo. I highly recommend you try it

Food was excellent. Not one of our 20 strong party could complain. Unfortunately that's where the good experience ended. We had booked months in advanced for our son's 18th birthday and been given a menu for all to pick from. When the bill came it had been drastically increased in price and the only explanation we kept getting was we had been given a takeaway menu and not a eat in menu. I had been warned about checking my bill from a friend that got over charged. I asked for a discount due to there mistake and got no satisfaction. So paid the bill so we didn't spoil my sons birthday but will not be going there again. Could say I'm very disappointed with there conduct

Went with the family just a few days ago, food was absolutely fantastic as usual the service is brilliant the manger is always great and helpful and so are the waiters. My family and I have been visiting the Amraj for years and have always have had an experience second to none. No trouble is too big for Nadeem and his staff, and the ambience is always lovely. I don't understand how anyone could leave a bad review about this place as the food is always delicious, especially the fresh naan bread that I guarantee will not disappoint. My family are just looking for excuses to visit!! Definitely the best Indian in miles!

Went here for the first time recently after great reviews, its a lovely family run restaurant with great service and delicious food. Kids enjoyed it too! (Ask for the orange/mango sauce!) Can't wait to come again!

Went here on the 16th of January for mums birthday. Started off with poppadoms and pickle tray; staff immediately attentive and can't do enough for you. Had liver tikka starter, served fresh from skewers direct onto the plate. Cooked perfectly! Main; chicken tikka with an extra Madras sauce on the side, served on a sizzler with peppers and onions. Naan breads fresh and best I've ever tasted (eating curries for 25 years). We were a large party, with kids, and nothing could have gone better. Everyone enjoyed their food, the atmosphere, service and the evening.Other starters had were Onion Bhajis, Mushroom Bhajis, other mains, Chicken Korma, Amraj Special King Prawn, amongst others and everything was brilliant.

I went on the night of 12th January was absolutely packed. Went as a party of 10 and I was still seen in a timely manner food was hot and had very good portion sizes. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Food was on point. Will be going again and have booked another party for February looking forward to it.

We have been looking for a new restaurant/take away for a good curry as our usual haunt wasn't as good as in the past and had started to mix up meals or not send the correct order. Based on recommendations and reviews we decided to try the Amraj and were delighted when they said they could deliver. I ordered a poppadom and onion salad - 2 poppadoms arrived but no onion at all. My husband's hot mixed kebab starter was in a foil dish and served on top of the chilled salad. Both main courses were very heavy on sauce but very little chicken and what there was, was bland and chewy. The naan bread came wrapped in a paper bag not even foil and was stone cold. The only good things were the delivery man, who was prompt and pleasant, the pilau rice and the yoghurt dressing for the mixed kebab. I notice that not a single review has been answered by the restaurant - maybe that should have started my alarm bells ringing. I will continue to look for a new curry venue.....

Visited here for a birthday celebration. We were a big group and the only table in the restaurant but was still waiting a long time for our meals. Poppadoms and pickle tray - ok but can't really go wrong... Samosa chaat - not what it's supposed to be... chicken tikka masala - definitely not your usual masala so bland and full of coriander... chicken korma - again so bland just like eating double cream... Also very chewy chicken. Pilau rice - ok but dry. Garlic nan were nice though. Definitely will not be returning! Much better Indian restaurants around and more reasonably priced than this place.

Visited for a family meal, great service, fab food

Visited on the off chance for an evening meal but will never return, the food was so bland and not appetising the chicken in our dishes was so dry and tasted awful, the coriander naan looked like a green mess with oil floating on it, we were shown to a table that wasn’t set, no cutlery, glasses and serviettes we received the cutlery with our meal, but no serviettes, we ordered soft drinks a slimline tonic and a black currant and soda both of which they didn’t have, so we asked for some water which arrived warm with no ice so we had to ask for it, the waiters were off hand and didn’t make you feel welcome, we left most of our dishes and couldn’t wait to to get out of the place, hence we will never return !

Me and my partner visited here on a Wednesday evening, had starters, mains, rice, garlic naan and chips. Got the bill and it came to just under £30 thanks to the 2 4 1 on starters and mains! I think this offer is on tuesdays & wednesdays, fantastic value for money. Rogan Josh is gorgeous! Its also bring your own booze, but they do serve mocktails and soft drinks! Very friendly waiters, always make good conversation and make us feel very welcome, cant wait to visit again soon!
