Went here as a walk in last night with some friends. Great food and service . Ordered a lamb dish with olives and it was lovely. Our host chatted about footy as well .

Legit the best curry restaurant and takeaway in / around Farnham. It's been our go-to for several years.

This is the short version....... Poor service in every way. Starters - ok. Mains- Plates, serving dishes, and hot plate not hot. Practically Cold rice veg and naan. Lukewarm main courses. Pushy waiter seemed to want to hurry us along. Initial bill £125, which we paid, waiter came back to say he'd made a mistake and asked for another £3 So now £128 (3 of us) We'd only had 1 bottle of 'house' wine and a shandy and thought this was a bit steep, asked for a copy of the bill, which seemed to cause offence, totted it up and they'd overcharged us by £23 Won't be going back!

Pushy waiter kept coming to the table seemingly trying to hurry us along, Didn't bring a wine list even though we asked for one, we requested a bottle of house white and a shandy, but had no idea of cost and he didn't tell us. Starters were ok but the when the mains arrived.... The plates were cold, the dishes were cold, the veg was cold as was the rice and the naan, and the main courses were no better than 'warm' We didn't complain because we were a bit cheesed off by then and it was unlikely we'd be returning. When the bill arrived it was £125 (for 3 of us)having paid that he came back, said he'd made a mistake and asked for a further £3, so £128 in total, thinking this was a bit steep we asked for a copy of the bill and guess what, we'd been overcharged by £23. He was apologetic but all a bit too late, even gave us a bottle of wine to take with us but sadly the damage was done by then, evening spoilt!

Should be a Japanese restaurant as my a** is like the flag. Had a takeaway from here for the first and last time. We ordered a lamb byrani and chicken pasanda. The byrani was nice but the pasanda tasted of old/gone off chicken and the sauce was not a pasanda. We did ask for the sauce to be hot, expecting a few chili’s in it, however the sauce had been mixed with a tomato sauce which tasted awful and rancid. I can deal with the sauce but the chicken has made my insides feel like Chernobyl. We called to inform the restaurant in which they didn’t seem to care and passed me around 3 people including the chef? They said they will sort something out for us next time, this is not what we wanted, we simply called to inform them and they didn’t seem to care. I hope no one else has the chicken otherwise the NHS will be in turmoil.

Really lovely meal for my dad's birthday. Brilliant service. My husband said its the best curry he's had.

Annoyed! Checked the website and google and showed as open Tuesday lunchtime (12-2), as a courtesy I called the night before to book a table, left 2 messages with my name, number and time of booking. I asked for a call or text back to confirm but didn't hear back (Didn't overly bother me as it opened at 12 anyway and I didn't think it would be fully booked at 12.30 on a Tuesday lunch time)... Long story short I met a friend who travelled up from Brighton at 12.30 and it was closed!. Luckily could pop down the road to the Ball and Wicket and had a lovely meal!

We have been several times for the Sunday deal, with family members. Service and food 👍🏼 excellent! Value for money also 👌 excellent! Five of us are going this Sunday, 5th November 2023 and looking forward to it!

I am sorry but the food was tasteless, not seasoned and literally no spice despite what was suggested on the menu. Maybe you just had a bad night or the chef was off? The meals were served warm, not hot, on cold plates.

Visited this place with high hopes, unfortunately very disappointed. The service was slow, and they forgot our rice and naan. Had to ask 3 times and when they finally arrived we had already finished our curry. We have the same with the deserts ordered 4 and only got 3 of the and had to ask again multiple times. When the bill came to guy kept asking for a tip. Very rude attitude Would not recommend this place

Very good Indian restaurant that has maintained its consistency over the years. A reliable Indian treat.

Not like our first visit. This time the waiter acted like we were an inconvenience, he never smiled, and passed us drinks from the few steps to our table. The food was good, lemonade was flat. Then he hurried us out a back door when we left, like he wanted rid of us. He was appalling. Won’t go again. That one waiter ruined it.

Was made to feel uncomfortable from the moment we arrived . Rushed service from start to finish . Tasteless food , korma came out watery then hovered around while we checked the bill which was incorrect as we felt we'd been overcharged and when challenged the waiter tried to add another round of drinks to the bill . Certainly would never return and definitely wouldn't recommend to anyone in the area .

Went on a Sunday night. Staff were great and very much on the case. The food was excellent, highly recommend the Goan Lamb. Couldn't fault and would definitely go again for a takeaway or sit down.

We have just had a take away, I always have chicken tikka masala, with pilau rice. This was not chicken tikka masala, the rice was not very nice either. I have never had a bad meal from here before.

Food nice, service not so good. Made to feel like an inconvenience by turning up to order a takeaway! Only allowed one menu between 2 people, reluctantly served us a drink whilst we waited for t/a. Shame as food was good but won't be going there again.

The staff were continually hovering around close to our table. Even before we had finished eating. They wanted to take plates away. Very uncomfortable They weren't particularly friendly. I would not go back there.

Gave this restaurant another chance after a disappointing visit many years ago, but it was comfortable , welcoming and the food was excellent. The menu is more varied than the average Indian restaurant and the presentation and flavours were faultless .It’s going to be my new Indian meal destination of choice for sure.

I would say the recent reviews left by others just don't do justice to our experience at the restaurant. I would agree, the service can be a little slow especially on a Friday/ Saturday night when they are extremely busy with tables and takeaways. I think on the nights when it's really busy it's good to be a little patient because it's worth waiting for. In my recent experience, the food was really tasty I mean really tasty, especially the chilli chicken fry and garlic chilli chicken tikka. We ordered the mara aloo as opposed to the usual bombay aloo and it was peppery and spicy. As far as service was concerned, we didn't feel too overwhelmed or harassed by the staff. Overall, a great experience again. We'll be sure to take friends and family again.

Even though we had booked a table, it felt like no-one was expecting us and there was no chef available to cook anything but a limited menu. A very disappointing experience and we won't be going back.

The website is REALLY outdated using flash which hasn't been used for years. This makes their website unusable. Having been there before a few years ago we booked again but it has definitely gone down hill. The most irritating part of the meal was the constant request for our drink order. We were asked 6 times despite saying we wanted to choose our food before choosing our wine choice. Did they want us to order just to ensure we stayed? I'm not sure but it was incredibly irritating. The food was ok, not brilliant but ok. The main course was mainly sauce with a bit of chicken in. I may have been our choices of meals but it was quite disappointing. The rice was tasty and the naan was very good. The bog standard "stuff out the freezer" which added to the disappointing meal. Don't think we'll be returning which is a shame as it used to be a treat to visit.

It’s been a while since we visited this venue as a club, and it had a period of closure through the pandemic, so we were pleased to get a large group (19) of our members together on a hot and sticky night in August. The booking process was easy, and we were welcomed by the pleasant staff members. After being served a first drink, we studied the menu and placed our orders. Time for a chat and to tell some stories … sadly, after Popadoms and associated chutneys, it seemed like we had too much time to fill. The service was very slow, and sadly a habit that seems to be creeping in to some venues raised its head again; the apparent delay in serving food to prioritise taking further drink orders. This is frustrating and then when the food did appear, there were several dishes missing, food brought out in a completely different order to the table layout, and in more than one case, warm/cold food arriving some time after the first service. The food quality was generally good with some very tasty dishes on the table, and the ability to change what was on the menu in terms of added spice/heat as desired. Overall, a good night with friends and good food, let down by the wait for the main dishes and overall lacking service finesse.

Distinctly average. Nothing to shout about, but wasn't terrible. Carrots were in everything, which was weird.

Food was good but some of the staff were very miserable looking. Wouldn’t go again, wouldn’t trust them over the bill. If you go, make sure you keep a note of how much your bill should be. Our bill came to £225, fairly reasonable for 8 people, we didn’t keep a tally of what it should be but that seemed ok. Whilst paying, one of the waiters, could have been manager I don’t know, anyway he looked at the bill and said, one round of drinks had been missed off. He took the bill away then said it was another £23, didn’t really explain why they had been missed. Or what drinks he was referring too. He said we could pay £20 for cash. We don’t think anything had been missed off, he was definitely trying to pull a fast one. We paid the extra but told him you can have that as your tip. Wouldn’t go again,

Wow! What an evening! Myself and 7 friends came to Bengal Lounge on Wednesday 27th April for my birthday meal. The staff were very friendly and attentive! The food was delicious there was no waiting around to have to order more drinks. They came round and done check backs and would have a laugh and joke with us. The bar staff made me a delicious drink for my birthday I can't tell you what it was as he didn't want us to no his secret! I wish I knew it though! Was great! Me and my friends had a fantastic time! Thank you to all the staff. You all done amazingly! Great customer service. Will definitely be back!

Best Indian food in Farnham for both take out and dine in!

My parents and I were mightily impressed this evening. They were very busy with lots of takeaways going. We were especially pleased with the food despite the fact that apparently they were very short staffed in the restaurant. The service could have been faster but I’m totally sympathetic as we were not disappointed with the meal at all. The flavours were pretty incredible. I really liked the chicken chilli fry and sashlick bhuna. We hope to visit again soon as we are not local. Highly recommended!!!!

Food was bland greasy mint sauce tasted a little off use to be good but this is second time in row food not up to standard won't be a third time

On the recommendation of a Brummy, now softie Southerner acquaintance "who knows a good curry". The food is literally a wonder of the world. So many flavours in each mouthful. Its a pleasure for the palette. Simply divine. Would love to be taught their recipes. A cooking school by Bengal. I'd sign up in a flash.

I’ve used this place on and off over the past 10 years. It used to be my go to place to take friends or family for a really good meal with excellent service. Over the past 5 years it’s been declining in both areas. My sister came to stay and we decided on a takeaway after the cinema. The naan bread was cold and didn’t have any garlic on at all. The onion bhaji was cold, greasy and pretty grim. Most of the food had to be heated in the microwave before it could be eaten and the quality came in at “just edible”. The attitude from the staff is as if they’re doing you a favour rather than being happy that you’ve decided to come in as paying customers. It’s not even cheap to offset the poor quality and arrogant attitude! That’s the last time I’ll be using it.

Recommend by owners family member and wasn’t disappointed! Good value, great tasting food. Quiet in the week, w’end is busy as you would like expect for Farnham area. Host happy to have a chat, and recommend dishes. Will look forward to my next visit.

Collected a takeaway, lovely restaurant with a nice atmosphere. Food was good, perhaps above the average standard but I’ve had better Indian food. The service is very odd. Pretty cold, with no real courtesy.

Since the Bengal Lounge had been recommended to us by a friend, we decided to try it, booking a table for 6:45 p.m. After parking in the large adjacent car park, we entered the restaurant and were politely shown to our table. The menu was extensive, with many of our Indian and Bangladeshi favourites — so much so that we had difficulty choosing (a good problem to have!). The staff were, quiet, attentive, and efficient: throughout the meal: they were always there when needed but without in any way making us feel in the least bit rushed. The surroundings and napery were equally excellent. The food was simply superb, with both subtle and punchy-where-needed spicing making for a delicious meal. Our only deep regret is that we hadn't tried this great restaurant before now, but we'll be back — that's for sure!

Our first visit and great food and atmosphere. Unfortunately one staff member, maybe the boss(?) was rude and his customer service leads a lot to be desired! No dialogue, no please and thank yous even when paying and leaving a tip. This let the place down in my opinion.

I moved to this area in november 2019 so almost one year ago. Iv been getting takeaways from here at least twice a week ever since. Everytime i get a takeaway its 20 pounds, which is unusual as my takeaways are never the same combination. I know im being over charged twice a week for nearly a year but the foods great and i thought it was only by 3 to 4 pounds each time which really didn't bother me. Then i sat down and went through the menu and iv been over charged by a minimum of 5 pounds on every takeaway for nearly a year, thats over 400 pounds in a year. So tonight i decided to test out my theory. I ordered chicken tikka biriyani and meat samosas which has a menu price of 14.20 on there website but again it came to 20 pounds. Iv been a loyal customer for nearly a year, having 2 takeaways a week and turning a blind eye to being overcharged thinking it was only 3 to 4 pounds each time. But it turned out it was over 5 pounds each time. Great food, great restaurant but for some reason they just decided to treat me like a fool from day 1.

I got a takeaway from this restaurant. I confess that I usually go to the Farnham Tandoori but this was much much better. The mixed grill was nothing short of excellent, the naan bread light and perfectly cooked and the vegetable curries above average. I will definitely go again. The owner was particularly charming. Altogether first class take away tandoori.

Staff are lovely spirits. Brummy mate has compared all of Farnham and reckons this is the best! Discovered taste buds I didn’t know I had! Staff attentive, warm welcoming. Creative chefs. Deluxe!

The service here has never been good. It boarders on rude. I never minded when the food used to be consistently good. The last few times the food has been disappointing and sometimes cold. I won’t be going here again.

I cannot complain about the food at this restaurant, but I can’t say I was impressed with the service. The meal took a while to come, even though the restaurant wasn’t overly busy, but the main downside was the surliness of the staff. No welcome, no smiles, for me customer service is very much a part of the dining experience, therefore I don’t think we will return.

My wife and I came here on the spur of the moment as a birthday treat for me and we were glad we did. We ate early as we always do and the restaurant was pretty empty (one of the reasons we eat early). We both had starters and main and both were well cooked and hot. The staff were friendly and efficient.

ate here Saturday night with my husband. waited quite a while for our food. I only ordered a shashlick, but the chicken wasn't very hot and was plain, not marinated at all. my husbands curry wasn't very hot either. The naan bread and bhaji were very good though. rice wasn't hot either.

Ordered a take away on Saturday night, had to wait 45 min when I arrived, after calling 45 min earlier. The restaurant clearly couldn’t cope as people in the restaurant were also complaining. Staff were helpful, but wasn’t offered a drink compensation. The meal was tasty, so a plus, but time to go elsewhere.

Once again we enjoyed thoroughly delicious meal in a spotlessly clean and comfortable restaurant. Nothing was too much trouble for the attentive staff - excellent service.

So far, I have only used this as a takeaway, but fully intend to visit at some point for a meal out. I can recommend this as a great takeaway.

A little light and airy for my liking, I prefer dark and cosy Indian restaurants but the food was lovely and the staff were fun and friendly.

Nice place for a curry service ok

We visited in a party of 5 on a Saturday evening. Service was reasonable given how busy they were, although they did forget our stuffed paratha and ended up bringing it towards the end of the meal. There's a huge range of traditional dishes on the menu so plenty to choose from and all the dishes we had were tasty though not outstanding. It's obviously a popular place, and while I've had better curries elsewhere, I would be happy to return.

1 1/2 hours and still waiting for the main course so gave up and left. Unfortunately they seem to prioritise take aways on busy nights. Real shame.

We all normally love the food at this restaurant and so the night before her birthday we took our family here for a meal. I’ve must admit the food here is the best from any Indian in this area. Tonight was no exception. However I rarely knock a good restaurant but tonight their normal jovial humour was not there. Although everything came in good time their mood was subdued and very straight faced. They forgot the mushroom barge although they didn’t change for it. So my upshot is that although the food is indeed the best around, tonight the service was not great hence the 4stars. Still a great restaurant.
