Me and my husband have been coming to bay of bengal for many years now and have thoroughly enjoyed it. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is always welcoming and the service is always fabulous 👌. Would highly recommend 👌

Went on a Tuesday night for the buffet 🤔 Would be more accurate to call it a meal deal This consists of A poppadom with pickle tray A starter A main course A naan bread or rice The cost good value at £14.99 The baghis were nice and crispy Mango chutney had a big kick to it The mains very hot even thought it was supposed to be a mild dish The peshwari naan was lovely as was the ghee rice Just be aware if you order a king prawn main dish they charge you an extra £4.50

Food was very very good. But it isnt fast (as others have observed) so dont go expecting fast food. I didnt do the hygiene inspection on this place but as an EHO I can tell you the condition of a premises loos tells you the likely state of kitchens. Id give this 4* with basic but clean ladies. However my colleague found the mens to be a 2* owing to an excess of bodily fluids and solids on the walls. The staff made only a cursory effort to clean up (was very busy BUT thats not really an excuse). Close them till cleaned (there was disabled available). The menu was possibly over extensive. Better to focus on fewer options maybe?

Went on buffet night (though it isn't a buffet, very confused why they call it this), very cheap! Food was nice and there is a large and unusual menu to choose from. Big portion sizes. Great value for money. Staff look like they'd rather be anywhere else in the world though🤣

Probably had over 100 meals from here if you combine takeaway and dine-in. Between me and my family, we've probably tried almost every meal, except the seafood ones as none of us are massive seafood fans. In the probably around 4 years we've been eating here, the only complaint I've ever heard from my family was my dad complaining about a curry being too hot (probably shouldn't have asked for it vindaloo hot!). Honestly I don't understand how people could find the food and/or the service even remotely bad. Always been amazing food and service.

Was empty when we were there, my wife asked for butter chicken which is normally very mild but she left most of it because it was too spicy

The food arrived late and without two of the items ordered. This has happened before but we have gone back because we enjoyed the food. We will now be ordering from the other local Indian Restaurant takeaway in the area

Ordered a takeaway, the person on the phone said an hour, it was over two hours. It arrived cold and the nan bread we ordered was the wrong one. Very disappointing and will not order from this restaurant/takeaway again.

Ordered Takeaway at 18.38 arrived 20 .15 , food was luke warm , sauce was very waterery and not that tasty.Chips were missing from my order.Rang them , offered to see if she could get some out , apologised. Said it was too late as we'd eaten after warming food up in microwave. Told her I wasn't impressed & asked for a refund gir the chips. Offered to sort some discount off my next order - no idea how much that would've been as advised them that I wouldn't be using them again. First & last time for me I'm afraid .

Ckn tk dopiaza, nice, my ckn tk Podina nice but I should have questioned wether it was tikka meat, didn't look/taste like it. Pickle tray basic, no mixed pickle, but I suppose they know their customers.

I've visited this place on many occasions and I can highly recommend it. The food has always been of a very high standard and cooked very promptly. The staff are friendly and always make an effort with my 8 year old son.

We started to use Bay of Bengal just under two years ago The food has always been very good, but not last night It was a disaster looks like your cooking or hygiene standards have been nonexistent The chicken bhuna has resulted in sickness and diarrhoea other two meals sickness Will never use again Thanks for making us all sick

Family birthday meal. Food average, not great, not terrible. Good service. Looked at bill at home later.. kids chicken nuggets and chips £9.!!!! Disgrace, what a rip off. Won't return.

Really enjoyed our visit, we didn't book but we're able to be seated although they seemed quite busy.. Place was clean and plenty of staff around .. Worst thing was the wait for the food, don't know if they were short staffed in the kitchen or they were just doing take away food 1st.. When our food finally came it was spot on.. Garlic nans were light and fluffy, my rice was tasty by itself and both our curries were really good, best we have had in a long time.. Will be coming back for the buffet night soon to see what it has to offer..

There was no experience booked the table a day before for a party of 10 family members for 6 o’clock for my birthday. Received a reply ba14:13 to say it’s Booked Then on the night of the meal was getting ready and received a phone call at 5:15 … saying they have double booked, and could we come in for 5:30 or 7:30 We had to cancel Cheers Bay of Bengal for a wonderful night 🎉 ( not )

The food was very nice I had the bay of bengal special which was outstanding.we ordered the butter chicken aswell which I don't recommend as it had a full block of butter melted over the top

Excellent food, extensive interesting menu and friendly efficient service also very good disabled facilities, all in our party of seven were equally happy, would recommend.

We were a party of 13 that ate at The Bay of Bengal. The service was really good, efficient and friendly. The food came out together and was all hot. In our opinion that was a good effort with the group we had. They were patient with us when it came to trying to sort out the bill. We enjoyed it and look forward to our next meal there.

First red flag was rude telephone order. Second was ignorant old guy at pick up reception counter. Should have walked out at that point. Lesson learned. Just putting £22 in the bin would have saved an hour of my life and a bin that smells of bad curry.

First time visit, and happened to be Golden anniversary. Food, customer service, and warm reception all without fault! Definitely a place to visit!!!

Disappointed tonight, all our curries Biryani, Bhuna, Rogan Josh were hot. Biryani was more like a Madras! Never happened here before. Place was cold, kept coats on, and carpark not gritted at all.

Third time being here this time with family. We all had a lovely meal. Waiters very attentive. Never a bad meal yet

1st time eating in Bay of Bengal, Sunday couldn't fault it we all enjoyed it the curry and starters was very tasty drinks came on the time nice restaurant plates were cleared away from the table after we finish nice and worm tissue was handed out. Why I am giving your restaurant only 3 stars? At the end we asked for the bill young waiter has came took the payment!!!! After that he was asking for the tip in my life I have visited lots of Indian Bangladeshi restaurants around South Yorkshire I have never came across waiters asking for the tip. We have waved them at the end but we will not come after all that

Just moved into area, thought we’d try the local Indian as it had great reviews. What a shame. Poppadoms stale. Curry flavourless. Everything tasted reheated. Rice was lumpy, not fluffy. Not impressed and sorely disappointed. Don’t waste your money.

Group of 10 went on buffet night at £14.99 p/p quite rushy to order,serious face couldn't have a laugh...asked to have our left foods bagged up as we couldn't manage to eat to get told we have to pay extra for that... total was £22.50 for 4 bags with 2 foil containers in all bags total spent was £215...won't be going again just due to the fact of been charged to take away OUR FOOD THAT WAY PAID FOR at £15 per person for! But to be honest we would have spent less ordering individually. Food was nice and the plus side.

the food was ok but did`t get all we asked for a veg biryani they forgot to give use the sauce but total refused to send it back out even do we paid they did there normal trick as its not the first time they say we will give discount on next order yet they never have done its just away to shut you up would not go there again and yes we spent £43 pounds they must be making loads been able to just shack there shoulders and put 2 fingers upto there customers

We went here for a family birthday meal with a table of 6 of us. Service started slow and unusually when delivering drink staff felt it appropriate to lean over 2 people to pass drink to the 3rd seat rather than walking 3 foot. Poppadoms arrived and decent quality pickle tray. Starters arrived and a very mixed reception, whilst the bahjis were really nice, crisp and not greasy the vegetable samosas appeared to be straight of the supermarket freezer section and were as authentic as the accents in the 80s hit tv programme Hello hello. After a period of time plates were cleared and new cutlery settings were dished out. Some of the party had rice however most only had nann or chapatti with their mains. As the mains arrived a couple of our party put the serving bowls onto the main plate to make it easier for them to eat as they were only having it with the bread. We were missing a few items and mentioned to the staff. Soon after a person I assume was chef came out as did the food and "Chef" took it upon himself to reach over and move the dishes placed on the main plate off the plates and back onto the table muttering that they do not belong there. To say we were gobsmacked was an understatement. In my nearly 48 years on this planet I have never seen someone being told off for wanting to eat their food how they wanted in a restaurant. Main dishes were tasty and good portions, onion rice was heavy on onion but other that that enjoyable food. After a while plates were cleared at which point we unsuccessfully tried on multiple occasions to catch the eye of staff to get the bill. Eventually I asked for the bill. The retort was I would be better without the bill, at this point I mentioned one of our party was birthday girl (this was mentioned on booking and the restaurant states birthday guest gets a free meal upon proof of birthday id). I was greeted with the response that we should have mentioned that earlier. Bill arrived and no discount. Again a few agonising minutes trying to get a member of staff to speak to us. Enough was enough and Birthday girl herself went up to the main counter and this was dealt with. We paid, left and vowed never to return to faulty towers again.

Lovely meal and prompt service. Only negative point i would make is that there needs to be some advice / key on the menu on how spicy the meals are, or make sure yoincheck.. I knew my lovely sea bass was on top of a spicy chilli sauce but my husband picked a mince meat dish that was described as mild spice, but it was quite hot with a kick to it, it was a lovely meal but he prefers a medium curry. We do love the Bay of Bengal and service is always good, so overall would recommend.
