was originally told 50 mins called 3x for then to keep saying it's out for delivery, then got told delivered to wrong address, was told I would get same order free next time. don't think there will be a next time.

Extremely tasty. makes a change to find a flavourful vegetable korma. first time ordering but will definitely get again. Thankyou.

The worst Indian takeaway I have ever had, coconut rice was heavy a wet texture, it did not taste good at all, chicken korma was watery and absolutely zero flavour, tikka naan was awful, what a waste of £25, the whole thing went in the bin. Hugely disappointed

We ate here for the first time recently, and while we all felt the food was really good, and the menu extensive, it was the service which really let it down. We were squeezed into a booth next to the window, which left us feeling a little cramped for four adults. While the initial poppadoms and drink orders arrived quickly, it then took an age for someone to come and take the rest of the order. We also placed a second drinks order, some of which was forgotten about. There was then big gaps waiting for our starters and then our mains, meaning we had been seated over 90 minutes before our main dishes got served. The restaurant was not that busy for a Friday night, so am not sure what the issue could be.. As I say though, the food was good. The prawns in the Keralan were big and meaty and the tarka dals and the other side dishes were all really flavoursome and well cooked. The Naans were big and fluffy and had a nice char to them. Not the cheapest curry we have had, but the quality of food was of a high standard Would give them another try if they could iron out their service issues

altogether great food except for 2 things. the keema naans had hardly any keema in them and the plain poppadoms were oily. other than that rest of the food was cooked great

It's the second time I've been to The Watling and both times have been excellent. Food was lovely the best Indian I've had in a long time. Also, even though they were extremely busy on a Friday evening near Christmas, the service was still good. We will be back when we are next in the area. ... PREVIOUS REVIEW In unfamiliar surroundings and looking for a nice Indian restaurant we found Watling Rasoi on Google. It seemed to have nice reviews and pictures looked good. We called on a Easter Thursday and managed to get a table within 15 minutes. Wow, it was lovely. A very friendly welcome and very accommodating even though we wanted a different table. Great selection of drinks and probably the best draft Cobra I've had in a long time. They even had Cranberry juice!.. Great selection of dishes, Salmon Tikka, and other Salmon dishes. Nice to see Broccoli side and Courgette side, we indulged in both 😁. Poppadoms were fresh crispy and Tasty with a good selection of chutneys. Garlic Chili Chicken was also very tasty. The service was friendly and efficient throughout the whole evening without being overbearing. Such a lovely find at last minute. Thank you very much guys we will be back.

The food was amazing, I had the Hyderabadi Lamb and it tasted great. So much flavour and perfectly spiced. The service was also great, the staff were accommodating and very friendly. Will Be coming again. Highly recommend.

Vegetable curry tasted like a packet of frozen vegetables! Sag aloo was tasteless and last time we ordered we got completely the wrong order! My gf does not eat lamb and we got lamb tikka instead of chicken and doesn't eat peas and they put peas in our plain rice and the had geeny blue food colouring or something weird in it! We took it back and they tried to replace them but what is the point of half of our food already being cold and getting 2 new dishes that were warm 40 minutes later! My girlfriend had a really bad stomach but its me who suffered more because got woke up several times in the night and had to end up sleeping with the window open!I'm disappointed because this restaurant is beautiful and the food was delicious last year! I think they must have lost the main chef and must be struggling and lowered the quality of food! I really hope they can go back to how they was because I ate every weekend here but now only twice this year and been disappointed! Wish them all the best in the future but will not order here again!

Normally curry isn't my go to but now it might be as this was so good! Delivery driver was so lovely, the man on the phone in the restaurant was also lovely and the food was hot and delicious! Will definitely be ordering again 😋

Have visited twice over the past 6 months. Once was for the excellent Elvis night, and the other was with a group of friends on a Saturday night. On both occasions, the quality of food and service was excellent, with a great overall experience.

First time here, must say we were pleasantly surprised. We were made very welcome, the service was excellent and the food was very good.Highly recommended a visit if you like your Indian food, good selection on the menu.

Have eaten in restaurant but first time ordering. Was delivered on time and nice, only comment would be the vegetable curry that came with the biriani was less than half the container full.

I travel 200 miles to see my bestie, and we love to eat here. The food is always excellent, the staff are lovely and the atmosphere is enjoyable. Thank u for a lovely evening. X

Great food, good size portions, wonderfuls service. We where a group of 15 and they got everything right first time. No issues with group size or orders. All very efficient. Will definitely be back

The Bombay potato was in 2 inches of oil so totally inedible. Breads were nice and hot but masala sauce literally tasted like a bland tomato soup. First and last time I

prawns were grisly in a strange tasting sauce, plastic found in food, delivered late won't be ordering here again ever!! 😕

Mixed starter was lovely. Lamb curry was tender. Had a chicken madras flavours good but chicken was hard and dry. Had the chilli cheese naan and all I could taste was chilli no cheese . Food was warm when arrived.

Good food but arrived a little late

11 of us went here last night for my Mum's birthday. It was really busy so obviously very popular. The atmosphere was lovely and relaxed. Food was absolutely delicious and the staff were very friendly. We had a lovely evening. They even played the happy birthday song and brought out a cheesecake with a candle in for my Mum with the added bonus of a big bottle of beer (which they knew my Mum liked as she was drinking lager anyway 😄). Would highly recommend and will definitely go back.

Great food Great service. I've tried many Indians around Chatham, Gillingham and Rainham but The Watling RASOI is the one for me. Beautiful decor friendly and helpful staff. wide range of choice from the menu, thanks to Ruko who suggested my main dish, what a good pick 👍. We'll definitely coming back soon.

We order home delivery, set meal for 2. The starter consisted of 1 prawn, 1 lamb chop & 1 piece of paneer sharing that between 2 was quite amusing.. half a prawn each? The onion bhaji were cold, hard on the outside & mushy in the middle(yum) the popadoms had less crunch than a lettuce leaf! The main was oily, sloppy & the chicken was dry, the onions were slimy, I’ve honestly had better microwave meal curry’s. Everything was barely warm & quite honestly a disgrace to Indian culture… AVOID.

Excellent food quality and good value. I even was able to see the chef's making meat samosa from scratch rather than just using frozen Well done!!

I got the notification that the order was out for delivery just before 6:30pm but it did not arrive until 7:05pm, when I called the restaurant to check up on ETA they said it had just been sent out 5 minutes earlier so this was inconsistent information - albeit it a polite delivery person and delicious food once received

Great local Indian restaurant. Recently ordered a delivery as have been let down on food quality by another in the area after years of loyalty. The food was so much tastier and the staff are pleasant, friendly and accommodating. Going for a sit down revealed how well the place is working and again, great traditional curry house fayre, just tasty, hot, fresh and no rank, soft meat that crops up so often now. We will be revisiting.

Very disappointed with the food. We have eaten here before and enjoyed the experience hence our return. The staff were polite and attentive. Sadly this time I was served a Butter Chicken dish which consisted of a few measly pieces of what can only be described as processed pre formed chicken? Each piece of meat floating in the thin uninteresting sauce was flat & round and did not resemble any form of chicken i’ve eaten before. My husband was also disappointed in the Dansak which again was measly & bland. We was also charged for poppadoms and dips which we hadn’t ordered and believed were complimentary? It’s a shame this is a modern clean restaurant with a great ambiance .. lacking in so many restaurants today ysadly our experience was spoiled by the inferior , bland food .

We discovered this restaurant back in May 2024 and have not looked back, the food is outstanding, the best we have had(!) and always tell the staff each time we visit. Poppadom with toppings followed by our starters, Tandoori King Prawn is my wife’s favourite, mine is Chicken Puri, our mains - Salmon and Chicken Tikka Masala, Sag rice/Egg rice, Onion Bhaji and Chips – the portions are plentiful that we find ourselves so stuffed mid-way through the meal, we ask to take the left-overs home; we aim to try various dishes but so far, I am the only adventurous one! The décor is lovely, the staff are always helpful and happy – we highly recommend it!

The dining experience where was incredible, we hadn’t booked a table but they accommodated us perfectly. The food was delicious and there were many options for vegetarians. The staff were incredibly attentive and they created a warm and chill atmosphere. We didn’t feel rushed at all and the food came out gradually and at perfect timing. We had samosas, partha, jalfrezi, popadoms and chutney, vegetarian curry, and some rice dishes. All of the above were delicious and they even give you warm towels to wipe your hands, orange and delicious mint chocolate. Thanks so much for your hospitality and the extra chocolate! :)

I have been going to this restaurant’s location for years. The new owners have transformed the menu and experience. The staff are friendly and the food very pleasing on the palette. I would recommend this restaurant.

Orde takeaway on farther day which the food was really good but two rices was missing from order. And couldn't get through on phone line was Presley surprised when two days later a complete meal was delivered.To are front door free of charge and we definitely recommend this restaurant to other.

Absolute gem! Already knew the food was superb as i often order for delivery. Went for a sit down meal and never realised how nice the restaurant actually is. Excellent staff, delicious food and an absolute bargain banquet meal on Wednesday nights for under £16 per head. We could not finish it all as it was so generous and no corners cut on quality. Well worth a visit.

Another amazing evening at The Watling Rasoi which has got to be the best Indian cuisine for miles around. Some great things on the menu that I haven't seen anywhere else including the incredible curry I had which was flambeed in sambuca.Wow! Great taste and great theatre. Not pnly is the food fantastic but the staff are so friendly and funny and really want you to have the best time. Heartily recommend it!
