The best restaurants serving Indian food in England

Average food, below average service. We visited last week and the service felt incredibly rushed. Barely sat down whilst waiting for two others and were asked if we wanted starters. Then when the other 2 arrived and sat down asked if we knew what we wanted. After asking for 10 minutes, when the waiter came over he said "if you haven't looked yet just tell me what you want" so one of us didn't even get a look at the menu. Then whilst taking our order he was seating someone else. All very rushed. Food itself came out a little too quickly, to the point we debated if chef mic had a little dabble in the process. Also were told one dish would be hot and it was mild at best. Chutneys were incredibly poor quality. Upon paying the waiter didn't even say thank you, just walked off. All in all, disappointing, would not recommend, nor go back.

We would like to think that we are curry connoisseurs 😜. Been to a lot of different restaurants. We moored up near the harecastle tunnel and decided to pop into kidsgrove for a curry. We were recommended Arena by a customer that was standing outside. We took a chance and it was a good decision. Karen was brilliant and the food was fantastic. The lamb was so tender, fresh cauliflower in the bhaji and the channawalla was so tasty. Would thoroughly recommend. Unfortunately we were early and the restaurant was empty so I can’t give a great review on the atmosphere.

Visited Saturday evening 22/3. Our booking was for 6.15pm, restaurant already nearly full. Food excellent and, despite being very busy, staff were attentive, polite and efficient. As we left we were given a large bottle of Cobra beer!! Our favourite Indian restaurant.

The food was very tasty & service lovely. We even received a complementary veg dish ! The only thing I would change is to use leas oil as the dishes are greasy but extremely tasty & generous portions. Lamb was the softes I have ever eaten. Highly reccomended

If there’s a better Indian takeaway than Village Tandoori, Emmer Green I’ll be massively surprised. Their food is always fabulous. Always (and we’ve had it probably fifty times ).

Ordered lamb rogan josh. Never had a single spice in it. Just lamb and covered in red tomato paste.a tiny bit of onion and coriander everywhere. Disgusting . Been coming years never again. So disappointing

This place takes your takeout order online. When you go to pick up,the place isn’t open . You are then told to go to their other place, which is in Beverley. You are given an option to pay by card online or cash on pickup, always put CASH . Takes a long time to get money back for card. Payment!

Bought chicken tikka in nan and it was hard to find a meat in it. £6.50 for nan, cabbage and onion First and a last time

Ordered online on Sunday 27.10.24 from thier website. Order never arrived yet money was taken. No answer over the phone and the shop seems to be shut. Just eat has suspended orders so I assume the place has now closed but thier website is still active. I will now need to contact the Bank to dispute this payment.
