Ordered takeaway on line expecting 1 hour max in a Tuesday at 5pm . Waited over 2 hours for delivery . Had to chase delivery driver as he was about to drive away and we was sat with lights on . Starters was ok but the rest was greasy and chewy and the worst I have ever had as an Indian take away . If the restaurant is like this then AVOID .

The food was very nice and filling. If you like Indian food this restaurant is well worth a visit.

It only gets a 4 star from me, due to it being very busy, it was a Saturday night with a big birthday party. Food was nice meat bhuna, service was good, atmosphere well like I said it was busy. I would like to try it on a quieter evening. Don't let this put you off

Best we've had in a long time, faultless service, Bhajis crispy excellent we shared a portion as you get two, keema rice, mushroom rice wonderful, meat in karahi was so tasty but tender, just one negative, garlic nan had no garlic flavour. BUT rest of meal was top drawer and great service, will be back soon

Not had a bad curry to date, does excellent starters. Only criticism the stuffed parathas are OK but not the best I've had. Well worth a visit.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.…. Don't be fooled by the Tuesday buffet, its a scam, you pay £15 and get a starter and a main course….. That's it, and also know if you order the lamb chops starter they take one of the lamb chops off the plate.… they also water down the yogurt sause, (wow) that's a desperate saving.…. They also charge you a whopping extra £4.50 for any prawn dish which is DAYLIGHT ROBBERY - and the prawn tikka massala was terrible dish, only got served with 6 or so small prawns with it.…. I wouldn't recommend it, its about £15.50 on the menu, there's other dishes on the Al a carte buffet menu for £14.50 so why rob an extra £4.50 off customers…… also note when I orded the prawn dish he did say there was a surcharge but when I asked ( twice ) how much it was he Play and simply ignored me….. I now know why, highlight of the mealsas the popadom until we put the tasteless watery yoghurt on it.…… THERES FAR BETTER CURRY HOUSE TO GO AT BELIEVE ME.…. Oh and the drinks are expensive

Lovely meal out at Bengal Bay, haven t been in a while and didn't feel like cooking, even though it was midweek. Husband had the biryani and I had a king prawn dish, both delivered by the cheeky waiter Reuben (hope I've spelled his name correctly) who made us laugh, enjoyed the food, place has a lovely ambience, we will be back.

Great food, friendly service and never feel rushed between courses. Definitely one of our favourite Indian restaurants to go to. Booking in advance not always necessary. A highly recommended place to visit and see for yourselves. It probably won't be your last as we have found. Not many local Indian restaurants to chose from, so this is a little gem.

We visited on 6/7/24 there was a party of 29 for my sons 18th birthday. All 29 people commented on how nice the food was. Booking was easy and no need to pre order. We will definitely eat here again.

My sister, cousins and I were at the Bay of Bengal to have a celebratory meal for my sister's birthday. Our meals were very well cooked and served hot. We have been previously and never been disappointed. The service was excellent and staff were very friendly. Well done Bay of Bengal!

One of the worst Indian meals we've ever had. Prawns were actually transparent which can only mean they'd been cooked from frozen. Onion bhaji was dry, overcooked & tasteless. The yoghurt dressing was almost water. Chicken in main meal was tough & almost inedible. Very disappointed.

Another fabulous evening here! A bustling busy family athmosphere, with lots of birthdays being celebrated. The food was brilliant, we all had a good meal. We didn't feel rushed and the staff were very professional. A nice big car park and views right across the Derbyshire border to Troway.

After eating half of my tandoori chicken I then realised it was raw…straight away I politely called one of the staff members over for him to pick up the plate and says “it’s because the chickens big” then I replied it should still be cooked..the man just stood there staring asking us what he wanted us to do I would not recommend anyone coming to this restaurant I am absolutely sickened to my stomach I’m counting down the days/hours for a potential illness that’s pending I’ve got a revolting feeling in my stomach wouldn’t recommend this to anyone

Everything seemed rushed as it was busy Hoovering over you as you get seated to see what you want to drinking then get order wrong Food came out and not the best I have had Son went to toilet and tried to take his plate when obviously not finished Over half left Watching soon as finished to clear table as there was people waiting We paid £110 pounds just for main meal and 4 drinks Then as soon as we got near home I had terrible diarrhea Not use again going back to rubeeze at gleadless

I have been here a few times for food and it was exquisite I ordered a takeaway tonight and how can they get it so wrong ordered a tandoori kebab and the meat was so tough and taste awful the onion salad was mixed with old stuff and new why cant it taste the same as it does in the restaurant think il stick with my favourite rubeez can't get no where near its a no from me

Had a take out which was delivered, the food was cold, when we phoned to complain we were told to stick it in the microwave. Will never use thia place again.

I have been to Bay of Bengal several times before and the food and service have been great. However, after today I will not be booking again. My niece called on the 1st March to book a table for 9 of us for today (Mothers Day) the booking was made and a table reserved for 5pm. When we arrived, the member of staff on front of house asked for the booking name, he couldn't find the booking and asked if we had called, my niece then actually showed him the phone log with the time and date. Instead of actually dealing with us he was more interested in answering the phone, after a few minutes of standing there pretty much being ignored, he told us that there wasn't a booking, then continued to answer the phone. There was no apology, no explanation apart from "I wasn't here last week" not one of the several staff owned up to taking the booking or lack there of. The only time that an apology was made was when the 9 of us had to walk out due to lack of tables and when I said that I would be leaving a negative public review! I have never been so disgusted by such a lack of customer service, absolutely appalling!

Went on a Tuesday night for the buffet 🤔 Would be more accurate to call it a meal deal This consists of A poppadom with pickle tray A starter A main course A naan bread or rice The cost good value at £14.99 The baghis were nice and crispy Mango chutney had a big kick to it The mains very hot even thought it was supposed to be a mild dish The peshwari naan was lovely as was the ghee rice Just be aware if you order a king prawn main dish they charge you an extra £4.50

Food was very very good. But it isnt fast (as others have observed) so dont go expecting fast food. I didnt do the hygiene inspection on this place but as an EHO I can tell you the condition of a premises loos tells you the likely state of kitchens. Id give this 4* with basic but clean ladies. However my colleague found the mens to be a 2* owing to an excess of bodily fluids and solids on the walls. The staff made only a cursory effort to clean up (was very busy BUT thats not really an excuse). Close them till cleaned (there was disabled available). The menu was possibly over extensive. Better to focus on fewer options maybe?

Went on buffet night (though it isn't a buffet, very confused why they call it this), very cheap! Food was nice and there is a large and unusual menu to choose from. Big portion sizes. Great value for money. Staff look like they'd rather be anywhere else in the world though🤣

Probably had over 100 meals from here if you combine takeaway and dine-in. Between me and my family, we've probably tried almost every meal, except the seafood ones as none of us are massive seafood fans. In the probably around 4 years we've been eating here, the only complaint I've ever heard from my family was my dad complaining about a curry being too hot (probably shouldn't have asked for it vindaloo hot!). Honestly I don't understand how people could find the food and/or the service even remotely bad. Always been amazing food and service.

Ordered a takeaway, the person on the phone said an hour, it was over two hours. It arrived cold and the nan bread we ordered was the wrong one. Very disappointing and will not order from this restaurant/takeaway again.

Ordered Takeaway at 18.38 arrived 20 .15 , food was luke warm , sauce was very waterery and not that tasty.Chips were missing from my order.Rang them , offered to see if she could get some out , apologised. Said it was too late as we'd eaten after warming food up in microwave. Told her I wasn't impressed & asked for a refund gir the chips. Offered to sort some discount off my next order - no idea how much that would've been as advised them that I wouldn't be using them again. First & last time for me I'm afraid .

Ckn tk dopiaza, nice, my ckn tk Podina nice but I should have questioned wether it was tikka meat, didn't look/taste like it. Pickle tray basic, no mixed pickle, but I suppose they know their customers.

We started to use Bay of Bengal just under two years ago The food has always been very good, but not last night It was a disaster looks like your cooking or hygiene standards have been nonexistent The chicken bhuna has resulted in sickness and diarrhoea other two meals sickness Will never use again Thanks for making us all sick

Family birthday meal. Food average, not great, not terrible. Good service. Looked at bill at home later.. kids chicken nuggets and chips £9.!!!! Disgrace, what a rip off. Won't return.

Really enjoyed our visit, we didn't book but we're able to be seated although they seemed quite busy.. Place was clean and plenty of staff around .. Worst thing was the wait for the food, don't know if they were short staffed in the kitchen or they were just doing take away food 1st.. When our food finally came it was spot on.. Garlic nans were light and fluffy, my rice was tasty by itself and both our curries were really good, best we have had in a long time.. Will be coming back for the buffet night soon to see what it has to offer..

There was no experience booked the table a day before for a party of 10 family members for 6 o’clock for my birthday. Received a reply ba14:13 to say it’s Booked Then on the night of the meal was getting ready and received a phone call at 5:15 … saying they have double booked, and could we come in for 5:30 or 7:30 We had to cancel Cheers Bay of Bengal for a wonderful night 🎉 ( not )

We were a party of 13 that ate at The Bay of Bengal. The service was really good, efficient and friendly. The food came out together and was all hot. In our opinion that was a good effort with the group we had. They were patient with us when it came to trying to sort out the bill. We enjoyed it and look forward to our next meal there.

Don’t take card payments - wonder why? 🆘HMRC🆘

First red flag was rude telephone order. Second was ignorant old guy at pick up reception counter. Should have walked out at that point. Lesson learned. Just putting £22 in the bin would have saved an hour of my life and a bin that smells of bad curry.
