The best restaurants serving Indian food in Taunton Deane South West

We were surprised to see the community cafe still open at around 3.30pm on a Sunday, so we thought we’d give it a try. All we can say is, call in if you’re passing as the cakes are just delicious. All are home made by residents in the village who take it in turns to run the cafe. It’s so cheap as well!

unfortunately I can't say I would recommend this place. With mixed reviews I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt. Firstly, they couldn't find my booking that I called a week prior to book as it was for my sons 13th birthday, I asked over the phone whether they did happy birthday songs they told me no (absolutely fine understood). Once sat food is OK, average, some items are better than others but all edible. What annoyed us the most was the fact that 3/4 of the way through eating some gongs went off and out come two birthday cakes along with the happy birthday song!!! I'm livid to be honest. my 13 year old son with additional needs thinking I had gone to the trouble of making an effort for his birthday to only realise it was for someone else I'm sorry but completely unacceptable. Your food is OK, your hosting isn't. This might not sound like a big deal but to a child it is!! The fact that I'd spent £80 for the privilege of an upset child isn't cool!

We have been having take aways from Blue Mango for a few years now and it is always a consistently high standard. We wouldn’t get it from anywhere else.

Superb food and staff! I came alone on a Thursday and had the banquet deal (3 items for £19.95). Superb value. It’s the third time I’ve been and I’d highly recommend it. You also get discount for collecting takeaways

It was very delicious although the rice had cooled down quite a lot. It says here that it was delivered at around approximately 7:20pm. It was estimated delivery 7:15pm to 7:35pm but it was about a minute to 8pm when it arrived . The driver apologised that it was late and sprinted back to his car. I imagine that he had a heavy workload, but it would have been helpful to receive updates so that I could re arrange evening plans based on the timings.

The place has changed name, now Somerset Masala (or so ething like that), same staff, but not as good as our last visit, which was a shame. Fodd was OK, but far too much sauce with the dishes. I appreciate its about saving money/value for money, but just a bit disappointed.

Awful food . Can’t cook ROTI. Or curry. 16/11/24 food arrived cold . Bland and undercooked.

We ordered a takeaway meal for four. Overall the feed was pretty good, very generous portion sizes and a good variety of vegetarian options too. Would use again if we stay in the local area again.

Delivery is shocking 1hour and 45 minutes later. We were quoted 1 hour maximum, so bad. Food is only ok, it’s changed hands. It is different....

If you want a nice curry and you can cook, Cook a curry. No word of a lie,I have had a better microwave meals. Food was bland. Garlic naan was so strong with garlic it, really quite strange. Left pretty much the whole meal. Now looking for something to eat elsewhere. Never again. Very disappointed

It appears since I visited before Christmas this place has shut down. Curry was delicious, as was the naan bread but it was all very expensive, to the point I ignored starters and popadoms. The main, naan and a soft drink cost in excess of £30! As much as I enjoyed my meal, I don't think it was good value for money and there are other Indian restaurants in walking distance that are better value and serve equally as nice dishes.
