Delicious food and a great time as always. Fantastic hospitality. Shout out to Sadid for looking after us!

Some good food - small sharing plates - in tiffin boxed and on metal plates. Excellent Goan fish curry. Swing seats at the front of the restaurant. Not sure about the fairy lights.

Good food and generous portions. Some of it can be quite spicy. It's on the main road so better walking or taxi as parking is always limited.

Tried 5 different dishes. The lamb curries tasted and smelled like goat. We had 2 small dishes which were more like Korean quisine than indian. Overall not impressed.

Enjoyed afternoon lunch with my daughter. Sadid looked after us, helped us choose from the extensive menu. Great service

The food is quite authentic and rather than using anything fancy they opted for south asian streetfood and homemade recipies. The only thing they diluted down is the heat, which might be feel a bit mild for South Asian/ subcontinental taste buds. But, on my request they adddd extra chili & chili oil to my Temple dahl. The tastes of curry reminded me of home. Their vegetarian options are also wide and tasty. Loved the reminder on the menu under Butter chicken that Tikka Masala does not exist in India! Great experience! Highly recommended.

Sadid was our server and he was fantastic. He explained how the menu worked and kept checking back to see if everything was OK. The food was just delicious, really really tasty and such a beautiful mix of flavours. The atmosphere was great. Will be back!

I was expecting the bare necessities but I got a lot more. Mowgli is a delightful Indian restaurant born from the bones of Cafe Rouge in the area of Hunters Bar, Sheffield. The eccentric and authentic dining experience is enhanced by the design and decor of the restaurant. Amber fairy lights adorn the interior and although the swinging benches do nothing to negate a choking risk they do add a jungle feel to the restaurant. The food was prepared quickly and the service was efficient, we were able to order more throughout our meal as we realized with dismay that we hadn't originally ordered enough but the food was delivered to us before we had finished the other dishes. The food was unlike what you would expect from other Indian restaurants with each dish having a unique flavor which had us entranced. Very delicious and not to bad for the bank.

The restaurant decor is lovely and a little bit different than usual, the atmosphere is nice and relaxing. The menu is large with lots of different flavours, so there will be something for everyone's taste. We had a large variety of dishes to share and we all enjoyed each one. I loved the Sticky Chicken and the Agra Chicken. There is a good vegetarian menu too. The service was swift, efficient and staff are friendly and knowlegeable about the menu. Our waiter Sadid was wonderful and looked after us perfectly. A really nice experience, so I would recommend a visit if you are looking for lovely food and great service.

Interesting tapas style.. try a variation of seafood, meat and veggie You won't go home hungry, and the decor is very warm and welcoming Staff are friendly and overall it's a very nice option for Indian food away from the usual restaurants

Rather slow start with regard to service. The food continues to come in taster size portions At £25 per diner, set meal + drinks + tip Creative flavours I had not experience elsewhere so 5 Star food experiment

Mowgli Street Food in Ecclesall road offers a good Indian dining experience with authentic dishes. Its quirky decor, including wooden swings, provides a cozy, bohemian ambiance. We ordered the mowgli house chicken, mowgli puri, mowgli basmati rice, which was very good. Mango lassi is must try too. Shoutout to Hannah for delivering exceptional hospitality.

Brilliant food, brilliant service would highly recommend

Delicious food and amazing service!! Really recommend the sticky chicken and for dessert the fried doughballs. Pricey, for 3 people with 10% tip it totalled just below £90 but that's with drinks and dessert, without those probably around £60-70. The swingy chairs were fun too :) Recommend booking even on weekdays.

Excellent food. Lots of flavours & choices. Service however, not by our server herself, she gets the one star, but by other staff members was uninterested. They like to stand around chatting. We were given a 90 minute dining slot but told after told 50 minutes we only had 40 minutes left. Felt very rushed. We had booked at 4.30. Not really peak time. Food was dumped on the table. A £32 bottle of wine put on table & not even opened let alone poured! Unacceptable behaviour especially when a 10% service is automatically added to the bill.

First time visiting Mowgli, Sheffield and what a fabulous time we had. We chose the £25pp sharing platter as we didn't know what to order. Found Mowgli after a recommendation by our hotel staff. Brilliant food and friendly staff. I think our favourite dishes were the ginger chicken and the angry bird (chicken thighs with mowgli slaw). Great experience - would definitely come back here.

Food was amazing! Delicious and very flavoursome. Angry bird and goan fish curry were definite highlights for sure. Sadid was a very attentive waiter, nothing was too much trouble and he was very patient and friendly. Service was quick and atmosphere was busy and lovely to be around so many people enjoying themselves.

Fabulous food, friendly staff, and a lovely cosy atmosphere. Didn't realise it was Indian style tapas, which makes it a little pricey, but it was super tasty food. Mocktail was beautiful (and the only thing I managed to take a photo of, the food was so good). They have a gluten friendly menu, but they can't make any guarantee about cross contamination. It's a personal risk I choose to take, but overall, it is not suitable for coeliacs. They offer ice cream as a dessert. It was nice to have the option of a gluten-free waffle cone.

La señora de enfrente de la casa me dijo que yo era el primero en llegar, sin embargo, ella ya la había sentado y dijo ooo Pensé que estaba aquí para llevar. Tuvimos varios servidores diferentes venir a pedirnos nuestros pedidos después de que pedimos (puedo agregar que había una mano llena de clientes esta noche, así que no estaba ocupado) También se seguían molestando si queríamos comida extra pedimos nuestro postre ya que lo pagamos, que preguntaron si queríamos extra a lo que tuvimos que recordarles que era parte del precio que pagamos. Como se mencionó la comida era increíble, pero pedimos la cuenta 4 veces un personal que pedimos no nos lo trajo que había apagado y se fue, cuando ella lo hizo traer nos dijo la cantidad total no nos dio la cuenta, así que no podía consultar el cargo por servicio hasta después. Seguro decir que no voy a volver

Whilst the food is amazing, this is overshadowed by the poor service received tonight and the automatic charity tip and service charge, the server told us amount the put the bill down when we'd already paid, to be honest its shambles, won't be returning really.

Went on a Friday night with a prebooked table to celebrate a very special occasion. The staff especially a male member of staff were extremely rude. We were told on several occasions that we need to hurry up and order and be done for 7:30 as they have a booking. Even though half the restaurant was empty at that point. The food itself was delicious but the portions for the price were too small. Especially roti and rice portion to go with curry were absolutely ridiculous. Our food was not delivered together had a few dishes first then had to wait for the rest. When asked another male member of staff if they can bring it together he said yesss he is bringing them all now but he has only two hands. I was stunned by the rudeness. We ended up with the mains only and left for another place to get desserts. Ruined a very special social gathering for a group of friends. Will never return to this overpriced place run by rude staff.

WOW! 🤩 This place is amazing! Lovely restaurant, lovely attentive staff and amazing food! It’s a dining adventure! My wife is coeliac and they cooked GF dishes separately and she loved being able to eat out with peace of mind. The rest of us shared our dishes and loved every single one! The only slightly negative thing I can say is, the swing seats could do with a cushion. Re-visited, have to say, it’s an amazing culinary journey every time. You order and share so many dishes with differing flavours.

Hola hice una queja sobre la sucursal de Sheffield de Mowgli, recibí una disculpa pero no hay ningún tipo de compensación o remedio a nuestra experiencia. Dejaré mi queja abajo... En primer lugar, el servicio que recibimos fue horrible, el personal fue muy grosero y abrupto con nosotros y nos dijo que no había espacio para nosotros cuando el restaurante estaba vacío, luego reservamos un espacio en línea durante 10 minutos y nos dijeron que no podían encontrar nuestra reserva durante 20 minutos hasta entonces, finalmente declarando que lo encontraron y no habían actualizado su página. Pedimos agua para nuestra mesa más de diez veces durante el transcurso de nuestra cena y nos dijeron que la traerían de inmediato en lo que deliberadamente no lo hicieron las 10 veces enteras hasta que subí y la compré yo mismo. Nos dieron platos que no pedimos y mientras que solo pidiendo un arroz y un roti nuestro servidor trajo y nos cobró por 2 cada uno! A pesar de que sólo pedimos uno. Nuestra comida cuando llegó se colocó en la mesa sin comentarios de los camareros y ni siquiera se comunicaron con nosotros. Somos de origen indio y se sentía muy atacado racialmente, no éramos más que encantadores para el personal, pero ni siquiera recibió una sonrisa de ellos una vez. Finalmente recibimos nuestra factura y nos entregaron una factura de £ 200 cuando nuestra factura era de solo £ 70 y después de esperar 20 minutos por un camarero finalmente se dieron cuenta de que no se disculparon y simplemente dijeron 'oh'. Cuando les pagamos recibimos no gracias todo lo que recibimos fue ‘¿es este el dinero?’ Y al salir ni siquiera un agradecimiento no fuimos completamente reconocidos. Nos dimos cuenta de que los miembros del personal eran perfectamente bien y agradable con los comensales caucásicos, pero como eran tan groseros con nosotros - la única gente étnica cenando - se sentía racialmente cargado. I made a complaint about the Sheffield branch of Mowgli, received an apology but no sort of compensation or remedy to our experience. I will leave my complaint down below - Firstly, the service we received was awful, the staff were very rude and abrupt with us and told us there was no space for us when the restaurant was empty, we then booked a slot online for 10 minutes time and they told us they could not find our booking for 20 minutes until then finally stating they found it and hadn’t refreshed their page. We asked for water for our table over ten times during the course of our dinner and was told they would bring it over right away in which they deliberately did not the entire 10 times until I went up and got it myself. We were given dishes we did not order and whilst only asking for one rice and one roti our server brought over and charged us for 2 each! Even though we only asked for one. Our food when it came was placed on the table with no comments from the waiters and they did not even communicate with us.We were nothing but lovely to the staff but did not even receive a smile out of them once. We finally received our bill and was handed a bill of £200 when our bill was only £70 and after waiting 20 minutes for a waiter they finally realised did not apologise and just said ‘oh’. When we paid them we received no thank you all we received was ‘is this the money?’ And upon leaving not even a thank you we were completely not acknowledged. We even paid the service charge which I now regret doing so. Will not visit again.

We visited Mowgli earlier this month and thoroughly enjoyed our food. Service was amazing. We were served by Sadid who explained everything very well in a nice, friendly manner. Ambience of the restaurant is great. We will definitely visit again if we travel to Sheffield.

Had an amazing time having dinner here last weekend! The food came out quickly and was so tasty- our waitress Lucy was so accommodating to my preferences and gave the best recommendations. This was such an enjoyable experience and I can't wait to visit again soon!

To start it looks beautiful inside with the lighting. The food was lovely we went for the sharing menu at 25 quid a head, was great value for money. Our server Sadid was brilliant and really helpful. First time trying Mowgli and we will definitely be coming back! What a lovely date night.

Service was great, we were hosted by Sadid and taken through the menu and how the ordering works. Food and drinks were lovely, would highly recommend the gunpowder chicken! Plenty of gluten free options as well (including gluten free ice cream cones!). Overall had a really nice time and will definitely be back in the future.
