Really impressed. Food was very good with all of us (eight in total) having different dishes that everyone loved. The staff were really good with recommendations to make sure we got we were craving.

We live in Bramley and have always enjoyed The Champan … having been to Maya a couple of times now the team have really stepped up the offer - an absolutely delicious meal tonight - well done.

Very happy to see this place in the small village of Bramley. Though I would not recommend the vegetable biryani which was a bit lacking in flavour, the rest of the food was really good - in particular the Chaat Puri starter. Service was very friendly and the restaurant in general had a nice relaxed atmosphere.

I had an takeaway order from Maya last night. I was a bit dubious about the place but the service and quality of food I received is amazing. My order arrived on time hot and in good packaging. All of the dishes were delicious. Tandoori dishes were moisture locked inside the meat and not too dry. Curry dishes were felt like hot but did not linger in my mouth for long to give intolerable impression. I would definitely recommend the place as food and service was great.

Lovely venue. Low ceiling in a really old building. As far as could see everything looked clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Had pappadams with a great selection of chutneys onions. For starters I had Lamb Tikka. Little disappointed. Was a little bland and a bit chewy. Was it cooked in a tandoori oven? Next had Lamb Korma, mushroom rice and onion bahjis. Rice and the bahjis were fine. However the Lamb Korma was all sauce and only counted 4 pieces of lamb. The sauce was not what I expected. Had this dish many times and this one certainly tasted nothing like previous ones I have had in the past. Something wasn't quite right. Overall, the venue and staff were great. However the food was disappointing 5 out of 10 for me.

Staff very friendly. The menu was different to your usual curry house which was a nice change but everything was a little dry and needed a bit more sauce

Really enjoyed our first meal at Maya last weekend. The staff and service were excellent. So lovely to speak to the owner at the end of the meal. The food was so good. Tasty and really freshly made. We will definitely be regulars at Maya from now on.

My experience recently since changing name and ownership: Bengal Tiger with prawn - outstanding. Railroad Lamb - disappointing. Lacking in depth of flavour and only got 4 bones. Basically no meat at all. Chicken briyani- disappointing. Dry, shredded chicken in dry average tasting rice. Naan - very good. Onion salad - basically just onion. Also not convinced the 15% discount was applied.

My partner and I had a takeaway curry for the first time a couple of days ago and were really impressed. We normally order from Ashuka. The Chicken Tikka Dhansak was 10/10. The tandoori chicken was cooked perfectly, naan was delicious and so were the veggie sides. Our takeaway was delivered within 30 mins of ordering and the gentleman who dropped it off was so friendly. Would definitely recommend ordering from here.

Probably the best Indian food I've ever had. Moist, falling apart meat in very well balanced sauces - not too spicy. Great service, owner very personable and a chef from Brick Lane apparently. It's just delicious.

Everything was absolutely perfect all in all was 10/10 I give. The service, the friendly staff all were absolutely wonderful and over that food was delectable than expected. Very tasty and hot, good quality food. Also good portion for the price. Staff was so perfect they came oftenly and was making sure we were okay. Great hotel and food. As this restaurant has been open for 3weeks my family thought we would try this place & we wasn’t disappointed, the staff were really friendly, we will definitely go back, it is well worth a visit price is reasonable for how fresh & the quantity of food we will definitely return & recommend to anyone to try this place

Returned to this location under new ownership with experience. A very big change for the better. New name and new menu. Curry was so fresh and tasty and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Will come here instead of driving into Godalming in future. Highly Recommend.

We really enjoy coming to this place. We are regular customers, a family of six and the plates are always cleared. The food is cut above the standard. And the new menu is really interesting and authentic. It’s cooked with a lot of care and well presented.

From the hand painted menu covers to the amazing food my experience at Maya Cuisine was second to none. The menu is full of dishes that all sound amazing and nothing we tried disappointed. I highly recommend you give this restaurant a try.

Not been for years, so we went back to try again, is a lovely, cosy little place, my food could have been hotter but overall good food, we ordered pompadoms seemed bit dry, we not say anything but few mins later waiter returned & brought new plateful saying he tht 1st lot not good enough! 2nd lot were better. Nam bread very nice &hot. Ordered tea & coffee was v bitter (poss instant?) no cream until we asked, we had to get his & his colleague's attention yet when there were no other customers they were attentive, family came in with young lad they knew yet his family & staff (incl manager) let him run around restaurant/go near other customers trying to enjoy meal/chat, they need to make sure customers behave & not encroach on others, this is a restaurant not a carvery! Overall a fairly good experience, just a few issues they need to sort, we would return

I won’t go anywhere else for Indian food. Every meal has always been delicious and the staff are always courteous. Highly recommend this restaurant. In fact, we are Off there Soon for yet another of their meals. One of my favourites is the tandoori prawns. Absolutely delicious… and the onion rice. yum

Food delivery was poor quality, was not fresh, not warm, samosas and Bhaji tasted stale, would not order again.

Thank you to Liton who looked after us so well. Beautiful food and lovely wine. We will definitely be back. You can get the menu pop next door to the Jolly Farmer pub which has the best beer in Surrey .. order your food and arrive in the restaurant with your meal ready. A perfect combination.

Great staff, friendly team, family run and great food. So lucky to have this as our local Indian! We go at least twice a month as do all our neighbours.

This well hidden secret is absolutely worth a visit. I went to this restaurant a few days ago and was very impressed with the food. We ordered a Chicken Buna and a Chicken Korai and they were delicious. Excellent service and will definitely be visiting again. Highly recommend this restaurant and they do take aways too!!! Can’t praise this place enough

Spent £50 on a delivered meal for 4 of us. Food was old and tasted over/ out of date. Was definitely turning. Husband up all night in the bathroom. 1st and last time I will order from here.

I live in Bramley and I don't always order the same thing everytime. As I have tried most of the things I like. I would have to say that I found it pretty delicious. It tasted fresh and was delivered with a smile!

Really impressed with the meal….. We had lamb naga, chicken korma, lamb korai and lots of sides… and all of them were as good as we have had anywhere. All tasted fresh and full of flavour. The beer was cold and fresh, and the staff were lovely. Looking forward to another visit as soon as possible.

I recently moved to Bramley and ordered a takeaway to be delivered last night. It was really good food, turned up sooner than expected and overall I was really impressed. I'll definitely be ordering form them again!

Amazing curry all freshly made to order

We could not fault the size of the portions - lamb, chicken and king prawns, etc. Indeed, my own rougan josh came with lots of chicken and abundant tomatoes. But the four of us agreed that what was missing was taste. All in all it was rather bland, which is not what Indian is about. A good example was the naga lamb that lacked any of the kick that ought to come with it.

Not sure if it is the fact that the Restaurant cannot open and this is causing some issues but this is not the Champan of old. The quality of the food has been lowering for some time now and unfortunately it is now very poor. The last takeway was simply cheap dry chicken cuts in a sauce it was not Indian cooking just a hot mix. I could have produced better from a jar. Disappointing as this really was (is?) a great Indian Restaurant. Best pick up the quality Champan and keep the regulars chomping for the reopening or risk losing them permanently to others restaurants.

Very bad Indian food.... To start part of the order was missing... What was ment to be lamb tikka was actually chicken tikka... And all the food was so greasy... All in all The worst take away I've ever eaten... Such a shame as this place used to be so nice it's hard to believe it's the same place.

Went here for the first time as my friend recently moved into the area so we had a take out. I love Asian food but felt on this occasion the food was bland, way too oily and one of the dishes they got wrong. We couldn’t be bothered to take it back. But we probably won’t revisit unfortunately.

The whole Champan experience was amazing. The service was brilliant, the atmosphere was great and the food was outstanding! Don't know why there is a single bad review, must have been to a different Champan to the one I went to as I have nothing but great things to say about the establishment.

1 star food hygiene rating? Kind of wish I’d looked at this before I went rather than after. Food was fairly average. A few of our group jokingly commented that the starters tasted like they’d been prepared yesterday but looking at their hygiene rating they probably were.

I'm a little surprised by the negative reviews. I've been frequenting the Champan since 1991 and have never been disappointed. My meals of choice are King Prawn Butterfly (starter), Mixed Grill (main) with Pilau rice, mushroom bhaji and a tarka dal. Kingfisher beer. Sometimes a king prawn madras on pilau rice. I have never been disappointed there. I also have the occasional takeout, which again I have never been disappointed.

This place lacks life! Needs a huge update and some life. The food is disgusting this place does not even deserve 1 out of 5. Th The service is very poor! Overall don’t go here !

Sad to say the food was bland, the beer was flat, and the prices were high for what you get. Add to that some very weird decorations and it's a place I'd rather forget

Ordered a takeaway and it was awful. When i collected the curry the staff were frankly rude and found out later that the curry was oily and the chicken was under cooked. Not coming here again....

Not sure if they are trying to accommodate the western palate or if we just chose the wrong dishes as takeaway....we had the chicken tikka masala, chicken Korai, lamb madras and pilau rice, along with garlic naan and tarka dal, but I must say it’s the most mediocre indian takeaway i have had i a long time. the curries were sweet, required lots of salt and all in all, very disappointing . Certainly won’t be ordering there again .

We really enjoy eating here - with the kids or with friends. The atmosphere is great, the staff are friendly and the food is tasty. This isn’t your London style chi chi foo foo curry house. This is a great, traditional local one. Thanks to the staff and management for providing this establishment locally for us all to enjoy.

Good, attentive service. Good value for money. Food was okay. Nothing bad just no wow factor. That said, I'd go again.
