We had a wonderful night at the TK. We went to celebrate my father inlaw's 80th birthday and the food was just amazing. It is his favourite restaurant, but my first time and we have had takeaways from there since. Really flavoursome and beautifully presented. The garlic naan is just perfection and I think I could eat 100 poppadoms! They're never overcooked. The restaurant allowed me to come in early and decorate the table, which was in the window for the special occasion. After we had finished, the staff brought my father inlaw a complimentary dessert with a candle, which was really special. It tasted amazing as well. Just a lovely evening all round.

Great food we had the taster menu and it was all really tasty and authentic. Many different items to choose from on the menu, not your average Indian restaurant.

We ordered food for a birthday party. The food was sumptuous and yummy. The chicken biryani was icing on the cake. First class service. Will use them again.

Another superb meal at the TK on Friday 21/3/25. Reliably top-quality food & excellent service. Most encouraging to hear they are expanding into the next-door premises, it was certainly very busy when we ate there at 6.30 Friday evening so more seating is certainly good news.

Had not been before but highly recommended by others so gave it a try. We were celebrating a 60th birthday and it was a lovely evening from start to finish. Staff friendly and efficient, lovely atmosphere and food was best Indian I’ve tasted. We tried the meat tasting menu which was delicious giving us a wide variety of dishes to try à good choice if you’re unsure what to choose. 3 people in the restaurant that night whose birthday it was. Each one had dessert with a candle and Happy Birthday sung to them. Will definitely return. Thank you

We had the four course taster menu & it was really outstanding. So fresh & tasty, well presented & left feeling very spoilt & very well fed. Attentive staff & brilliant service. Defo will be returning . Would recommend to anyone wanting lovey food .

Had the best biryani in my life

A return visit, and yet again, nothing to disappoint! Service is great, the food is sublime, and as ever, we had a great evening. A Saturday night visit for us, and goodness me are they busy. Takeaways flying out, all the tables full, and not an issue in sight. The chilli idly I highly recommend. It's so chilli hot you keep on going back for more. Delicious. I had the butter marsala paneer. Just wonderful. The pilau rice and pashwari naan were perfect. Service was not rushed and the staff serving us couldn't do anymore. Highly recommend going here. Book in advance and have a wonderful visit.

Tumeric Kitchen have catered a couple of functions at my place of work and it has always been so tasty, hot and consistent with their standards each time. Tonight I had the pleasure of visiting the restaurant! Tumeric Kitchen is a beautiful, cosy restaurant with the friendliest staff and impeccable service! The food is delicious.... the best Indian food I have tasted and I will definitely be visiting again.

I recommend the taster menu - poppadoms, three mini starters on a slate plate, large sharing dosa stuffed with spicy potato, lamb and chicken main course with perfect naans. There are 9 of us but food all arrived at the same time and was hot. Those with gluten intolerance were easily accommodated. Excellent service too!

Visited over the summer and with my partner and we had such a good time. The service was impeccable really genuine people who care a lot about their food. Everything we ordered was delicious and I’m still thinking of the mango curry months later.

Collected our first takeaway and it was not nice. The Tikka Masala was the worst we have ever had …. No flavour and not like a Masala at all more like a Korma but with no taste…..I have eaten better from Sainsbury’s!! The lamb saag was no better either. It was lumps of precooked lamb chucked into a puréed green sauce ….awful !

A table for four -where four of us had booked a table to celebrate the Diamond Anniversary of two of us. One of the four has quite bad dementia; another needs gluten-free, and two of us are not very familiar with the menu possibilities. Not the ideal customers perhaps. But we were greeted and helped in a sensitive way all through from menu choice to our own cake we had brought with candles. Have visited and enjoyed before- and will certainly visit again. I've got my eye on the desserts, too!

We had a lovely meal here. The food was excellent, but the best thing was the team working here. They are really sweet and they explain all the dishes and we were really well looked after by the waiting staff. You can tell that the boss is kind and thoughtful. He was training a new junior team member and allowing her to take responsibility and then quietly guiding her through the process. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Will definitely go back.

This is famous as a Kerala restaurant in south west and West Midlands but there are few few items listed for keralites .Average food with average service and parking nearby is also a headache.

OMG, the food here is just amazing!! Absolutely perfect, couldn't fault anything - scruptious, delicious, wonderful! Honestly, it is the best Indian food I've eaten in such a long time! Very authentic, full-bodied and flavoursome gravies, excellent quality of ingredients, and the staff/service excellent! I am literally not going anywhere else now! Strong recommendation from me.

By far the best Indian cuisine in Taunton, absolutely amazing menu and food. Great vegan options/veggie options, would highly recommend the vegan tasting menu. We will always be coming back to this restaurant. Very pleased with the service and the food is top tier!

We had a taster meal at the Turmeric Kitchen 65. We had never been before, the food was amazing, the service was second to none and they even took the time to explain what the individual dishes were so you knew which one you were trying. Definitely recommend and will be returning 😊

We attended the Onam festival for a traditional vegetarian feast. We had very good service and welcomed the explanations about the various dishes served on bananas leaves.

Went here for dinner and would happily recommend it to anyone based on our experience. We ordered starters (Mini Dosa and Gobi 65) and mains (Tarka Dal and Hyderabadi dum Biryani) and everything arrived in good time, looked great and, most importantly, tasted wonderful. The service was excellent and the staff made sure that we were happy throughout our meal. Next time we're in Taunton we'll definitely be back.

We have been to Turmeric kitchen a number of times in preparation for our wedding. Niranjan the owner has looked after us so well every time! We had our wedding yesterday and the food was amazing! We had a vision of a relaxed help yourself buffet and these guys delivered. The staff are so welcoming and the food is delicious! Wether you are just thinking about coming here for the evening or you need caterers for an event Turmeric is the place to go! A special thanks again to Niranjan and the chefs for all their hard work!

Went here on the recommendation of others and it did not disappoint. Food was amazing and you could tell it was freshly cooked. The staff were super attentive and went beyond to help. The only downside - we went on a Saturday evening and the wait for the food was sooo long. We waited for over an hour for our main course but as said earlier it was definitely worth the wait, it was just fabulous food.

Amazing south Indian cuisine. The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish perfectly preserving the authentic South Indian flavors.

Stumbled upon this gaff after a trip to the cricket whilst holidaying. It was very busy but they managed to squeeze the wife and I in. Warm and friendly service (if a little slow but entirely understandable given we hadn't booked). The food was superb, South Indian cuisine, they do have a few of the usual suspects but we avoided those. The lamb dosa was AWESOME. The pancake thing was super crispy and tasty and perfect for dipping into the various sauces and the filling was delicious. Starters were also very good. So much better than yet another generic chicken Tikka.

Will stop just short of 5 stars for chicken 65. Biryani was good quantity. Staff were very pleasant. But they really ought to add plasticware or wooden spoons/forks with the order. Include paper napkins as well. Chicken 65 is one of my all time favorite dishes and I gauge a restaurant's food based on among other things, that dish. As you can see in the picture, it was a measly few pieces and it while it tasted ok, that's not how it should be. Parking is a pain for tourists. Locals might find it easy. Kothu paratha needs to be consistently of one spice level. Ordered regular one day and we enjoyed it. Ordered the same few days later and we couldn't finish it.

I always like to start with the positives and a positives for this establishment is the portions were small. Some may see this is a negative but for me it was definitely a positive, because after the first mouthful of eating their food I was overjoyed to know there wasn't too much to put in the bin. Onion pakora, note to the chef, (you do not need to add chilli powder let alone a lot of it) The mint dipping sauce was entertaining, do you know you can actually hold the tub upside down and put it over your head without any coming out. Not so much a sauce more a paste. Basic curry flavorless but again no to the chef you don't need chili powder in everything you do. Chicken tikka masala again chili powder. Chicken tikka masalas are not supposed to be spicy. If you could also hold back on the salt that would be fantastic. Again another dish flavorless just spice and heat. Certainly did not fare well after eating we've digestion and other. This is a place I would not recommend unless you like salty very spicy food, portion sizes are ridiculously small compared to the majority of Indian establishments throughout the UK. This is all the personal review, as I know many people do like just take away but for me it's one I shall never be returning too.

Niranjan and his team catered for my daughter’s 21st birthday, providing vegetarian and chicken curry, pakoras, rice and naan bread. He also provided food warmers. We have used Turmeric kitchen several times for catering for larger groups. Excellent service and reliably delicious food. Thankyou .

We came here to celebrate my wife's 60th, and decided to use the starters menu like tapas - smaller amounts of more things. We both had a mini-dosa, filled with potato with two sauces. We also ordered the pepper grilled lamb - juicy chunks of lamb with onions and their signature gravy. We also had the Keralan Tiger Prawns, four of them with two sauces, crispy and delicious. We finally had the Aubergine Pakora, slices of aubergine deep fried with tamarind and mint sauce on top - crispy and also delicious. The food here is first class, and the service comes with a smile, we really love it.

Was in the area and drove over 30mins to this place as the ratings were good. Well all I can say is don't bother everything was tastless and bland. The breads had the bare minimum fillings Only thing was nice was the fresh poppadoms Soft drinks tasted flat. Confused how this place has won many awards.

Took two hours for a delivery to arrive after ordering online at 7.10pm when the delivery estimate was 45 minutes on your site. I would’ve rather you cancelled my order due to being busy rather than wanting to keep my money and deliver almost 1.5 hours late. I ended up having to call to chase my order at 8:30pm, and again at 9pm. The order arrived at 9.10pm. If like on other reviews, you say you’re sorry and that you’re busy on Saturday nights, don’t advertise the delivery time being 45 minutes on your website as this is totally misleading. We won’t be ordering via Turmeric Kitchen again as it’s completely unreasonable to make people wait 2 hours for their order without any form of communication.

This restaurant used to be very good but the kadia lamb we ordered last night was so dry and seemed like it had been warmed up from the night before no sauce whatsoever.We were very disappointed.

We came here because a new neighbour, who is very particular about her food, suggested this was a very authentic Indian restaurant, she was not wrong. First, do not be off put by the frontage of this restaurant, there is a gem behind it. We enjoyed a menu that was not just the same old same old, the service exemplary and not rushed. The explanation of the dishes and their make up was welcome. Not a huge restaurant which makes for a very pleasant ambience. Asking for things slightly off menu was not a problem(i mean spicier) Rarely do we leave anything but in this instance because after two courses we were well satisfied. We will be back.

Wow. I cannot praise this lovely cosy restaurant enough. Small enough to be intimate if you are a couple But large enough for the office party. Great food. Authentic cuisine. No bland tomato sauce dominant sauces here. Delicious from start to finish. Lots of meat. Great choices. Not just the run of the mill. Lovely obliging friendly staff. Nice ambience. We will be back. The food they serve is mainly South Indian food which is different from the other Indian restaurant. S. Indian food does contain cheese or nuts. The food was delicious. Certainly eat South Indian food like dosa or idlli and vada rather than Naan etc.

We chose Turmeric Kitchen as it advertises a separate vegetarian menu and as we last had an acceptable dosa about 35 years ago! We were bowled over by the friendly staff, great atmosphere and amazing food. Everything was perfect! With three vegetarians in our group, it was important that there was an adequate selection for us to choose from. The restaurant surpassed on all fronts. A HUGE choice of veggie food and a personal explanation from the waiters as each course was served. The whole evening was a triumph. The cost was not too expensive and certainly in line with the quality of the food served. The only advice I would give is to book ahead, as it was very busy.

Lovely meal with lots suitable For vegetarian and gluten free. My dad had forgotten his glasses and when we jokingly asked if he had a spare pair, he came out with a tray of reading glasses of varying strength! Best Indian in Taunton. We have tried almost every Indian restaurant in town and this is now our go to place. The food here is esquisite. I can't tell you how much I love the majestic lamb. We have have tried fair few things off the menu and they are all superb. They are inventive unique and above all delicious dishes. Enjoy!
