Yet another excellent home delivery with piping hot food. Excellent service and quality of food at realistic prices. We will certainly be using the Darjeeling again and again.

Monday evening dinner - a lot of Farnham is closed tonight but the Darjeeling is buzzing. The Chefs Special was delicious and the wife tucked into a perfectly spiced Garlic Chili Chicken.

We regularly dine and order takeaway from here. Lovely staff, delicious food, enjoyable experience all round.

The food was quite good. rice is not included in the dish we orderded, very odd. I ordered a pot of tea but the teapot contained just 1 cup! a crumpy man served us and charged us a lot of money for the pappadums + sauses without giving any information about the price of it in advance

Pleasantly surprised by Darjeeling in Farnham. 20 of us visited for a college’s leaving bash and the he service was spot on considering we were a large crowd. Drinks and food orders were accurate and served promptly. The only slight criticism was that I thought the portion sizes were a little small compared to other Indian restaurants I’ve been to, and I’ve been to a lot. Would recommend this restaurant in Farnham.

A decent curry house. Recommended.

Sadly, this place has gone downhill massively. Very expensive for what they served, portions small and not much meat in the curries, 4 different curries all pretty much the same, staff not so great either. Also, air conditioning not working. Unfortunately we couldn’t leave quick enough.

Top notch service, I love the waiters here and they have great recommendations, I told them my preferred spice level and meat choice and they picked a fabulous curry for me. I also loved the mango lassi here! Looking forward to coming back!

We ordered up a home delivery for three of us on Thurs 20 June. The order was taken promptly and efficiently over the phone as was payment. Within less than 45 minutes our absolutely superb piping hot food arrived. We all loved our meals and I especially enjoyed the Korai Tandoori King Prawn, Chicken Korma, Beef Ginger with two Pilau Rice, Onion Bhaji, Bombay Aloo, Sag Penner and a Peshwari Naan all were simply superb thank you for yet another brilliant meal. As you can imagine we had lots left over so lunch/dinner today is sorted👌🍽️😋

Quick stop during business visit. Had to ask numerous times for things like water, but food order was perfect and good food. Staff were polite. Would return.

Fabulous food, really tasty, just the right amount and very quick. It was a shame the server didn’t have any manners or people skills. A smile goes a long way. He literally put the food down on the table and didn’t serve it to the person who ordered it. Was a little strange.

Would rather take phone orders than sit you in restaurant took time getting seated then took 10 mins for first drink even longer for second king prawn dish £18 for four prawns and when bill came had charged us double on drinks be careful will over charge you on drinks meal for 2 over £80

Having not been here for a while I am very disappointed with the way they now run this very popular restaurant. The food was ok but the service was terrible. No attention paid to customers, staff very well trained in avoiding any form of eye contact. No attention to detail eg plate of popadooms blinked on table .. no plate , napkin or cutlery. Lady waitress in full eye vision with her back to the whole restaurant tables for the duration of the meal. Sorry but this place has become too complacent with no care to customers unless with a group of 10 or more guys just wanting beers and a place to let off steam. Sorry again this used to be a nice place for a good meal and good ambiance.. now only a place of complacency.

The BEST Indian food!!! Chicken biryani is A1!! As well as the curries, garlic naan, and poppadums with chutney. Service is unmatched and the ambience is elite and very classy. The owner is so genuine and welcoming.

We got asked to move halfway through our meal which we were more than happy to do so, however, I asked for a free drink in compensation but i was told “we dont do this, this is a ridiculous ask”…I think it was a fairly reasonable ask for their lack of planning for their “busy” night ahead. I have been to many busy restaurants in my time and have never been asked to move before. We received our free drinks with reluctance but nonetheless, we got them, so thank you. The food itself was lovely, no complaints towards the food, but the lack of management towards the seating and arrangement of customers was low par.

We had our family visiting us to celebrate my birthday and we all decided to have a Darjeeling Takeaway delivered. The food was simply amazing and we all had such great meals. As usual with six people eating we choose far to much food and in fact had three full dishes of food left over. Everyone really enjoyed the quality and taste of the meals delivered. We had the remaining food the next day as another meal and just simply cannot find a fault with the service, delivery, food and pricing. Thank you for yet another memorable and delicious meal.

No issues, happy to accommodate large parties and all food was out at the same time. Recommend.

We decided to have a home delivery from The Darjeeling and phoned on Thursday Evening at 18:30. We ordered up a Tandoori Mixed Grill which comes with a Nambe Bread, and a Chicken Tikka Korma. We also had a Pilau Rice and a Bombay Aloo (Potato). The food was delivered promptly within 45 minutes and was absolutely piping hot. The quality of the food was simply superb and we both really enjoyed our meals. We would highly recommend as you can only speak as you find. Thank you for a terrific meal.

Ordered a takeaway for 8 people, all ordered different things, when it came nothing was written on any of the cartons to say what it was what apart from the three naan breads. It all looked the same and very watery and tasteless £148 waisted

On a blustery November evening, fifteen members of the club went to the warm and welcoming Darjeeling restaurant for the last regular meeting of the year. We’ve been here before and the menu doesn’t disappoint, there are some great dishes on offer, although this is among the pricier venues that we have been to recently. The evening went well with good service and tasty food. After the bill was paid, and somewhat bizarrely, a staff member circulated our group asking individual members for tips. This was weird, as it was the first we remember having seen of him.

Noisy Saturday, as always ;( lamb in dish tough, chewy and not much there. Service too fast, quick table turnover? No time to chat. Then took ages to pay. Gents toilet partially operable, blocked urinals.

You do not need the billing address for a credit card. Untrustworthy and ended up not ordering. After taking the delivery address the person was asking for billing address, this forced us to cancel the order, however money was taken then refunded, so the billing address was not required (it never is) for delivery orders. Be warned this restaurant currently has a member of staff stealing credit card and personal data and clearly reselling.

We had a table for 6 booked at 18:30 on Thursday evening 2 November. We were given a lovely warm welcome and made to feel quite at home. Service was excellent and our host Ahmed could not do enough for us. We had a superb meal with poppadom's as an appetisers followed by six excellent starters. I particularly loved the Kind Prawn starter which was amazing. The mains arrived with all our separate side dishes of Pilau rice, Bombay aloo etc and all were just divine. Again I personally opted for the King Prawn dish in Jalfrezi sauce which was wonderful. All our food was excellent and we could not find any negatives. Three of us opted for a dessert and these again were lovely as ice cream with a flake always goes down well. If you have never eaten here before it is certainly worth going and enjoying the food and service. If driving you can either park in Sainsburys car park opposite or the central car park around the corner. The Darjeeling is situated in South Street. Thank you all for a memorable and wonderful evening, we will certainly be back again.

Just had a very nice visit to Darjeeling on a Friday evening. The food (veg mix starter and chicken vindaloo with peshwari naan) was amazing, staff were very polite and accommodating and the atmosphere as a whole was very pleasant.

Really nice Indian restaurant that we have been to a few times. The food is always lovely but it's always busy, so be prepared to not hear the person sitting across the table from you!

THE best Indian meal we’ve had in a long time, great flavours, and no excessive ghee. The house red wine was a Cote de Rhone and at perfect temperature. All reasonably priced. The service was friendly professional and slick.

I hate slagging any restaurant off because I know it's peoples livelihoods, but the food here was trully awful. Tikka paneer that was tasteless & prawns that were like bullets. The rice's were nice but my boyfriend had to put loads of salt into the daal just to taste something. Service was great and they were all really lovely people. Just a shame about the food. Sorry.

Good service but food below standard. Very little meat in both dishes ordered, being replaced by excess vegetables. This effected flavour.

The Darjeeling has become are top choice for Indian takeaway on Farnham. Each dish we've tried tasted amazing - not oily or lacking in flavour like other places we've tried. Would highly recommend.

Most delicious takeaway I’ve had for ages! They have an excellent Chef at The Darjeeling. Staff are so friendly. I’m taking some friends there next Monday. Having the same again for sure 👍

This place has put its prices up to an excessive level blaming inflation I was told, however now they think they have got away with that they have imposed shrinkflation on us! The portion sizes have now reduced for the same inflated price. They think we don’t notice, and when I queried a half portion of Saag Bhaji and the tiny onion Bhaji’s I was told that this was all I was getting! So the poor staff didn’t get a tip sadly for them and it’s not their fault! Come on guys who run this place, we want to support you as your food is decent but please be fair with us in return? Put the portion sizes back up to standard please.

We went here for a works meal. There were 32 of us on Friday night. Everyone has said how the food was great, the staff friendly, service was fab. If we wanted more there it was no trouble at all. 100% will be going back

We have been coming here for a good few years and have always had excellent food. However this time all the food had been watered down and didnt taste nice at all. Very disappointed and will not be coming back.

A friend and myself visited this restaurant in the evening of Good Friday 2023 arriving as booked at 8 pm and we were appalled !! firstly the meal cost just over £100 for two of us to eat a very average meal and a couple of beers , but the main problem was it felt the staff were rushing us through every course, for example we were asked 5 times did we want to order desert and they took our main course away before we had properly finished, then at the end of the meal we were asked if wanted to leave a tip and the very rude head waiter was clearly indignant when we flatly refused and made us both feel very uncomfortable, I have eaten in this restaurant on and off for over 30 years and will never set foot in that dreadful place again - don’t go there it’s that simple

I picked up a takeaway today… the chicken tikka was awful 😢 It was like “meatballs” of chicken, for how moist and inconsistent the bites were… I’m not talking about tenderness that we all love… it literally had the texture of something previously chewed… it was like eating a jar of baby food with chicken. Had to leave half of my dish… really disappointed after the £20 spent for a main and 2 sides…

I'm sorry but it was just a waste of money. Probably the most boring Indian meal I've had in a long time. My chicken jalfrezi neither met the chicken nor the chillis that were supposed to be in it. The same for the biryani and veg curry. Come on I know things are tight but...so so bland.

Farnham doesn't have a decent Indian restaurant

We were staying in the area and husband wanted a curry. We found this restaurant and went in. Unfortunately my curry was pretty tasteless and had cashews nuts. I have never seen cashew nuts in a tikka but that just may be that it’s something this restaurant does. There was not a lot of taste in the accompaniments either really. My husbands curry on the other hand was meant to be quite mild and nearly blew me away with the amount of spice. The atmosphere was ok but it’s always rather uncomfortable when the waiting staff hover. Sorry but not for me.

Surrey Live has this restaurant as one of three contenders for best Indian restaurant in the country. Sadly, I wouldn’t rate it as the best Indian restaurant in South Street and it’s the only one…. The only tasty part of the meal was was the poppadoms which were fresh and crispy but the accompanying mint sauce was tasteless. My chicken shashlick was so dry it was inedible, bland tasteless rice and the cheese naan had no cheese…. So very disappointing.

I was very disappointed with the food at this restaurant. The rice came cold and the fish jalfrezi that I had ordered had no flavour and was tasteless this dish had about four little pieces of fish and the rest was big chunks of onions and peppers . I tried the chicken korma again this was tasteless. None of my group enjoyed their food everthing that we ordered was tasteless . . Service was good but I will not be visiting this restaurant anytime soon . They need to improve on their food and not serve it cold

Always the highest quality food, service with a smile and a lovely friendly greeting. No hesitation to recommend this fine place for all your Indian food. A pleasure to visit.

This was the curry club’s March venture and, as usual, the booking was made for 20 members. With some unexpected confirmed and suspected COVID cases amongst the group, we eventually arrived with 9 for dinner. This was no issue for the welcoming staff, who gave us a large table on one side of the restaurant. With drinks on the table and food ordered from the ample menu, we chatted over popadoms and pickles. The main meals were delivered exactly to order, and despite not feeling rushed at all, very quickly. Top marks for the quality of the food; there was a range of different choices across the table, and not a complaint was heard. The very reasonable bill was settled and we were on our way, somewhat earlier than usual, without doubt due to the excellent service. The evening was most enjoyable, and we would be more than happy to go back. Highly recommended!

The staff were almost apologetic about the food they were serving. I ordered tandoori chicken. It took a long time so I assumed it was fresh. It was sooooo dry. I couldn’t eat it. Must have been yesterday’s. Or Wednesday’s. It’s a treat for us go out occasionally. I won’t be going there again.

8pm on a Saturday. Party of 3 We waited over an hour for our food. Drinks were extremely slow on the occasion the order wasn’t lost. The staff were full of excuses rather than owning that the service wasn’t acceptable. Blaming the delay on larger parties, even though we made a point of ordering before they did, but they were served before we were. There was no prior warning of the delays which they clearly knew about. In the future I’ll stick with a take away from the Spice Station. Much better food and much quicker.

Boring bland food. Barely Indian. Different curries barely tasted different. Sorry but very very disappointing

SO DISSAPOINTED had an order on Sunday for a family of 6. One dish was fine 3 chicken tika masala were awful like water and tasteless madras again was water and tasteless and service disgusting when called to complain and offered to take it back to show was it was like I was told that's our chef cooks you should have for thick masala . I would not recommend this place to anyone

The service was very good and it is obviously a very popular Indian restaurant. This may be partly because there's not many others to choose from. The staff and the service was very good, but the food was 'nice' but pretty standard to others. The Fish Delight was quite expensive at £18.50, but came with rice. The fish itself was a bit overcooked and dry. The Lamb Dhansak was the same as I've had anywhere else. The Nan Bread was good. We tried a new vegetable dish "Mishti Kodu Aloo" which was pumpkins and potatoes. I expect to pay a premium for beer so don't mind paying £5.75 for a bottle of Cobra in a restaurant, but I do begrudge paying £4.50 for a pint of Soda Water which costs them less than 5 pence. So overcooked fish and extortionately priced fizzy water knocks a 5 rating to a 3.

Had our first group gathering at a restaurant since lockdown. Felt comfortable and spacious. We also had a great night and the food was good.

A very good Indian takeaway and restaurant with a wide menu selection, good beers and attentive staff. We usually do takeaway. Try the chef's speciality dishes and arrive early because the atmosphere is there from the start

have been meaning to try here as we always pass it on the way to Sushi Jun. finally made it on a saturday night which was admittedly quite busy but not all the tables were occupied. it took over an hour for the food to arrive. the food was poorly presented but quite tasty. the naan bread arrived almost at the end of the meal. the main thing was they charged £4.50 for a pint of soda water and £4.75 for lime soda .. as we had to wait so long we had 4 pints of water between the two of us and were stung for nearly £20 just for the waters! they made zero effort to compensate us for the time waiting.. nowhere near worth the prices they charged.. will not be returning.

Well we tried this restaurant for the first time last night and had a takeaway. I have to say it was the worst food I have ever tasted and what a huge disappointment!! My husband had a king prawn dish which he had one mouthful of and couldn't eat it as it was so bad so it went into the bin, the prawns tasted as if they had been washed in some chemical and was completely inedible. After spending over £50.00 on a takeaway which more than half was thrown in the bin is utterly disappointed to say the least. We had poppadum's I got out the Waitrose mango chutney we had rather than eat the incredibly salty stuff we got from the restaurant!! All in all a complete disappointment, a complete waste of money and completely inedible food!! I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Service and food was excellent.

Our second time here and once again a lovely ambience and good service. This time however, sadly our food wasn't as good as the previous visit, my chicken tikka masala was on the dry and slightly chewy side, the lamb in my partners curry was dry and uninspiring, and the naan bread was overcooked and thin with hardly any coconut or raisins in the paswari naan. It was disappointing as last time the food was delicious and very moist. I even asked if they had a new chef but was told no. Maybe this was just an off night, and we will definitely return in hopes of food to the standard of our first visit.

Myself and my husband use this restaurant as do my family members also , you can always rely on perfect meals being delivered to your table and also your door when having a takeaway.

A couple of nghts before lockdown, and it was great to revisit Farnham, and one of my favourite restaurants!. Ambience was excellent - so comfortable, - classy table clothe, serviettes, and place settings. Food was wonderful, exotic, and cooked to perfection.- excellent service too!.

Nice decor, big place and lovely attentive staff. Starters were bland. Main course was tasty and much better. However, it can be expensive. Forst page of curries are all 14-16.50 without rice..! However you can order staples like Do piaza, korma, saag, tika madras, etc...

We had yet another home delivery from the Darjeeling. The food is simply perfect and cooked to perfection. Prompt delivery from a friendly member of their team approx. 1 hour after ordering. The Tandoori Mixed Grill is superb.
