This, Restaurant is situated in Dock side past star bucks Chatham Kent.Its Authentic Indian cuisine. We have been to many restaurants but this one is a treat.If you like traditional Indian food you can never beat this one. Although almost restaurants call themselves indian, but they are not authentic because they cater for the vast public whom most don't know the real taste of India.They are very curtious, very knowledgeable about their menu and absolutely caring.We went last night,even tho the place was Jam packed all staff members had a smile on and very attentive and service was second to none.SUPPORT OUR ONLY AUTHENTIC INDIAN RESTAURANT.by the way i dont own or have business connections with the restaurant.Im a foodie

Popadom is our go to takeaway. But last night We went for dinner at the restaurant with friends and it was a lovely evening. I love Indian food but Not with too much spice so I love the fact that popadom cook your dish to suit your spice preference-The food was as delicious as always. The service was fantastic and the atmosphere was great. I cannot recommend popadoms enough. If you haven’t eaten in make sure you do.

Wow the food here is incredible. The taste is so unique and beautifully seasoned. They also do cocktails!!!! The staff here make you feel so welcome and explain the dishes. You must come here

My partner and i where very pleasantly suprised by this restaurant and the team. After a busy day we lacked the enthusiasm to cook at home and we decided to have dinner out which is very rare as we have a constant flow of horrible restaurants. Myself running restaurants and a head chef in the past can sometimes be over judging. And my partner who is a massive foodie can be left with a bad taste.But not this time the food was absolutly great at a fair price and the staff where spot on. The decore was as it should be pleasant and vibrant and the utilities where clean and smelt good. The team where cleanly dressed and friendly willing to assest where needed. We will be back and i think i have found my favourite indian!! Thank you to everyone at the restaurant.

My daughter and I visited nd enjoyed a beautiful meal in bank holiday Monday. We would definitely recommend the vegetarian sharing starter for two which was absolutely divine.We had three side dishes and rice to follow, Dahl tarka, veg jalfriezi and paneer. Everything was so fresh and beautifully spiced.Staff are friendly and attentive. Will definitely return

We were asking friends for recommendations for vegetarian friendly restaurants and they recommended Poppadom and I can safely say they were not wrong. The food was incredible! We had a selection of sides and starters to create our very own tapas style Indian feast. All of it was tasty, the starter with the shot glasses were particularly great. The staff were very friendly and very kindly treated us to a complimentary pudding for our anniversary. I’d highly recommend visiting. Thank you for a fab evening.

We came to the restaurant after visiting the dockyard, and loved it so much we came back a few weeks later. The food was delicious and it was great to see dishes that were unfamiliar. Staff were delighted to showcase their authentic dishes and explain their origins and how to eat them in the traditional manner. A treat for vegetarians with plenty of choice. Have a dhosa!

Went without great expectations and had once of the best Indian meals i have had outside of India, great food

We went to popadoms as a family treat for my dad’s birthday. The staff were thoughtful and friendly. Made us feel really welcome. The food was 10/10 in terms of taste, quality and authenticity. And arrived really quick.! We really enjoyed the restaurant decor and the surrounding area. This is easily the best Indian in the area by far! To finish off we had a nice walk around the marina Will be returning for more!

I visited this restaurant on Friday 13th August , I was greeted by a lovely lady & service was fast & we ordered a kingfisher beer, starters where delicious however the restaurant was very quiet & lacked atmosphere,soft music was pleasant main course arrived & food looked good & tasted perfect really enjoyed my meal & staff where pleasant & professional, spoke to the owner very nice man , electric car parked at entrance with a thick cable that could be a trip hazard but this car is used for take away delivery, I plan to return as I loved the quality of the food

Had an amazing evening here. Amazing food, fab quality and reasonable price. We we were made to feel so welcome by the staff. It had a very family, come and chill vibe. . We enjoyed the fact our food took a while to come out, it meant we could chill and enjoy the evening. It was totally worth the wait. Will definitely be back.

Had dinner on Saturday evening. Chicken Kadai, Tadka Daal (side), Aloo Gobi and bread basket. All the dishes tasted good and Indian. The sides are a rip off you really get a small portion not even for one person. In fact the waiter even warned us. So why have it on the me menu. Vegetables are over priced. However the food is good and the restaurant is really nice. Will go again.

We weren’t offered all menus. Had to ask for the vegan menu, I luckily saw the menu previously on Instagram. Service was very slow. Had to get our own knives & forks. Food only tasted of aniseed. Dinner was expensive. The only thing that made up for it was we were given 20% off when we complained.

We’ve been having some amazing Indian food over the month from them and each of their dishes have a distinct difference in taste from one to the the other(this is hard to come by) Its authentic!

We're lucky to live near to the Popadom pop up - we had starters before and they were so good that we made sure to come hungry this time! I had the vegetarian meal and my husband had the meat one. Everything was delicious - pani puri, samosas, bhajis, vegetable jalfrezi, chicken tikki masala, chilli chicken, naan breads and rice. Last time I also had the broccoli and cauliflower chilli fry, which was the best chilli fry I've ever eaten. It was amazing value and so filling, we'll definitely be back for the next pop up event.

Food was lovely and the right temperature. The naan breads were really nice - just wanted them warmed up a bit more. I think because it was home delivery. Food came on time. It was my birthday in June, totally forgot to write the review. The staff made my birthday really special by addind some desserts and chutney. Really nice service. This was 3rd time i have had food from them. Rewlly nice. Just a bit too much spicy, wish they did really mild dishes then it would be much much better. I think they could add more mix platters and dishes and decrease the prices. But apart from that thank you for the lovely birthday.

We ordered a takeaway the other evening from popadoms for the first. All i can say is the other reviews are not wrong. The food was absolutely first class. The food arrived bang on time and pipping hot. You certainly don't get short changed with the portion sizes. Two biryanis, king prawn and a lamb, with a host of side dishes. Honestly it tasted amazing. Also met the owner who delivered the meal as he likes to get out and meet the customers. Just ordered another takeaway for tonight.!

Visited yesterday for the first time... I asked for Chicken Jalfreizi and Motor Paneer - as neither of them were on the menu, (not sure why) but was told it wasn't a problem for them.I have to say I am 54 years old, I've eaten curries all over Kent, this country and even the world - but that was without a doubt the BEST curry experience I have EVER had!!Cannot recommend highly enough!

We had a family dinner a week ago and I cannot say enough about the lovely service. The food was good as well, especially the Goan fish curry. So delicious. If you're feeling adventurous try the massala coke.

This is the second time i have been to this restaurant and it has been brilliant both times. The food is exceptional, a very good variety and reasonably priced.The ambience is so relaxing.The staff were very attentive, polite and very welcoming.I would definitely recommend this restaurant, for me it ticks all the boxes. As an Indian myself, I’ve not enjoyed Indian food at restaurants around London much but this one takes the cake … lots of options, well made, flexible to accommodate preferences, no fuss food that one can truly enjoy. The cherry on the top is the friendly staff and the smiling hosts who are always ready to make the dining experience a good one. Will definitely be back again & again … Best of luck.

I had my special event there and everything was very well organised and me and my family was very happy, the ambiance, food was excellent, and overall well managed.

Superb food with a number of items not encountered before. The meal tasted just like meals we have eaten in different parts of India over the years. So tasty and well presented with friendly service and a chance to discuss the food and how the restaurant came about with the owner.

Absolutely stunning meal and great service. You can't buy better indian food. First class. The masala dosa was better than I've ever had. The staff were quick to help with childrens choices. Excellent.

We arrived at 8.30pm and were greeted by a server who made no mention of the track and trace but just pointed to our table. The same server gave us a few minutes and then politely asked if we wanted drinks and Popadams. Our sparkling luke warm water arrived with no ice and some of the six popadams were burnt. They forgot our onions even though we asked for two portions and each of the other condiments did not even fill a teaspoon. The server did bring two more popadams and one onion condiment. 45 minutes later our small sharing starters arrived. They were ok but exceptionally spicy hot. leaving us all gasping for breath.We waited over an hour whilst listening to covers of modern western pop music resonating between the wooden flooring and then bouncing off the bare wooden tables past the utility pipes and steel girders making up the ceiling. Not exactly the authentic Indian restaurant experience I was hoping for. At no point did the waitresses ask if we wanted another drink. The main aubergine vegetarian curry was mashed and looked like cat food. I wouldn’t taste it. My daughter said it was saltless, full of cloves, had the texture of cat food and tasted awful. The waitress did take it away, offer any alternative and when we refused she said she would remove it from the bill. Her fiancé chose a two chilli heat strength chicken curry and whilst he said it tasted ok there was absolutely no heat to it, in stark contrast to the starters. My chicken tikka masala looked great. I dipped a piece of Nan bread into the sauce and it tasted like tomato purée. My daughter said it tasted as though it had tomato ketchup in it and her fiancé said it was like a tomato soup. I didn’t even try the chicken. My husbands sauce was almost identical, a Goan fish curry, but in fairness, he said his fish was nicely cooked. We had a jalfrezi vegetarian side and a sag paneer. The first was passable albeit it was served in a very small dish, the paneer was ok but the sag part was inedible. The breads were dry. Overall it was awful. The owner came and asked if we were enjoying the food. I tried to describe the masala sauce and instead of simply saying he was sorry it was not to my taste he became quite abusive whilst raising his arms and pointing to all of the Indian people eating in the restaurant. I pointed out our heritage in an effort to explain we eat a range of Asian food and he snapped back that he was Indian and only he knew Indian food. I said we frequently ate at Shozna and naz rasoi and he shouted and said they were not Indian. I was so taken aback I said ok I agree with you, you are right, in an attempt to diffuse his anger and I said don’t worry about it but he snatched up the masala and said he would bring a different dish. Having waited so long for the food we said no we just wanted to go and so he stormed off and said he would remove the mains from our bill. I said two mains had been eaten but he still removed them in what I can only assume was to recover the upper hand. His reaction was just shocking and horrible. He brought the bill and 30 seconds later reappeared as we were still eating bread and asked if we were paying. We looked surprised and he said he thought we had said we wanted to leave.

Very small portion for a main course. The side portion was very small too . Very loud music. I will not recommend as its very expensive.

Booked a table at popadom for my cousins birthday. As soon as we walked in we were really impressed with the decor and atmosphere. The food was incredible, the flavours so vibrant and the presentation exceptional. The owner is clearly very dedicated and wants to make sure people are really enjoying authentic Indian food that is fresh and delicious. They offered us a free naan on the house and made a fabulous desert for my cousins birthday which was delicious and even asked what our favourite flavours were before making it! Highly recommend and I will be coming back and bringing my whole family! Fabulous!

A fantastic restaurant located in the marina area of st Mary’s island. We ordered the chilli paneer and veg biryani which both tasted superb. The naan bread was really fresh. If you’re in the area and looking for an Indian restaurant , I’d highly recommend this.

Exceptional quality food, cooked and served by fantastic people. The owner is dedicated to creating authentic dishes, and the Murg Zaffrani Biryani was a testament to his passion. Simply, it was the best Indian meal I've ever eaten.

Easy to book online. Beautiful decor- loved the colourful scarves and umbrellas on the ceiling. The food was beyond excellent. We skipped the starter and went straight to main, with sides. Food cooked to perfection and presented well. Attentive service- really helpful.

The food was amazing!Worth the wait!!! lovely and clean restaurant with lovely staff members. Only down side is that the Gol Gappa shots were very little. Only 3 which is not worth the price of £4 +. Make it 6 piece and it would be perfect! Otherwise no complaints!

We ordered a takeaway on Friday evening and the food was great as always. The vegetable samosas are amazing!! You can homemade pastry is used, so authentic and the curry’s ( lamb madras - spicyyy!) was really tasty and the meat portions generous , not oily at all and just all round a lovely meal as we’ve got used to from this place! Had a takeaway meal from popadom on Saturday night and was the best curry takeaway I’ve ever eaten. The food was amazing and delivery perfect!! Can’t wait for the restaurant to re open for sit down meal. Unreal food would recommend to all. Benn

I had an impromptu visit to Popadom, so hadn't booked, but was warmly welcomed. All covid measures were in place and seating spaciously arranged, which was instantly relaxing.I ordered Methi Chicken, my friend had chicken karhi and it was delicious, the chicken was so tender it fell apart and the sauce was highly flavoured and unique.The portion size was generous and so my friend and I shared a dish of rice and a plain naan bread, which enabled us to have a few more items.The menu explains heat of the dishes by a chilli symbol and are a little on the spicy side, so if you prefer a mild/medium strength choose a 1 chilli option.there are several vegetarian dishes available. The service was just the right amount, we had what we needed but didn't feel pestered. Will definitely be going back soon.

Fourth order over the last month. The first 3 meals were via Uber Eats and Just Eats were exceptional, good flavours with additional chilly as requested, so thank you. Sadly, today's meal was ordered direct and very disappointing. When you look forward to that one take-away per week and let down by poor quality food. Popadom, you charge an higher end price, so please provide an higher end meal!

We had lovely meal today,I mentioned the masala was a little hot for my palette, he said next time he can add more potatoes to tone down the flavour. We were given complimentary deserts to try. We were given plastic plate cup and cutlery for the little one.Fantastic customer service we will definitely visit again.

Really tasty authentic Indian food, would definitely recommend. Was a pleasant surprise. Easy enough to order direct on the website and delivered quickly. Bhaigan was a great curry. And the lamb karat was brilliant.

Whilst having to eat outside isn't the best, the staff were so lovely and helpful - I can't wait to go back and dine inside! The food was absolutely beautiful, the chicken in the curry was tender and full of flavour, and the peshwari naan was delicious! Definitely a must try guys.

The best Indian cuisine in Medway! Restaurant standard and authentic dishes - so many amazing starters -highlights: Gol Gappe Shots & battered fried fish. Brilliant rich curries our favourite being the Prawn and Coconut. Great sides and lots of options for bread. Always delivered hot - tonight was actually early! Thoroughly recommend.

Ordered early in the day for an evening delivery. Food arrived as ordered, hot and labelled. Actually arrived 10 minutes early, which was great as we were feeling quite hungry.Although a little more than what I would normally pay, the dishes were delicious, so it was worth it. Looking forward to actually eating in the restaurant, once the present day lockdowns are lifted.

We have eaten in the restaurant (pre COVID) and had out first takeaway last night. The food is always fabulous and of high quality. Lots of lovely spices. It is a little bit pricey compared with others but you get what you pay for. Caters really well for vegans and any extra requests. We will definitely be returning

Reference bmwman99 from 8/3/21 thank you for your response “perfumed taste” I now believe the taste that me and my wife experienced is that of cardamom.Cardamom I understand in various forms is used in authentic traditional Indian recipes unfortunately on your menu and on your website it does not mention the use of this product.Having known that the dishes would contain this overwhelming strong acquired taste then we would not of ordered from yourselves!Under current government guidelines we was unwilling to make the unnecessary journey to return the meal but i believe if it was not for this taste it would of been a much better meal.If you wish you could possibly re do the meal at a later stage and hopefully this time if I ask for the cardamom to be removed then hopefully we could get the taste of a good meal!To anybody else out there that does not like the fragrant perfume taste just ask for cardamom to be removed and I think you will find it much more enjoyable!Thank you in anticipation bmwman99

Ordered yesterday for first time! Very expensive in comparison to other similar restaurants but if the food was nice you wouldn’t mind so much! Unfortunately it wasn’t! My wife struggled with the perfumed taste that was consistent throughout everything we ordered! From the Kemah naan to the Onion Bhajis to the Chicken tikka masala, it all had the same fragrance taste! I tried some of the wives and yes the fragrance taste was in everything! So what we normally pay under £20 for but was £30 from here went straight in the bin! Gutted as we were really looking forward to it after reading such good reviews! Regards!

I’ve eaten allot of Indian food and this is easily the best freshest Indian food I’ve ever eaten! I cant wait for covid to be over so we get to visit and enjoy there food in the restaurant too.Keep up the good work and good luck with everything

Can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. Do your taste buds a favour and try the masala dosa. The service is outstanding and friendly, and the food is remarkable. The chef is very talented, all the meals were perfectly spiced and cooked to perfection. All food came piping hot and with lots of condiments. We are never going to try another Indian restaurant.

Ordered tonight after having been to the restaurant last year. Best I’ve found in Medway! Naan bread is absolutely amazing! The korma actually has a bit of spice to it which I loved!!

Takeaway is as good as going into the restaurant.Before lockdown we had a meal in the restaurant with a younger member of our family who made a bit of a mess on the floor, we offered to clear it up but they insisted that it was bound to happen as its a family restaurant. Since lockdown we continue to have takeaway and the service and quality is second to none. My father particularly recommends the Kadai Chicken dish as it is superb.My partner recommends the Chicken Madras, it is very tasty.

I am always very wary trying new places for takeaway because I have coeliac disease and can only eat gluten free. This restaurant’s menu details all allergies for each dish individually which was really reassuring. Delivery service was great, gentleman very friendly and clearly passionate about his business. We visited this restaurant on numerous occasions prior to lock down, the owner & his colleagues offered a superb service, excellent cuisine and ambiance. We have continued to order takeaways after lockdown and have always been extremely happy with the prompt delivery and quality of the food. Whilst out walking today we noticed this Indian restaurant tucked away in the docks. We decided to give it a go. Ordered over the phone early and asked for a specific delivery time. Arrived on time and a very pleasant gentleman delivered the food. It was delicious and hot. So fresh and with beautiful flavours. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be using again.

This is such a great Indian restaurants. The food taste fresh and authentic unlike some of the Indian restaurants that claim to be Indian but most definitely are not. If you are look for a meal that tastes like a home cooked Indian meal then this is the place to buy from. The service is always impeccable and friendly. We no longer order Indian from anywhere else now. Only place in Medway to go for an Indian in my opinion.

I can't recommend Popadom highly enough!Unfortunately due to covid, we've not been able to get down to the restaurant but we've had about four takeaways from Popadom. So lucky to have such a great Indian restaurant on our doorstep.Our usual dishes dansak and tikka masala are always delicious from here as is all the food from here - the samosas particularly are incredible!The takeaway service is also top notch and always comes very quickly and piping hot.

Traditional Indian dishes including vegan menu, love their biryanis so tasty. Excellent service run by a lovely friendly family. Lovely setting by Dockside Marina. Takeaway service during lockdown so give it a try.
